Book of Eli. Worth the time to watch. Had spoilers on the ending, and they did well at keeping true to it. Fight scenes were pretty rough, but even my parents were able to handle it. If it weren't for the head in the bar, I'd put this is a faith based movie. |

Shutter Island No thanks. Cheat on the plot. Story was too pressed. At the beginning, they turned the music up to much for a dramatic crescendo which was a metaphor for the whole movie. And parents should just skip it. |

![]() Peter Jackson said LOTR was a nine hour movie in three parts. Well BoB is a ten hour movie, in ten parts. Telling the story of Easy Company, part of the 101st Airborne Division, from basic training and deployment on D-Day, through the battles of Arnhem (Market Garden) and Bastogne (Battle of the Bulge) and to the fall of Germany and the capture of the 'Eagles Nest', Hitler's secret bunker in Austria. Made by HBO and produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, this doesn't just show the big battle scenes, it mostly concentrates on the slog of being a soldier, the day-to-day grind of life in the field and the constant threat of attacks. With outstanding performances by all concerned, it's hard to pick out individual performances as noteworthy. But some of the most memorable parts are the interviews with the actual surviving members of Easy Company, the guys who were there. It's impossible NOT to be moved by this series. I mean forget Oscar Nominations, like LOTR everybody who took part cast and crew deserve one each imho. It's said that the first 20 mins of 'Saving Private Ryan' are the most realistic battle scenes ever filmed. It's good, yeah, but nothing compared to the entire 'Band of Brothers' series, for realism. Of course it gets ***** |

Just watched HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER last night for nostalgia value, and just realized how flawed the ending was.... The Red October was a Typhoon class ballistic missile submarine carrying dozens of nuclear warheads. The Konovalov was a MUCH smaller Alfa class fast attack tactical submarine with no nuclear payload. No granted, going down in the grand Banks is very deep and investigation of wreckage would have next to impossible, but we all had satellites at the time and they would have been able to detect the lack of nuclear payload wreckage using that and known that it wasnt Red October that was destroyed. |

Denny, if satellite images are all it takes, then the US should have been able to drop some nuclear material into the trench to fake the sat images. With the eyewitness accounts, it shouldn't have been too hard to keep them looking for the non-nuke sub. |

I suppose...maybe, maybe not. Its also kinda weird that they would have fitted a "caterpillar" drive on a sub class that already among their most "quiet" if not THE quietest. Still - entertaining movie. |

Wissa, the hands were checked to see if the person was eating other humans to the extent that it was probably causing some type of neurological symptoms affecting the ability to hold your hands still. |

There were a couple statements here and there when they put the 2 things together without explicitly saying it. The most explicit was close to the end with the older couple and Eli said "Did you see their hands?" shortly followed by "too much human meat." |

2012 Good Grief, That movie was so long!!! Although, I liked the begining. The action scenes were great, especially watching them in HD. The end where the whole world was covered under water except for the Africa, some parts of the Middle East and another region where I forgot the name of but made me think that with all those people headed to Africa, what about the people that already live there. |

Twilight: Eclipse bad movie. lol they took an extremely emotional book.. and made it into a vaguely emotional movie. The acting was horrible with exception of a few. they stayed pretty true to the verbage of the book... but left out important things that would have sucked in the viewers(yeah sure the charcter said the words but it was all wrong)... they left in the cheese and left out the depth. seriously.. if I didn't like this book.. i would have left the movie. To many cheesy kiss scenes.... not good kiss scenes like the first movie I dont think I will be buying this movie like I did the other two. |

given the number of teen movies lately that all seem to be about some quirky kid just acting quirky this movie was a breath of fresh air. Starts out typical teen stuff but rapidly becomes rather frightening. Totally recommend it. may have to change my avatar

CLASH OF THE TITANS Remake By comparison to the original, Perseus' quest seemed rushed, but I did like how they delved more into the gods than the original and how held a bit more true to the mythos than the original did, and while still hip-ified for the current demographic, it wasnt as much so as I thought it would be, with the exception of the strange almost alien creatures that took control of the giant scorpions. SHUTTER ISLAND Good for creepy movie night - have to say that the twist at the end was kind of expected with how it was all led up to, but the reveal was interesting and well done. |

Knight and Day It wasn't terrible, but it dragged on for way too long. It wasn't as funny as it could have been. They tried to be serious, but the plot was just too silly to be taken seriously, so the occasional moments of comedy just felt out of place, resulting in levels of mood whiplash so high that by the end I cared so little about either character I wouldn't have cared if they'd both died. |

Few days ago I watched a borrow DVD of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It was okay, some cheesy way doesn't seem to fit like the legendary mythology. |

Went and saw Toy Story 3d while I was away. liked the movie. Good finale to the series. The end was a bit of a tear jerker. Especially since my stepson graduated this year as well. I can remember taking him to see the first toy story. This was the first 3d movie I'd seen and I don't think I liked it. The first 5 minutes were cool. After that it gave me a headache and the effects were just distracting. |
