"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

Maria Svab's Pokemon Haven

Fifty miles of habitat untouched by human development - the Safari Zone gives hundreds of different Pokemon a home to live in without having to compete with humans for space in the environment. Established by the renown Pokemon enthusiast Maria Svab, is home to many species of Pokemon deemed to be endangered or diminishing in their natural wild habitats on the island of Tohea. Maria, a soft-spoken lady in her fifties has created a non-profit organization that helps trainers interact with wild Pokemon they would normally not encounter in the Tohea Region. Building the establishment was a ten year project to capture every natural ecosystem that seemed to be declining in Tohea due to urbanization. Along with ecosystems that are declining Maria has built unique environments not found on Tohea's mainland, which has allowed import of species that would never be found on Tohea. The work of the enthusiast was geared toward helping species of Pokemon exist naturally once again as well as to serve as a tool for trainers to learn more about these exotic creatures.

The Safari Zone is divided into four different ecosystems, each housing a multitude of different species of Pokemon. While each area is equal in size each area has a different layout and environmental features which attract different Pokemon to different sections. A list of the sectors and their explanations are below.

Jungle Sector Also known as the Rainforest of Tohea this humid landscape is home to many grass- and bug- type Pokemon as well as the occasional predatory or bird Pokemon who fits into the environment. 70% of this 12-mile sector is crowed with tree life, the rest being either pools of water or decomposing plants. It is extremely difficult to navigate the harsh Jungle Sector, especially when one gets deeper into the forest. The ecosystem is maintained by sprinklers that drop up to 3 inches of water daily while heating beacons disguised as normal trees keep the humidity level at an accurate range for tropical rainforests.

Savanna Sector Existing on the edge of the Jungle Sector the Savanna Sector is said to be the jungle's exact opposite. The Pokemon living in this sector are more hardy and depend less on water or plant life as their main food intake. Scanning bird Pokemon, solo scavenger Pokemon and herding herbivorous are the norm. Around 5% of this 12-mile sector is covered in tree life, a great majority of the land being shrubby or savanna grass. Natural-looking rocks provide heat to the savanna sector, keeping the area dry and arid for most of the year while a synthetic monsoon season is created by machinery.

Marsh Sector Almost entirely wiped out of existence long before human involvement with the island of Tohea, the Marsh Sector provides life to Pokemon who are known to thrive in a tropic setting. Many species of water-types can be found in the saline rich river which flows a natural course all throughout the sector. Mangrove trees dominate the banks of the salt-water rivers which deeper in the center of the section are horribly humid marshes that host a multitude of swamp-going Pokemon. Flying types are a bit scarce in this area but ones known to survive around sea-life tend to flock to the mangrove trees for seasonal nesting. The saline-river is formulated scientifically by professionals who were able to synthesize a balance perfect for the formation of the swamp sector.

Psi Field Sector Evidence from fossils and research on the current location of the city of Kadaraa proves the existence of a once great psychic type Pokemon community. While exact details on how the Pokemon existed aren't known Maria has done her best to invest millions on recreating this environment for her personal favorite species of Pokemon. The Psi Field Sector is a simple field with peculiar buildings that seem to serve as sanctuaries for meditation or something of the like. An ever present mental energy is synthetically produced by a core of man-made psychic energy which seems to be effective in attracting and stimulating psychic types. With the massive amount of teeming psychic energy in this area dark- type Pokemon tend to lurk the perimeter during the day, sometimes infiltrating the privacy of the mysterious psychics and causing an uproar.

The Safari Zone is open to trainers who wish schedule a hunting campaign at the cost of $1,000. Before entering the refuge for their hunt trainers are given 10 Safari balls which are the only Poke Ball that work within the confides of the Safari Zone walls due to ever present Psi Field Sector. Trainer's Pokemon are left with the Warden, who will return them upon the end of a trainer's hunt. Trainers' hunts end when they have either used all of their Safari Balls or have chosen to give up. While in the Safari Zone trainers cannot battle wild Pokemon to weaken them to make capturing easier and instead rely on luck and luck alone when it comes to capturing exotic wild Pokemon. Trainers are permitted to bring any item into the park with them.
