Chikorita seemed to be alright, but there was definetly something wrong. He might have made himself dizzy from all the circles, or maybe an attack from the other creature. Either way, confusion is going to be hard to work around. Chikorita kept stumbling and couldn't manage to get away from another Bite. The poor thing didn't seem to have much strength left. Rai then looked over at the woman's battle. She didn't look to be having much luck either. He looked back to his own battle to see a Leer attack land and Chikorita struggle to hit it with Tackle. Rai didn't know what to do. All they need to do is land one more attack and that should be enough to end this. He called out to Chikorita, "Come on, Chikorita, you have to get up! If you can, try to use Body Slam on it again. That one attack should be enough to finish this battle. Please Chikorita, you have to get up and fight!" His voice was being strained from concern. This fight has become quite literally life and death. It needs to end, soon, and hopefully with a capture. After causing this much grief, the creature will be his. |

You gave your orders to your Chikorita. It started stumbling around. Fortunately he heard the orders. The only bad thing is that you only gave one order for it. Anyways, now your only problem is if Chikorita would hurt the creature/alian instead of itself. Chikorita ran towards the thing with its faster speed and jumped in the air to use Body Slam. The attack hit and the thing stumbled back a bit. Only because it hit the same place as to where the bruse was. Unfortunately the thing was still standing. It was mad at this point that it grapped Chikorita with a tentacle and used Bite on the poor little grass Pokémon. This looked quite painful. Now would be an excelent time to look away and watch the other battle. "Oh no! Electrike are you ok?" the lady asked it poor Pokémon as, once again, hit the ground. It wasn't going to give up on this fight either. The little girl ran up while lowering it head. A white glow formed around its head. The attack hit! But what was the attack? "That was a great Skull Bash. Now just keep it coming and maybe we can beat this thing." the lady said trying to compliment her as best she could. Then the thing grapped her little Electrike and used Absorb. A green light came from the alian and shot towards the little Pokémon. Then it went back to the thing and healed it. It looked quite painful. So that was a somewhat good round for both of you. Only bad thing is is that both of them are still standing and you Chikortita is be held captive. What will you do? Rai watched with remorse as Chikorita stumbled around, trying to follow through with the attack. Something had to be done with that confusion problem. Then he remembered hearing somewhere that if you recalled a confused Pokémon, when it returns to battle, it will lose the status problem. Could be worth a try. He then watched as the body slam hit the same bruse. That must be tender by now. But, then things went wrong, again. The creature managed to get a tentacle on Chikorita and use bite. Rai cringed and looked over to the woman and her battle. She seemed to be having a better time of it and her creature was paralyzed. He looked back to see Chikorita still in it's grasp. What a pain. Rai then called out to Chikorita, "Come on, you've got to break free! Use Tackle to do that, and then Headbutt it. You can beat this thing." Rai still held onto the empty ball, ready to throw it if the creature went down. |

The battles were getting close! The monster you were battling was within the catching range. But, you were wanting to give it the knock out that it deserved. You gave your commands, hoping that Chikorita could follow through. Beside you the woman was holding a pokeball as well. It looked like she was ready to catch her beastie as well. On wobbly legs, you grass Pokémon made his moves. He Headbutted the monster in the face, sending it reeling. This let your green Pokémon get free. The monster recovered quickly though, and brought in another Bite attack. Your Chikorita wasn’t looking too good. But he managed to make his last attack. He Tackled the monster as the monster came in with another Bite. The two collided, resulting in a double Knock out! Wow! What a fight! But, it wasn’t over! Your Chikorita twitched, and was trying very hard to get up. With all those cuts and bite marks, he didn’t have long. But he was up. He was a fighter, and he was hanging on! You threw out the pokeball, and in just moments, you were the proud owner of some alien monstrosity! Beside you the woman you had saved had just caught her monster as well. She gave you a weary smile and thanked you for saving her. “I don’t know about you, but I could use a trip to the Pokémon Center.” Level 5 ![]() 1/35 51%(Defense -2) (Speed +2) (Confused) -----Versus----- :... level 5 :genderless 0/35 51%(Attack -1) (Speed -1) -----2nd battle----- Level 8 ![]() 7/41 49%-----Versus----- :... Rai watched on at Chikorita's desperate struggle. He managed to get in the headbutt to the face to escape. He then went in again for the tackle, but was met with another bite. Rai turned his head at the last moment, not wanting to see the outcome. When he turned back, the creature was knocked out, but Chikorita managed to hang on. And with that, Rai tossed the pokeball at the creature. The ball rocked weakly before it was caught. He then ran over to Chikorita and picked him up, saying, "Hey, you did a great job. Now, we will go over to the Pokémon center and get you fixed up. How does that sound?" Chikorita nodded weakly before Rai returned him to his pokeball. Rai then walked over to the creature's ball, picked it up and stuck it on his belt, not really caring what it was at the moment. He then looked over at the woman and her Electrike. She had caught the other one, which was fine by him. She then mentioned about going to the Pokémon center. Rai then said, "Same here. Well, it seems as though the crisis has been averted for the moment. Oh, I don't think we have been introduced. My name's Rai, and you are?" (A pause for her to respond.) "Nice to meet you. Shall we get going then?" |

"The name's Linzy. Nice to meet you too." Linzi intoduced herself. You and Linzy walked to the Pokémon Center and after a few minutes of searching you finally found it. Only to find that it is packed with injured people and Pokémon alike. Could the Cthooloo's really do this much damage? You saw a few people in vegitative states who were being help by Chansey's and actual doctors. You couldn't beleive what happend to all these poor people. "Oh my! How could this have happened?" Linzy asked. You started to wonder the same thing. Eventually you and Linzy were helped by a Blissey and Chansey pair. You and Linzy thanked them for their help and you walked out of the Pokémon Center. "It's been nice meeting you Rai. I hope I can see you again!" Linzy said and then walked away. No that your Pokémon were healed, what are you going to do? Edited by Logar99, Nov 4 2008, 07:00 PM.

Rai and Linzy traveled to find a packed center. There were plenty of people and Pokémon that were hurt here. After a long wait, a Blissey and a Chansey came over to help them. Not much later, they were out of there. Linzy departed after saying good bye. Rai gave her his fairwell also and then went in search of a Pokémart. It wasn't too hard to find, given it's traditional blue roof, but along the way was a stand for tourist information. It seemed abandoned after the Cthooloo invaded, but there were plenty of maps. Rai took one from the stand, opened it and found it to be of the entire region. Rather conveinient, but he gave it a look over, finally deciding on going on to Hurst next, maybe spend some time on route 1 finding Pokémon too. With his plan of action in place, Rai went on to the store. At the counter, he asked for two additional pokeballs, giving him a total of 4. He handed over 120 in return. Rai walked out and moved on toward the edge of town and route 1. |

(That last paragraph could probably been expanded into two or three more paragraphs, but I’ll let that slide. I’ll also edit your Profile to take the :money $120 and add the x2 pokeballs. -M-)The great city of Tohea stood behind you. Smoke wafted into the skies from the green fireballs. You had seen some pretty crazy stuff in this town, and now you wanted to see what else was out there. Route One stretched out in front of you. It’s dirt road, and tall grassy paths waiting to be explored. As if to signal that this move was right, green fireballs were lifting from the lands, and arcing their ways up to the Vortex. The black, swirling clouds were settling down, and the Vortex appeared to be shrinking. The normal blue skies were returning. This was a good sign indeed. And thus you were off. The Route wasn’t very busy. Occasionally, you’d spot a trainer or a tradesman walking towards Tohea. Most of them had injuries. Seems as though the strange, blue monster’s had attacked in the wild as well. But, after an hour or so, the sky was turning from blue to orange as the sun began to set. So far, you hadn’t seen any Pokémon. Maybe they had all been scared away by the monsters. Maybe you could find some over night. If you went into the taller grasses that is. But, so far Route One had shown little more than a dirt road, and tall yellow-green grass on either side. Past that, there were occasional trees, and sprawling farmlands. |

Rai had been walking for a while, not seeing much except for sprawling farmland and tall grass. There was an occasional tree, but not a whole lot to be found. He passed a few people that looked abused. Those Cthooloo must have covered the entire countryside. Well, it doesn't really matter much now, they were leaving back into their vortex, with plenty of destruction in their wake. Thinking of, Cthooloo is rather hard to get across the tongue. Rai grabbed the ball that held the alien creature and brought it up to eye level. He stared at it for a minute trying to think up a name other than Ugly and Thing. "Fine," he muttered at the ball, "I'll just call you Hooloo." Happy with his decision, he replaced back on his belt and walked on. It was then he realized that it was starting to approach evening as the sky turned a rather beautiful orange. But the problem was more the fact that everything is completely open. Rai spotted a decently sized tree off the path a bit, like it really mattered much to cross a bit of tall grass. Anyway, he walked into tall grass on his way to the tree. It would provide some overhead protection, should it rain, or some other, unnatural phenominon occured. Maybe Rai will even flush out a Pokémon in hiding. Never know until it happens. |

(Changed Cthooloo's name to Hooloo) As you walked through the tall grasses, you felt an odd feeling that someone or something was watching you. The grasses reached up to your knee, and the feeling of stepping on something was upon you. Though luckily, no harm befell you, and no Pokémon either. You had crossed the tall grasses of Route 1. Well done! The shelter from the tree was great, but a little bit too great. As you stood underneath its mass, you had a feeling something was above your head. As you looked up, you were suddenly greeted with a figure jumping down from the tree. The figure was of a height of around 5'2", and had greasy black hair and deep dark eyes. He was of a pale complexion, but a tattoo of some kind of a snake Pokémon came down his arm, "I've been watching you." Wow, great opening sentence, already a nervousness was approaching you, but then this person looked like he was about eleven, so it didn't bother you that much, well, except for the underage tattoo he had of course, "I saw you with that Pokeball. You must be a trainer. Why don't we have a duel?" A duel? Okay then, why don't we? It was a bit unexpected and up front that he would suddenly challenge you like this, but then again he had a tattoo at the age of eleven, so it shouldn't scare you too much. With a flick of his hand, he pressed the button on his Pokeball and let loose his Pokémon, which explained his tattoo. -------------- Seviper Lvl 6 37/37 100% |

(Thanks) Rai crossed the short distance to the tree without much effort. A blessing and a curse. No new Pokémon to add to the party. Ah well, there is always tomorrow. Rai sat down with his back to the tree. He was planning on sleeping here, but apparently something else was in store for tonight. He looked up into the foliage to see someone in dark clothing, jumping down at him. Rai scrambled up from the ground in time to avoid being stomped. The kid, quite literally, looked like he was trying to be someone he couldn't be. All black clothes and pale skin. Would that be vampyric or gothic? Either way, after the intial shock, the runt didn't look all that tough. Then, the kid brought out a Seviper, and it matched the one tattooed to his arm. Now the only problem is whether Hooloo can beat it. Chikorita would have a rough time against a poison type, so there's no other choice. Rai sent out Hooloo, with it's massive 8 foot figure and the sense of impending doom that came along with it. Rai then said, "If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you're going to get. Hooloo, grab that Seviper and give it a Bite, then Body Slam it into the ground. Go!" Although Rai had a cocky grin at this point, he was actually concerned about the possibilities should Hooloo not listen to his commands; each more horrible than the last. No, don't think about that, just focus on the battle. So, Rai watched what would happen next. |

Though the kid acted tough (and really kind of creepy,) you could tell that you had surprised him as he saw the behemoth creature emerge from the sphere, looming over his Seviper. Hooloo's tentacles twitched, and its wings fluttered, and you could definitely see a line of drool leaking down one of the tentacles that came from its mouth. Which was...kinda gross, really, but maybe the monster was just hungry. And hopefully not for human or Pokémon flesh, either. As you gave your commands, the creature's wings flapped irritably, obviously not thrilled with being forced to serve a human. However, and you had proven yourself by beating it in combat, the creature listened to your commands, lumbering forward toward the long, sinuous snake. "Soulless, use agility to stay away from that thing, and use Lick when you can." With his appearance and a name like Soulless, you could tell this kid had serious issues. However, the snake's slithering sublimely escalated, and it shot out of the way of your Hooloo's initial attempt with its tentacles, whipping around and licking the monster. Of course, you knew that Dark types were strong against Ghost type attacks, and so you weren't worried, especially when the monster grabbed the snake, hefting it into the air before slamming it into the ground with a Body Slam. Not a bad start. ----------- :... Lv 5 33/35 94%-V.S.- Lv. 6 33/37 93%(Speed +1) |

Rai's fears of betrayal were put to the side for the time being because Hooloo went and followed his orders. He did notice the twitch of irritation about being told what to do, but they were still new together, so it will take some getting used to. He watched as that serpent wiggled out of the way of the bite with the same kind of manuver that he himself used against it. Well, two can play at the speed game, it will just take some time to work. Rai then saw Hooloo grab the Seviper and slam it into the ground with a noticable thud. A good start, and if it can only lick, this may be an easy battle. Rai then though up a good next round combo that would take their opponents by surprise. It just might work. Rai called out, "Good work. Now, use Agility and follow up with another Body Slam." With that, the lumbering giant won't be lumbering any more. |

The goth kid seemed a tad upset, as if he was hoping that the paralytic effects of the Lick would take hold on your gigas, but to no avail. "Those things are Pokémon, then?" he asked, looked a bit skeptical, as if you had simply taken a monster and placed it inside of a pokeball. "Soulless and I wrecked one earlier. I didn't think anything that weak would be a Pokémon." The boy seemed to have a decent grasp of strategy, then, if he was able to take on one of them with just his Seviper. As the next round began, your Cthoolhoo's body relaxed visibly, and its movements became a bit more fluid. "Soulless, try to use Screech, and then wrap!" the boy commanded as your monster shot forward to follow your directions. Lifting it again, it was surprised as the snake Pokémon suddenly let out an ear-splitting scream out of nowhere, causing the defenses of your Pokémon to be visibly shaken, though the Screech wasn't as potent as you heard from others. Perhaps it was still learning? Either way, the Body Slam didn't go off as expected as the Seviper slithered out of Hooloo's tentacled grasp as it was surprised by the screech, and wrapped its lower coils around the massive creature's legs, tightening painfully. Perhaps this kid wasn't as big of a pushover as you thought? ----------- :... Lv 5 30/35 89%(Speed +1) (Defense -1) -V.S.- Lv. 6 32/37 87%(Speed +1) |

Rai felt rather confident about their chances, up until the point the goth kid spoke again. He had beaten a Cthooloo? Damn, this is going to be much harder than at first glance. Rai watched, and cringed, as the Seviper screeched hideously. He could only imagine how shaken Hooloo was at that point. The snake then wrapped itself around it's legs. Enough of those crappy cheap shots. It's time to get some distance between them. Rai stared at the ground for a moment before looking up. He said in a much more relaxed voice, "Hooloo, use Leer, then blow it away with Gust. You need to get distance between you two." Rai had two minds about this combo. One, it gets distance, but two, Hooloo's ability might not kick in for a while yet. Oh well. Let's see what's going to happen. |
