"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla
Tohea is in archive mode, but the legend lives on. |

Tohea is a relatively new land, only settled within the last decade and still generally unexplored. There is only one major inhabited city on the island, Exire, and unfortunately many of its citizens are mistrusting at best of Pokémon trainers. It only takes one idiot with a Gyarados losing his marbles to remind people of exactly what trainers are capable of, and the events of the Great War are still relatively fresh in the minds of many of its older citizens. Regardless, trainers in general are still allowed within city limit - they are simply banned from having their Pokémon out of their Pokeballs or engaging in Pokémon battles. Individuals vary significantly; some will harangue trainers, others are perfectly fine with them, and others don't care either way so long as the individual trainer doesn't start trouble. While Exire as a whole is mildly inhospitable to trainers, that's not a huge issue; the severe lack of wild Pokémon alone would make it a relatively unpopular location for trainers to congregate, and most trainers on Tohea are there to explore anyways, not sit around all day in the nearest fast food restaurant. Some trainers do possess lodgings in Exire; others stay permanently on the go, camping each night. The discovery of New Haven upset that balance, providing free, consistent lodgings far from the unpleasantness of Exire. While much of the rest of the city-island is hilariously unsafe on the best of days, to the point that even most trainers don't really bother trying to explore it, the spread of apartments in New Haven are consistently guarded by three massive elemental golems, which someone eventually realized were freaking Regirock, Regice, and Registeel themselves; they evince no particular personalities of their own, nor do they seem to hold any interest in trainers beyond trying to avoid walking into them or keeping them from blowing up New Haven themselves. Given that they are both effectively impregnable and completely insensate, even the most curious of trainers eventually learns to just ignore the titans and let them do their thing. Tohea as a continent is remarkably inconsistent - rather than progressing from cold to hot or vice versa, the climates of major areas are completely incongruous with everything around them, likely due to the Pokémon that help shape their habitats; this occasionally makes navigation extremely difficult for newer trainers, but most people eventually learn to live with it and either memorize landmarks or get really good at reading maps... based off of landmarks. |
