True. Patriot Games was much more of an action flick while Clear and Present Danger was basted in political intrigue.

I don't have proof, but I'm convinced that the big alley attack scene in CPD was blatantly ripped off for another military type show (my cloudy memory tells me Jag).

me too. they stole a lot of
action movie footage. until
paramount (of what ever studio
put out C & P D) did a legal thing
to make them stop. if i recall

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. Yes, I actually went to the theater. Heard a bunch of negative reviews, but frankly I didn't see any of those complaints holding water beyond comparison to the cartoons. The action was great though they still have trouble with making it clear who is who during the battles. Optimus could kick it, but Bumblebee and the spine made for some gruesome robot action. The acting and storyline were better in this movie. The word play between Shia and Megan fit the established characters and plenty of comedy was thrown in.

I contend that Isabel Lucas is the finest evil robot chick to have graced the silver screen.

Is that a big field? :rachel:

Let's see,

Terminator 3
Borg Queen
Hillary Clinton
Girl in red dress...oops, she was a computer program not a robot
Lul (she chose to be a girl, so of course the evil was coming)
the BSG copies (we can just count the model rather than the character)
Rommie (actually that would be close, but Rommie really wasn't evil)

just saw dead again for the 3rd or
4th time. it's brilliant IMHO. a mystery
with a reincarnation twist. a woman is
found with no memory & the male PI
who's trying to find out whoshe is were
once a pianist & her conductor husband.
she was brutally murdered & he went to
the chair for it. but did he do it? you should
find out for yourself.
Kenneth Branagh who played the man also
directed & did wonderfuly, again IMHO.
robin williams has a small part as a disgraced
shrink the PI consults.

just watched the 3rd mummy movie.
it wasn't a bad movie, just wasn't a good
one either. "at least they didn't make it all about
the kid." my brother said, & i agree. maria bello was
good, but she couldn't make me forget rachel weisz.
they had a brief nod to the recasting in dialouge.
i was glad they didn't make it a running gag.

there was one part where they had something
look like it hit the camera, which was stupid &
unnecessary IMHO.

in short; if you don't have anything else to watch,
this movie isn't a compleate waste of time.

Live long and prosper.....!!

Star Trek; First Contact

One of my favourites, mainly as it has the Borg Queen in it, always a bonus imho.
The cast seem a lot more relaxed than they did in other movies; dunno whether that's because it was directed by Frakes, or because they knew there would be more movies to come, but whatever reason they seemed to enjoy playing their roles.

Dragonball Evolution
I expected nothing from this movie just because I thought the comic/cartoon world would be too removed from what they could do with live action. Plus, I saw what they did to Speedracer (granted, I just saw the cartoon again and it was crap too). Anyway, this movie pleasantly surprised. They kept some little call-outs to the comic origin without going overboard. Capsules were a bit improved even if they are still unrealistic. Acting wasn't a detriment, Chi-Chi was hot, and Goku couldn't get his hair to stay down. There may have been some story line changes, but overall, I thought it was as true to form as it could have been.

watched 17Again last night. Expected nothing from it but was plesantly surprised. It was a cute little movie. And Zach Effron did a decent job of capturing Chandler's mannerisms.

Sunshine Cleaners.
Movie about a couple sisters who start a business as crime scene cleaners. The older sister had been going through a midlife crisis that she wasn't doing much except being the other women, so that remained a theme throughout the movie. The movie wasn't that bad as far as crime scene cleaning could go (opening scene was suicide where brain matter made it to aisle 3, but you didn't really see it), but was a nice little heartfelt type movie. I'd recommend it for more than just Amy Adams and Emily Blunt being in it.

The Matrix Trilogy (Matrix/Reloaded/Revolutions).

I wrote an assesment of this series, then realised it was way too long. Not an easy series to review, mainly because it works on so many different levels and concepts, I could write reams. If you've seen it you'll know what I mean, and if you haven't I recommend you do so. You won't see the world in the same way again !!

The Rocker

Ok my son picked this out at the video store and I really didn't want to rent it. But it was a really sweet movie with lots of heart about second chances and not giving up on a dream. And on revenge.
