"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla
Tohea is in archive mode, but the legend lives on. |

Novice Trainer

Snow felt her attack drain as if the growl attack were like a leach latched onto her body. She shook herself to clear away the feeling of being drained. Quickly she launched yet another Spite attack at Mareep, hoping to do even more damage to Mareep’s energy level. So far the attack had been helping, letting her get a foot in the door of victory. She was so proud of herself that she wasn’t paying much attention to her foe. The thundershock hit her like a bullet to the heart, shocking her both physically and mentally. Snow cringed in pain and cursed herself for her own stupidity. But she didn’t get to soak in the feeling of letting her trainer down. She noticed how Mareep’s legs had begun to shake when the sheep stood. This was her chance! Snow shot forward with another Psywave attack, putting all of her soul and anger into the attack. It worked! Mareep fell to the ground, passed out from the lack of energy. Snow spun around happily, before she realized she was in pain too and abruptly stopped. Hadley rushed forward with her arms outstretched. “Oh Snow! You did such a good job!” Hadley cheered as she clutched the little Misdreavus to her chest. Snow let out a happily growl from her throat as she stared lovingly up at her trainer. As their first victory together, both of them seemed rather happy. The man then walked up to Hadley and Snow with his hand outstretched. Hadley took his hand in hers and firmly shook it with a smile on her face. That was when she realized the lump in her hand. That was odd, why was he passing money to her like that? All sneaky like, as if they had done a dirty deed? Maybe the man thought she was a whore and was paying her due. Hadley smiled uneasily at him as she quickly snatched Snow’s pokéball. Hadley opened the ball as she turned to walk away, and Snow vanished inside a flash of red light. But before Hadley got too far the sky suddenly turned an eerie shade of well…dark. Hadley felt a chill go down her spine and she clutched her hands to her arms to keep the shivers away. She turned her eyes upward to the sky and saw an amazing sight. Darker silhouettes were battling high in the sky; their actions could be traced through the sky. What was this odd thing? Did her odd win cause such a scene? No, it wouldn’t have done that. She continued to stare towards the sky, unsure and very wary of what was going on. “Hadley, come with me and you will be saved from the apocalypse that is about to befall this island of Tohea.” The voice inside her head made her start. She twisted her head in every direction looking for the source of the voice. She caught a flash of color in the corner of her eye and quickly whipped around. Behind her an Alakazam stood with its hand outstretched to her. Hadley stared at it, her mouth gapping wide at the shock of such a high level Pokémon appearing before her. Or well, behind her. It was too much to take on in battle, and what it spoke of seemed to hit her. An apocalypse? Now? Here? How was this possible? If this Pokémon was offering a way to save her she should take that chance. Even if it meant putting her faith into a strange Pokémon. “I trust you,” Hadley said softly as she reached out and grabbed the Alakazam’s outstretched hand. |
