Despicable Me

It was alright, but not particularly funny. And the whole story seemed a bit rushed. Cute, albeit predictable ending.

Good to know, we almost went to see that this past weekend but opted out

Return of Nanny McPhee (or at least something of a similar name).

It was good but not as good as the first one, since Colin Firth wasn't in it. :crying:

@ Moon and Wissa

Yeah, I wouldn't bother with it. It's ok, but not worth the price of the ticket. Better to wait til it's on tv.

Hangover
They did a good job of making you feel just as clueless as the guys witht the hangover about what happened the night before. I laughed even though some of the jokes should have only been funny if you were drunk. Not family friendly by any means.

The Losers
Couldn't shake the feeling it was the rejected story for the A-team. Acting was fine, but the movie lost out in the editing. The bad guy was also a little too crazy to be taken seriously although he was bad.

Repo Men
A waste of time. I'm not sure if this movie was supposed to be funny or not. I didn't LOL, but there were parts that were far enough out there it is like they expected me too.

Rented The Fourth Kind

Maybe I'm just dumb, but I found it a bit dull to just sit there watching hypnotized people freak out while recounting alleged alien abductions, on grainy black & white film, with VHS distortion, split-screened with reenactments, from more noted actors, pretending that the black & white footage was real

& any additional story in there was rather too lame to even be mentioned

well I did it. Couldn't find anything at the video store tonight so I rented Twilight. Not going to say it was perfect, but I enjoyed it and I can see it's appeal.

i've never seen that,
but i got an a-team vibe from
the trailer for it.

There can be only one

why?
Isnt it enough that you're actually on it?
The unambiguous and defined essence of a truest friend, is a single soul, shared in two bodies. A person who completes you so, that it pains you when they hurt, and sustains you when they are with you, no matter how far.

The Banquet

Chinese period piece martial arts film based on Shakespeares`s Hamlet, starring Zhang Ziyi. I love Hamlet, so was worried that the storyline was going to be too predictable, but they changed things around a bit at the end, and combined with the change of setting, cultures etc, it kept things feeling nicely fresh. Of course beautiful set design, costuming, cinematography and choreography is a given. Well worth watching! ****

Where The Wild Things Are

Having been looking forward to watching this for quite some time, my expectations were rather high.... but i must say, it didn`t disappoint! A film adaptation of a much loved old childrens book of the same name by Maurice Sendak, it could have been all too easy to mess it up, but Spike Jonze did a wonderful job of bringing it all to life. A great performance from the young (and stupidly named) main actor, as well as great performances from the actors that made up the creatures.... they really come to life, each having a wonderful sense of character and portraying their emotions brilliantly - not an easy thing to do. Overall, i really loved it! *****

Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Was awesome. I loved it. I cannot understand why it's gotten so much criticism. 90% of the jokes were funny, which is a rarity and the story was interesting. Perhaps a little on the cliched side, but so what? I thought the characters were quite original, and the effects were good. I'd see it again, if it weren't for the fact that it's only going to run one more week (I predict) and school starts again then.

Robin Hood w/ Russell Crowe
I liked it much better than I expected. The battle at the end was poorly planned even for how quickly they developed their strategy. Blood wasn't that bad despite the multiple battle scenes.

Cop Out
Oddly worked. If it ever appears on network tv, it will have to be a silent film due to the amount of language.
