The Spearow definetly was not quite expecting the full speed Tackle, since it was sent into the bushes. Rai was rather happy with that, because it meant that Chikorita was awake and ready to go at full power. The little bird then tried a Peck again, but Chikorita dodged it rather easily, bringing down a Body Slam. A Growl by the bird ended the round, but it won't be the last. So, that was a good round, but the type disadvantage still remained. If Chikorita can just dodge those pecks, they could have a new teammate. Rai said, "All right, good job. Now, Headbutt, then Tackle. Just keep dodging those Peck attacks." With Chikorita's increased speed, that really shouldn't be a problem, unless he gets taken off guard. Lets hope that doesn't happen. |

After missing it's mark, the bird Pokémon flapped it's wings to gain a bit of atitude, then circled around and came in fore another shot. It looked like it was carrying too much speed for another Peck attack, so odds are this one would be a tackle... Whatever - you were confident that Chikorita would be able to dodge it. Of course, that confidence may be misplaced. The Pokémon in question was climbing to its feet. Sure, he'd landed the last hit, but sometimes you just can't manage to make your feet hit the ground first, that's all... nothing to worry about really. Anyway, Chikorita found his footing, and made a hell of an effort to avoid the incoming dive-bomber, but wasn't quite fast enough; Spearow managed a glancing blow to your Pokémon's shoulder which knocked him off balance slightly, but nothing he couldn't recover from. Fortunately for you, Spearow hadn't really expected his target to move quite as quickly as it did and as it wasn't prepared to hit Chikorita in the fashion that it did, the birds balance was completely thrown off too. Of course, losing your balance in the air is much more dangerous than losing it on the ground. The Spearow plummeted the last foot or so to the ground where it lay in the dust. Seizing the opportunity, Chikorita sped towards the fallen Pokémon and slammed into it with a massive Headbutt. The attack lifted the Spearow into the air slightly, where it attempted to start flying again, but all it managed to do was make things worse! In the extra second that it remained off the ground, Chikorita had time to charge in with a Tackle attack strong enough to teach Spearow a new meaning to the word 'fly'. The savage little bird was town into a nearby tree and a reasonably high speed, from where he abruptly flopped onto the ground. This battle was going far better than expected. ------------------------- Level 7 ![]() 14/39 78%(Attack -1) ------------VS---------- Level 5 ![]() 21/35 72%(Speed +2) (Attack -1) |

Rai watched the little Kamikaze try to dive bomb Chikorita. It got a glancing blow, but caused itself to go out of control, setting up the attack combo. After it hit the ground, the Spearow got Headbutted into the air and then Tackled into the tree. The bird looked rather stunned that it's attack failed so epically. That left it fairly open to the next attack, as long as Chikorita was quick enough to get it off. Rai thought quickly about what his next move might be. The only reasonable option would be to keep up the offensive. He then said, "Alright. Keep it up and we're going to have a new partner soon. Now, hit that Spearow with a Tackle, and then finish up with a Body Slam." After this next round, the Spearow should be weak enough to catch. They can only hope. |

The red Spearow shook his head, trying to clear it. The little guy wasn’t giving up. He knew -knew- he could defeat a grass Pokémon. He was a powerful bird after all! The sparrows eyes narrowed. He hopped from the tree, flapping his wings with vigor. But, your Chickorita was faster then the bird. As Spearow swooped in, your green Pokémon rushed forward and leapt into the air. He smashed into the opposing bird, sending both of them tumbling to the ground. While in a tangled mess, the Spearow shouted it’s name, and used Peck to free himself. The attack was very effective, and painful to watch. Your green Chickorita slid off the bird with a small trickle of blood oozing from the wound. But the grass Pokémon wasn’t giving up either. Sure, he’d taken a big hit. But he was going to give it back now. Once again, he jumped into the air. This time landing on the bird before it could take off. Chickorita hit him, making a small crunching sound as he landed. The bird was weak, and pinned beneath your Pokémon. This was an incredible upset in the Pokémon world. A grass-type had soundly beaten a flying-type. Now all you had to do was catch it! ------------------------- Level 7 ![]() 4/39 73%(Attack -1) ------------VS---------- Level 5 ![]() 13/35 62%(Speed +2) (Attack -1) |

Rai watched as the little bird tried to get his bearings back, and maybe trying to psych itself up. It should have the advantage, but Chikorita's just better. The Tackle attack landed, but also caused the two to become entangled. Unfortunately, the Spearow used Peck to get free. It looked like a painful hit, but Chikorita pulled through enough to land a Body Slam, bringing the Spearow down to a catchable level. Rai took this opportunity to fish out one of his empty pokeballs. When he looked up, the Spearow was pinned from the Body Slam. He then said, "Look out Chikorita. We're about to get a new teammate." He threw the pokeball at the Spearow with a smile on his face. It should be weak enough to be caught without much of a problem. Then, the next stop should be going back to the Center. At that point, he will have 3 injured Pokémon in need of help, or at least two. |

The pokeball flew through the air, Chikorita jumped aside and the orange sized ball clinked against the Spearows head. The Spearow had given up fighting, it had been bested by a grass type, it was ashamed. However, it was partly happy that it was soon to be joining the team of the Chikorita that had humiliated it so. What would the other Spearow in his flock think if he returned to them in this state and told them that it was a grass type that had beaten him. The pokeball was still and you triumphantly picked up your new Pokémon. Lv.7 You could have sworn that you heard trumpets of victory in the background, or maybe it was just the wind that blew through the trees ruffling the branches. However, there was something else, a weird sort of sensation, it was tingling your bones almost like someone was staring into your soul. It wasn't long before you found out what it was, as a figure in a dark cloak jumped from the trees landing soundlessly infront of you, a Gastly and a Duskull floating around them. The firgure turned to you, and you saw that it was a woman, her midnight blue hair, obviously dyed with streaks of purple flowwed down to her hips, and her deep brown eyes appeared like black gems beneath the predomintae fringe. She was staring at you, as were her Gastly and Duskull, and she was balnk of expression. She spoke in a soft voice, which seemed to echo "I was wondering when one would get here, a trainer such as yourself." She moved forward, "A challenger worthy of a battle, someone other than the common simpletons that I face everyday. However, you are in no fit state to fight me, at least not yet. Allow me to accompany you to town, I can help you take care of any more battlers and then when you have had the chance to heal up, I will face you. My name is Abigail." Well, this certainly interesting, maybe this woman could be helpful to you, and she was obviously looking for a fight but had been courteous enough to let you heal before hand. Rai had expected some kind of last ditch effort on the Spearow's part, but it never came. Maybe it was just too tired, or ashamed by being beaten by a grass type. Either way, it mattered little since the bird was captured moments later. Rai walked over to the now still pokeball and picked it up. In a rather hushed tone, he said, "Welcome to the team Spearow. We're glad to have you." Rai looked down to see a rather happy Chikorita, even with all the bumps and bruises. He was just about to recall Chikorita when someone else decided to show up out of the blue. Although unlike the last unexpected visitor, this one has a definite chill about her. Something dark and powerful, and not just from the two ghosts that now floated at her side. When she finally turned around, Rai could finally see her cold, emotionless face. Now, that's not to say she isn't beautiful, just distant. Her long, dark blue hair couldn't be quite natural, but it still somehow became her perfectly. The only thing that seemed far out of place was the fact that she and her two ghosts just stared at him continuously. It is really unnerving to be on the receiving end of that brutal stare-down. Rai just tried to keep his cool, but was on the verge of failing with every passing second. Finally, the girl broke the transe and spoke, even though her voice seemed to create an echo and keep the chill. She was apparently waiting for a challenge, but Rai already knew that all of his Pokémon were tired. Chikorita was living proof of that. However, the girl offered an alternative where she fends off would-be battle-seekers and allow him to heal his team. Granted, they would still battle afterwards, but his team is going to need to be at full strength for this battle. After a few moments of pondering, Rai said, "Alright Abigail, I'll take you up on your offer. We can have a fair battle after my Pokémon get treated. Oh, sorry, my name is Rai. Nice to meet you." He had a sneaking suspicion that the journey back to town would be a quiet one, especially if Abigail is as distant as she seems to be. Wonder what her story is? |

As Abigail led you back to town wild Pokémon shyed away from her. It was like a bug repellant for Pokémon, though they still came near they didn't do you much harm. The Duskull floated around you the Gastly around your companion. You entered the area just before Tohea. Odd, you must have lost direction but you were being escorted into the city by the lovely though somewhat un-nerving beauty. The Pokémon center should have been very close by now, but to your surprise Abigail lead you down a side alley and into a dimly litt square. A house stood by itself in the musky square but it had a Pokémon center sign so you decided it was a secret place that only a few knew of. Abigail opened the door for you, you went inside. She closed the door with a click. All of a sudden the room was alive with ghosts, Dusclops, Duskull, Misdreavus. All swarmed around you, but they did not attack you, they watched you. Abigail gave a coughed and collapsed to the ground. You caught her just as a blue light surged from her body to the top of the stairs, a woman stood there, she was old a smiling at you. "Welcome Rai, forgive me for the lies. This girl was very helpful in getting you here" she said, motioning to Abigail. "My name is Lady Specter, I am owner of this establishment, the Ghost Sanctuary, please have a seat" she held up a hand, it glowed blue, a chair in the corner of the room took on the same effect, lifted into the air and floated towards you. Lady Specter was a psychic, and if you didn't know better she had been in possetion of Abigail's body. Now what were you to do? you were trapped in an old, dark, ghost filled house in a back alley of tohea with a powerful psychic facing you. Things had turned from bad to worse. And there was the matter of the unconcious Abigail and her Pokémon, no, not hers, the houses. Abigail wasn't the trainer of them? This woman had alot of explaining to do. |

Abigail led the way back to Tohea and like Rai thought, it was a quiet trip. Her ghosts floated around him, or Duskull did. It felt like he was being held prisoner and Duskull was the warden. To take his mind off of it, Rai watched the surroundings to see if any wild Pokémon were around. There were, but they kept their distance from the two ghosts and humans. Pretty soon, they were coming into town, but Abigail turned a different way than she should have. Rai had just come this way yesterday, so he does know the correct direction. However, this may be a short cut that she knows, so he continued to follow in silence. The alley turned into an old square with one building having a Pokémon center sign. Maybe there was one here after all? She opened the door and allowed Rai to enter. She shut the door and in a matter of moments, ghost Pokémon were everywhere! Having them appear out of nowhere, gave Rai a good shock. He nearly fell backwards into the door, but then he noticed that they weren't attacking, just invading personal space. He can live with that. Moments later, Abigail coughed and fell. Luckily she was close enough that he could catch her before hurting herself from the fall. Then, a woman appeared at the stairs and spoke. Apparently she is Lady Specter and this worn-down Pokémon center is a Ghost Sanctuary. Creepy, yes, but not too bad. She then offered him a seat, but instead of him getting one for himself, her hand and the chair glowed blue as it levitated over to him. Ok, so she's psychic. Can it get any worse? Maybe it's best not to ask that question. Rai reluctantly took a seat in the now stationary chair. Several questions were floating around in his head, but if he asks them wrong, it could wind up being hazardous to his health. Who knows what a phychic could do if angered? Rai didn't want to find out, that's for sure. So, to stay safe, he asked Lady Specter, "How do you know about me and what do you want from me?" Two simple questions and hopefully ones that won't end up getting him killed. That would just suck. |

The woman descended the stairs a little "I know you because I heard what Abigail heard. Do not worry, she will be fine, she volunteered fro this, I can't leave the Sanctuary, my prescense keeps the ghosts calm, if I leave they will be free to roam the city." She was smiling again, "I need a soul, not an actual spiritual soul, a person. Abigail is no trainer, she is a herbalist who helps me overcome my arthritis with natural teas. However I need a trainer to do my a small task, and of course if you decide to you will be rewarded." The woman held her hand out and again it glowed blue, a peice of paper with teh saw aura flew from upstiars into her hand. "Technically there are two things I want you to do, first I want you to travel to a small abandoned building to the west off here. Inside you will fid a pack of three Poochyena. They have been causig trouble for my sanctuary so I would like you to take them out for me. Once done you can store them in some dog carriers and take them to the pound or whatever its called these days, you will find said characters in the cupboard under the stairs." Hmm, seems interesting enough. Three Poochyena's, maybe you could get yourself one as a little token. But there was another task the woman had and you listened as she spoke again. "Second there is a man in town by the name of Suis, he is my brother. I want you to go an speak with his son, my nephew Alyxander, and tell him that I want to see him. This may sound like a boring thing to you but I cannot send Abigail because she is not welcome in my nephew's club. You will find him at the Golden Halls, please do not be alarmed when I tell you that it is a mens club for men and women are not exactly welcomed there." This is an easy task with a reward at the end, you have chances here, lots of them. Abigail was still out cold and the woman was writing something down on a crossword puzzle. "By the way, if you decide to go and take the poochyena down you will need a strong Pokémon, there fore I offer you my Skitty, you will find it attached to your belt." she said. Surprised, you looked down to see a pink and purple pokeball attached to you're waist. What shall you do? The ghosts watch your every move. You are either in a really good or really bad position. And the top it all off, the woman cackled and said "Thats the word I'm looking for, deception". |

Rai was tense, that's for sure. All of the ghosts staring at him, plus the creepy old woman? Yeah, he has a reason. Lady Specter then explained how she knew him. It didn't make much sense to him, but practically nothing did at the moment. Then, she mentioned that she needed someone to do a task for her. That shouldn't be too hard. A small pack of Poochyena are causing grief? The biggest problem there should be the fact that Rai didn't have any type advantages over dark types. Maybe he can take one for himself as long as Lady Specter doesn't care about them. Rai figured that this wouldn't take too long. However, she also mentioned that she wanted him to see this nephew of her's, Alyxander. Again that shouldn't be hard. But, then she mentioned where he could find the nephew. A men's club? Would that be another name for a gentlemen's club? If so, that could turn out, interesting. She did say not to worry, though, so maybe he doesn't have to go inside. Wishful thinking. Lady Specter then took up a crossword puzzle and mentioned that she would loan out her Skitty and that it was already on his belt. What? Rai looked down and saw a pink and purple pokeball that wasn't there earlier. He was about to answer her, when she said the word "deception" with emphasis. It may be best to go along with her for the time being. Rai thought it over for a few moments more before saying, "Alright. I'll do this for you, but directions might be nice. After that, I'll take care of the Poochyena." The ghost Pokémon were still staring at him. You would think they would have some manners. Although, if Lady Specter doesn't have company much, it must be strange for them. |

Lady Specter filled in her crossword and sipped some tea, which seemed to appear out of nowhere. "Its very simple really, to reach the Poochyena you simply leave this house and go left down the side alley, turn right at the very end and your there. The Golden Halls is a bit more difficult. First you go out the way you came in and turn down the main street. Once you are near the Pokémon center take a right down a side street to a little house with a flower garden. Turn left at this, and make your way to the end of the street and climb the stairs up the slight rise, from here go towards a sign that has a gold pokeball on it. This is the Golden Halls, my brother owns the shop in front of it, the club is in the back and down some stairs." Well, those sure were helpful, and with a nod of your head you left her care taking the dog carriers offered. Outside, as you were shutting the door she spoke again "Alan. No, thats not it. Rex. No no. Alex, thats him." It was not directed at you, this woman was probably suffering from a mild form of dementur. Nether the less, you took heed of here directions and headed left down the side alley and right at the end. When you turned the corner you were greeted by an unusual site. A small shack, old and falling apart at the end of the alley, with dusty windows and a missing door you later saw to be part of the roof. From inside the building, low growls and red glowing eyes. What's that to your left? Right? Pitter patter off paws and then... BAM! ========================================================= x3 (Lv. 4, 4, 6) ( x2, X1)========================================================= Poochyena, just as you had been told. You were invading their territory, and you carried dog carriers. No doubt strays fear dog carriers and were defending themselves. You thought why Poochyena would be here anyway, but what happened moments ago with Lady Specter made you think that now was not the best time for questions. Let the battle begin. |

Rai sat and listened for her directions. It would be simple enough to find the Poochyena, but the club would be a little harder. He then took the dog carriers, which, he was sure wasn't there a moment ago, and moved outside. Come to think of it, when did she get tea? Regardless, Lady Specter continued on with her crossword and paid little more attention to him. So now, first stop, the Poochyena's hideout. It was a good thing it was only a short distance away, because those carriers were quite awkward to carry. However, Rai looked out to see his destination, a run down shack that looked pretty flimsy. As he approached, he could see red eyes from the open doorway. There were also low growls and movement all around. And then... something hit him in the gut, knocking the crates out of his grasp and him to the ground. Well, isn't this just great, three dogs and one human. Time to even the odds. Rai grabbed three of his pokeballs and released them. Out came Chikorita, Spearow, and Skitty. He would have used Hooloo, but it's large size might have been a hinderence here in close quarters. So now, the real questing is, what attacks does Skitty know? Rai scanned the little pink cat with his poketch, but by the look of the Poochyena, there really isn't time to worry about specific attacks. A quick glance was enough to give Rai a strategy for the first round at least. He got off the ground and was back on his feet ready to give commands in short order. Some quick thinking and Rai said, "Alright guys, listen up. You are each going to need to take it one on one. Chikorita, use Growl, then Razor Leaf. Spearow, use Leer followed by Peck. Try to stay in the air as much as possible. You will be harder to hit that way. Skitty, use Fake Out and then Tackle. I'm counting on you to help me out here. All of you, try to avoid their attacks as much as possible. Alright? Go!" All Rai can do now, is hope for the best. He then took a moment to look at Skitty's info more thoroughly. Maybe there is something more useful then at first glance. He can only hope. |

Quickly all three Pokémon went into action, even the Skitty, happy to have a battle. Chikorita's target was the female Pokémon which was easily told apart from the males because of its small size and patches of dark grey fur throught its light grey coat, apart from the obvious physical differences. The growl hit and shocked Poochyena, lowering its defense and distracting it for just a second, in which the Razor Leaf hit knocking the Poochyena down. But this street hardened Pokémon recovered fast, and rammed into Chickorita with a harsh Tackle. Spearow, next to attack, leered at his young male opponent forcing attack down, and began to rise into the air. However, the Poochyena expected this, and lept at Spearow, pinning him down. Spearow struggled against the Pokémon trying to peck but could not manage it. Poochyena however, bit down on Spearow's helpless head. Cruel, I know. Skitty was facing a menacing Poochyena with an extra long tuft of hair on its head, looking very pleased with himself. Skitty's fakeout hit him full force (wiped the smug look off his face), and Poochyena flinched in its Tackle attempt. Skitty's following Tackle also hit and Poochyena rolled away into the shadows only to emerge moments later behind Skitty, ramming it with a Tackle of its own. Rai looked thoughtfully at his poketch, trying to figure out a strategy with Skitty's attacks. It said that this little pink cat knows Fake Out, Growl, Tail Whip, Tackle, and Attract. Quite the move set, and one that will probably be used to completion. Now, to see how everyone is doing. Chikorita got off a good hit on the little female, but got one back in return. Skitty got the larger male and gave him a good one-two punch, but again Tackled in return. Then, Spearow seems to be having the worst time. He got pinned down, and unable to do much at all. Oh, that is not good. Now, what to do? First, Spearow needs serious help. Rai said, "Spearow, it may look bad now, but when that Poochyena tries to get you again, Peck it in the nose, or use your talons to claw at his stomache. That ought to get the message across. Then, regardless of what happens, use Leer. That will help you in the long run. Just try to get airborne as soon as possible." He then turned his attention to Chikorita, saying, "Good job, Chikorita. Now, use an Agility to boost your speed, then nail it with another Razor Leaf. Do your best to keep your distance from that Poochyena. They are close range fighters." Finally, Rai focused on Skitty, saying, "Your doing great Skitty. So, if you would, use Attract and then Tackle it. Tough love might be the best option here. Also, try to avoid Poochyena's attacks as much as possible." Well now, if his luck holds out, everything will go well. Lets just hope it does. |
