"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

No matter how long you'd been in Ayer, there was always something new to find. Just as your family was hoping to open a new attraction of their own, the many and varied residents of the sea-side town never failed to impress. On your way through town, heading toward whichever edge you so preferred to begin your adventure to capture all the water type Pokemon you could, there had been a number of sights. From trainers out with their Pokemon for a stroll - or a battle, in two cases - to a funky coordinator practicing a dancing appeal with her trusty Meditite, there were sights to be seen and acquaintances to make. With your new Eevee by your side, it was almost as amazing to note that Shaka wasn't sleeping; all the other sights and events of note drew just as much attention from your Pokemon as they did from other passers-by. Of course, the entire world didn't revolve around Pokemon, and there was just as much bustling city life to witness amongst those who had no Pokeballs about thier person. Merchants selling their wares, from fruits and berries to sunglasses and imported knockoff purses, the entire gamut of industry was out in full force on the streets this fine Friday afternoon. The sun beat down on you as the average height of buildings decreased - never that tall to begin with, apart from downtown, the sprawling nature of Ayer started to make itself evident to you as it just... kept going. At this rate, you wouldn't manage to escape the first town before encountering another, unless you happened to wind up face-first in the ocean. But you weren't alone, aside from the screaming caws of the Wingull that soared through the air high above, and someone wanted to make themselves known. Shouting from behind you, a trainer with a purple furred Pokemon was trying to get your attention, running in your wake until she came to a halt not far away. "You! Hey YOU!" she challenged, her short dark hair bobbing as she caught her breath, eyes narrowed in your direction. "Where do you think you're going?" It was obviously a rhetorical question, but the punkish girl was trying to goad some sort of response out of you. Putting her hand on her hip and turning her nose to the sky in a proud stance, she decided to clarify just why she'd stalked you for god knew how long. "My name's Mina and I'm a Pokemon collector! I study the rarest Pokemon," she introduced, "- and I couldn't help but notice that you've got an Eevee there! I challenge you to a battle, so I can see it in action!" She certainly seemed excitable; and as she opened her eyes again and looked down at Shaka by your legs, a fiery fervor came across her features. "I've never seen one in person before, but I know they're the rarest of the rare! My Stunky here -" so that was the source of the rotten egg odor that just drifted over to you - "comes all the way from Sinnoh, but still not as interesting as your Eevee! What do you say? If I win, I get to study your Pokemon - if you win, I'll leave you alone!" ![]() Duke, Level 6
