A nice day's rest on the S.S Kline was sure invigorating as the service shown from the staff was just impeccable as well as the rest you had just last night on the ship. After an invigorating breakfast on the deck, the captain grabbed his speaker phone his control panel's strap and spoke into it with a mildly calming tone.

"Attention passengers, we are nearing the end of our trip. In just an hour, the S.S Kline will be docking at the Tohean Harbor and everyone must leave the ship with all their belongings. We, the Kline's staff, wish that you had a relaxing cruise these past few days and hope that you enjoy the rest of your time off here in Tohea. Please finish your meal soon and begin packing, and again, thank you for boarding."

It could have been a less, erm, unoriginal speech, but I guess that captain was getting tired of minding the wheel for so long in the morning.

The hour went by quickly and somewhat hastily as the ship came and docked by the Tohean Harbor a little bit earlier than expected. Everyone rushed off the bridge down and out of the harbor as fast as they could, trying to avoid any injuries or the logical chance of falling off into the water. Fortunately, the wooden docks were surprisingly both wide and sturdy and kept everyone happily speeding on their way and safe from getting wet.

A grueling ten minutes attempting to wave your way through the enormous crowd proved successful as you eventually popped out into an open area which was also the entrance into the city. Many people from both yours and the other ships were hopelessly observing their maps and locating a hotel before doing anything else. Pffft, tourists.

Anyways, now that you've finally made your way off into the big city, there are, as you know, plenty of crap you can do before dawn traded shifts with the afternoon and so forth. A Pokémon Center stood out like a middle finger from everything else in front of you since it was the biggest building off for only a mile until you reached the skyscrapers. Nice little place to start off and ask questions, contact old friends from old towns and getting your Pokémon healed. Of course, the latter option isn't really necessary at the moment since you have yet to encounter any Pokémon to battle.

Huh, you hear something? Actually, if you look close enough through the glass doors of the Pokémon Center doors, you can just make out something going on in one of the backrooms. Oh my god, is my eyes playing tricks on me or did I just see some kind of electric fire bursting from the room?! Maybe on the nurses are having technical problems with one of the machines, but who knows. There could be a little Pokémon battle already in front of you. Too bad I can't open the doors for you so you don't need to, but you could go barging in and scream something totally rude and random. Yeah, don't listen to me when I say that.

Ow! Watch where your going! Argh! Watch it! Ooph! Move! Der!

Ah, the sounds of huge bustling crowds at a city port, music to some peoples ears. Thankfully, Alex had managed to find a place with about a three meter perimeter around him, free of people with less manners than a cabbage. He stretched and relished in the morning sunlight, which bounced of buildings into the city of Tohea. He hadn't really gotten a chance to stretch and breath on the cruise but now in his own little space, he could rest and relax a little.

He reached into his bag and pulled out a red and white ball, pressing the rubber button to release in a brilliant flash of red, his Nincada. Bugsy was her name, a thing of beauty, a Pokémon in which all things buggy manifested. She was a little smaller than other Nincadas were, but Alex did not mind this because he was not your average sized fifteen year old. His short stature however did have its advantages, as did it for Bugsy. Bugsy buzzed happily as she stretched her wings after the supposedly cramped conditions of the pokeball.

Alex's thoughts were interupted, when he noticed a flash from the Pokémon center, a green electrical jolt, someone must be in trouble. He and Bugsy made a dash for the pokmemon center, the first time Alex had ran in a while so his legs took a moment to adjust before they were at their full propelling power. Bugsy scittered along behind him, more than able to keep up. He reached the doors of the Pokémon center and entered.

((Welcome to Tohea!!!))

You ran over to the Pokémon Center to find out what was going on. When you open the door you saw another bright flash of green light. Come to find out, it was a wild Pokémon that no one was able to controll. For the time being of course.

You carefully made your way in to find out what Pokémon it was and come to find out it was in a battle with another trainer. You took a close look to find out that it was an Electrike and it looked rather stronge! What was an Electrike doing in a Pokémon Center? Anyways, It just gave the finishing blow to its opponet which was a Ralts.

:electrike Level 6 :male

So are you going to fight it or run away and try to find a better first battle? It's your choice. You don't have to fight it if you don't want to.

An Electrike! As much as he hated to admit it, he did not like this Pokémon. The fight would be unbearable. So Alex picked up his Nincada, turned and fled, back to the safety of the outside Tohean streets, well relatively safer. He thought back to his young life where a Pokémon just like this had scarred him, mentally scared, with a terrifying jolt sent coursing through his body paralyzing him. He did not fear electricity though, just Electrikes.

He heard another scream for help as he fled. He neared the doors and was out them fast. no doubt he would leave that Pokémon for a skilled trainer. Bugsy was struggling about in his arms as he ran, he had no idea where he was going and vaguely remembered cars, houses, people and Pokémon. The next thing he knew he was on some sort of door step far from the Pokémon center, sobbing to the surprise of himself and his Pokémon. People passed by every now and then but cared naught for the boy with the golden hair. He just hoped that someone had a heart in this city to offer him comfort.

(Hope this isn't God-modding, I had no Idea what to do.)

Character Title
Gentleman Adventurer
(OOC- Your Fine Lucius. On to the ref!)

You’d fled the Pokémon Center, terror clawing at your heart. Faintly you thought you heard Nurse Joy scream as she got shocked. But, that was her problem! You were too busy running through the streets like a man possessed. After what seemed like an eternity, you slowed to a stop. You were leaning an a doorway, trying to catch your breath. Bugsy leaned up, licking the tears away from your face. Such a sweet Pokémon.

“Looks like you’d just seen a Ghastly.” A voice commented from inside the building. The door had opened, apparently. Within the building, a giant of a man leaned down, looking you over. He wore a red-flannel shirt and a red stocking cap. His thick beard was gray with touches of white nearer his face. He looked like a cross between Santa and a lumberjack.

“Well, well. There’s nothing wrong that can’t be fixed. Right? I tell you what. I’ll give you a little gift, so long as you promises to face whatever your fear is. Deal?” The guy must be crazy. Face your fears? And a gift, what did her really want in return? But (just assuming here) you agreed. And the mountain of a man handed you a box from his leather backpack.

“Alright son, I’ve got to get going. Busy-busy. You know how it is.” And them man walked out of the building, closing the door behind him. He was out in the streets and lost to the crowd before you could even say thank you. That just left the package. What could it be?

You opened the pack to find a Great ball and a potion! Wow! That was truly awesome. As you picked up the Greatball, you could sense… something was in it! Then, in a flash of red light, you had a new Pokémon. Shieldon wanted to play!

(I’ll update your profile. Happy b-day!)

(OOC - OMG! A Shieldon. So cute and... smooth (assuming the steal is smooth.)

Alex was filled with glee,he had a Shieldon, he picked it up and huggled it despite its weight, Bugsy flittering away just in time to avoid being crushed. The Shieldon seemed happy with its new trainer, and Alex skipped with joy, meaning he literally skipped down the stairs and into the street taunting those who didn't have one. After this he felt really tired and his arms hurt from lifting Shieldon, so found a step to sit down on, he then began to talk to a dizzy looking Shieldon.

"Hello little guy, I'm your new trainer Alex" he said patting its head, "Your my dream come true, and since you are part of my team, you need a nickname." He placed his hand on his chin, rubbing it and suddenly an idea hit him "I'll call you Rammy, does that sound good?" A happy nod was all he needed in response, so he made a note of it in his poketech.

Rammy the Shieldon
:pokedex Shieldon, the Shield Pokémon.
Shieldon possesses an extremely hard facial hide; however, it is vulnerable when attacked from behind. This Pokémon has a habit of polishing its face against tree trunks.

"Attacks from behind? Better remember that," Alex said turning his Poketech off and turning back to Rammy and Bugsy. The two were looking at each other closely, inspecting the other. Rammy pushed it head against Bugsy lightly and rubbed, it wasn't a tree even though it was brown. Bugsy moved out of the way and behind Rammy, when Bugsy rubbed against his back legs Rammy laughed, or what seemed like a laugh. He was ticklish back there. Alex was happy as he watched to two, and smiled. "I wonder what new adventures await us."

Well Rammy does look very happy to be with you indeed, and obviously made a friend of Bugsy already. That may turn out to be good later on should a double battle come up where you need a good team. And that could possibly be closer than you think, as many trainers were looking in your direction with envy. You know that there are drawbacks to being so... pompous if you will, don't you? If you didn't, then you do now as some were coming closer to you, and a few of them didn't look too friendly.

One person called out a Pokémon, and all of the others backed off, groaning about not getting the chance first. You saw that he had a Chikorita all ready to battle your Pokémon. The good news is that it's not super effective, so that's not too bad. Especially since you knew he wanted to battle your Shieldon to prove to you that you weren't better just because you had one.

"Chikorita, let's start this battle off with a Growl and an Agility. Try to dodge anything that this trainer throws at you. We need to see how he battles first."

That's simple enough. Your retaliation?

Alex saw the looks, frankly he did not care, he had a Shieldon, a rare Shieldon. Rammy, Rammy the Shieldon. What? A trainer, out of nowhere, well not nowhere. Alex stood and Shiledon bounced to the ground making a ka-thud where he laded.

"Rammy, lets show this hotshot what being a Pokémon trainer means to me, and what being a Pokémon means to you."

Alex knew that being the one to make the first move was not the best in this scenario. But what to do? Rammy couldn't attack, he had less speed then this Chikorita so attacking would leave him open for attacks from behind. But he had an idea, a tricky idea, but it just might work.

"Rammy, I want you to back up against the wall to protect your but. Use your weight to stop yourself being moved by Chikorita and guard from the front with your face. If you see an opening I want you to kick off from the wall and ramm into Chikorita with a Tackle, hopefully your weight will add a little extra to it."

Alex was happy woth his strategy, he wanted to train Rammy a little. If he ever needed to he could use Bugsy with her super effective Leech Life and enhanced speed, but best to go the defensive in this case. Now to see how the events unfold.

So your offence was a defence? Good plan, that way this, quite frankly annoyed trainer wouldn't see any real offensive strategies and be knocked totally off guard right? That was what you were aiming for right? It didn't matter anyway, Shieldon understood you perfectly and backed up slowly against the wall in case Chikorita tried any sneaky tactics against him.

Chikorita glared at Shieldon and let out a high pitched squeal at him. It appeared to do nothing physically, but you knew what the effects of Growl were. Chikorita then began to run on the spot, his legs almost becoming blurs. He was ready for anything that came at him now. Chikorita then ran backwards and forwards in an attempt to try to tease your newly acquired Pokémon.

Left, right, left, right, STUMBLE! Now was your Shieldon's chance! He leapt up onto the wall and for what seemed like an age, he merely stood there vertically. Then he sprung off the wall and making sure that his face was flat to maximise damage, he slammed into the small leaf Pokémon with a tackle. The impact knocked both Pokémon back several feet.

The trainer looked stunned but his Chikorita got up and merely shook herself off. This battle was far from over yet, your Shieldon was going to pay for that attack! It seemed that his teasing tactics didn't go over that well and cost him a fair amount of his health. Well this battle was turning in your favour already. How long are you going to be able to keep it up for?

Alex grinned, the strategy worked, but he definatley would not try it again because this Chikorita looked smart, and so did his trainer. A new move would be great in this scenario, but Rammy only knew Protect and Tackle, and now without the wall he was vulnerable. Alex checked his Poketch for something, anything, the moveset that Shieldon learned... ah-ha. This could turn the tables in Alex's favour.

"Rammy, listen to me very closly, were going to try and teach you a new move, if I can that is" he said thinking hard "I want you to focus, try and create an iron shell over your facial hide and then ram Chikorita. If I am not mistaken, this will cause a similar effect to the move Iron Head, the move I want to teach you."

Rammy nodded at this command, "However" Alex continued, "If this attack fails, I want you to try and block the oncoming attack that is sure to follow." Alex grinned at this, if it worked he was on his way to teaching his Pokémon Iron Head, and if it didn't he would still try later as the move would be a usefull asset.

Okay, now I'm looking at this and I'm wondering how exactly you think a Level 3 Shieldon is supposed to pull of a move it usually learns at Level 43. Granted, this isn't impossible, but it's not very realistic to hope for this with less than a page of pure directions of teaching this move. I'm hoping that you won't be surprised to find that this ended in nothing but failure for Rammy. And with such a young Pokémon, that's not very good for its fragile self esteem. Of course that's something that you'll have to worry about, not me.

Confused about what you meant by creating an iron shield, as it certainly had no power to do such a thing. Then when you said to ram Chikorita, he at least was able to understand that you wanted him to Headbutt the damned plant Pokémon. Of course he knew that this wasn't just what you wanted, but he really didn't know what to do. So he focused really hard and pretended that he was made out of nothing but metal before running at the enemy.

Eyes wide, Chikorita whipped his head around, releasing the leaf attached to his head, which flew at Rammy. Rammy was hit with it, but didn't let it knock him completely off balance, continuing his run at the plant. Finally, he smashed right into Chikorita, knocking it over. While you weren't successful at teaching Iron Head, you did manage to do something with Headbutt.

(I'm a little shocked at how much damage that did to him, could you explain how? Did the Razor Leaf hit him in the back? Did he sustain dammage from the move? It just seems odd that Rammy could suffer that much from a single attack.)

Alex realised that it probably wasn't the best thing to do to Rammy, teaching Iron Head. Its an advanced move more suitable for the stronger of Pokémon. Alex decided that it may be best to congratulate Rammy, and not try that again for a while. "Rammy, that was very good, sorry for making you do that it wasn't nice of me, I guess I got a little carried away." Rammy seemed a little happier and turned to face Chikorita "Okay Rammy, lets try and win this, I don't want you to get hurt however so if you get tired I may have to resort to other measures."

"Rammy, weight is a key factor in this battle and in your body, Chikorita is a little speedy but we will show him. Run at him with a Tackle, get your weight behind it and really slam into him. If he is knocked down, attack with another Tackle and that same weight counter quickly." Alex commanded, if this worked the Chikorita would be 'smooshed' by Rammy's weight. If rammy as injured he could always switch out and send in Bugsy, or forfeit the battle. I suppose time will tell what happen, Alex just hopes Rammy doesn't get hurt in the process.

((I think it was because of level difference and Rammy wasn't expecting the attack.))

So you decided to give up on Iron Head for now. Some might call you a quiter, others would say you made the right choice. I say you made a right choice on not teach it during the middle of a battle. But that's just my opinion. Then again, we should probably get back to the battle.

Rammy was charging towards the Chikorita and tried to put all its weight in the first Tackle that you asked for. He was about to make contact when the little plant thing side-stepped and almost got out of the way. The attack hit but wasn't full contact and yet it still set the Chikorita flying a little. It landed on the ground a short distance away and while it was hover barely above the ground, Rammy was going in for another Tackle. This one made full contact and the Chikorita was hit so hard that it would be counted as a critical hit. You might win this yet! The Chikorita was so stunned by the attack that it wasn't able to do anything. Good thing for you isn't it?

This round was over and it was starting to turn around for you. Who knows what could happen next?

Alex was surprised at how powerful those attacks were, Rammy obviously had a bit of vigor and fight left in him, but it wasn't over yet and he had this strange feeling that he was needed somewhere else. "Rammy, that was great!" he excalimed happily, "Level difference or not your really kicking the smug out of Chikorita." Alex was happy with Rammy, and even though he was young Alex could see that Rammy would be a great assest to his team, even alongside Bugsy.

As if in response to this, Bugsy skittered to Alex's shoulder watching Rammy intently. Alex guessed what she was thinking: 'Lets see what this new creature can do.' Sure enough, Rammy seemed to turn to Alex awaiting a command, though young he had begun to trust him. Alex laughed, "Ah the naivety of the young," he said.

"Rammy, you did very well. Now, the trainer and Chikorita will be expecting that same tactic." He stroked Bugsy's head, "Now, I want you to run at Chikorita with another tackle exactly as before using two tackles. I want you to try to hit him head on too, if this works, this battle may be over." He commanded, and waited for the events to unfold.

Watching you and your Pokémon carefully, the Chikorita's trainer was also trying to come up with his own plan. Seeing your Shieldon start to run at Chikorita, he called out to the plant Pokémon, telling him to use another Agility. Chikorita did and quickly got out of Shieldon's way and started run forward and turn around to face his opponent. But Shieldon was already coming at him with another Tackle, and the trainer panicked and told Chikorita to use another Razor Leaf. Slow motion activated, you see Chikorita start to swing his head around, causing the leaf to detach...

BAM! Before the leaf could even start to spin towards Shieldon, he made contact with Chikorita, causing the Razor leaf to fail. Chikorita hit the ground, though this time the Tackle wasn't a critical hit. It did, however, still cause enough damage to put you in the advantage. Of course it would definitely take at least one more round before you would win this battle. Hopefully Chikorita won't be able to land a Razor Leaf again, because you know that that could actually end the battle in a bad way.

"Alright Chikorita, no more playing nice! Use Razor Leaf twice! One of them has to hit that plant!" Uh-oh... sounds like he knows that that can end it too.
