If you haven't been following the news, Israel is currently fighting a two front war in the Middle East: one front is in Palestine and the other is in Southern Lebanon against Hizbullah.

=================

Everyone seems surprised that the situation in the Middle East is spiralling out of control over the capture of 2 Israeli soldiers.

Where other's see coincidence, I see a clear design.

In my opinion, Israel's primary strategic interest is complete pacification of the Middle East. This can only be done through the elimination of its regional enemies. The Arab states are a joke; only Iraq and Iran were serious strategic threats in the post Cold War era.

However, thanks to the American invasion of Iraq, both of these threats have been eliminated. In my opinion, all of this diplomatic flurry over Iran's nuclear weapons are just a cover to apply pressure to Iran from getting involved in the latest edition of the Arab-Israeli conflict; this time, Israel is going to go all out.

All of the surrounding territories (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc) have effectively either been pacified or are just small fries anyway.

Iraq is in a complete state of anarchy. Iran can't pass through Iraq in order aid the Palestinians/Hizbullah because the Americans are there. If they try, the Americans will attack from Afghanistan. Afghanistan won't rebel against the Americans because their bases have been occuped (central asia and Pakistan).

Wow. Now thats what I call a geostrategy. Israel can do what it wants in that region without worrying about anything.

It isn't a coincidence that the actions of the US government in the past few years have been extremely beneficial to the state of Israel. The War in Afghanistan and Iraq serve no other true political, economic, or ideological gain. Everyone knows that democracy will begin eroding the second American forces leave. Furthermore, the entire region has been radicalized against both America and the Western world as a whole. Lastly, the economic gains of the war (oil) are just a marginal benefit. The only logical explanation then, is the scenario I've described above.

The only questions that remain are: what happens next and who is going to do something about it?

May Allah (swt) grant security to the believers, victory to the oppressed, and the destruction of the oppressors. Ameen.

Assalam Alaykum,

Exactly. I'm thinking though about what's going to happen in the next couple of weeks/months?

I have a feeling things are going to get more out of control and other countries like Syria and Jordan will also get involved.

All in all, I hope whatever happens, happens for the best. It's a sticky situation.

May Allah s.w.t protect the Muslims and give them strenght and sabr.

For some reason, i'm not surprised Israel went ahead and attacked. And the two soldiers who got captured were just a silly little excuse so that they could go ahead and attack.

Walaykumasalam

Ameen to the duas.

I completely agree, the soldiers being abducted is just an excuse for Israel to execute plans that were in the making for a long time.

Its good to see the Palestinians and Lebanese standing up to them.

I'm curious to see what strategic moves will be done next.

The Beginning of the End.

Looking back the current Israeli PM seems to make Sharon look a little more amenable. I don't know.

But May Allah give us the Patience to bear all of this. And may Peace be restored ASAP. Ameen.

Ameen.

I don't know, but I sense a lot of optimism.

Pressures have been building for a long time in that region and its finally beginning to get released. There's a difference between the situation of the Muslims now and before. Egypt's Muslim brotherhood is playing a much more active role, HAMAS has won the elections in Palestine, Saudi Arabia is moving more towards Traditional Islam, Turkey has an Islamic party in power, Iraq is no londer under a secular tyranny, etc. Even Somalia is moving towards Islamization.

Israel's insane behavior seems to mimick a rabid dog that knows its survival is in question.

The problem is that the only way the Israeli's know how to act is through violence, intimidation, and terror. They'll keep attacking, but this will only create a reaction against them.

For example, Israel invaded Lebanon in order to take out the Palestinian activists that were there and also to play a role in the Lebanese civil war. However, their movement into Lebanon created a reaction in the form of Hizbullah, which has become a successful military movement. Interestingly enough, its based off of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that was set up after the Islamic Revolution.

In my opinion, the number one goal of Western countries in this region is to prevent that Islamic Revolution from spreading; but its spreading into virtually all Muslim countries.

They plan and they plan, but Allah (swt) is the best of planners.

To add in, I visited the main Israeli newspaper Haaratz's website recently and they have an anti-current-war argument section with a good number of participants. Not to mention an article criticising the Israel gov. It seems even their society has split and b/c polarized.

But Allah knows best.

Assalam Alaykum,

And so the situation worsens. It's on the News, in the Papers. What's sad is how the other Muslim Nations are quiet and not helping their Brothers and Sisters in Need. This is the third Country that was attacked, and no one has helped. It's so frustrating. *deep breath* Why are the people, the Muslim governments so afraid to speak out? :-/

I have a feeling Iran and Syria too will be attacked.

May Allah s.w.t protect the true Mujahideen, the innocent and the weak. May he increase our Imaan and unite and strenghten the Muslim Ummah.

Ma'asalamah

Ameen.

We love the dunya and we fear death, thats our problem.

Until we change our intentions to please Allah (swt), the situation won't change.

I thought Lebanon was a Christian country? :ph43r:

It was carved out of Syria by the French in order to be a safe haven for Maronite Christians, but the level of conversion and the population growth of Muslims is radically changing the democraphics of this country.

I think its either a majority Muslim country or its on the verge of becoming one.

Thats amazing. Usually converts are conservative Muslims, but Lebanon (Beirut) is known to be the "party" city of all the Middle East. Wine and women abound.

The Arabs before Islam were pretty hardcore party goers.
