so far 2007 has been a little too exciting.

I took these pictures off my deck this morning. As far as we know one person was injured.

We were warned we may be evacuated so we took all the photo albums and went accross the street to the neighbours.

It's funny I was fine at the time, but now I'm all shaky. It was a pretty scary moment when I looked out the window and saw that. The fire department wasn't here and I had no idea where the people who live there were. They have a two year old little girl who, thank god, wasn't hurt.

Glad you and yours is alright. I'm assuming it wasn't Rachel's house and they are okay too.

Who is it that got hurt?

Hi Rab :)

Sue and I live across town but we did receive a rather dramatic call from Mr. Wissaboo detailing what occurred. It's a good thing the fire department got there fast enough. Add a little wind and it's much more than that little off-suite that was likely to go up.

As Wissa said, thank God the people's baby is ok.

I thought you and the wissa's were neighbors. Did one of you move, or did I misread an early post like some people do with canon at ST.com.

I just talked to the mother of the woman who lives there. They are looking for their cats who of course took off in the excitement.

The 20 something father and two year old were home. Mom was at work. Apparantly the father is quite badly burned. We still don't know how the fire started. :idon'tknow:

I am glad you were okay too. Years ago the house next to mine burned down. That was pretty dramatic too, but my memory of it all is fading. Cheers.

Got a little more news today.

The fire was started by a lamp falling over and sparking. The little girl woke her father up. He has second and third degree burns on his arms and is still in the hospital.

Thank god she woke her father up in time. The house went up so fast that the inside was completely in flames by the time the fire department arrived.

Wow, it is a good thing she woke her father. It could have been much worse.

smoke damage. They havn't been able to live in it. I'm not sure how much will have to be done to restore it.

I saw the news report on TV. they filmed it from Wissa's balcony. They interviewed Mr. Wissaboo whom I now consider a TV hottie.
