I 'will' remember.

Saw "Spy" a couple of days ago. The dialogue was fast, furious, and often side-splittingly funny. With unexpected twists and turns in the plot.
I will remember.

Saw "Jurassic World" today. Very much enjoyed it. Had little nods to the original that were subtle and nicely done. Had recreations of some of the original things that were also subtle and changed in just the right way for me that it in no way made me think of a remake. And never had me mentally 'comparing' them. Plenty or original bits, characters, and story. More than a few terrific twists on original things that gave me delight.

And Chris Pratt.

Flavored with comedy I enjoyed.

And that actor... what's his name? Oh, right; Chris Pratt!
I will remember.

Heartbeeps (1981)

I'm not sure what I just saw here, & how I've never even heard of this before. It is easily the most bizarre thing ever conceived on film, & though it's a genuine failure on multiple levels (So much so that Kaufman apologized & offered people their money back on a Letterman appearance) it's not without its charms, it's got some interesting cinematography, makeup effects by the acclaimed master of 80's FX Stan Winston & a wonderful synthesizer & orchestra fused score, composed by none other than the great John Williams, which lends the film some heart...beeps

I streamed it on Amazon. Don't watch it to see a good movie. Watch it like a time capsule revealing something historical about a people who lived nearly half a century years ago & their vision of a future. I swear, Andy Kaufman had the absolute strangest career in entertainment of anyone who ever breathed

Watched '71 the other night. It takes place over a night in Belfast in 1971. I had to look it up on wiki to read the plot to figure out what I'd just watched. I'm sure it would be better if you were better at interpreting accents than I am. lol

And yet? A fully accurate depiction of how the movie makes you feel. It is perhaps the most unintentionally awkward & jarringly bizarre vision ever put to film, & bear in mind, I've seen The Adventures of both Baron Munchausen & Buckaroo Bonzai. I shit you not, there is a robot that does a shitty one-liner Rodney Dangerfield impression through the whole film

I just watched Zauthra (2005) and Sleepy Hollow(1999)

zathura is very much like jumanji.. kids play a random game and are taken through some crazy sheninagins
It stars Josh Hutcherson before he got famous with Hunger games and Kristen Stewart has a pre-twilight appearance as his older sister.
Space theme are cool....I actually enjoyed it. Poor Stewart the bitchy barely older sister... I thought she was over the top...

Sleepy hollow was fun...Johnny Depp was sexy... I didnt really enjoy Christina Ricci though...but an enjoyable movie.
All my posts are done from my tablet. I apologize for all strange errors in my posts... as swype hates me. :violet:

My swiss cheese memory leaves a bit to be desired so .. not much of a review but I do want to recommend a couple of good Sci Fi flicks I've seen on Netflix. If I remember correctly they didn't get the best star ratings or whatever but that's because the average person looking at a sci fi movie wants to see Michael Bay type stuff but I really enjoyed these two... One is an Antonio Banderas movie called "Automata" ... I liked this one a lot. Seems to have had a decent budget and is a gdamn good looking movie, along with a damn good story. WELL WORTH YOUR TIME.... folks like us love this type of shit. The other is "Paralells" and I'll just say that it involves shifting realities, a mystery, and sort of a Sliders type vibe.

Check 'em both out... makes for a good after noon of entertaining, thought provoking sci fi.

Matt Damon's The Martian, directed by Ridley Scott, is a pretty damn good movie. Way more story substance than Gravity & way less techno jargon bogging it down than Interstellar. Apollo 13/Cast Away & done right. Some dry spots with the supporting cast, but Damon & Jessica Chastain (Who were both in Interstellar. lol) More than make up for it

I 'will' remember.

I'll start with a recently seen rather than 'last one I saw'.

Hector and the Search For Happiness
To me it was a light hearted, sometimes tongue in cheek, casual little mind walk into one's relationship with Life. Well crafted I thought, both as a production and the writing/acting of lead character's significant other especially but also the lead character himself. It was light hearted as I mentioned so it was easy to surmise most of the ending in the search for happiness of course, however it was the 'how he/they got there' that was most interesting and often unexpected. If one enjoys Simon Pegg being characteristically Simon Pegg I would give this little movie a should see.

The last movie I saw is surprisingly another Simon Pegg movie, Kill Me Three Times. This one is Australian and walks in the footsteps of Pulp Fiction as a script and production. Now although I particularly luv Pulp Fiction I am not a noir film enthusiast as a rule.

This is a library DVD movie, I had not heard of it before, the cover looked to me like it could be another Shaun of the Dead or EofW or Hot Fuzz type of Pegg movie so, liking 'them' I brought it home. I often watch a DVD Extras before I watch a movie and with this one I am so glad I did because I would have watched this movie going WTF since it is, you know, Pulp Fiction-y. But the extras gave me enough background from a Q & A with Pegg and some others in the film production that I knew ahead of time this wasn't what I originally expected and with a little hint of the 'kind' of character Pegg was playing. So I was able to let the movie unfold as it is rather than clouding my experience with my Expectations being bulldozed as I watched.

And man did I have fun watching this movie,,, in a very noir way. Laugh out loud moments and all kinds of normal-types doing all kinds of wrong things. Pretty doggone cool. I recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Pulp Fiction.
I will remember.
