  • She had to go; Cherie had to go. The boat ride was long as the restrooms were crowded, so she held it in. Pushing past the crowds, Cherie ran around town looking for a restroom. First store was full, second store was full, third store was full, and so on and so forth. Then off to the distance was a small and quaint park. Cherie quivered as her legs shook back and forth. The only place in sight was the blue outhouse!

Cherie looked to her left and then to her right; nobody was there. Good! Cherie knew that if any of her friends had seen her in this state she would have been dead. So, she rushed over towards the "toilet" and slowly opened the door as she pinched her nose. It was clean. Then without a spare moment to lose Cherie let out her starter Pokémon, Diggy the Diglett.

"Diggy, I want you to stay out here and make sure nobody gets in okay," commanded Cherie.

"Dig! Dig." Diggy replied back as Cherie went in to the relieving area.

Cherie looked around for some form of toilet paper and gasped when she realized there were none. So, the young woman tried her best as she hung her purse around her neck. As she went, she looked around carefully noting the somewhat cleanliness of the place. All of a sudden Cherie could hear a vibrating noise. It was coming from the floor.

Cherie cocked her head to her left as she watched in bewilderment as Diggy popped out of the ground.

"Diggy, what are you doing in here? I thought I told you to guard the front door," said the bewildered Cherie. This was going on as Cherie finished up. Cherie started to scream as Diggy inched over towards her. "Diggy, what's wrong with you? Stop doing that."

Diggy ignored his trainer's screams as he let out a wild cry. He had a clear view.

That was when Cherie realized that Diggy was a perv. Pulling up her undergarments and pants, Cherie took a swing at Diggy with her giant purse, but the creature simply dodged it by retreating into the ground. Cherie began again with another swing just as Diggy went into his hole.

"Diggy, this ends now. Return to your pokeball!" Cherie screamed. She threw Diggy's pokeball at the creature as it simply went into the hole. "OH, that's not gonna stop me, Diggy." Cherie stepped forward inching her face towards the hole. Her left hand fingered Diggy's pokeball carefully as a red stream of light surrounded the troublemaker. Cherie began to laugh at her dominance. She had won the battle. But then the woman stopped laughing when the red light was repelled back. "OMG!"

Cherie rushed forward, opening the door to her torture cage. Outside, she stared bewilderedly at Diggy, or was it? Diggy looked at his trainer carefully.

    "Dig?" he replied.

Cherie turned her head back into the portable, gasping when she realized the truth. Then she heard the same cry she had heard a couple of seconds ago. Cherie looked outside once more as she saw two Diggys standing next to each other. The Diggy on the right grinned and quickly ducked into his hole as Cheri fumed. Diggy stared into the small hole next to him; the other Diggy was long gone.

"Diggy, I think I might need a drink," Cherie quietly said as she slowly slinked down to the ground.

[OOC note: even temporarily spawning another Pokémon in a journey start is illegal. I'll ref anyways, working under the assumption that the other Diglett is permagone, but if something like this happens again, your request will be denied until you remedy the godmodding. It's not terribly serious since you didn't get any benefit from it, just an FYI for future reference.]

One tequila, two tequila, three terqiula... floor.

Having what looked suspiciously like an exceptionally wide phallus watching you while you tried to go to the bathroom was probably not the best introduction to this wonderous new land of Pokémon and the national sport of wild animals beating the living bejeebus out of each other with every breath for the satisfaction of their masters. At least nothing had gone seriously wrong, per se; you hadn't been attacked or lost a chunk of your leg, the pervy Diglett probably hadn't taken pictures, and you had assuaged your needs by answering the call of nature.

Besides, you were a trainer! You couldn't let silly little things like dignity or self-respect or common sense stop you! Go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb and all that, yeah? Just gotta suck it up, pull yourself together, and keep going. Or waffle indecisively in shellshock on the ground in front of a Honey Bucket. Your call, really, though the racket from earlier, in conjunction with your muffled scream, had drawn some attention; a young woman, definitely several years younger than you, was hesitantly approaching. "Um. Drinking isn't good for you. But, um, are you alright? I heard something and came to see if I could help, but..."

She trailed off, rubbing the back of her head indecisively. Pink tank, brown hair tied back; definitely pretty, though at the same time she didn't look any older than fifteen, maybe sixteen. More of a tourist or trainer - not that the two were necessarily disconnected - than a park worker, definitely, given her confused and slightly nervous expression. "Is there anything I can do...?" At least her heart was in the right place, even if she had no idea what was going on or what to do.

  • Wallowing in her pit of misery, Cherie Hanes was suspended in a state of disbelief and lost dignity. Cherie reminded herself that she was an adult; she should not let this get to her. But, it was no use. She did not know what to do, and soon it got worse. Cherie's fears were heightened as soon as Cherie spied a young female approaching her at an alarming rate. Cherie's brain began to go into overdrive mode. What was she going to do?

"Oh, no, I'm fine!" exclaimed Cherie. Her cheeks flashed a hot pink color; Cherie cursed herself for causing such an embarrassing scene. Next, she placed her hand on her forehead as she stood up, leaning against the portable. Laughing nervously, Cherie shifted her eyes away from the girl's stare. "I just got here from the dock, and I guess I got a bit seasick on the way here."

"Dig?" Diggy said bewilderingly. He did not no what was going on, but he knew Cherie was lying. He couldn't understand why his trainer was lying; the only thing that he knew for sure was there was a stranger attempting to help Cherie. Without a thought, Diggy burrowed into the ground, giving the ladies some privacy. His feet dug further and further into the ground, until Diggy felt comfortable. Surrounded by the loamy soil of the park area, Diggy looked up at the blue sky, hanging onto all of the words his trainer said.

Diverting her eyes, Cherie brushed the loose pieces of grass on her skirt off as she continued her crusade for damage-control. Then, she stood up straight and turned her head towards the strange girl. "I'm fine really. Thanks for your concern, but anyway I'm Cherie. And my Diglett here is Diggy."

And right on cue, Diggy reappeared from the underground.

"But enough about me. What's your name?" Cherie asked.

The girl smiled brightly at you. "I'm very pleased to meet you," she said. "My name is Chrissy... and this is my Dunsparce...," she said, flushing a little at the fact that she hadn't bothered to give her Pokémon a nickname. A somewhat sullen looking Dunsparce shuffled around a bush, looking bored. At least, it looked as bored as an odd, winged-worm-mole-thing could look. "I haven't had him very long... I don't think he likes me yet. He was a present from my brother." she explained.

"But anyway, I'm really glad you're not seasick anymore. I got seasick once, it was horrible," she said, seeming to be the kind of girl who really liked to chat. "So what brings you to Tohea?" It appeared that you'd found one of the few people on Tohea who wasn't a hardcore trainer. This could be good, if you were after a battle that wasn't likely to hurt your Diggy. Or maybe you weren't the kind of person who liked to pick fights on people who were obviously not very good at it. Either way, it's entirely possible that she could show you the sights, or at least give you directions to somewhere more interesting. Of course, you could always just have a friendly chat, Chrissy seemed quite up for that.

The Dunsparce, in the meantime, had crawled forward to investigate Diggy, looking vaguely more interested in a fellow Pokémon than he had been towards either his trainer or you. So far, he appeared to be being friendly, but how would Diggy respond to such overtures? Such mysteries of a Digglet's mind could only be guessed at!

  • "Well, I'm not really sure, why." said Cheri, "I sorta don't really know what to do. I mean you can a trainer that battle gyms, or a coordinator that goes to contests. I like to keep my options open, I guess I'm sort of a trainer/coordinator hybrid if such a thing exists."

Did that even exist? Cheri had no idea for the thought had never came to her mind. A coordinator's job is to make their Pokémon beautiful, but essentially isn't that the same as battling? This was hard, extremely hard. Cheri knew that she wanted to be some sort of a trainer, but what kind? There were so many possibilities. She could be a trainer, a coordinator, a breeder, or even a lab researcher. How could anyone possibly stick to a specific type? There were no blacks or whites regarding being a trainer; just like many things in life it was a mixture of grey. This was extremely frustrating to Cherie. She hated being this indecisive.

Eventually her mind wandered towards that of her Diglett, who was through her eyes conversing with the Dunsparce.

"You like to dig?" Diggy asked. Diggy made an assumption that the Dunsparce was capable of digging. Of course, he assumed all land-dwelling Pokémon were capable of digging a hole. "You watch me dig a hole." With that, Diggy burrowed into the ground with his feet digging at the earthy soil. Soon, he resurfaced next to the Dunsparce with a smile on his face.

"Hey, it looks like they're friends," Cherie said. A faint smile appeared on the young woman's lips; she was glad due to the fact that her friend was able to make a new friend. "Oooh, I have an idea. Chrissy, let's battle. That way both of us can practice our coordinator and trainer skills."

"I - wh, what?" She stumbled backwards a step or two, raising one hand to her mouth in surprise and an overactive defense mechanism. "I'm not, I don't even know how to, well I mean I'm a trainer but, not a trainer trainer!" Another step backwards, both arms waving frantically like she was staring into headlights. "I - I'm not sure this is a good idea! Um, why me? If-if you want a good fight, I'm, err, I'm sure that there are actually good trainers around to fight... haha..."

Chrissy slumped slightly, her shoulders falling along with her arms. "I mean I'm technically a trainer but I've never actually - that is, Dunsparce hasn't fought, this is a bad idea..." She trailed off again, obviously trying not to panic. It was an interesting change of pace from her attempt to help you earlier - it seemed that she drew her limited courage from trying to help people, not from any sort of self-preservation instinct or competitive spirit, if her ineffectual flailing at this point was any indication. Whether or not she actually had potential as a trainer, it was buried under this mass of insecurity.

Amusingly, actually getting her into a battle might be the best thing for the poor girl - even if she lost, the only way to cure serious issues like that was to work through them. The difficulty might be in getting her to agree, though she didn't seem to have the ability to really defend herself; the battle itself would likely be pretty easy unless the Dunsparce was a legendary tactician. Spoilers: prrrrrobably not. Them again, you're a trainer, not a psychiatrist. No one would blame you if you just wanted to back the heck away and leave her to wallow in her own failure. It might be worthwhile to go through the effort to cultivate a rival, or perhaps a friend - but only you could make that choice.

  • "Oh, I see," said Cheri. Cheri immediately raised her right eyebrow in accordance to Chrissy's reaction. Chrissy definitely portrayed signs of insecurities. However, Cheri did not know how to help Chrissy overcome her fear of battling. After all, Cheri, herself, had never battled before, so technically the two of them were in the same non-existent boat. Cheri walked a little closer to Chrissy, but too close. She placed her hands directly on her hips and warmly smiled towards the scared teen."Look, don't worry Chrissy. I mean I've never had a battle before as well. Who cares if you lose? That's just part of the experience. "

Cherie looked around the park for a trainer; With her right hand hovering above her eyebrows, Cherie's head bobbed left to right and right to left. She did not find a thing; there were no trainers around. Cheri knew Chrissy was in no mood to fight a battle alone; she would just freak out and cry or something. Cheri needed to find two trainers that way Cheri could give Chrissy the self-esteem boost she clearly needed, when it comes to battling against others. After all, they were both trainers. You can't be a trainer if you don't want to battle.

"Come on, Chrissy," said Cheri. Cheri lifted her bag, so it hanged around her left arm. She quickly whipped out her cell phone and immediately went onto the internet. She was searching for a map of the city, looking for some trainer hot spots. "I think there's a Pokécenter near by, and you know what that means don't you. There's going to be plenty of trainers to battle. Let's go, Chrissy."

She motioned Chrissy to follow her as she began to walk out of the sullen park. Diggy was carefully trailing behind though he was underground. He always knew when his trainer was about to leave; he had grown used to his trainer's mannerisms. His non-existent ears perked up when he heard his trainer calling out for a battle. He loved battles. After all, he was a trainer's Pokémon, and therefore he had to love battles.

Piiiiikaffet!
At your further pestering to battle, Chrissy seemed to turn bright red, flustered and embarrassed. She couldn't really bring her self to say no to you, see seemed to be one of those easily pushed over types. "Ah, but, I-I-I... What?" She stutter-mumbled, but by the time she composed her self, you were already off, and she found her self just staring at your back. Her Dunsparce nudged at the back of her leg, urging her to follow behind you. Clumbsily she scooped up her Pokémon and briskly walked to catch up.

"Are you saying we should, double battle?" Were the first words that came out of her mouth when she caught up. Her mouth held the shape of the last syllables she spoke, as if it were a testament to her shock and surprise. She gripped her Dunsparce tightly in her arms, its little wings fluttering due to the slight discomfort. It wiggled a bit, notifying its trainer that she was holding on a little to much. "Oh, I'm sorry Dunsparce!" She exclaimed loosening her grip.

The two of you walked towards the Pokémon center, it wasn't a long walk, not at all, you both made it there in no time flat. And luckily there happened to be a few trainers out and about, two of them were getting ready to use one of the battle courts just off to the side of the center. It looked rough, and had all kinds of scorch marks, and dents, probably from previous battles. The two that stood there ready to battle looked pretty similar to one another, same color hair, almost the same length, and even the same eye color. The only thing separating the two, well besides the difference in clothing and the Pokémon standing between them, is that one bore an eye patch over his right eye. Between the two of them stood their Pokémon, a floppy eared short Pokémon with crosses for eyes, and a fluffy sheep.
:whismur VS :mareep
It seemed the both of them were getting ready for a battle. The both stood in battle poses, like they themselves were going to engage in fisticuffs. It seemed there were about to issue orders, but suddenly the one with both eyes paused when he saw the two of you. "Whoa, wait Bro, hot chicks coming our way, I'll call them over."

"No, Kyle that really isn't neces-"

"YO! HOT CHICKS, OVER HERE!" the man shouted out, staring right at you and Chrissy, waving his hand all the while. You could totally go over to the both of them and talk. Though there would probably be a good amount of flirting going on and whatnot, but the other with the eye patch looked at the both of you, seemingly rather annoyed that their battle was interrupted.
