Hmm, had so many...Nancy Drew series, Encyclopedia Brown series, To Kill A Mockingbird, Anne of Green Gables. I worked in the local library from 10-12 years old and read EVERYTHING I could get my hands on.

Another couple of favourites for me & in fact still are is Jane Austens' "Pride & Prejudice" & Louisa May Alcotts "Little Women" & "Good Wives" I read both of those when I was a Teenager and loved them! I was also introduced to Shakespeares work around the same time.

I read Little Women when I was like 11 years-old and I loved it! I also read Little Men but it wasn't as good. I loved Jo and certainly identified with her. Yep... Definately a sign of what was to come I think. :boobfairy: ![]() Rachel ![]() PS... The Beatrix Potter books were great too. The illustrations were so beautiful. |

I completely agree - The Beatrix Potter books are amazing. My favourite story was The Tale of Tom Kitten (in fact I named my cat Tom after him) Where she lived and wrote in the next District to where I live - Cumbria.

Anyone read, or remember, Classics Illustrated? A lot of libaries kept around for reading programs and to promote literacy, these days I've not seen them outside a comic shop in yours. |

I'm a total fan of Pride & Prejudice (have the A&E version on DVD with Colin Firth :swoon: ) and have Sense & Sensibility as well as the "continuation" of Pride & Prejudice by Linda Bertoli ("Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife" and "Days and Nights at Pemberley). God I love those books!

I do remember them Admiral. But they were like un-fun comics to me. I mean compared to the FF, Spidey, etc... Rachel
