Welcome to Tohea! The City of Wonder! Just smell that fresh salt air, feel that wonderful wind! The waves crashed gently against the beach as kids played in the water and on the sand. You were finally here and ready to begin your journey. That is, if the Wingull wouldn't stop pecking at your head. It would appear that you had stepped a little too close to her nest full of baby Wingull. They squawked at you as their mother tried to chase you off. Unfortunately, your struggling with the Wingull ended up having you bump into an elderly man, knocking him off balance. His slow but steady Growlithe snarled at the intrusion and fired off an Ember at the bird. It missed and struck the nest. Now, an old man was down, the Wingull was pecking at the snarling Growlithe, and the Wingull nest was starting to burn. Well, this isn't the right foot off at all. You could whistle and stroll away as though you didn't do anything or you could at least save the baby Wingull and help the old man up. Edited by nopok1, Aug 7 2008, 05:32 AM.

Zeke stood with a confused look on his face. He saw the Wingull nest burning, the Growlithe and mother Wingull fighting, and the old man who he accidently knocked down appeared to be hurt. Darn he said to under his breathe. Pondering on what he should do. "What would father do?" he said. When he thought about it, he knew that his father would try to fix his sictuation, and not try to stand around doing nothing. Zeke got next to the man, he reached his hand out, tryign to help the old man up onto his feet. "Old man, call off your Growlithe. If we don't hurry, that Wingull's nest is going to burn up and her babies are going to die." He turned around to look at the nest. He knew that stopping a fire wasn't exactly a Fire Pokémon's strong suit but, nothing can be done about it. He heard the Wingulls chirping for their mother however, their mother was too busy battling to notice. Zeke wipped the sweat off his forehead and then reached for a Pokeball that was on his belt. He licked the ball, making it bigger. He then threw the Pokeball, and out came his Level 5 Magby. "Magby! Magby Mag Magby!" "Magby, no time to play. We have to save those Wingull from their burning nest. The flame won't hurt you too much, so don't be afraid t jump right in there." Magby hopped right into the burning nest and grabbed a Wingull. It then jumped down from the nest and layed the baby on the ground."Good job, Magby. Now get the rest of them." |

The old man huffed wheezily as he struggled to his feet with the help of your hand. He finally up righted himself, drooping to the ground and clutching his chest, trying to catch his breath. When he finally had collected the strength to stand up properly, he looked upward and saw the scene unfolding in front of him. He jerked his head in the direction of his Growlithe, eyes widening slowly. You say, "Old man, call off your Growlithe. If we don't hurry, that Wingull's nest is going to burn up and her babies are going to die." He stares at you a bit, processing the information with his less-than-it-used-to-be brain of his, finally nodding slightly. He raised a wrinkled hand, hoarsely yelling, "Scooter! Heel, boy!" He patted his thigh, as if calling back a dog. He apparently had no Poké ball to contain it, as he treated it as a pet. The Growlithe had no interest in his master's pleas, and he kept firing off attacks at the mother Wingull, who was dodging them splendidly. But not splendidly enough. One if the attacks hit as she was going into a dive-bomb, and she lost her composure, but still hit her target. The flame-charred Wingull crashed head-on into the old man's Growlithe, putting them both out of action. The old man, shrugged at you, as if saying, "Sorry I couldn't be of more help," then began to hobble over to his injured Growlithe. But then the two got up again, and went at it, tearing at each other viciously. Meanwhile, Magby was busy rushing the baby Wingulls out of their nest. He had already saved the lives of two of them, but there were still two inside the flaming nest, squealing for attention. Your Magby was able to rush one more out, but past that the flames were simply too much to handle for even a Fire-type. You heard the baby Wingull give one last shriek, then no more. Magby was petrified. Then, to top it all off, the mother Wingull finally lost her interest in Growlithe. It saw the nest, and coldly looked at Magby, who was still scared stiff. Zeke grunted as he saw that this sictuation grew worse. The last Wingull had fainted. Taking them to a Pokémon Center wouldn't help now... he said to himself. He looked at the Growlithe on the ground. He saw the mother Wingull glaring at Magby. He tried putting the pieces together, and when he did he came to one conclusion. The mother thinks Magby killed them! he said to himself. He quickly grabbed his Pokeball and returned Magby. "My Magby is in no condition to battle you, Wingull." Zeke said to the mother. She was lucky to have 3 out of 4 Wingull surivived. Even though Zeke tried his best to save the babies, though he couldn't help but feel slightly guilty. However, First was first, he had to make both sides of the battle feel good. He looked at the mother Wingull and said, "Listen, Wingull. I can't bring back your babies, but I can repay you by rebuilding your nest. What do you say?" Zeke waited for the Wingull to reply.(If it said no then he would leave, instead of staying and provoking it to fight.) He turned around and saw the old man, his Growlithe on the ground. His Growlithe appeared to be injured, the only way for the Growlithe to make a safe recovery, was for it to be captured itno a Pokeball and tooken to the Pokémon center. Zeke approached the Old man one final time, asking him a simple question before he went to help the Wingull with her nest. He said to the Old man, "If you don't hurry Growlithe to the Pokémon Center, it could be in some serious trouble. Sir, do you have a Pokeball to return Growlithe to?" Swooping out of the sky, mother Wingull flew right to the scene were her injured babies were. She began to spray water on them, curing some of the burn, and then drew all attention to the burning nest. The bird shot a powerful water gun attack right at the burning nest, knocking it right out of the tree. It came tumbling down to the ground in a ball of flame, and a small Wingull chick came right out of the nest, flapping its small wings in the air. In an instant, the mother swooshed right toward her young, grabbing it to safety on the ground. Well, at least that one knows how to fly after all this. You tried to explain your case to the bird, but let's put it frank; it's a bird. Not exactly the most intelligent of species, and really not even in this case could it draw a conclusion to what the human was speaking to it. The bird cawed at you, wrapping her large wings around the four young, two on either side of her body. She seemed to be defending them, and obliviously just wanted you, and that other trainer, plus your own Pokémon out of this picture. The old man shook his head in the 'yes' direction, recalling the Growlithe to a blue and white sphere he had on a make-shift trainer belt. "Well, thank you for the help, sunny," the man spoke as you helped him off the ground. He had a smile on his face, and was simply delighted someone was offering to help him. He fixed himself up, wiping the dirt from his clothes. After he was done with the quick grooming, the man reached out his hand, offering you a strange disc-looking thing he seemed to have within his coat somewhere. "Go on, laddy, you earned it. Not everyday I get the courtesy you put forth." Well, it was quite nice of the man to offer it, even if it was just something petty he'd probably picked up at a thrift store. +1 TM 11 (Sunny Day)

Is that a Technique Machine Zeke said to himself. Zeke grabbed the disc, and put the disc in a specifc part of his bag. He had no idea what move the disc taught but, he was very anxious and had to ask the man. "Thank you, sir." he said to the old man. "But may I ask, what exactly does this move do?" He listened to the old man, eventually finding out that the TM taught the move Sunny Day. Zeke would know about Sunny Day, it was a fire move. Zeke loved Fire Pokémon and a side goal of his was to make the strongest Fire Pokémon in the world. To him, Fire Pokémon were everything that was important in the world. They were brave, and strong. He didn't have anything against the other types of Pokémon, he just adored Fire types the most. "Once again, I'd like to say thank you, sir. Also, when your Growlithe is back to full strength, I was wondering if we could have a battle. You see, my Magby is young, and I want to raise it into the strongest Fire Pokémon in the world. So, I guess I'll see you later, huh?" Zeke waved goodbye to the man, and then headed into the city of Tohea, looking for a Pokémon center. Hopefully even a Pokémon battle. |

Indeed, it didn't take you long to find a Pokémon Center at all. Needless to say that the whole visit involved a few minutes of waiting in a crowded waiting room for a Chansey to take your Pokémon to the healing machine. After that was said and done, the pink nurse Pokémon returned your Pokeball with Magby inside within seconds afterward. Apparently the fire type's damage hadn't been too extensive. All of that said and done, once again you found yourself traveling on the streets of Tohea. You feet weren't really taking you anywhere in particular, but before you knew it, you felt someone tap you on the shoulder. Wheeling around, you saw a dodgy-looking guy with a strange accent and goth clothes (and insanely pale skin) standing behind you. He was wearing black sweatpants, a simple shirt with a skull and crossbones on front, and black sandals. There were numerous chains and tattoos on his person, and it was obvious that his black hair had been dyed a few times. "Might I ask you to battle me for some training? If you win, you'll get something nice," he asked in a weird accent that you couldn't quite place. Maybe it's just how he speaks...but anyway, were you going to accept this weirdo's challenge? The training would be beneficial for your Magby, and you had the opportunity to "get something nice". I certainly wouldn't want to push past this one. To help with your decision, the guy also released the Pokémon that he'd be battling with. He activated a Pokeball, which opened up and revealed a rather surprising Pokémon for such a guy...A Larvitar. How he got a hold of one of these things was beyond you, but who were you to argue with the facts? Anyway, even though it was young, it could still be considered deadly.... Lv. 6

Damn Zeke said to himself. I haven't had much time to train Magby. Plus, Magby doesn't know nay Fire moves, not that it would help. You never know unless you try then again, so with no other choice, Zeke had decided to battle the strange Trainer. "Fine, I accept your challenge!" he said, picking up Magby's Pokeball, pushing the button, making the ball expand in size. Zeke then threw the ball, and out came his Level 5 Magby. Though, it was a sure chance that Magby wouldn't be able to win. The only moves it knew were probably Smog and Leer. This was Zeke and Magby's first battle, so it would be good to see how well they could manage as Trainer and Pokémon. "Magby, are you ready?!" "Magby!" "Okay, Magby! Use Smog and then use Tackle!" Magby took a deep breathe a release a toxic gas toward Larvitar. The gas covered the field lightly. However, the gas wasn't thick enough to blind someone. Due to Zeke's inexperience, he didn't know that. From behind, Magby came and thinking Larvitar had a blind spot, Magby charged at Larvitar with a full power Tackle. |

(The thickness of the Smog wasn't really at your discretion, but as it's minor I'll let it slide) "Excellent, a Magby," the other trainer commented, his eyes shining strangely. He was probably a Pokemaniac of sorts, but in terms of his interests, that wasn't really any of your business. "Larvitar, let's show them what you can do. Use Sandstorm to counter the Smog, and then use the cover of the move to take a Bite out of your opponent." His phrasings were a little odd, but this guy didn't seem to be a bad strategist at all. Besides, you were squaring off against a fairly rare Pokémon, and who were you to refuse a possible reward? Unluckily for you, your Smog barely had any effect on the Larvitar as it drowned it out a moment later by spinning around and creating a Sandstorm tornado. This expanded into a sand storm that blanketed the whole area, and the nearby beach only made conditions worse in the battle. Needless to say that the scouring sand caused some damage to your beloved Magby...and would continue to do so unless you could find a way to nullify or block the attack. You could also wait for the attack to end, but it may be too late by then. As Magby tried to get back on his feet, Larvitar moved in behind him with the Sandstorm as a screen for cover. As Magby wildly tried to spot his opponent, Larvitar knocked him to the ground and bit the little guy's tail. Magby flailed wildly, trying to shake his opponent off. After a minute or so of this he succeeded, but he was still pretty tired from the past round. Larvitar had a deadly upper hand, and if you weren't careful and didn't turn things around, you and Magby could be in for a world of pain. Ready for round two with the chain goth? Great Zeke said to himself. I should've quit when I had the chance. He had no idea what to tell Magby. The best thing he could do really was hope Magby wasn't too upset about losing. Could Zeke really think this? What happened to his enthusiasm before? Whatever enthusiam he had before is gone now. Seeing how there wasn't a snowballs chance in hell of him winning. This battle was rigged anyway he said to himself. Although, he couldn't just let his Pokémon get buffeted by the sandstorm. He had to try something. Zeke put his game face back on and said, "It isn't over yet." Magby! the Fire Pokémon shouted. It could feel Zeke's energy flowing through him. "Magby, Dyanimc Power. Wait for my command!" It was obvious to both of them that they were going to lose. However, there's more then Pokémon in a Pokémon battle. Maybe Zeke could provoke the goth into making the wrong move. "Hey goth dude!" Zeke shouted. Zeke then choose his words correctly. Because here was an age old question, How do you provoke a goth kid? "I heard Slipknots underground album rocked!" Was Slipknot even a band that goths would listen to? Who knows really, Zeke was just trying to use Reverse psychology. if it's true that most goths like what people don't like, then the goth kid he battling would get mad. Then again, this could just be a stereotype created by society. Either way, it was his only chance. Meanwhile, Magby centered itself, focusing all of it's power. It's next move would have a huge amount of it's energy put into the attack. However, this will only work if Magby's timing is correct. OOC:
Um, I know this is how all mods roleplay but, I do NOT like it when someone else shadowplays my Pokémon....at all...I don't mean to be a grinch but still, I don't like it. |

(First of all, that ref had NOTHING wrong with it. Secondly, obviously a Pokémon is going to have to spot its opponent in order to attack properly, so your complaint is pretty much pointless. None-the-less, here is your ref.)) The opponent heard your words and a look of confusion splashed upon his face. "What the hell is Slipknot?" he said to himself before shrugging it off and getting back to the battle. He'd paid VERY close attention to what you'd said, and he hadn't heard a command come from you at all, and thus, he had a way to finish this battle quickly. "Larvitar, use the Sand Storm to mask yourself now and just move in on that Bagon. Use a close-ranged Leer that penitrates deep into its core and then use bite to throw it. That stupid trainer of his obviously isn't planning on winning this battle, so let's give him what he wants." He ordered, definately out of what the usual goth would be percieved as, but it didn't matter because it looked like you were about to lose. Magby was standing completely still, waiting for your cue to move as you'd instructed but it didn't seem as though that was coming any time soon so he just started gathering up energy for a later time as the sandstorm caused by Larvitar raged on and pelted him with tiny pellets of dirt. Using the sandstorm, Larvitar moved rapidly throughout the field, like the mist that appeared and vanished only moments later. And then, Larvitar was looking deep into Magby's eyes with the darkest leer he could manage. Larvitar's eyes had become black as night, and they caused the rest of his face to seem much darker than it truly was, and Magby couldn't help but feel weaker at this. Larvitar then vanished into the sandstorm, reappearing moments later with his jaws tight around Magby's arm as he flung Magby half across the skies through the storm back into the ground closer to you. Larvitar looked up at you, its eyes still black as it soon faded away. "Good Job, Larvitar." The trainer praised sullenly as he waited on the next turn to begin. Lv. 5 18/35 86%(Defense -1) (Being pelted by sand and small stones) VS Lv. 6 35/37 82%(Larvitar's Sandstorm in effect: 4 more turns) |

Magby saw Larvitar use it's Leer attack and fear filled it's heart however, not just it's heart but Zeke's as well. Damn, what do I do Zeke said to himself. Do I give up while the going get's tough? he said talkign to himself, pondering on what to do. He then took out his Pokeball and pointed it at his Magby. He pressed hard on the Pokeball and a red beam was released from it, hitting his Magby and returning it to his Pokeball. "Listen, you won." Zeke said. He knew that he was a coward for running away from a fight. He couldn't even look at the goth kid in the face, his head looking down at the ground. "Look, you beat me. Fair and Square. Now get going!" Zeke said to the goth. No way I'm in shape to battle a guy who's this strong....Afterall, I'm just a newbie right? Zeke put his head up and looked at the goth. |

(Ill go easy on your this time. But it may be good if you lengthen your posts a little, but since it gave me an interesing scenario, I will let you go this time.) For a few moments the sandstorm was the only noise heard. After your little show the goth waited for the sandstorm to die down before he spoke. Lavarita was lax, it seemed odd that this Pokémon would be so calm after winning as it was probably looking for a win, The goth looked up at you and rubbed is head. "In all my time battling no trainer has every forfeited on me." he looked around at a small crowd who had gathered "Its seems... odd to win by, not actually beating a Pokémon to a pommel. But I can see why you did it, you did not want your Pokémon to get hurt." Well, this boy seems to have had a change of heart, seems to. You lost though and were left with no "something nice" that you had been offered for your victory. However, to your surprise the boy reached into his pocket and produced a great ball. He spoke as he held it out to you, "In this case, you have showed great effection to your Pokémon and so I will give you something anyway." Woah, a great ball, that was nice of him. This journey is turning out to be a great experience right off the bat. The boy turned to his Larvitar and returned the Pokémon. "I must go now, no sense haning around here, I must heal Larvitar" he explained, and with that he set off before you could even mutter a thanks leaving the great ball at your feet. From the small crowd that had gathered a few of them muttered to others. One, a girl with blonde hair held back with a pink ribbon came over to you. "That was very sweet of you trainer, that boy has been hanging around here for a while asking people for fights," she said twirling a strand of hair on her finger "My names Samantha, that boy had a battle with me earlier, I lost and he left without a word. He's weird that way, always leaves before you can say something." She took a pokeball from her waist and opened it, in a flash of red light a Chikorita was siting in front of you "Little Flora here lost that battle, but I took her out to the Route and gave her a little battle of her own, she's much more confident now and has gotten stronger too." The Chikorita was being a little buddle of fun skipping around and gleefully singing, or what you thought was singing. "I wanted to ask you, woud you like to accompany me out to the Route and train with me, I think you could do with a little training yourself and its better with two, that way if something happes the other is there to help, what do you say? Of course we don't have to go just yet if you'd prefer to heal your Magby first." So, what do you say? This girl is asking you to train with her, gain some levels and so on, maybe you can snag a new Pokémon? You never know, what say you? |

Zeke watched as the boy took out a Pokeball. He was a bit scared at first, thinking it was a gun or something. However, instead, it was a Great ball. Apparently, Zeke had gained the respect needed of the boy. Zeke took the Great Ball and put it into his Back pack. "Gee,...thanks" he said, flabbergasted by the trainer's actions. "But why are you giving this to me?" he asked but, the boy did not reply. He just turned around and began walking away. Zeke turned around and saw a crowd of people gathering around him. For a short while, he was in the people's eye, holding the Pokeball with his Magby in it tight. From out of the crowd however, there was only one person to come towards him and comfront him. It was a blonde girl by the name of Samantha. "My names Samantha" she said to Zeke, introducing herself. Zeke put away his Pokeball onto his ball pocket. "I'm Zeke Ugumashi. Nice to meet you." he said responding. Samatha then continued, "That boy had a battle with me earlier, I lost and he left without a word. He's weird that way, always leaves before you can say something." "You could say that again. That guy is rutheless" The girl then took out a Pokeball and released her Chikorita. It was a small and cute Chikorita, much like the girl herself. "I wanted to ask you, woud you like to accompany me out to the Route and train with me, I think you could do with a little training yourself and its better with two, that way if something happes the other is there to help, what do you say? Of course we don't have to go just yet if you'd prefer to heal your Magby first." the girl proposed. Zeke was a bit depressed but after seeing how cute the girl was, who's enthusiasm wouldn't increase? Zeke's eyes widened, his smile even wider. "Ofcourse, I'll train with you! But, which Route are we taking?" After the girl answered what Route they were taking, Zeke asked the girl, "Okay, can you come with me to the Pokémon Center? I'm new around here and I don't know too much about the Tohea region or the city." If the girl were to agree, Zeke would travel to the Pokémon Center with an easy pace. Once there, there was a short line to wait in until one reached Nurse Joy at the front desk. Zeke handed over his Pokeball with Magby and in a short amount of time, Nurse Joy returned his Magby at full health. "Come on out, Magby!" Zeke said as he opened his Pokeball and released his Fire Pokémon. Magby Magby! the Pokémon said, not depressed the slightest bit from a defeat in battle. Though, if Zeke's losing streak were to continue, he would get nowhere. Not just in Tohea, but nowhere in the entire world and would cease to only be a loser. Zeke didn't want that. He turned to Samantha and asked, "So, I'll follow you to this Route of yours, okay?" |

Samantha looked at you and smiled cocking her head to one side and making a slight throat noise that sounded like a cross between a giggle and a burp. "Well, I'd really ike to head out to Route 2, I hear there's a hedge maze there, that would be fun to explore," Samantha said releasing her Chikorita, Flora, who purred if Chikorita's can purr. You decided on taking Route 2 to the Hedge Maze it would be interesting place, filled with more Pokémon than you can poke a stick at, which is not advised I must tell you. You were one your way out of the Pokémon Centers doors when a trainer came in with a very disgruntled (a.k.a angry) look on his face. He marched up to the desk and gave his Pokémon to Nurse Joy, rather angrily to which he apologised and stormed into the waiting room. "I can't believe it!" he yelled to an unknown and scared trainer "I was right in the middle of fighting a wild Heracross and I had almost won when all of a sudden it becan to glow and then disappeared!" The trainer he was yelling at shrugged their shoulders. "I don't understand, Heracross can't learn teleport... can it?!" It was quite a commotion with nods all around, another trainer spoke up, "The same thing happened to me right in the middle of a fight with a Lotad it just... was gone and I dunno where it went. In fact the entire pond was empty, it was a small pond though, more of a puddle really." Once again nods and murmurs, but it was soon forgotten when the TV was turned on to the start of the Tohea Battle of the Month, which was between a Dragonite and a Seviper. Samantha had not heard a thing, she was busy with something else and had tuned out. She turned around to see the TV "Oh look a Seviper, I love those Pokémon, and it looks strong too," this came just before a Poison Tail slammed into the Dragonite knocking it out of the air. "So, you ready to head out or not? We may have to stop at the Pokémart to get a few supplies, we may be out there a long time." |
