It's complicated

really sweet movie filled with characters you wish you knew. Drags a little but you are so enamoured with the people in it you don't really care

Old Dogs

eh. Not the worst movie I've ever seen. But definitly predictable and slow.

Finally saw the Sherlock Holmes. Meh it was alright. I think the actors really did a lot to save a less than stunning story. Seems like the sequel might be more promising, with Moriarty & all

Why oh why do they have to overcomplicate stuff unnecessarily ?? Just post the damn poster, willya ?! Nope, I guess not. Ah well.........

Pirates of the Caribbean: at World's End.

Second of the trilogy, and I like how they have combined fact and myth (flat earth, sea falls off into space) into a good story. Johnny Depp, as always, is magnificent. *****

They had "I Love You Man" on in the team bus there the other day for our trip down to Galway. Awful, awful film. Avoid!!

Excellent movie, with stunning special effects, and like how the writers have combined a major disaster with a blossoming romance (rather like Titanic did). The mostly-all-star cast make it believable. *****

Roland Emmerich's disaster movie before the one he made posted above !! Excellent cast and story, and eye-popping special effects make this movie, best part; Bill Pullman's Predential speech just before the big finish !! *****

Interesting to note, Brent Spiner (Data) had a significant part, and several minor actors later went on to play minor roles in Voyager !!

Can't remember names, or gonna look em up, so apologies.
The traitor from Voyager, who passed on info to Seska and the Kazon, also one of the former Borg from Seven's past, when they got stranded on a planet and later they came looking for her to break the connections.
They were both airforce personnel in the control centre in Independence Day.

Also, think I spotted another in a non-speaking part, but could be wrong.

interesting. :mojo:

i heard that ID4 was supposed to be the sequel
to the stargate movie. the aliens find out where
we are & come to attack. the writer & director were planning
on a trilogy, but the studio did the tv series instead.
if i recall they sued the studio to try to get them to stop.

Saffron Burrows, Samuel, L. Jackson and others far out at sea, on an isolated former submarine pen, experimenting on 'modified' Mako sharks looking for a cure for Alzheimer's, although the sharks are just looking for a meal and a way outta there !!

Best bit; Sammy L. gives a speech about safety and risk-taking, while standing on the edge of a 'moon pool' (underwater access to the sea), and a huge Mako rises up and swallows him whole !!

I remember Stargate saying something like "we can't just fly into their ship and give them a virus to save the Earth." First time for SG1 to save the planet as I recall.

Invictus
Good movie. My mom got into the rugby. Though it was focused on Damon and Freeman, the security guards were a crucial part of this telling.
