Hi guys!!! I love Horsey talk!!! I'll get Rachel to scan a few of my old horse pics and we will post them tomorrow.

I can't remember my first fall but it might have been on a trail ride. I went right over the rental horse's neck and dislocated my shoulder!!

When I was aroung 12 yrs old my friend and I discovered a pony in a neighbour's back yard which was pretty exciting for two horse frenzied 12 year olds!!! It was the back yard of a big huge old house that was all enclosed in trees and shrubs. Of course you were'nt allowed to keep livestock in your back yard in our neighborhood but no one could see so the pony remained there for over a year.

His name was Tom and the owner had picked him up wild in northern b.c. for his daughter. She never had an interest in riding him so the owner let my friend and I come over and ride anytime we wanted as long as we helped clean out the barn.

Tom was ALWAYS tryin to dislodge us in any way possible.
He would run us under the old apple tree, run through the barn door that was only wide enough for his body or he would just plain lie down on top of us!!
We didnt seem to care that we actually were'nt riding him, we were spending most of our time falling off!!

More horse stories to follow,

Sue...BTW that is a beautiful andulusian

Hi guys!

The top picture is of "Maya" . She was the second horse I owned. My first horse was a very old white mare I bought for three hundred dollars with money I earned at a fish and chip shop. I dreamed of having my own horse my whole life and as soon as I was allowed to get a job at 15 years of age I was out there!!!

Maya was a snowflake appaloosa. I think her mother was a full blown Quarter Horse.

The grey arab was my riding teacher's horse...Charcoal Image or "chuck" for short.

I learned to jump on him and he really did make it easy...just point and go!

I have owned two other horses and yes one of them was a graduation present

The horse I was given for grad..."Sherry" was fresh off the track. She was beautiful but not that safe a ride. Sadly I had to sell her because she was too unpredictable. She went to a home on the mainland where her new owner planned to trail ride her for a few years to help settle her down. The last time i heard she was doing really well.

Maya was my favourite...she was so smart and you could take her anywhere on the trail..nothing bothered her. Old train trestles, gravel pits, beaches anywhere,by the highway, on a cliff top...its a wonder i am still alive.

Maybe one day I will have another fantastic horse , if time and money allow.

Love Sue :hugs:

Awww I love the pictures of you and your Horses Sue. I melt whenever I see Horses, they're are amazing Animals! :heartbeat:

I've only ever had one Mare and she lived up to the "Moody Mare" name that's for sure but she would do just about about anything for you.

The first horse that kicked me was a mare  right at the back of the knee cap, had a horse shoe shaped bruise for 2 weeks.

:o Ouch Jadz! :(

MY Mare kicked me once, I was hosing her down and she was being stupid and flicking her hind leg outs and she hit my hand. My fingers were badly bruised but thankfully not broken.

Yeah twice & both before I started riding!

When it comes to Horses I just can't resist going up to them stroking them and twice on different occasions - wearing Sandals I might add - I've been stood on! Didn't break anything either.

The worse part was I had to push the damn Horse off my foot first, it had moved it's leg forward but it was stood still. It would have been better if it had walked over my foot but oh no it just stood there!

I was like  OUCH!

Didn't put me off them though!
