Transformers 2

sufficiently shiny and blowy uppy. And that was really all that was required. Plot might have been pretty good if it was easier to follow. But it was really secondary to the blowy uppiness.

Pusher.

Interesting idea, lamely executed. The sets were good though.

Miss Congeniality

Was on tv, though I don't usually watch this kinda film, thought I'd give it a go anyway, especially as it has Sandra Bullock in it, which might raise the IQ level of the movie. I was wrong, especially as it had William Shatner in it, who is always good for destroying any credibility a movie may have, and he did. Michael Caine did his best, but sadly this movie couldn't win any prizes. 1/10

batman: mask of the phantasm
i recall seeing this in theaters in '93 (it was christmas day & we had theater to ourselves)
i recommend this to all batman fans, i recommend this even if you're not a batman fan. this is the batman: the animated series from the '90s, not "the batman" or "batman beyond".

now something about the movie;
there's a new player in the vigilante game in gotham & batman's being blamed for his deeds. to complicate matters, an old flame of bruce's comes back into town, stirring up feelings he thought he burried long ago.

G.I. Joe
Falls into the sci-fi realm. A lot of dead people. Not a bad adult story, but it went overboard on matching the cartoon feel. The accents were too much, especially when you know the buzz phrases to sound a certain way. They also had some massive bases.

suspence rather than horror. And pretty good. Even if you know the surprise.

Live long and prosper.....!!

Armageddon.

A Jerry Bruckheimer epic; lots of action and explosions, basically taking the disaster movie, and wringing every trick, gag and twist out of it. If you don't know it (Where have you been the last ten years !!), a giant asteroid is hurtling uncontrollably towards Earth, which will be destroyed unless astonauts can land, drill a hole and send a nuke down, to destroy the rock.

Enter Bruce Willis, as the driller, and his motley crew of misfits. The fact that Liv Tyler is Bruce Willis's daughter, and that he doesn't approve of her choice of partner (Ben Affleck), is a constant thorn in an otherwise excellent movie. Once they eventually land on the rock, and get to the point of dropping the nuke, naturally it doesn't work and naturally Willis has to stay behind to remote-detonate it (I said they used all the gags).

There are a few lump-in-throat moments, though, especially Willis's final speech to his daughter, and even manages a tear falling down his cheek. Another is the celebrations when Earth is saved, though a particular reunion should have been played differently in my honest opinion. However, as I said, an excellent movie, and one I can and will watch many times. Best part of the movie for me; the title song 'I don't wanna miss a thing' by Aerosmith. ****

There can be only one

G.I.Joe - The Rise of Cobra

Fun to watch and a good action movie, but went a little too far into the "campyness". You can accept that as a cartoon, but winds up being unbelievable and over the top in live action.

Still, for what it was, it was pretty cool, and an entertaining Saturday night flick.
The unambiguous and defined essence of a truest friend, is a single soul, shared in two bodies. A person who completes you so, that it pains you when they hurt, and sustains you when they are with you, no matter how far.

'Changeling' with Angelina Joelie directed by Clint Eastwood

True story of a young boy gone missing in 1934 Los Angelos and the crusade of his Mother to locate him. It was excellent and tragic and compelling. The quality of film you come to expect from Eastwood.
And....the kids!

the great escape

the classic about an attempt at a mass P.O.W camp escape still holds up IMHO. this is baised on a true story & PBS had a thing a few years ago where they took a couple of the guys back to the camp & some archaeologists go digging for one of the tunnels they used

The Golden Compass

I watched this cause someone told me it was anti-christian or something like that... naturally I dont like to take other peoples word for those sorts of things... and rather enjoyed the movie!
It is strange that they call there souls "demons" but they arent evil.
Its and alternate reality thing... where your soul lives outside your body, in the form of an animal!

Pirate Radio

Loved it! I find I generally love British movies though!
Fun, and Funny!

Christmas carol with Jim Carrey.

It stuck to the orignal story... Plus!
Gritty and dirty 1842 London... Plus
Jim Carey's acting.... Ick.
I hated his version of The Ghost of Christmas past.. it was horrible.

All my posts are done from my tablet. I apologize for all strange errors in my posts... as swype hates me. :violet:
