"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

It's been years since Orion was a tabloid face in Ayer. From a young age the boy may have been high in civilian status but with his sudden disappearance to Kanto more children of important people gained the spotlight resulting in the general public completely forgetting about the child of one of their retired councilmen. With a fresh start Orion could build a name for himself in Tohea, not living by the name he was born into. Tohea's culture nowadays is focused on heroes and trainers who accomplish something and make names for themselves rather than the people behind the scenes. Because in all honesty someone who can save thirty orphans from a burning orphanage or command creatures capable of shooting kelvin-hot fire from their mouths is way more interesting than people who push pencils and make laws and such. Ayer hasn't changed all that much in the years Orion spent in Kanto. The city itself is still known as the pleasant harbor with an easy-going attitude, folks here generally friendly to anyone. There quite honestly isn't much teen life here, however. Most teens who grow up in Ayer rush out of the town as soon as possible to explore the different boroughs of the island. That's not to say there's nothing to do in Ayer, however; many people tend to start their journey as a trainer here, actually. The aquatic Pokemon that frequent the bay area attract some trainers for the chance of their first battle while the more urban Pokemon seen browsing the city attract a crowd of their own. Crawling along a wooden dock that expands from the shoreline was a peculiar pink Pokemon. The creature seemed to be a sea slug that has recently made an expedition onto the world above the salt-water it was born into. This wild Pokemon perhaps would be a perfect companion for Orion, it to beginning a journey in a land familiar yet so full of adventure. Of course if the water-type slug wasn't in Orion's fancy the trainer still had other options; he could always make his way out of the town onto either of the routes. The more rural Route 1 leading to the frozen village of Emerslope while the coastal passage Route 7 leads over the mountains and through the woods to the metropolis of Kadaraa. :wshellos Level 4

The sun overhead, beat down upon Orion, like a malicious god, unyielding and relentless in hopes to make its subjects weak and tremble under its power. Orion’s hand cupped over his hand, blocking his eyes from the harsh sun, as he tried to peer across the never ending ocean. Under his squinting eyes, were blue sapphires, that were searching, for what he hadn’t known quite yet. It felt like ages ago that Orion had stood up to his father, letting him know he would not go into the family business as many had expected him, and with this newfound relief of not being under the scrutiny of the public entrepreneurial eye, He was going to pursue what he fell in love with In Kanto; Pokémon. Having obtained his starter, Orion wanted nothing more than to commence his journey, in an attempt to become a Pokémon master, and befriend as many Pokémon as possible. Orion took a deep breath, his hand falling from his head. Though he was excited to leave the town of Ayer…his birthplace, and where he grew up for the most part, but due to that fact, due to the fact that he’d be leaving his family once again, his sister who was in the hospital on a weekly basis. He was leaving home… Orion shook his head, pulling himself out of the dream world. ” No. Home is where the heart is. And my heart says I want to be a Pokémon master” He told himself, afterward feeling like an over dramatic episode of a soap opera. Orion smiled… but was distracted as a small coo came from his feet. ”Ralts?” the small Pokémon asked in a concerned tone, its little arm pulling on Orion’s pant leg. Truth be told, Orion forgot about the Pokémon…not the best start for a Pokémon trainer, but he was brand new to this, he’d get the hang of it. He looked down, a smile on his face. ”Don’t worry Arthur… Pre-home sickness is all it is” Orion tried to brush the feeling off, having remembered his partner was an empathy, and could feel the emotions of those around. The thought of an empathetic Pokémon, both excited and scared him, for he wouldn’t be able to hide anything from his little partner, though why he would want to was beyond him. With his Pokémon calmed, and no longer concerned, Orion returned his gaze to the crashing waves upon the beach. It’s constant push and pull nature was relieving for some reason, knowing nothing was set and stone, and the world was always in motion. Taking one more, larger sigh, Orion decided to walk out on a small wooden pier, taking in a large breath of that refreshing ocean breeze, before setting out on his journey. Then there it was… just sitting there, well crawling… well oozing. The thing seemed to not have a care in the world, just sliding by, leaving its trail of…whatever it was. However when it too noticed Orion it stopped, frozen. Then its eyes narrowed and seemingly braced itself for something. Orion cocked his head, confused at the gesture, Arthur mimicking his trainers action, both utterly baffled. It looked like it was going to attack, but he wasn't entirely sure... perhaps it was only being territorial? Orion lowered himself, squatting down, in hopes to be at a more eye level. He didn't want to seem any more threatening than needed, and of course Arthur, his ralts, huddled up against his leg. Edited by Orion Sage, Sep 13 2010, 05:24 PM.

[[ooc: Please make sure to include a link to your journey and profile in your signature! thanks :) ]] "Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell!" The small Shellos backed away from you, a look of slight aggression and annoyance crossing it's silly looking features. It's thick yellow lips were pursed, trying to look as serious as a pink slug possibly can. Obviously it wasn't being belligerent, it just wanted to know what you wanted from it! To it, you looked like a big predator. You probably wanted to fry it up in a vegetable oil, stick it on a boiler, and baby, you've got a stew going! The poor Pokémon had probably had a tough life. Born on the beach, sisters and brothers abandoned by their mother. When they finally hatched, they probably had to scramble off to the water, all the while being picked off by Wingull and Spearow! This Shellos, having survived for this long on it's own, was therefor slightly tougher and a little bit more hardened than an average Pokémon. Not even the beaches of Ayer were kind to a small creature like that. You could see that as it inched back from you, it held something under it in it's tiny little leg-paw-things. To someone who was not bent down studying the little Shellos, it would be virtually unnoticeable. The Pokémon looked down, noticing that you had noticed the object. With a haughty grunt, it showed you it's personal treasure. It rustled as the Shellos grabbed it with it's mouth to show it to you. It was a simple plastic bag, but to that Shellos, it may as well have been a gigantic diamond. "Shell.....?" It was asking you to comment, how did you like it's bag? It was plastic, for sure. In small blue letters it said "Ayer Pokémart: Best Quality Non-Recyclable." Very....impressive? |
