That's Mrs Tom Paris to you

Last night I watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age. I thought it was brilliant and Cate Blanchett was perfect as always.

Well, that clears that up. I will definitely not rent that one, whenever I figure out what it is

Sherlock... I mean... KHANNNNNNN

I watched "Miss Potter" last night, which is all about the life of the childrens author Beatrix Potter, and not to sound all British but...

What a delightful film, it was so interesting and beautifully done. I'm not a big fan of Renee Zellweger but she played the part of Beatrix really well and Ewan McGregor's part as Norman Warne was just as good.

Though Beatrix was from London, her family used to holiday in the Lake District, around Windermere. I've seen some programs that have been filmed in the Lakes and they don't do any justice to how breathe taking it actually is but "Miss Potter" truly does!

If you ever get chance, I recommend you read some of her Books, I know they were meant for children but they are just lovely stories to read. Beatrix did her own illustrations aswell.

Althogh many people will know her best for her story about "Peter Rabbit", my favourite was and still is "The Tale of Tom Kitten." So much so that when I got my own Tabby Kitten, I named him Tom.

I will be adding this film to my DVD collection in the near future.

When I crack that whip, everybody goin' to trip like circus
I was channel flicking after the news last night and ran across Let Him Have It

Synopsis:

It's the real life story and events of Derek Bentley who was wrongfully hanged for killing a cop in a foiled robbery in 1952.

Derek Bentley was epileptic and had the maximum mental age of 11, thou some say it was 4 but the film says 11(Physically he was 19), and he wanted so desperately to become part of a gang which his friend Christopher Craig (16) and Chris's brother were a part of. Derek and Chris sneak out one night and they attempt to gain access to a department store via the roof when it goes wrong and the cops show up. Chris has a gun and begins shooting like in the gangster films he was so fond of and in the incident a cop gets killed, another wounded.

Both Derek and Chris are arrested and put to trial were both were found guilty. Chris Craig was sent to jail and only spent 10 years becuase of his age despite being the gun man. Derek Bentley was sentenced to death by hanging, despite it being proved that Craig was more guilty then Derek.

Derek Bentley is played by Christopher Eccleston in his very first movie roll and is played superbly. Christopher Craig is played by Paul Reynolds. The entire film makes you sit up and take notice of the way that we judge the mentally handicapped and the death penalty which is no longer an option in the UK, shocking and thought provoking this is a great film. Thou the epileptic fits and the hanging scenes might upset thous who easily get upset (Don't watch the video in the link if you are.) I recommend it if you are in to drama and real life based stories.

watched the new indiana jones in the hotel room while we were away. I thought it was a decent addition to the franchise. Would have preferred if they had kept it to christian mythology though rather than what they did.

Dark Knight

I thought it was great. I wasn't bored a bit. Heath's performance of "The Joker" was stunning and a bit more Psychotic but I much rather liked Jack Nicholson's portrayal. I think I liked Tommy Lee Jones twisted "Two Face" better too. I think both Batman Begins and Dark Knight are less comic booky than it's predecessors. Besides Batman(1989), Dark Knight is my second favorite movie of all.

HellBoy 2

I was drugged into seeing this. There were some funny parts but I really could not wait until it was over.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

It was okay, but not as good as the first movie. I fell asleep in the middle of it and woke up towards the end.

Saw Conspiracy with Val Kilmer. No idea how it made my list, but I was disappointed enough to give it the lowest rating in my queue. Might have been more tolerable if I didn't mind the blatant, assine political rips. And Val hasn't really held up.

The last movie I saw at the theatre's was The Mummy

Now I loved the first two films, but replacing Rachel Weise with Maria Bello, uck. And how long to set up the story? And could it have been done with more interest? Lame. The previews on how it was made and the story line made it seem interesting, however it was lame.
