Non-Weekly Quote:
(Updated when the fancy strikes us)
"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

(HA! Fruitcake, I love it lol!)

So now the battle was on, well it seemed that your Hoot-hoot certainly had the advantage over the Kricketune as a flying type but at such a low level, could you really bridge that gap with type differences. Well you could only hope so. The boy seemed marginally intrigued with both your selections of Pokémon. Two psychic types? Now this would be interesting.

The boy didn't take too kindly to being called a 'fruitcake' and shouted at you: "I don't know who you think you are, you don't know what you're talking about!" He yelled. Now that all the formalities (or whatever little there was of them) were out of the way the battle could well and truely commence and so attacks followed quickly after.

"Okay Lunatone, start out with a harden and then use Signal Beam on Staryu!" It was unusual for someone to unveil their egg move in the opening stage of a battle but maybe he had his reasons? The boy shouted to his two Pokémon; "Kricketune, use bide and Staryu use a harden then water gun on Lunatone!" Your Hoot-hoot had no command from you that turn so fluttered around to try and avoid any oncoming attacks.

Kricketune tensed all muscles in his body and braced himself for any attacks. Stary and Lunatone began glowing and flashing a quick steely silver colour before returning to normal. Harden had worked its wonders. Lunatone then levitated back and quickly shot forward and from it's mouth came a glowing stream of green and red light whilst a jet of clear water came from the tip of Staryu's head. Both attacks hit as both attackers were focussing there attacks. (That's a lot of attacks in one sentence.)

Richard knew the effects of bide and what it could do if successful. He was smart enough to know to make every effort to avoid being caught in it. So now the staryu and the lunatone were facing off. The staryu easily had an advantage. The lunatone could really use some help. So why not?

Richard had his strategy for now. Ignore the kricketune and help out lunatone. But what attacks to use? A tackle wouldn't do much since harden was in effect. And Richard knew the disadvantages of gust from his battle with Emera. But what if...

"Psyche, use tackle, then gust on the staryu!"

(Just to let you know your post is a bit...bitty. It doesn't flow right, i'll ref it this time but you need to watch where you pit your full stops.)

Smart move ignoring Kricketune and focussing on Staryu. It seemed that Staryu definitely had a slight advantage over Lunatone, but with two on one it would be much easier to battle and take one out wouldn't it? Lunatone seemed to have taken a fair bit of damage from your last round of attacks but at least this time aroun you had given a command to your Pokémon.

Kricketune was still bracing itself and slowly he was beginning to shake showing stored energy. Only problem was that there was really no energy to store as no-one had attacked him yet. Staryu was spinning in the air. It was interesting how Staryu, with no wings or psychic abilities could hover in the air for such a length of time, but you were more interested in the battle i'm sure.

"Lunatone, use signal beam again on Staryu and then a confusion!" The clerk said, it seemed he didn't want to attack Kricketune either, well at least you both knew how to handle this attack. Whilst Lunatone sent forward his beam of lights again, Psyche ran forward with a tackle. Both attacks hit and neither cancelled each other out.

Then Lunatone proceeded to use Confusion and the Staryu hovered but this time much differently, he was in pain, which on your part was a good thing, Psyche then flapped his wings at Staryu whilst he was imobolised and gusts of wind flew towards and hurt him. The trainer was focussing more on his Kricketune and had forgot to give the starfish Pokémon a command.
