Live long and prosper.....!!

Remember one 'flea pit' movie theatre I went to back in the 70s, oh it was awful, you wiped your feet on the way OUT. 10 years later it had been refurbished, and was really posh inside. 4 years later it was struck by lightning that left a gaping hole in the roof, that the owners weren't in a hurry to repair. 5 years later the ruin was demolished to make way for a bypass. Hey c'est la vie !!

I saw T4 last night. I thought it was the best one of them all. Yeah explosions, not much plot, but it's not that kind of movie. It's an action flick based off of a toyline. Still loved it. Son loved it. Can help but enjoy Mark Walhberg, Titus Welliver and that guy from Hunger Games.

the battered bastards of baseball

after bonanza was canceled actor bing russell, (father of kurt russell) who played deputy clem, starts an independent class A baseball team in portland, oregon. he turns a collection of eccentrics, has-beens & never-wases into a successful & popular team.

if you like baseball, watch this documentary. if you don't like baseball, watch this documentary.

There can be only one

Last movie in a Theater: MALEFICENT
Really enjoyed how well AJ fit into this role. She's not my favorite, but she had some chops in this...I also enjoyed the spin that they put on the Sleeping Beauty story

Last NEW movie at home: WORLD WAR Z
Zombies are NOT my thing, and didn't know that's what it was about, but I played it and it made Mimi clutch me like in the first two minutes, and we strangely could not seem to switch off of it. The last zombie he was face to face with near the end was neck-hair-raising creepy.
The unambiguous and defined essence of a truest friend, is a single soul, shared in two bodies. A person who completes you so, that it pains you when they hurt, and sustains you when they are with you, no matter how far.

Followed the book pretty decently , I liked it but didnt love it. I feel like the casting was very well done. My boyfriend liked this movie better than the first Hunger Games... I think hes nuts.

After earth.
It was decent...but I think it could have been way better. I had no Idea this was an M. NIght Shyamalan tmovie...and once I saw his name... I was waiting for some crazy twist that did not come... so I guess that was the twist...and being a Shyamalan tmovie explains why it could have been better.... pretty much all of his movies are great ideas that seem half executed...but are definitely watchable. Will Smith is on point... Jaden Smith has his moments
All my posts are done from my tablet. I apologize for all strange errors in my posts... as swype hates me. :violet:

I 'will' remember.

LUVED Maleficent. Luved the twist in the story. Luved the vfx.

Guardians of the Galaxy is now one of my favorite movies of the thousand or more I've watched in my lifetime. It struck so many of my enjoyment strings; visual, production, acting, costumes, story. This movie makes me feel happy happy happy. At times touches my heart, It is highly re-watchable. Awesome escapism. It BEGS to be re-watched. Saturday was the third time I went to see it the theater. Visually stunning, characters I immediately cared about... and it makes me 'feel' happy!

I will remember.

i know that voice

a documentary about voice actors & how it's not as easy as some may think.
kind of interesting to see some of the faces behind the voices most of us know.

the galapagos affair: satan came to eden

(a documentary)

in 1929 a german medical doctor & his mistress, tired of civilization & people, give up everything to live on an uninhabited island in the galapagos. but "paradise" isn't all it's cracked up to be & eventually other people move onto the island; a small german family hoping to improve the health of their son. who are followed not long after by a woman claiming to be a baroness & her 2 male lovers with a grand plan to open a hotel for rich tourists. personalities clash, resources dry up & possible murder follows.

a really interesting story that includes home movies, actors reading from actual letters written by the protagonists & interviews with current inhabitants of the islands, who's own stories would make a good documentary too.

Live long and prosper.....!!

I prefer documentaries to dramas. Because they deal with truth, they're usually far more interesting and compelling. I remember a 5-part documentary about the Galapagos, from how it was formed and the people and livestock there, from Darwin to now and what to expect in the future. Fascinating !!

batman (1989) & batman returns

better than the keaton-less ones that followed.

someone on tumblr pointed out that batman returns is more of a catwoman movie than a batman movie. which i never noticed before.

two documentaries on netflix;

time zero: the last year of polaroid film
less about the the end of an era of photography & more about how nothing was better than polaroid instant film & the polaroid SX-70 camera was the best ever.

legends of the knight
about how batman inspires people to do & be better.

An indie movie with an unknown cast, but all the more frightening because of that. Watch this, and you'll think twice about swimming or diving in the ocean, especially away from land. Based on true events, this is one amazing movie not to be missed !!
