(Updated when the fancy strikes us)
"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

The Staff Request Thread is basically what it says on the tin - a thread wherein you request something from the staff of Tohea. More specifically, this translates to profile updates, journey updates, battle refs, plots, pretty much anything you need a staff member for. There are certain guidelines and rules to be mindful of, though, so please keep the following in mind!

As a general rule: you must have a link to your profile in your sig, and you must provide an easily-accessible link to whichever topic needs staff attention should you require a battle/journey ref or plot update. You can link to the topic in-post or in your sig, so long as you make it clear which journey you are referring to.

Regarding profile updates: please make it clear exactly what needs to be changed, and provide links to any information needed to verify the change. Ex: if you caught a Pokémon in-journey, say as much, and specify on which page it was caught.

Below is a more specific list of rules, including when you do and don't need to request a ref.

  • Requests are done on a first-come, first-serve basis. If we deem that your post does not meet quality minimums or breaks any rules, we will delete the request and inform you via PM of the nature of the issue. Do not re-request without fixing the issue.

  • You do not need a ref in order to interact with other players or interact with the environment, wild Pokémon, or NPCs in a manner that does not grant mechanical advantages to yourself or break any rules. Character plot battles, conversing with friends, petting a wild Phanpy then watching it run away, wandering around aimlessly, or getting run over by a Tauros can all be done on your own.

  • A staff member is required in order to gain a mechanical advantage, which translates to XP, RXP, Pokémon, Pokeballs, discovering unique hidden areas, that sort of thing.

  • Catching a Pokémon, assuming that you already have a Pokeball free, merely requires that a staff member doublecheck your math and OK it; this counts as a profile update but can otherwise be done entirely on your own unless you want to first battle the Pokémon for experience, in which case you need a battle ref.

  • Battle refs are generally done by staff, but you may opt to fill in your own battle ref, then submit a request here to have a staff member OK it. Should the staff member deny your request, they will instead ref it themselves, no second chances. You're free to attempt again next round. They are generally simply a rough overview of how the round went, showing each Pokémon's HP and the ref's reasoning; you are free to roleplay the events out yourself.

  • Clan/Group Quests are run solely by their leader; you can effectively ignore this topic until the end of the quest, at which point a staff member is required to check over everything, grade for RXP, that sort of thing. Solo quests, as in those run by a specific member, require regular posts in this topic to get updated.

  • You are welcome to request a ref simply to spice up a journey, come up with a quest on the fly, or introduce a NPC, should you not feel like doing those things yourself. Please note that staff members will proactively insert themselves into a topic should they feel that you are deserving of having discovered a unique area; do not request area discoveries in this topic!

The staff of Tohea reserve the right to delete any request based on their judgement, though we will generally attempt to contact you to hash things out first if possible.
