i saw national treasure 2.
it was an ok movie, if you liked
the first one, you'll like this.
although the bad guy's motive
was a bit muddled. IMHO.
& nick cage had odd hair that made
his forehead look bulbous.
it was distracting.

 Ha, my ex hubby just bought that yesterday! I will see it later when he is done with it to let me borrow it.

Went to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull today! :happy1: :happy1: Over all was good except for two things that I cringed in the movie.... I won't spoil it anyway until any of you see it. I love the Harley Davidson that Shia LeBeauf as Mutt was riding on. So cool to see Indy riding on the back behind Mutt!

I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull yesterday. I thought it was pretty good and it was fun to see an Indiana Jones movie in the theatre. Even though all the movies have far-fetched elements, it just seemed like this one in particular was more unbelievable than the rest. Still, I liked it more than Temple of Doom.

I also watched Grace is Gone starring John Cusack. It's about a man (Cusack) who's wife is a soldier killed in Iraq and he must find a way to tell his two daughters. Maybe not the best movie but still quite moving. I can't imagine what that must feel like.

last night we watched Close Encounters of the third Kind and We Own the night

I didn't realize till I sat down that I had never seen the beginning of close encounters. It's always one of those movies you start watching half way through on a sunday afternoon. The kids all enjoyed it and the special effects held up well.

We own the night is pretty slow but a decent movie. It's set in 1988 and they totally got the music wrong which really bugged me. But it wasn't bad.

Saw Indy this weekend. It was a little campier than I wanted, with some rather dumb things in it, occasionally, but it kept me thoroughly entertained, & was very fun for a summer movie

I watched the Will Ferrell comedy Semi-Pro tonight. Unfortunately I gotta say I was disappointed with this one. Only a few parts of it were really funny to me.

I just watched There Will Be Blood. I'd been dying to see it forever. Daniel Day Lewis was absolutely amazing! I must admit however that I found myself growing more and more disenchanted with the plot as the film went on. It was extremely fragmented and lacked narrative. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy subtly when it comes to a plot but this went way beyond asking the audience to piece things together for themselves. It felt a little like trying to navigate in a foreign country where no one speaks your language. :idon'tknow:

Just watched Rambo. It was really really violent. Well maybe not so much violent as graphic. I don't know if that is really a bad thing. I've always thought it might be better to have violence be really ugly and explicit and then at least it doesn't glamourize it. But not for the weak of stomach that is for sure.

And there was one burning question for me throughout the entire movie.... what the hell was that woman even doing there? the rest appeared to be doctors or dentists or even preachers. When she got there she just wandered around useless as hell. It wasn't even like she could carry much. Having a woman just made them more of a target so why even have one unless she served some purpose? :waiting:

I saw "Walk Hard" yesterday. It managed to make me laugh. Especially the part where Dewy Cox meets The Beatles

Walk Hard - The Beatles

I'd watch a whole movie of those guys playing the Beatles :liz:

Jack Black as Paul McCartney
Paul Rudd as John Lennon
Justin Long as George Harrison
Jason Schwartzman as Ringo Starr

Touching, thought provoking, heartfelt, and gripping, with not one performance which is less than spectacular. The film based on the 1996 nonfiction best seller, by Jon Krakauer, of the same name, is a true life account of the adventures of Christopher Johnson McCandless, who after graduating college, gave up his life, & belongings, gave his savings to charity, burned the money in his wallet, and set out on a journey which would ultimately lead him to the wilderness of Alaska, less than fully prepared for what would await him.

Director, producer, and co-screenplay writer Sean Penn is truly reaching deep and delivering a piece from the heart, which supports a wondrous cast, including Hal Holbrook, Jena Malone, Marcia Gay Harden, Vince Vaughn, William Hurt and Catherine Keener.

The lead actor, Emile Hirsch did such a haunting job in his portrayal, when the film ended, and a photo of the real Christopher Johnson McCandless graced the screen, I had to take a closer look, to realize that it wasn't Hirsch

It's a 2½ hour long movie, and it's pacing is generally slow, but it is still a very interesting view. I haven't seen a movie quite like this since I saw David Lynch's "The Straight Story", a true life account of the Alvin Straight story, which happens to be a favorite film of mine

I'd recommend watching "Into the Wild", though be prepared for a long cinematic journey as well, with joy and pain along the way....... like life

I recently watched The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. I don't know if those two have worked together before but it was cool seeing them both. The movie had its mix of funny and sad moments and overall I'd say it was pretty good.
