Follow-up to the first movie, and lost none of it's sparkle. *****

Just a thought; Indiana Jones went for the Ark of the Covenant, Lara Croft for Pandora's Box. These archaeologists don't go after anything small, do they ??

Ironman 2

meh. Some good action scenes but overal a bit slow and clunky.

burn after reading

another great outing by the Coen brothers. Seems odd but by seeing Brad Pitt and George Clooney playing character like these so well really shows what good actors they were. Tilday Swinton barely looks like a vampire at all. And it did a great job of tying everything in together.

The Other Guys

Wow it was spectacularly bad. There was nothing funny in it at all. It was just weird and awkward, The characters were boring and unlikable and it was honestly the closest I've ever come to walking out of a movie theatre (and would've if I'd have anywhere to go.)

Have to say the first 30 mins of this movie are the best, with several unrelated scenes, though Charlie Sheen's cameo was probably the funniest !!

The main body of the movie is pretty much along the lines of War of the World's, and tends to take the p*ss outta Tom Cruise, which is fair enough imho. And Leslie Nielsen's take on 'Dubya' Bush when informed at the school about the attacks, was that he was more interested in hearing the end of the kids' story rather than deal with the problem at hand. Also included were several redone scenes from the Saw movies, which were fun.

As with most movies in this genre, it's more a case of spotting the movies they're taking the mickey out of, rather than following a single storyline, and I think it benefits from that. Well worth seeing. ****

Above average scifi thriller set in the not-too-distant future on an overpopulated earth that's at war with Alpha Centauri, with the excellent Gary Sinise as the Impostor in question, and Vincent D'Onofrio who is the cop chasing him. Also stars Madeleine Stowe as the wife, Mekhi Phifer as the down-and-out who helps him, Gary Dourdon as a cop, and a brief appearance of the woman who plays Keiko O'Brien in TNG (sorry forgot her name, and not listed in credits). Originally written by Philip K. Dick (Blade Runner and others), this keeps you guessing right to the end. *****

A well crafted film! We enjoyed it thoroughly and are still talking about it.

Charlize Theron in the title role, as a freedom fighter trying to bring down the utopian society that has been in isolated existence for the past 400 years, after a global war destroyed most of the human race and with it any chance for conception and to have babies. Society continues to exist thanks to cloning, though now even that is under threat. Marton Csokas as the chairman of the society, and Sopie Okonedo as another freedom fighter are both excellent, but Theron as usual is outstanding. *****

First of the Riddick movies, with Vin Diesel in the lead role as the anti-hero chained-up and on his way back to slam, until the spaceship he and others are travelling in crashes onto a planet, and when the suns go down it becomes a matter of survival. Excellent movie !! *****

How to train your dragon

great film. The kids were on the edge of their seat. And another great recent movie about fathers. I don't know why but it feels like I've seen a lot of those lately

Leaves of Grass

Hadn't heard of this one before but it was brilliant. Amazing cast. Edward Norton is amazing.

How to Train Your Dragon
Agree with Wissa, although it wasn't exactly a smooth movie for fathers.

Defendor
Some little laughs, but not a movie I care to see again. Dealing with a mentally slow hero is rough material by itself, the movie didn't care to make it any easier.

Easy A

Better than I was expecting. Plot was interesting and different from the usual teen comedy (as was the main character) and it was really funny.
