Watched Sleuth the other night. The whole movie was just Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine talking. Didn't even get to see the girl they were "fighting" over. The word play and acting was good. Storyline was interesting and it kept you guessing about what was happening and who was acting like they were acting.

he was.... and it was a nice touch...

Marvel is definitely leading up to something... and I like that they are plugging it in multiple movies!

Michael Caine, did a remake of it, in 2007, with Jude Law playing his former part. It bored the hell out of me

That is it. It was a bit long for the subject matter.

I watched Vantage Point with Dennis Quaid and Forest Whitaker. It just wasn't very good and I didn't like it. They tried really hard to be suspenseful and draw you into the story and it just wasn't working for me.

I cannot believe that I watched "27 Dresses" with Katherine Heigl last night. At first I did not want to watch it but then after it started it ended up being pretty good. I'm not that much into chick flicks but I seemed to like this one.

Finally got around to seeing M. Night Shyamalan's "The Village"

It's not as bad as everyone was making out. A bit dry, & the last half hour dragged till the end, but if you can get past the campy trick ending, it was worth the rental

Not sure how I'll feel about his new movie "The Happening" I don't care much for Marky Mark in lead roles. He's not very endearing or easy to identify with, but I may go check it out just for Zooey Deschanel

is that why you wrote the review in pink?
because it's a chick flick?

BTW i removed part of the color tag
because on the quote background it
hurt my eyes

I liked the village. It wasn't the best movie I'd ever seen but I thought it was interesting.

last night we watched

Evan Almighty- rented it for the kids but found it surprisingly powerfull. All about finding god in everyday situations and having faith. Mr. Wissaboo didn't see it that way though.

Jumpers - interesting little sci fi story. Felt like a setup for a series though which I find irritating. Lets just make one movie I'm going to like instead of trying to hook me into number 2 :pfft:

not as good as the first one, better than the third.
i hear they're planning a fourth. i hope they don't
do it. as my fave quote from the first one goes;
"they were so preoccupied with whether or not they could,
they didn't stop to think if they should"

I've been a fan of his earlier movies, but lately they have been losing momentum. I didn't much care for "Lady In The Water"

I kind of thought it was vapid & light on plot, with only mediocre performances. When Sam Jackson being bad ass is all you got to entertain with, you're reaching

What is it with Hayden Christiansen? The guy has no soul. Moments after I finish watching a film with him in it, I completely forget what he looks & sounds like... again. All I remember is blond hair & a lifeless performance

I don't think we'll be seeing future incarnations of this, at least I hope not

I actually really enjoyed The Village but I'm also a huge M. Night Shyamalan and Joaquin Phoenix fan. In my eyes neither of them can do wrong.

Although I'm really looking forward to The Happening (I love Zooey Deschanel) I tend to agree with you about Mark Wahlberg. He really isn't very endearing is he?

This weekend I finally got around to seeing Michael Clayton. I must admit I am among a minority of women who aren’t in love with George Clooney so I wasn’t expecting much. I was however pleasantly surprised by the quality of acting in the film. Tilda Swinton was amazing as always and Tom Wilkinson was absolutely brilliant as Arthur Edens. It was an interesting and disturbing take on cooperate America. I give the film 4 stars out of 5

Don't get me wrong, there have been movies where I thought he acted very well, the best probably being The Departed, but whenever he has to play someone we need to like or identify with he usually misses the Mark.... Marky

Joaquin Phoenix! Infinitely better actor. It's rare that he doesn't impress me. I think it was him & Bryce Dallas Howard who made The village a bearable movie

M. Night has made some very special movies,, my favorites being Unbreakable & Signs but I hope he just doesn't turn out to be a one trick pony :(

Michael Clayton, also very good

Mark and I saw Hancock on Sunday. It's pretty funny, the whole concept of a superhero who doesn't know who he is.

Hancock starts off, as the people in the movie say constantly, as an asshole.

I liked it; it was funny but it had a lot of drama and action too.

I saw Get Smart last Friday and I thought it was hilarious. Steve Carrel did a great job IMO.
