WELCOME TO HURST!!!! HOPE YOU HAVE FUN!

You stepped of the boat and left the long past that you wanted to get rid of.(Please correct me if I'm wrong!) You were succesfull in you escape and now you live in a place that is completly different to you. You walked around to try and familurize yourself with everything and you ran into some very rude people.

"Gimme your money!" the tall man yelled at you.

What a nice warm welcome isn't it. Such a nice person and yet he took you bag and everything in it hoping the your money was in it. Well that wasn't nice at all. That had all you pokeball and money in it. You better chase him down before he gets away. Or you could call the cops and see what they do about it.

Hadley looked around at the dreary scenery. A city like Hurst wasn’t one she had hoped for as a starting town on her journey, but she took whatever she could get. With a deep breath to calm her racing heart she lifted her bag higher onto her shoulder and took a step forward. The boat ride had been a bit rocky, a thing she wasn’t exactly used too, and had to take a couple of trips to the bathroom. A few times she even tripped her way into the wrong one. So it wasn’t like she was lingering by the dock, wishing she was back home with her lonely house keepers as they tended to her every need.

In her haste to get away from the smell of the ocean sea, and somehow familiarize herself with the city she had stepped foot on, she did not see the people she was walking towards. Now, growing up in such a wealthy environment didn’t exactly prepare her for what happened next. But growing up with two older brothers sure did help. As she walked by she felt her gait hasten just a tad as she carefully clutched her bag closer to her side.

“Gimme your money!” a tall man yelled at her as she passed him.

Hadley had watched shows where these kinds of things happened. He grabbed her bag before she could react, and then began running. ‘God damn it!’ Hadley thought as she turned sharply on the balls of her feet. Her money AND her one and only Pokémon was in that bag, not to mention all her other belongings. “Get back here you asshole!” she shouted as she gave chase. Her long legs extended, kicking up higher as she gained speed. “Stop him!” she shouted into the air, hoping that someone would hear her. Or maybe if she got close enough, she could take him down herself.

The chase was on! it only took you a few moments to realize that you'd been mugged, and mugging wasn't something that you looked kindly upon, so you were after that thief like a Mightyena after the mechanical Buneary at the racetrack. It was a hard pursuit, as you assailant was as tall as you were, if not taller, and clearly in top physical condition.

After a block or two of nearly solid running your foot caught quite suddenly on something very unexpected. You fell to the ground, but were up and running again in an instant. You did have time to notice that the something you had tripped on was a body. Not dead, you didn't think, as it was moving fairly rapidly, almost as if it had been violently thrown into your path. Something else you managed to notice in the brief time that your attention was drawn away from the mugger was that the body seemed to glisten in the sunlight from somewhere. You weren't completely positive, but it looked like he or she was holding something metallic.

But enough about the body; you weren't exactly a wealth of knowledge on the streets of Hurst, but you knew that the side street that your prey (or predator, depending on which way you look at it) couldn't possibly lead anywhere, as you'd just ran from the opposite side of the block. You careened around the corner and discovered that you were not wrong in that assertion - the alley ended in a wire fence, which your attacker knew he had no chance of climbing before you caught him. You had they guy trapped, now deal with him in whatever way you deem appropriate.

[[ I couldn't work out how to put your Fall Promo event in here, but I'd like to ref you up until you meet with Kaail at least, if you don't mind, so I'll put it in next post, okay? ~~~ Lexi ]]

[That would totally be okay =D Thank you so much!]

Hadley felt alive for the first time in months. The wind brushed through her hair and blood pumped through her veins as she ran. It was like training for gymnastics all over again. Going for 5-6 mile runs everyday, racing against her friends as they dodged around twigs, branches, and rocks. She missed it so much she was tempted to do a front hand spring. But playing around while the man, who stole her bag and only Pokémon, continued running wasn’t such a smart move.

‘I got him! I got him!’ she thought happily as she continued to run full speed after the thief. Well, she didn’t exactly see her only obstacle. I mean seriously, what kind of man just lays in the middle of the road?! “Fuck!” she yelled as she quickly picked herself up. The guy who she had tripped over was of little concern to her; her only focus was getting the man who had stolen her stuff. As she continued her chase after him she noticed three things. One, that the man she had just run over (quite literally) was holding something metallic, kind of like a knife. Two, that the man she was chasing was heading towards a dead end, which caused her heart to race even faster seeing as she now had a chance to catch him. Three, that she had scraped her hands and her cheek from the fall. She would have to run over to the Pokémon center after she got her things back so that her scrapes wouldn’t get infected.

Hadley turned sharply around the same corner the man had and what she saw left her with a smile on her face. A wire fence. A tall, BEAUTIFUL, wire fence. The man was cornered, and that made her happy. She continued to chase him until they both reached the end of the alley. ‘No time for talking Hadley. This isn’t one of those TV shows. You never talk to your attacker or else they might get away,’ she thought as she came to a halt in front of him. He halted too, but only because he couldn’t quite make it over the fence without Hadley pulling him down.

Gymnastics had left Hadley with some nasty reflexes and killer flexibility. So she didn’t even hesitate once she stopped. Her left leg shot upward aiming to kick him in the face. Or, if her legs couldn’t reach that high, kick him in the neck and hopefully pin him against the fence. She knew that with her high heeled boots she would cause some damage, along with the force of the kick. She turned her right leg slightly outwards, so that her knee wasn’t facing him. If the man decided to try to kick at her leg she would rather her knee buckle from being hit in the back, rather than break from being kicked in the knee. As her leg extended upward she bent over and threw out her hands. She was hoping that with her left hand she could grab one of his hands and pin it to his side, while with her right hand grab her bag.

Your gymnastics training had served you well, and your aim was true. Your left foot caught the mugger squarely in the side of the head, and before he could react he was already stumbling sideways. Though, in all fairness, you were a little out of practice; you couldn't quite manage to grab hold of anything of great significance after the kick made contact, but at least you managed to retain your balance.

Not that it really mattered. The guy who had stolen your stuff was clearly not expecting this kind of fight. I mean, honestly... when you swipe a bag from a teenage girl, you don't usually meet a whole lot of resistance. Sure, maybe the girl will be a Pokémon trainer and will whoop your ass with her highly trained team, but hand-to-hand combat? Come off it! Anyhow; with a stinging foot in his face, and a complete lack of readiness, the guy practically fell over his own feet. He hit the deck pretty hard, but you could see he was managing to get up again.

It was at this point that you noticed a couple of things (wow, you're really on your game today, huh?). First of all, there was a trickle of blood running down the guys cheek. Ok, so that's not really something you can use, but anyway. Secondly, the guy had actually forgotten to pick your bag up again after he fell; the backpack was still sitting a foot or two to his right (your left), so now might be a good time to try to get between it and him. Finally, you noticed another glint out of the corner of your eye [[ OOC: You never realize how useful glints and reflections can be until you become a ref. ]]. You do a quick check and find that it's nothing more than the inside of a Mars Bar wrapper, but a double take (not probably the wisest thing to do during a fist-fight, but anyways) shows that somebody had dropped a bit of cash. Looked to be around $200, but you never could be sure. It didn't look like the thief had seen it, so maybe after the fight you could grab it.

Oh, yeah! The action was happening! Well... uh... sorta. The mugger now had turned around and was half way up the fence now. He didn't have your bag, but he'd obviously decided you were more trouble than you were worth. So what do you want to do? Will you settle for the bag and the cash, or do you want revenge? I reckon you could probably manage to get all 3 if you tried hard enough!

Hadley scolded herself silently when she couldn’t grab anything from the man, but she did manage to smile when her high kick made contact with his face! Quickly she set her foot down again and prepared for at least some retaliation. But the man simply fell to the floor…What kind of mugger was this?! He didn’t even try to protect what he had stolen; then again, maybe he just did it for sport and not as a way to survive. Hadley simply shrugged but still prepared herself in case the man got back up.

But as she stood there waiting for him to get up and hit her back, she noticed a few things. She had managed to make the guy bleed, which made her slightly happy to know that the kick wasn’t completely wasted! Next was that he dropped her bag and totally forgot to pick it up again! ‘This is probably the lamest mugger I have ever met…’ she thought silently as she shook her head. The third thing she noticed was that someone, a careless traveler maybe, had dropped 200$!! This really was her semi-lucky day! Well, except that she had been mugged in the first place and the man was currently trying to scale the fence to get away from her.

This man was too much of a coward for her to deal with, and a worthless thief at that. Anyways, even if she decided to pick up the goodies first before she went after him, she could easily vault over the fence before he even touched down. Or so she hoped, she was a little off practice. Anyways! She rolled her eyes at the bleeding man as he climbed further up it. She decided not to go after him after all, too much trouble. And she didn’t want to get too cocky. She walked over to her bag and the fallen cash and quickly picked it up.

“Oh thank Suicune!” she said softly when she realized all her items, clothes, and other necessities were safely tucked where she had so carefully placed them. Hadley stuck the 200$ in with the rest of her money happily. It’s not everyday you find 200$ right after you were mugged! “Snow! I think its time you came out” Hadley said as she pulled her Snow’s Pokéball from inside her back pack. Poor Snow hadn’t seen her new temporary home yet; thanks to that mugger…Hadley pointed the opening of the ball away from her and pushed the little white button in the center.

A flash of red light emitted from the ball, lighting up the alley for a brief second. Snow appeared out of the light blinking and shaking her head, as if she had just woken up from a nap. “Sorry about that Snow, I got mugged so I couldn’t exactly take you out…” Hadley said quickly. The more she thought about it the more embarrassing the event became. A flush of heat enveloped her face as she quickly hoisted her bag higher upon her shoulder. “Anyways, it was stupid and I won’t let it happen again!” Hadley marched forward, her eyes focused straight ahead towards the entrance to the dead ended alley.

Snow followed her happily, drifting along silently behind her trainer as the continued walking. “Hey, maybe we can find another trainer to battle. Or maybe a wild Pokémon to catch,” Hadley said, glancing over her shoulder at Snow. “Misdre vuuuuuus!” Snow said happily, eager to get some excitement in. Her trainer already got her share, now it was her turn! “Alright then! Let’s continue to look around before we head towards the Pokémon center…” Hadley said as she turned a corner even though she had no idea where she was going. Then again, that was the fun of traveling.

So you're just going to let the thief get away with anything he might have on him?! Are you freekin' nuts! You were basically told that you could easily get back at him and then you let him go! Who knows what you would have found in his pockets? Maybe you don't, but I do, and trust me, you would have wound up with a little bit of nice presents there for X-Mas. But it's too late, you passed it up and he's already long gone, probably to go mug some other helpless girl. Oh well, another criminal gone unpunished, except maybe a little beating dished out to him. That probably won't stop him from trying to rob somebody else though.

Anyhow, Snow was pretty happy to be out of her Pokeball and out into the fresh, cold air. Upon your desire to battle, she agreed whole heartedly, wanting to get a little piece of action. Overhearing you, a teenage boy sent out his Mareep, who would be able to take any cold since it had nice wool.

"Okay, let's have a battle then. I think one Pokémon will suffice, and if you win I'll pay you $50 for a tough one. My Mareep sure could use some hard training."

Well $50 would be nice, wouldn't it? And Mareep may need some tough training, but this is going to be one tough battle for you! You could walk away, although with it being just a Mareep, there's a pretty good chance you could come out on top. It's entirely up to you of course.

Hadley just about jumped out of her skin when the teenage boy came out of nowhere and challenged her to a battle. She was about to start yelling at the kid for not clearly announcing his presence before hand, but she thought better of it. This kid was about to give her a battle she could actually look forward too. Snow floated gracefully in front of her trainer, eager to show off her ghostly skills.

“Alright, since Snow seems ready to battle, so am I,” Hadley said with a forced smile. “And 50$ would be nice.” Snow nodded in agreement, a mischievous smirk lighting up her face as she looked over at her opponent. “Since you scared me shitless, I’ll go first,” Hadley said not even giving the teenager a chance to say anything. “Snow, I want you to use growl against Mareep to lower its attack. Then I want you to use agility on yourself to heighten your speed. Next I want you to use psywave against Mareep.”

Snow nodded again, her mischievous smirk growing into a malicious grin. Now since Mareep was still at a fairly low level, and not yet up to level 10, it’s only natural known attacks were normal type. Snow was a ghost Pokémon which made her immune to normal type attacks. Hopefully, if the odds were in Hadley and Snow’s favor this trainer and his Mareep wouldn’t have too many deadly tricks up their sleeve. They’d just have to ride out this battle no matter what happened.

((OOC: Just a note so you know, because ghosts would be uber hard to beat with their immunity to Normal type attacks, that immunity isn't present in this game exactly. Ghosts can become solid which makes them vulnerable to all attacks no matter what they are. They also need to be solid to perform Normal type attacks.))

The other trainer immediately jumped into action as well, starting to give out commands to try to counter yours. He told Mareep to use Agility as well and wait for an opening to use Thundershock. Wait, did he seriously just tell his Pokémon to use a move that he doesn't know yet? No, he didn't, because he had already taught his Mareep Thundershock, which you obviously weren't expecting. As a matter of fact, let me tell you that the reason why he's asking you to battle is because he had just finished training his Mareep to use Thundershock.

Anyways, Snow's Growl and Agility worked to perfection, but just as she was about to fire off a Psywave, she got the lovely electric shock sent at her. She gave a harsh sound in Mareep's general direction and fired one off at her anyhow, making it hit home. Mareep's trainer snarled at the situation, seeing that this could be one tough battle. The surprise attack he had probably would have been more handy later on when you were least expecting it. Now that you know he already knows Thundershock, you'll probably be expecting something else too.

((Thank's for clearing that up DS =D))

Well, Hadley certainly wasn’t expecting that! But maybe it was better that he used Thundershock first. Now there weren’t too many surprises left for Snow to work around. Hadley cringed when she heard the word ‘Thunderbolt’ uttered from the younger boys mouth. She hadn’t thought the Pokémon would know this move so early! But she took this surprise and tried to make it work for her.

Snow smiled joyfully when both Growl and Agility worked to her advantage. The little ghost Pokémon became somewhat over confident after that, not paying close enough attention to the other Pokémon. She darted forward a couple of feet, getting close enough to the Mareep where her attack would do some pretty well aimed damage. But what she wasn’t expecting, or even looking out for, was the Thundershock attack! Snow was hit pretty hard with the shock of electricity, pain searing up and down her sides. She made an angry sound in Mareep’s direction, unaccustomed to the pain she was going through at the moment.

The pain only made her angrier and she let that anger circulate throughout her body. She gathered the Psywave energy, the dark ringlets pulsing with life. With another angry grunt she hurled the energy at Mareep with as much force as she could muster. The attack hit Mareep nicely, causing the more experienced Pokémon to loose some of its health. Snow cheered happily, forgetting for the most part that she herself was hurt. Gracefully she floated back over to Hadley to await some more commands.

Hadley nodded softly to Snow and let a light smile play across her lips. “Good job Snow. Be more careful next time though. At least we know now what tricks this trainer has up his sleeve,” Hadley said quickly as she glanced over at her opponent. Snow nodded as she shot another glare over her shoulder. “Snow,” Hadley said, letting her voice grow quiet. “I want you to use Growl again. Follow that up with Spite, but do it quickly so that Thunderbolt get’s affected. After you use Spite I want you to go in with another Psywave attack.” Snow nodded once again. The small Pokémon darted back towards her opponent getting ready to go again with another trio of attacks.

The boy smiled when you mentioned him having tricks up his sleeve and shook his head softly. He really couldn't believe that you would think that he would go into a battle without fully being prepared for just about anything. Of course he'd be suspecting that eventually he'd come up against a Ghost Pokémon, and so he would need an attack that would hit, no matter if the Pokémon was solid or not. It took some time, but he was able to teach his Mareep Thundershock early enough. Actually, he taught it to him when he was only at Level 4, so you can imagine how advanced Thundershock is now. I suggest you try to make sure it doesn't hit again.

Snow used Growl, and Mareep's Attack went down again, although that's not going to help with Thundershock you know. It's a special attack after all, although if you have Snow use a physical attack and Mareep uses one too, then it'll be of use to you. Anyhow, after that, Spite was used, and Mareep felt a huge drain of energy, 30% as a matter of fact, so if you kept that up... well I'm sure you see where I'm going with this. But it seems that this boy isn't going to make the mistake of using an attack like Thundershock again.

"Mareep, use a Growl of your own followed by an Agility. I want you to do your best to dodge that Psywave coming up!" This trainer was getting pumped now, and Mareep was too. After the Growl he used Agility and did manage to leap out of the way of Psywave. Maybe you should try to get physical, but you should remember what I said about that too. Oh, and when a Ghost Pokémon turns solid and/or pass through, it uses energy. I want to give you all of the facts before you make your decisions.

Snow let out an annoyed sigh when her Psywave attack didn’t hit. She floated back and forth gently, waiting impatiently for her trainer to figure out another set of moves. That would have more effect against this Mareep. Hadley let out a sigh as well. Battling was a LOT harder than she had expected. It was just her luck that she came against a higher level Pokémon in her first battle ever.

‘I’m going to have to teach Snow some more advanced moves if I want these battles to become easier…’ Hadley thought to herself as she stared at her opponent. He obviously knew what he was doing, and he probably battled a lot more people than her. Her brow wrinkled in worry and then her lips broke into a smile as she sized him up. Maybe she had been lucky to get into a tough battle straight off. Now she wouldn’t be as cocky going against other trainers, and she would probably learn a bit from this battle.

She thought about using a physical attack, but decided against it. She knew Snow would have to become solid in order for the attack to work. That would leave Snow vulnerable and cause the ghost Pokémon to loose more energy than was needed. She wanted to see how Psywave hit first and then go in for a physical attack. If Psywave didn’t cause much damage, then she had no other choice. “Alright Snow, we’re going to want to lower this Pokémon’s energy as much as we can,” Hadley said, “I want you to use Spite first, then use Agility next. After that I want you to use Psywave again.” Hopefully if she lowered the Mareep’s energy enough they might have a chance of winning.

Hmmm what an interesting battle this this turning out to be. A yellow sheep that can shock you, and is about 3 levels highers is having its energy drained. Not surprising, considering your ghost Pokémon is spiting its energy away from it. You were being smart about your attacks, the other trainer seemed to be going all out attacks. Well enough blabbering and more on the battle.

The other trainer looked at his mareep and gave his orders.

"Mareep use growl first off, followed by an agility. Finished the moves with one thundershock. Make sure you dodge the psywaves coming at you." The trainer said looking all relaxed and cool like.

Both Pokémon got ready and went to work battling each other using the moves that you both ordered up. Gee sounds like ordering food at a fancy resturant doesn't it?

The yellow sheep growled as the female looking ghost used spite. Mareep seemed to use more energy growling then it would seem to take just to growl. Snow seemed to get weaker from the growl, but that shouldn't bother her to much. Not that it really matters to a ghost Pokémon, psywave shouldn't be bothered to much from a growl like that.

Both Pokémon started moving around at increasing speeds, and gained a boost to their speed. All thanks to the agility move that they used. Handy thing isn't it?

Mareep began gathering energy and sparks began flying around its wool. It unleased a spark of thunder out at Snow. Snow was lucky to just dodge it enough not to get hurt to badly from the attack. Snow unleased about 5 waves of mental energy at Mareep. Now mareep being smart dodged all but the last 2 waves. It didn't seem to bother the smalll yellow sheep to much, but it was looking tired from the long hard battle. Both Pokémon went back to standing in front of their respective trainers to await further orders.

The trainer you were battling didn't seem happy that his Pokémon was beginning to tire. But he didn't seem to be ready to give in just yet.

So what are you gonna do next? Win? Hopefully, it'd really stink if you lost right now. So good luck trainer and have fun.

Well this had been an odd battle. Mareep was low on energy, but still had a fair amount of HP left while Snow was low on HP but still had some energy. At this point the outcome of the battle was still unclear. But both Pokémon were in weaker states than either trainer was comfortable with. Hadley let the breath she was holding in out and relaxed her tense shoulders. If she was going to win she would have to keep lowering Mareep’s energy and try to avoid any hits from Mareep.

“Alright Snow, we need to lower Mareep’s energy as much as possible, and avoid any hits that Mareep can dish out,” Hadley said gently to her Pokémon. Snow nodded and then shook her body to clear away the spiking pains she was experiencing. “Use Spite first and then go in for a Psywave attack. After that I want you to use another agility attack and please try to dodge any thunder attack Mareep throws at you.”

Hadley hated not knowing how the outcome of the battle was going to be. The un known had always scared her. Ever since she was little. Without really thinking she reached behind her back and pulled her hair to the front. She then began to twirl it around her finger as she thought. How was she going to win this battle, and not embarrass her or her Pokémon? I mean, c’mon, she had watched her brothers battle before! It shouldn’t be this hard to figure out.

Well, today certainly has been interesting. The server crashed, taking Tohea down with it. Such insanity ensued. Well, since you already know the end result, how about getting there the proper way?

The other trainer ordered his Mareep to use Growl and Thundershock. However, I get the feeling that it won't last that long. Mareep started off using Growl to lower your attack. Snow shrugged off the attack and used Spite again. It did some major energy draining, but not quite enough. The Thundershock came quickly thereafter. Getting in a good zap, the Mareep now stood on shakey legs. Snow then launched the Psywave attack, firmly planting Mareep in the loser's box. He used up all his energy and fell, defeated. It probably wasn't the most beautiful victory, but it worked.

The man then walked up to you and shook your hand. You could feel a lump there that he passed on to you. As you look, there was about 120 bucks in there. That was a nice surprise. You returned your Shuppet and started to walk away. However, before you could, the sky turned black as night and even blacker shapes could be seen battling high in the sky. As you stared in awe, a presence appeared in your mind and spoke to you. It said, "Hadley, come with me and you will be saved from the apocalypse that is about to befall the island of Tohea." As you looked for a voice, an Alakazam appeared behind you with his hand out. He was offering much more than you could ever hope to get again. If you don't take his offer, well, it was nice knowing you. Make your decision quickly.

EDIT: I'll add your 104 :exp and $120 now.
