ok it was independence day.

actually sat and watched a star wars movie all the way though as well.  Ye gads the dialogue is horrible.  :o  all that money and they couldn't spend a few bucks to get someone to rewrite the dialogue?

Which one did you watch? Was that your first one?

I watched the origional ones when they were in theatres. I think this one was the clone wars. Second of the newer ones. The special effects are amazing. The dialogue is amazingly bad.

Ah yeah. I can't watch the "love scenes" anymore. It's just too painful. Thank goodness for fast forward.

Any of the more recent Star Wars movies, are a waste of time. I'd rather watch mold grow :wissa:

Just finished the Ark of Truth. The Replicator made another change for the uglier. Not really enough of a movie for the silverscreen, but a good ending for the storylines left open.

No RDA appearances though. :(

and then when he went back to the video store? :crying:

I wish they had done a little more with the lead night seeker guy. There seemed to be a real personal thing between the two of them. And the trap? they never mentioned that again.

I know. :(

Yeah that's true I forgot about him. It did seem like there was something going on.

My wife agrees about the Bee movie. I avoided it.

How could Mr. Wissa not like I Am Legend? I thought it was great. I have to rent the second DVD so I can see the alternate ending though. Knowing about the dog ahead of time didn't help.

:o there is an alternate ending?
1) the night seekers, why weren't they eating the dear? do they only eat people?

2) if dogs and rats could get it why not deer and lions?

3) the lead night seeker dude. Was he imitating will smith?

4) how did she drive to and from manhattan if they blew up the bridges and, I'm assuming, the tunnels.
and I have no idea how he didn't like it. I was like "did you just watch thte same movie?"

Yes, but it isn't on the DVD with the movie.
1. They were attracted to fresh blood.
2. Natural immunities. Diseases don't always cross to all species hence Legend's difficulty with human trials when working on the cure.
3. Yep, quite well I would say.
4. No idea
I saw my first Alfred Hitchcock film today: Vertigo. It was a good movie, although maybe a little too long. Jimmy Stewart was good as always. The plot twist was interesting and I admit I didn't see it coming. I'm not quite sure how to take the ending.

Dude! I love Hitchcock. Vertigo, North By Northwest, & Rear Window, are three of my all time favorite movies

Personally I think North By Northwest is more modern friendly, but Vertigo is still my favorite of the three

watched Invisible last night. Really decent little thriller. Definitly an interesting twist on the love story. And they didn't call vanvouver seattle which is pretty unusual. Great use of the landscape as well.

Southland Tales - confusing. Something of a spoof. Supposedly what happens if you actually touch your time travelling self. The use of current politics was disgusting though. They give Clinton asssss spot on the 2008 ticket, then make up the Republican ticket so they can do whatever they want to that person. Funny bimbos.

No Country for Old Men - long. Apparently a chip on the shoulder about religion and wealthy people. I didn't realize that there were actually 2 brothers until the very end which may have made things more confusing, but the whole why just didn't fit.

Beowulf

Loved it!

I have to admit that I have not ever read the actual poem but the movie was fantastic.

It's all in CG akin to Final Fantasy. But the whiz-bang of it all does not in my humble opinion take away from the stellar performances of the actors, that include:

Anthony Hopkins
Ray Winston
Brendan Gleeson
Robin Wright Penn

....of which both Mr. Hopkins' and Mr. Winston's performances are gold.

PS. Look for Dominic Keating in this one too.

Good flick. I recomend it.

3.5/4

The Water Horse - Good family movie. Kept the kids entertained and there was enough going on to keep the grownups interested as well. Nicely used background of ww2

The Bank Job - Good caper pick. Set in the 1970's and the set dressing and costumes are worth watching the film for. Pretty complex but ties everything up in the end. And it's based on a great real story. Loved the ending. :D
