Non-Weekly Quote:
(Updated when the fancy strikes us)
"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

A little battle experience would probably help with trying to learn a more powerful attack, but the chances of her learning anything in the fight itself were slim. Still, at least it proved to be a good way for her to relax, and release some of that tension from move learning that she must be feeling. And it did prove she was capable of using an Ice type attack... just not a very strong one, or one at all connected with her fist.

The Pidgey had apparently gotten bored of watching Jadis try to learn Ice Punch, and started pecking at the ground, going after some bits of potato chip someone had dropped earlier. He was completely oblivious to your attack. The first thing to hit the little bird was a wave of cold air, making a teeny bit of frost form on his feathers. He ruffled them angrily, it wasn't supposed to snow yet! He should have weeks left before he got so cold... And then out of nowhere... BAM! A Pound right to his fuzzy rear end.

By the time the Pidgey had pulled himself up to his feet again, he'd finally clued into the fact that he was being attacked, not that the weather was changing early. Turning around, he shrieked with fury, flapping his little wings so fast they almost blurred, and drove forward, landing a solid Tackle on Jadis. Somehow, you got the distinct impression that that was his best move. And you had totally pwned him in that round, by the way.

Jadis squealed in delight as both of her attacks hit one after the other. It was exciting, actually managing to gain the upper hand in a battle for the first time, and behind her Kitty was feeling the same excitement. She could hear her trainer calling out to her that she should Stretch out her muscles to give her a sort of temporary speed and attack boost, and this sounded like a good idea.

She took a second to stretch out her muscles, rotating her shoulders and feeling the relief it brought, and the improvement to her agility. Kitty added that she should then try and Pound the Pidgey once again, as it had worked reasonably well the time before.

The Smoochum disagreed, though, and instead she concentrated hard on channeling the Ice type power inside her. She had noted her trainer's disappointment with her as an Ice Pokémon who found it difficult to use Ice type moves, but she really was only a baby. She did not want to have a disappointed trainer though, not at all, and after feeling suitably ready to attack after stretching herself out, she inhaled sharply and opened her mouth. Between her teeth formed a ball of frosty energy that grew quickly. Surprised, she shut her mouth and it fell to the floor, smashing into billions of tiny ice crystals.

Kitty's eyes widened as she noticed this, and she nodded encouragingly. "Keep going, do that again," she said. Jadis complied, and the Ice type ball of energy formed once again, though small, and she managed to spit it with little difficulty towards the Pidgey.

((Generic Ice type move, btw, not Ice anything else. =3))

It was a thin line to walk, with your Pokémon refusing your orders mid-battle. It could be a sign of them not trusting you, or just not liking you. Or, it could be a sign of them being able to read the battle better than you, and you trusting them to do what was necessary. Only time would tell, of course.

The Pidgey, very unimpressed with the way the fight was going, was readying itself for a tackle. It fluffed up its feathers, cooed as fiercely as it possibly could, and flapped its wings furiously, charging forward. You and Jadis might be in for some trouble... except for the fact that Jadis was simultaneously charging up her ranged Ice attack. It met the Pidgey halfway, frosting over the Pidgey's feathers, slowing its body... and sending it crashing to the ground unconscious.

Congratulations! Jadis had finally won a battle, and had maybe even gained a little confidence with Ice type moves. The Pidgey on the ground certainly wasn't going to cause you any more trouble anytime soon, and you could even capture it if you like. Jadis would almost certainly need a rest in a Pokémon Center though, before you tried another battle. She would regain HP slowly though, as long as you weren't in battle. You COULD try learning some more powerful Ice type moves again, now that there wasn't a battle to distract you.

(Jadis has gained 50 EXP and grew to level 6! The Pidgey, should you chose to catch it, has gained 30 EXP. Your profile has been updated as well!)
