Welcome to the city of Tohea within the region that is also named Tohea, the island that all come to when they're If that's not really your top priority, then perhaps I can point you to the Pokémart that is just beyond that building right in front of you. Otherwise there are plenty of people around that you can ask for a Pokémon battle. You could search for a wild Pokémon here in the city, or you may go on a route to do something. The possibilities are endless, though I can't really make your choice for you. Just know that while this start may suck, I will leave you with a wild Pokémon that you do see yonder. ![]() Level 6 37/37 100%

Cody walked into Tohea, looking grim. With Barboach as his only Pokémon, he wasn't going to get very far right off. Looking around the city, the Pokémon Center and Mart was spotted, as well as several battle-ready trainers. His Barboach wasn't ready for trainer battling just yet. But on spotting the Chansey, he disregarded the fish's ability. Even if Barboach was defeated, Cody himself could always jump in and finish the job. Chansey was too rare a Pokémon to pass up. In a flash of red light, Barboach appeared, flopping softly on the ground. A catfish by nature, it would be fine on the ground for the most part. It should anyway. "Barboach, use an Agility attack. You're going to need all the speed you can get with being on land. Then I want you to use a Mud Slap attack, and try and hit it in the eyes. If you can manage to disable it a bit or distract it with the mud in it's eyes, we can whomp on it with some serious damage. Just be sure to move out of the way if it comes after you. Be ready, because you're not gonna get very far with flopping around. Use your tail to smack the ground and get you out of the way of any attacks." |

While Chansey is actually common in Tohea, you are right about Barboach having a hard time with speed on the ground. It's Agility helped it somewhat, being able to now use its tail faster to help it get around. Using Mud Slap isn't a bad idea actually, and Chansey was staring at your Pokémon, realizing that she was being challenged. Huffing in an attitude (it seems she's going to be a spicy one) she started stomping in your direction. Before she could even think about actually executing an attack, however, she got a faceful of mud and squealed. Trying to get it out of her eyes, she only managed to smear it more. Barboach slapped his tail on the ground, launching himself into the air, over and over again to get close to the Chansey. Once he was near her, Chansey could see much better and reached out with a Pound attack, only to get smacked with Barboach's tail. She hissed between her teeth, but not like a cat, and glared at him. This is going to be one fun battle. ![]() Level 5 35/35 87%(Speed +1) ![]() Level 6 34/37 95%(Accuracy -1) |

Cody smiled as he saw his little fishy man jump into action. This was quite an agile fish it seemed, so fighting on land wouldn't be too bad. Once it was a Whiscash it would be a lot better as well. But for now, it would have to learn to handle itself on land. Now Cody needed to think quickly. Now was time to show what he was really good for. Strategy. If anyone could make a weak Pokémon a killing machine, it was him. The ideas he came up with were usually pretty profound, ways nobody else would even start to expect. But for his little fishy monster... he didn't have a whole lot. But he had a start. "Alright... Barboach... Aha! Alright, we haven't got a whole lot to work with so bear with me. I want you to launch yourself at Chansey while it still has the mud in it's eyes! But when you go to launch from the ground, curl your body up and then spring forward. This will spin you towards Chansey, increasing your velocity and hopefully making your Pound attack you're gonna use on it stronger! Once you use that Pound, launch yourself straight up from off of Chansey's head, and use Pound again straight down! This will create yet another enhanced Pound attack, maximizing the damage you inflict! Ready, spin!"

Chansey kept wiping the mud out of her eyes, and it didn't take too long before she could see pretty well again. But she was still shocked when she saw your fish pretty much rolling at it at high speed. Eyes wide, she cried out and turned and tried to run away, but was smacked in the back with your Pound. She fell flat on her stomach, which actually isn't flat when you think about it, and now she's rocking back and forth on it. Meanwhile, Barboach had launched himself back into the air to come straight back down like a bullet. This doesn't sound like a bad plan at all, except that you and Barboach hadn't thought about what would happen if Chansey rolled away. The egg carrier Pokémon rolled a little ways to the right and Barboach went thwump into the ground. Needless to say, he's seeing some stars right now, and Chansey was getting up and ready to start smacking on you now. One fist came down and landed right on Barboach's head, and another one squashed the middle of his body. She also decided to use two Pound attacks, and I have to say, they did some more damage. You should probably think up of a way to attack without putting your little fish monster into so much danger. ![]() Level 5 23/35 62%(Speed +1) ![]() Level 6 27/37 88%(Accuracy -1) |

Cody had hoped the first pound would disorient the Chansey enough to hit the second one. Now he needed to think of something really good to make up for the damage he just took. He needed to really mess the Chansey up. He wracked his brain trying to think of something. Chansey was a fatty creature, so not a whole lot of weak points. The eyes would be a good spot to hit, but the Chansey would be able to see it coming. The stomach was fatty but... That was it! Perfect! "Barboach! We need a three move combo here so get ready! Use a Mud Slap again, right in the eyes! While it's distracted with that, jump at it's pouch and knock out the egg and slide into the pouch! The interior should be really sensitive, so use a Bite in there! Then hop out before it can roll or fall! Use a Body Slam while it's on the ground! This should deal a huge amount of damage if you can do it!" This was a great strategy, but Cody was unsure of the results. Barboach needed to move quick, but the inside of the pouch should be slippery, so he could slide out of there quick. The Chansey was guaranteed to fall forward if it's eyes are covered. Instinct says to hit the ground and make small if you can't see. So it won't punch it's pouch, especially risking to hurt itself. The question is if Barboach can slip out fast enough before it falls. |

Chansey got up off the ground and puffed up in anger as you commanded your Pokémon. She called out in a threatening way, "Chansey!!" which affected your Barboach even if he didn't realize it. Barboach slapped the Mud right at Chansey, but she's seen this before and quickly turns to the side, he mud hitting her on the side of the head rather than the eyes. Your Pokémon seized this opportunity to flight itself into the air and onto Chansey's Egg. However, there isn't any room for him to squeeze into the pouch so he makes do with biting Chansey right there. Chansey shudders and reacts and shakes her body, throwing Barboach off of her. As he landed, Barboach curled up and springed into a Body Slam attack into Chansey's face. The sudden attack pushed Chansey back and almost onto her back, but she recovered and bit down on the poor eel, which struggled free of her mouth. Your Pokémon has expended a lot of energy for this battle, you'd better hope you finish before you run out of gas! ![]() Level 5 19/35 40%(Speed +1) (Attack -1) ![]() Level 6 17/37 80%(Accuracy -1) Edited by Stephan Reiken, Dec 21 2008, 11:00 PM.

Cody cursed. His plan was simple. All Barboach had to do was knock the egg out of the pouch. Instead, it just jumped at the pouch. What a dumb FISH (not eel, no eel has whiskers :P) But now he needed to hurry and drop this Chansey down to catching health. He was quite close to catching the Pokémon. One or two more hits and it would be quite easy to catch. But Barboach was getting close to tiring out. Though it seemed it could carry out a few more hits. This battle will be just fine for the fish. But now Cody needed to think of a way to ensure this creature went down. "Barboach, quickly curl yourself up! As Chansey prepares to be hit, instead just spin with a Mud Slap! This will catch it off guard and hopefully blind it! Then I want you to hit it with another Body Slam! If the Chansey still doesn't seem to be weak enough, try and finish it off with a Bite attack, right between the eyes! Then when it tries to bat you off, it will hurt itself even more in the process by hitting itself in the eyes!" |

Your plan to get into that pouch certainly was a great one, but pulling it off was going to be hard. Thats why it didnt work the first time round, however your fish wasn't that stupid, and was still thinking of a way to pull it off. The Chansey now began plodding its rather fat body across towards your fish, who lay curled on the floor just as you asked it too. As Chansey got above Barboach your fish spun rapidly, slapping up the mud into both of Chansey's eyes. Yes! As the fat female Pokémon screamed Barboach now had a body slam to finish off, and wanted to do it in the style you first asked it too. Because Chansey was almost directly above your fish, the Body slam your fish pounced to do directly hit the bottom of Chansey's pouch, sending the egg flying out. As a bonus, the egg smashed into Chansey's face, inflicting even more damage! Unfortunately, you have already used 3 moves, so you can only use 2 this turn. However, the pouch is now open, and Chansey cannot see! Lv. 5 19/35 28%(speed +1) (Attack -1) Vs. Lv. 6 7/37 76%(accuracy -2) (cannot see at the moment) (No egg in pouch) |

This was perfect. Barboach, all on his own, managed to get the egg out again. Though it disobeyed orders to do so, it got the best job it could possibly do done. A Pokémon that could think on it's own in battle. That was simply amazing. Barboach was certainly going to become a powerful Pokémon. Now the Chansey was left vulnerable and blind. If Barboach could get in that Pouch, this battle was simply over. Cody looked over his Barboach and saw he was getting pretty tired. But he had enough energy to finish this. "Barboach, that was wonderful! Now let's drop this oaf! Try and hop in the pouch! If you can, use a Tail Whip attack and then use Bite! With the sensitive skin in there, it should be more than enough to KO it. If you can't get into the Pouch, use another Body Slam and then try and hop in the pouch again and Bite it! We just have to make sure this Chansey is put down!" Cody was feeling antsy. This as a bit risky for such a small Pokémon. Chansey's weren't big, but compared to his Barboach, they were sumo wrestlers. If worse came to worse, he could always just simply catch the Chansey if Barboach fainted. It was definitely weak enough to capture at this point. But he needed to train his fishy man so it can start learning some decent moves. If he had another water Pokémon he could teach it Water Gun or something. But until then, he was stuck with a floppy fish. Though for a floppy fish, it could certainly hold it's own. Cody pulled out an empty Pokeball and prepared it. No matter how this round ended, he was going to try and capture the Chansey when it was over. Edited by Cody Towner, Dec 22 2008, 03:03 PM.

Barboach quickly followed your orders and sucessfully jumped inside of Chansey's pouch. With evident skill, your fish Pokémon performed tail whip against the blind Chansey and quickly and promptly performed a bite that ended Chansey's existence in Tohea. Until she was healed that is. As the pink sumo wrestler fell to the ground, your floppy fish Pokémon tiredly squirmed about in Chansey's egg pouch before being able to get out of it and flop back, tired, but triumphant over to you again. You just proved that fish can fight on dry land.. albeit not easily. Anway, you had KO'd the Chansey and it was now time to throw that fateful ball and capture it. Fainted as it was, the Chansey provided no resistance to your pokeball and it was thus instantly caught. Now you had a new member of your team.. yada yada yada. Barboach gained 66 and is elevated to level 6You captured Chansey! Your profile will be edited to reflect the changes. |

Cody cheered softly as the Chansey was caught. He returned Barboach, who had leveled up. Now what to do next? Well the first step would be a quick visit to the Pokémon Center. Then, if that went off without a hitch, he would probably head toward Kadarra lake. There would be a lot of Water type Pokémon down that way, and a good battling area for Barboach. On the way he'd cross Kilidad River, which would also be a good place. From Kadarra Lake, he could head to Corsola Cove and finish his training with Barboach hopefully completely. Along the way, he'd find new Pokémon, get a lot more training with his other Pokémon, and be a lot more powerful of a team. He headed straight toward the Pokémon Center. Then he would have to head to the Pokémon Mart and buy five Pokeballs. That would give him 7 to catch a new team with, and hopefully he could make some extra money or score some better Pokémon off of trades. Once that was done, he would head to Route 2 and begin his traveling here in Tohea. A life of adventure awaits! Let's go! |

Dashing on Route 2 In a pair of beat up shoes With his crazy emo 'do Though he doesn't have the blues (oh geez, another one of them fake emo kids?) He wanted to get there quick He wanted to train his fish But this guy's being a dick So a whooping he will dish Cody said "Stop right there!" And pulled out his Chansey He gave the trainer a glare But it just wasn't scary Chansey can't intimidate Cody sighed in grief This Pokémon he will surely hate But he had some small relief That Oddish was so small And Chansey was so big The leaf would be in a ball It's grave, Chansey will dig Chansey beat it's chest Trying to be tough But Cody shook his head "Chansey that's enough! Just hit it with your tail The Tail Whip will weaken it Then you just can't fail With it's defense in the pit! Then nail it with a Pound Make sure it feels the pain! Then hopefully there is no next round be sure to splatter it's brain!" Cody thought real hard This took a lot of time. He felt really weird Did he just speak in rhyme? |

(Don't worry about rhyming again XD) So you had accepted this trainers offer of a battle? We all have times when we want to crush someone so bad that they end up crawling out of a pit in China, but getting your Pokémon to do it to his Pokémon, wow man, thats quite low. But the battle was going to be fun was it not? So this was a battle between a fat egg thing and a small plant, who knew what the outcome would be? << "Oddish, start off with sweet scent and then latch onto that Chansey with an Absorb!" This sounded like one determined and crazed trainer whom was taking this battle extremely seriously. He definately did not want to loose to an oversized egg, which is fair enough, who would? Oddish began swaying, releasing puffs of pink dust and pollen from it's leaves which began to slowly waft over to Chansey whom inhaled and became quite content. Never the less, Chansey ran up to Oddish and used a tail whip, which actually caused some damage because of the difference in size. Oddish then tried to hook onto Chansey with it's leaves but was merely knocked away when Chansey used a pound on the root like Pokémon. Oddish got up and shook from being hit and looked angrily at Chansey. Oh it's on! ![]() Level 8 29/41 89%(DEF-1) ![]() Level 6 37/37 83%(EVA-1) Edited by Shockwave, Dec 24 2008, 12:42 PM.
