"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

How nice. The girl watched you leave with a smile, maybe you weren't so bad after all. She stood as you walked away and hugged her Abra's pokeball close to her chest. Surprisingly enought the Pokémon center wasn't too far away, infact turning the corner you could see it in all its shiny glory. Shiny? Pokémon Centers don't shine do they? No, not in the middle of the day. Ah, there's the reason you relised as you drew closer. Atop the Pokémon center, was a large Skarmory, and next to it an aging woman with hair as silver as her Skarmory. She saw you approach the center but said nothing, her eyes were dark and watched you with a slight touch of anger. Inside the Pokémon center, the feeling rubbed off as you approached the Nurse at the desk. You handed her your Pokémon and she was about to leave when a hand passed her two more Pokémon, you turned to see the trainer you had fought earlier. She needed to heal her Pokémon too no doubt. So she left, ascendig the stairs to the second story, well more a meter high room connected to the main area where a coffee machine had been set up. She would wait a little bit for her Pokémon, there weren't that many people here, perhaps she needed a break from all the flirting she had been doing on her way here, and while you did not see it, it was the most probable. You began to follow her, thinking that a drink might be nice water, soda, lemonade and coffee was being offered. Besides the girl there was another trainer, he sat in a large arm chair with a glass of lemonade. A furret was curled up in his lap sleeping and a Totodile ate Pokémon Chow at his feet he was reading a guidebook. He saw you and swallowed a sip of lemonade "Hello, the machines in the Pokémon center suffered an overload recently so they are running a little slower that usual," he explained, maybe you would have to wait a while. Ah well, there were cold drinks, coffee and various snacks for you to indulge on while you waited. The trainer spoke again "Come and have sit down, lets have a little chat while we wait," he offered you the empty armchair next to him, his Furret stirred and yawned, but dropped its head again. Will you accept his offer? |

Xavier didn’t expect to reach the Pokécenter so soon, but there it was staring him straight in the face. If he didn’t know any better he would think it would have taken him longer seeing that he had chased that girl to god knows where. But regardless he was there now and that’s all that mattered. Upon the roof of the Pokécenter appeared to be an old woman and her Skarmorky. Xavier had to admit the sight was odd for it was not every day you saw a Skarmorky, much less on a roof. Then again he was new to Tohea, so this sighting could be considered normal here. But what really creeped him out was the way the owner of the Skarmorky looked at him as if he had done something wrong. Nevertheless, he temporarily forgot about it once he entered the Pokécenter. Oddly enough the interior of the Pokécenter was basically the same as usual. The only difference was the new(?) stairway. Out of the two times… make that three times he’s been here he had failed to look in that direction and thus completely overlooked it. Xavier couldn’t help but wonder what lied on the other end of those steps, but alas he would have to figure that out on another day for today he wanted to get out of here as soon as possible, for he had things to do and places to be (well at least places he wanted to be). Unfortunately the rest of the world didn’t see it his way. With his two Pokeballs in hand he walked over to the counter where the usual nurse awaited him. “Could you please heal them for me”, he asked placing his balls (of the Pokémon variety) on the desk where the nurse quickly picked them up. Just as he was about to turn around and leave he noticed another hand pass Pokeballs to the nurse. An event like this was quite common in a Pokémon Centers since trainers would constantly pass their balls on to the nurse all at once during “rush hour”. What was so peculiar about these particular hands was the fact that he had seen those just moments ago. Except the last time he saw them they were clutching a Pokeball. Though he couldn’t be too sure and if it was he had to be careful on how he approached the situation. He slowly turned to see, it actually was her. He could barely hide the embarrassment on his face. Even though the whole Abra fiasco was behind them he couldn’t help but feel awkward around her. Darn those teenage hormones of his! He watched in silence as she climbed the stairs and he had the sudden urge to follow. The only problem was this act made him look like a stalker. Upon reaching the top he was surprised to be greeted with food and beverages. Oh how he wished he had found out about this place much sooner. Within seconds of smelling the various snacks he realized that he had barely eaten all day. Trying his best not to look like a pig he grabbed himself a glass of Lemonade and a bag of chips, while stuffing a few various snack items in his bag. Once taking a quick survey around the room he noticed there was another trainer besides him and the “hot girl”. The trainer was obviously male and had a Totadile and a Furret in his company. Wait! A Furret. Wasn’t that an evolved form of a Pokémon. This trainer must have been even more skilled than he appeared. After informing Xavier about the machine malfunction the trainer invited him for a chat. This was of course a nice change of events since most people would have challenged him to a battle. So Xavier made himself comfy in the chair beside him while Luna managed to wander off towards the Totadile. Xavier was too absorbed into thought to notice. In most cases Xavier would have trouble starting a conversation but now he actually had something he had been wanting to get off of his chest every since he had sat down. Trying not to sound too desperate to find out Xavier asked the trainer, “Do you know anything about that Skarmorky and its trainer that was or may still be on the roof? I just had the odd feeling that they were eying me weirdly.” |

(Sorry for the wait. I haven't been able to access the RRT for a while. Also, Its not a stair way, it is a slighlty elevated area with maybe 4 or 5 steps that leads into the adjoining room where the snack table is set up.) The totodile watched your Zubat approach, at first it appeared wary but seeing the Pokémon was only young Totodile pushed the bowl of Pokémon food closer to Luna offering it to her. You now noticed a collar around Totodiles neck, and hanging from it a rought stone. The trainer gained your attention, "I don't know much about her or her Skarmory but the locals have been seeing her alot recently. I just got here from Johto." The furret shook itself in his lap, "I just got out of a rough battle, my Foretress was badly hurt, I'm waiting for her to heal." Well he was a Johto born alright, a Totodile, a Foretress and a Furret. Now which two evolved Pokémon it was strage that Totodile still had not evolved. The boy to a sip from his lemonade and spoke again, "I supose there isn't any harm in telling you how I got to be where I am now, makes good conversation." And with that he proceded to tell yu about himself. "My name is Daine, I am from Goldenrod City. A few years ao I found an injured Sentret near the Pokémon gym, it looked like it had been abandoned. I took it to the Pokémon center, and needless to say we became good friends. Foretress I caught as a Pineco on my way to Azalea, we bonded greatly." Well that certainly was nice to know, but what of the Totodile "I caught a Shelder in Cherrygrove while visiting my uncle. This caught the eye of another trainer and after much discussion I traded him for his Totodile. When I got Totodile I gave him a Everstone to keep him a Totodile." Well, a full story of his life with his Pokémon, it seemed like he was about to say more, but at that exact moment a Nurse came up the stairs. "Master Daine, your Foretress is all healed up," she said handing him a pokeball and turning back to you "Your Pokémon will be a while longer sir please help yourself to our snack table." And with a bubbly smile she trotted away to the back room. "Excellent, Foretress come on out" the boy said releasing his Foretress. The red light from the pokeball flew out to rest at your feet forming into a round shape before dispersing, as most pokeballs do when releasing a Pokémon. The Foretress hopped around with glee, it was all healthy and happy. The boy turned to you, "I'll think I'll wait a bit before setting off again, tell me about yourself... umm, whats did you say your name was?" |

Luna was at first frightened by the appearance of the strange new Pokémon( who could have blamed her, Totadile had a mouth full of razor sharp teeth that if used correctly could tear her to shreds), but her curiosity took over and she soon found herself within inches of the Totadile, and with one wrong move she could soon find herself being lunch. After closely inspecting it with the few senses she had at her disposal she no longer felt afraid of it, instead she found herself wondering what Totadile would taste like. Meanwhile Xavier was beginning to regret that he had started off the conversation by asking such a question, then again at least he wasn’t beating around the bush. Nevertheless the guy did in fact have some vital information that could be useful later on but not enough to truly answer his question. As it turns out this guy was from Johto. The fact that his team consisted of Furret, Totoadile, and a yet to be seen Fortreess pretty much gave it away, then again when he thought about it teams could bedeceiving. Seeing as he had come from Hoenn but his current teams were in fact all Kanto Pokémon according to his Pokedex. "I suppose there isn't any harm in telling you how I got to be where I am now, makes good conversation." Xavier couldn’t help but agree with him, besides it would be good to know how he had arrived here. So Xavier made himself comfortable in his chair and prepared to listen to this fellow’s tale. "My name is Daine, I am from Goldenrod City. A few years ao I found an injured Sentret near the Pokémon gym, it looked like it had been abandoned. I took it to the Pokémon center, and needless to say we became good friends. Foretress I caught as a Pineco on my way to Azalea, we bonded greatly." So his name was Daine. Not a name Xavier would have like to be stuck with but in Daine’s case it fit perfectly. How Daine had got his Sentret was not much different from how he obtained Sprocket. Though the story about his Totodile was foreign to him, he heard about trading Pokémon but Xavier could not bring himself to trade any of his current ones. He cherished them way to much, but this was coming from the guy who just bet his Growlithe (one action he could never forgive himself for.) Another thing Xavier found strange was that Daine didn’t wish to evolve his Totoadile but the rest of his team was already fully evolved. Wasn’t it the point of training to evolve one’s Pokémon? Then when he thought about it, it didn’t seem so crazy after all. It would be nice to be able to keep his Pokémon the way were, at least for now. Before Xavier could give his opinion on the matter the nurse suddenly appeared. She handed Daine a Pokeball but left him empty handed. Apparently it would be a little while before Xavier could get his own Pokémon back. Xavier expected Daine to leave now that he had received his Pokémon but instead Daine stayed. He had also let out his Foretress he talked so much about. It was easy to tell that his Foretress was happy. "I'll think I'll wait a bit before setting off again, tell me about yourself... umm, whats did you say your name was?" “Xavier”, was his reply. Now that he had made up for forgetting to tell his name all that was left was to tell him about his current situation. Though not as exciting as Daine’s he supposed it did make “ good conversation”. “Well, me and Tempest, my Horsea that I’ve had ever since I can remember, recently arrived from the Hoenn region. Within minutes of our arrival we found an injured Growlithe , that I would later name Sprocket, that had been nearly killed by two Wingull. We rushed it to this very center and healed it up. We became pals pretty much the same way as you and your Furret did. Then Lun-“. He stopped midsentence finally realizing that she was no longer on his shoulder but instead munching on some of the Totoadile’s food. “Luna”, he said in the sweetest voice he could muster. Luna, after hearing her name, spit out what little food she had managed to fit in her mouth (she didn’t like it anyway) and quickly made her way back to Xavier who placed her securely back on his shoulder this time making sure to keep a closer eye on her. “Where was I…. O yeah! Luna here I had hatched from an egg I found outside of this Pokémon Center. She seems to always find ways to get into mischief. Tempest and Sprocket had just got out of a battle recently and that’s why I’m here now.” Edited by Treecko99, Jan 25 2009, 05:33 PM.

Daine nodded, listening intently and seeming to be very happy with whatever it was you had to say. Just as you finished, Nurse Joy came back with your own Pokémon fully healed and told you to have a good day. With a smile of his own, Daine turned to leave when a huge shadow seemed to go across the window. But as you looked, you saw that it wasn't just a shadow, but complete darkness, as if night had fallen early. People were gasping and muttering, some looked out of the window and the screaming started, shouts of an apocalypse and the like. Quickly, Daine got to the window and gasped and turned to you, his complexion now pale as if he had seen a ghost. He began to explain to you what he had seen, people running around as if they had their heads chopped off. But more importantly, about the huge figures in the sky battling, something that could prove to be very bad for Tohea. Portals were being opened all around as well, he said, and people were falling into them and who knew where it was they had gone to? Grabbing your arm, he pulled you with him outside of the center for you to see, and you saw that everything he had said was completely true. An Alakazam appeared and waved an arm, opening up a portal behind you, though you weren't afraid at all. He was somehow keeping you calm as he looked at you, and he nodded, as if to tell you that everything was going to be okay. Then the portal sucked you and Daine up, and it was only a few seconds later before you found yourselves on solid ground again. But you didn't know where you were for sure, and there were a lot of people around, and more portals were opening up and spitting yet more people out. I guess this is where they were all coming to. You know what this means, your character has just been moved to Alternia. |
