The Healer gave a small smile to you as you decide to go along with the advice given and capture the little creature. It wasn't so much a capture as it was just going through a ceremonial process that was virtually not needed. But either way, if you wanted to officially have the Growlithe, then you'd have to toss a pokeball at it. Which is good, because that's what you decided to do. The sphere moved through the air and caught the creature on the little tuft of flesh that was on his chest, turning into the reddish energy as it was absorbed into the depths of the pokeball. It landed on the ground, and there was almost no wait at all as the 'ding' noise went off a second later, as if the little guy was helping the locking mechanism from the inside. Man, you sure were lucky to have found such a loyal Pokémon already. Perhaps saving him from his injuries had been a better idea than you'd thought, eh? But with your battle completed, and with a new friend for Tempest, the day was now yours to enjoy. You had a while yet before it showed any signs of getting dark, and with all that was available to you, as a trainer, there was virtually nothing that was out of your jurisdiction. The Healer had begun to go back to his own home, and the small crowd that had gathered to watch the battle against the trouble-making Wingulls began to disperse. With all that was open, where did you feel like going? Oh, but remember that your Pokémon are still a little damaged from that fight. Maybe a quick trip to the Pokécenter wouldn't be a bad idea before you began any more dangerous excursions? |

Xavier kneeled to pick up the pokeball containing his new companion. He brought it within inches of his face in order to get a better look and somewhat a better understanding of the Pokémon that lie within. After the trouble it took winning his first battle, there could have been no better prize than what lie in his palm. He breathed on it and wiped it on his shirt, much like he did with his glasses when they needed cleaning, and fastened it on his belt. This was his way of permanently engraving his first victory into his head. Xavier then picked up the rest of his belongings and steadily ambled to the shore. As he walked he began to think of what he would do next. He could always go and explore the numerous routes or on the other hand he could get better acquainted with the city and possibly find something else interesting to do. Whatever he decided to do his main priority was to take his Pokémon to the Pokécenter. That fact became clearer the closer he got to city. The only problem was he had no idea where it was. This was now the second time he found himself lost in this city. The first his Horsea was able to point it out to him despite its small stature. Xavier was never good with directions; some would say that he wouldn’t be able to find his way out of a paper bag. Unfortunately that was actually precisely accurate. At times such as this he would depend on Tempest to help him but now he couldn’t bring himself to ask Tempest nor Growlithe, since it would have been rude to disturb them while they rested inside their individual Pokeballs. When he reached the sidewalk he stopped for a minute and began to examine his surrounding hoping to catch a glimpse of the fabled red building. The looming buildings and the unpleasant loud noises that encircled him were no help to him, as they only distracted him from his quest. After much looking the red roof of the Pokécenter finally caught his eye. “Eureka”, he screamed pointing to his discovery. Lucky for him the noise of the city covered it up so that it was only an indistinguishable mummer. He took off at full speed making sure to remember the shops and marketplaces that surrounded it so he could find next time if needed. By the time he reached the doors of the Pokécenter he was out of breath. He waited till he fully caught his breathe before entering and handing over his Pokeballs to nurse. |

You cought your breath and walked inside the Pokémon Center. Suprisingly not a single person was in there. Not even a Nurse Joy. Now where on Earth did everyone go? You walked outside and saw a sign posted on the door. Out to lunch. Will be back by 1 P.M.Well doesn't that just suck. You came to heal your Pokémon and no one was here. The only good thing was that you only had an hour until they would be back. Now you could either wait there or go around and explore. Then you noticed something on the ground. It was the shape of an oval and had mulitcolered dots on. What could it be? It was a Pokémon Egg!!! You found an :Egg !!! Now you really need to have the nurses come back. You have a random egg and you don't know what to do with it. I guess you could keep it but what would the owners do if there was even owners. Edited by Logar99, Nov 7 2008, 02:51 PM.

Xavier walked into the Pokécenter surprised to see the place empty. Usually, from what he could remember, places such as this were usually jam-packed with people and Pokémon alike. Seeing that nobody would be back anytime soon Xavier went back outside. Upon exiting the building he noticed a sign on the door that he must have missed the first time he came in. “Out to lunch”, he began to read aloud, “Be back in.. ONE HOUR!” Well now wasn’t this an unfortunate turn of events , he thought to himself. He now found himself with one hour to spare. He could go check out the mart he saw on the way in. Yeah, that could work. That way by the time he came back the nurses should be back. Before he could even take a single step something caught his eye. It couldn’t be, he thought, but after picking it up and examine it a little closer it became clear that it was. He had found himself an egg. Now apparently he had no choice in the matter, he had to stay at the Pokkeceter till it opened in order to find out what to do with this egg. Reluctantly Xavier went back inside the Pokécenter and took a seat in one of the many chairs. He held the egg closer to him in order to keep it warm. Since he knew nothing about eggs, other than they taste good with bacon, this was the best he could do. He picked up a magazine and started flipping through the pages, but nothing in it came close to being entertaining. So instead he passed the time by watching the clock.Eventually after 6 minutes of extreme boredom he dozed off. Edited by Treecko99, Nov 8 2008, 02:58 PM.

Watching the clock to pass the time wasn't that hot of an idea, as you were just as mentally exhausted from the battle as your Pokémon were. It had been your first real battle, and the rush and exhilaration you'd gotten from it had begun to wear off by the time you'd taken your seat, and then all the mental stress you'd undergone had taken over, and before you knew it, you'd fallen asleep. The egg sat comfortably on your lap, apparently not at all threatened by the thoughts of omelettes that danced through your mind. At some point, you felt a hand on your shoulder, shaking you softly, while murmuring something that you didn't quite understand. Muttering to yourself, you tried to block out the noise, when the part of your brain that still knew what was going on tried to wake the rest of you up. With a grunt, you woke up, and were face-to-face with a Chansey, which actually looked quite frightening at this close. You managed, however, not to let out a girlish scream of fright, and the creature nodded to you before going in the back, helping the Nurse Joys get everything set back up. As the bulk of the Chansey retreated, you saw one of the Nurse Joys behind the counter closest to you, giving you a friendly smile. "Sorry. We've been a little short-staffed with everything that's been going on. We didn't have anyone to watch things while we ate..." Her eyes then go to the egg that's in your hands. "That's an interesting-looking egg. What sort of Pokémon's in it?" she asked. Apparently, even though the thing had been sitting outside of their Pokécenter, she didn't know what it was, either. So what to do with your prepackaged omelette? |

Xavier did not know how long he slept, but when he awoke he found himself within inches of what appeared to be an evil pink troll, but upon closer inspection it was only a Chansey. But the realization still didn’t prevent him from almost soiling himself. He stretched his arms over his head and let out a yawn before fully opening his eyes. I took him a second or two to finally figure out what was going on. Apparently while he was off in dream land the shop had opened up. Now he could finally heal his Pokémon and find out what to do with this egg of his. Xavier picked up his egg and slowly got to his feet. With one hand he wiped his eyes, while he carefully held onto the egg with the other. Once fully awake he stumbled to the front desk. He grabbed Tempest and Sprocket’s pokeball and laid them on the counter for the nurse to get. When questioned about his egg he replied, “I just found this outside about an hour ago and I was hopng you could tell me what I should do with it.” Edited by Treecko99, Nov 9 2008, 04:19 PM.

(#4, eh? You didn't get the worst thing on the list, but it's not really the best thing either) Nurse Joy carefully took the egg out of your hands and inspected it for a moment, running her hands over its exterior. "It feels sort of like a combination between...smooth...and another sensation I can't describe. But what you should do with it is completely up to you. If you're fully intent on keeping the egg and have the time to care for it, feel free to do so. If not, the Pokémon Center can take care of your egg until it hatches or pass it off to another able trainer." Hm, looks like you have quite a choice here to make with this egg. Furthermore, what was inside of it? Just as she was about to invite you inside, a little kid holding a Spheal ran up to Nurse Joy excitedly. "NurseJoyNurseJoymydaddygotmeaSphealyesacutelittleSphealaren'tyouproudofme?" All of that in one breath, naturally. As Nurse Joy was about to congratulate him (an animesweatdrop was on her head, you noticed), for some reason or another Tempest had decided to release himself and check out the commotion. His releasing action startled the young Spheal, who immediately fired a Blizzard in his direction. Obviously a TM move or two had been applied to the other Pokémon. Regardless, poor Tempest hadn't been expecting it and, quite before he knew it, he was encased in a block of ice. The frightened little boy began apologizing more and more, recalling the still-frightened Spheal as he did so. "I'm sorry mister!" he kept saying, tears rolling down his cheeks. Nurse Joy had disappeared and then reappeared with a heating pad and an ice chisel, and began chipping and melting the ice off of poor Tempest. This could take quite a while, as your young Horsea is encased in at least a foot thick of ice.... (Your #4 was "Suck", which essentially means that one of your Pokémon becomes burned or frozen. Luckily for you you're near a Pokémon Center) (Whenever this egg is ready to hatch, someone should consult me as I have plans for the egg alone) |

Xavier considers each of the options Nurse Joy proposed. He obviously wanted the egg so giving it away was certainly not an option. But leaving it the care of the nurses until it hatched didn’t sound like a bad idea, though in doing so he would miss out on the once and a life time experience of watching the egg hatch and greeting the newborn Pokémon into the world. With that Xavier mind was made up, he would keep the egg and keep it safe. Just as he was about to announce his decision to the nurse a young kid entered the building accompanied by a Spheal and in what Xavier was 100% sure was complete gibberish announced that his dad had bought him the Spheal. What could happen next could only be described as karma catching up with him. ~ For some reason or another Tempest had decided to release itself from its ball, not such a hard task when you put your mind to it. Instead of the welcoming Tempest expected, he found himself with in seconds of his escape frozen in a block of ice. ~ Two things ran through Xavier’s mind at that precise moment. The first was, ‘What in Gods name just happen’ and the other went along the lines of, ‘Where did that Spheal learn Blizzard’. It took a lot of self control to keep Xavier from pulverizing the youngsters were he stood. Once seeing the effort of the nurse to free his Horsea he realized that the procedure would be a long one, unless he found a way to expedite process. Then he got an idea. Seeing as he had just captured a Growlithe, a fire type. It could easily melt the ice thus freeing Tempest. With out a seconds delay Xavier summoned the canine who seemed to be aware of the whole situation. “Hey, do you think you can help me out here,” Xavier asked. The Growlithe without hesitation or instruction began to work on freeing Tempest by firing a light ember at the block of ice that incased Tempest. Edited by Treecko99, Nov 13 2008, 05:57 PM.

Sprocket was a quick one, and he proved that by letting loose with a small jet of flame at the ice surrounding your Horsea. Tempest wore an expression of shock and anger, and it didn't look like it was very happy to be frozen. Then again, I don't think anything would like to be frozen, so perhaps your Horsea had the right idea, after all. But even with Growlithe's help, this was taking quite awhile, and you wondered just how long you were going to have wait for this. A moment later, a goofy looking man entered, wearing a rock and roll t-shirt and cut-off shorts, not to mention socks and sandals. "Daddy!" the boy called as the man entered, running over to him. As tears poured down his cheeks, he began to use the gibberish to explain what had happened and pointed at you and Tempest several times. The guy glanced over at you, and sauntered over, moving at a pace between leisurely and just annoying. "So my kid's Spheal wanted to test out that Blizzard TM?" he asked, and from the way he talked, he seemed to be a bit less dorky. In fact, as you looked at his eyes, you could see a bit of experience behind them. This guy was definitely more than what met the eye. "Here. Call back your Growlithe. Excuse me, Joy," he said calmly, reaching onto his own belt, which your keen eye noted was full of Ultra balls. "Come on out, Ashe." You weren't quite sure how you knew there was an 'e' on the end of the Pokémon's name, but...you did. As the red light faded, the Pokémon center seemed to have shrunk as the girth of a Typhlosion took over part of it. "Melt that ice for me. But don't hurt anything else." The large fire-type nodded, and unleashed a steady stream of flames at the glacier, with a level of control that was very quite impressive. As the Typhlosion worked, he man looked over at you, raising an eyebrow. "What's your name, kid?" he asked, casually. Lv. 52

“At a boy Sproket”, Xavier praised as he watched the canine desperately try to free Tempest. Even though the pup was firing flames with all his might Tempest still didn’t look any closer to being free of his icy prison. Xavier could tell that this was going to be a long day, and to think that this all could have been avoided if that KID would’ve came just five minutes later. The moment of Sprockets work was done in silence, long, boring, unadulterated silence. And as if on cue the kids pop walks in wearing something apparently off the discount rack. Even Sprocket turned when the man entered. With a dorky dad such as this it is no wonder that the kid wasn’t able to properly control his Spheal. Though this was just an assumption based just his appearance alone. Xavier got his first real glimpse of this guys true skill when he released what appeared to be a cross between a dog and weasel and a fire type to boot. Not knowing the name of the mystery Pokémon he immediately referred to the Pokedex function his Poketech. “Typhlosion the Volcano Pokémon”, the male voice droned as if it was bored to tears, “If Typhlosion rage peaks it will so hot that anything it touches will spontaneous combust. In other words this is apparently one Pokémon you wouldn’t want to get mad. When the heat surrounding Typhlosion causes the air to shimmer this Pokémon is prepared for battle. This Typhlosion is Lv52” Sprocket’s ears perked once hearing the last sentence. So not only was this thing big but strong two. Sprocket turned its head to face its trainer hoping with all its might that Xavier didn’t expect him to fight such a strong and vicious foe. Sensing Sprocket’s confusion Xavier motioned for him to come. Sprocket did so and sat by Xavier leg, staring up at his trainer for further guidance. “Sprocket, take a good look at how this Typhlosion controls its flames,” Xavier said pointing at Ashe, ”Maybe you’ll learn something.” “Xavier, yours?” Xavier replied to the man’s sudden question. Under the steady stream of flames, it was easy to note that with Ashe's help, this wasn't going to take very long at all. The level of control that the Typhlosion had led one to believe that it was quite powerful, as was indicated by your Poketech. But even though its level was fairly high, even beyond that it seemed like it had more skill than a normal one of its level would. This man here was obviously an above-average trainer, even if he didn't look it. Besides, he'd given his son's Spheal a Blizzard TM, and those don't grown on trees. "Xavier, eh?" he asked, extending a hand towards you, clad in a black, cloth, fingerless glove. "Nice to meet ya. The name's Alex. Me and Jake here are from Johto," he said simply, patting his son on the shoulder, who beamed widely at you, seemingly having forgotten about the whole blizzarding incident, though Ashe was still hard at work. As you made small talk, your eyes caught onto the man's shirt, which had sixteen badges on it, cutely designed in the shape of a pokeball. Oh yeah, this guy was skilled. "Just wanting to see what everyone's in a tizzy about this Tohea place," he said with a small shrug. "What about you? Any reason you're over here?" he asked, and though his eyes flickered over you and your Growlithe as he judged your skill, his voice had a seemingly lackluster tone to it. Obviously, he really wasn't one on holding good relationships with people and was probably one of those who would sleep the day away, if he could. As the two of you talked, Ashe was finishing up the melting process of Tempest, and it seemed like he'd be free any minute now. Despite the fact that the Spheal was a low level, (or was it?), it had done quite a number with that Blizzard attack. "You training up that Growlithe, or are you just starting out?" he questioned further, and you saw a strange light in his eye, as if he was looking for someone to battle that had some skill. |

“Nice to meet you too, Alex”, Xavier responded, firmly shaking Alex’s hand while still keeping a grip on his egg. Once seeing Alex’s badges, all sixteen of them, Xavier realized that he had been wrong about the man. Not only did he have a high level Pokémon, but he also took control of the situation and was helping to free Tempest. This was the complete opposite reaction Xavier would have originally expected from a grown man dressed in clothes such as his. As it turns out this fellow was also new to the land of Tohea. His reasons for coming were simple, unlike his. Xavier on the other hand just wanted to get away from it all. Mostly his drunken father and the rat hole of a house that he use to call home, though Xavier was not willing to trust this total stranger with this information so when asked he did the only logical thing. He lied. “O you know the usual,” Xavier began solomly, “Wanted to go on and adventure and here am I”. Xavier did not know wheter or not he would believe him, but when he thought about it did it really matter? Sprocket apparently didn’t believe a word of it, but he decided not to show it. Xavier broke eye contact with Alex for a moment to take a look at Ashe progress. Xavier determined that it wouldn’t be much longer now. Sproket also had the same idea. He first checked to see if he trainer was looking and then proceeded to walk over to frozen Tempest. He examined Ashe work and couldn’t help but feel a little jealous. Even at full power he couldn’t hope to ever shoot flames as powerful as this Pokémon. He stood even closer to the massive Typhlosion hoping to also make small talk. “Well I just recently got this Growlithe”, Xavier replied to Alex’s question,” but I’ve had that Horsea over there for a couple years now. So you could probably call be a novice.” Edited by Treecko99, Nov 15 2008, 06:31 PM.

You shuck Alex's hand and looked over to see how Tempest's thawing was going and he was almost done. You told Alex why you were in Tohea. Then you looked down at Sproket who looked jelious of the powerful fire-type. Alex looked down and saw the Growlithe too and then thought of a brillient idea. "How about I have a battle with your Growlithe. I'll even use my weakest Pokémon." Alex offered you. Well that's different. Not everyday do you get involoved in a fire match. What an interesting turn of events! He was nice and healed you Pokémon and all he wants in return is a simple battle. So what do you say? Edited by Logar99, Nov 16 2008, 03:24 PM.

A battle,Xavier thought. He was intrigued that Alex would even want to battle him. He was obviously stronger and more skilled. Even though Alex assured him that he would use his weakest Pokémon, Xavier still had his doubts. But the more he thought about it, the more it seemed like a decent idea. What would be the worst that could happen, they were right next to a Pokécenter if Growlithe did manage to get hurt. Sprocket was eager for another battle. He could barely control himself from letting out a yelp of excitement. The little canine was just dying for a chance to prove itself to be just as strong as Ashe. It anxiously sat by its trainer side awaiting his answer. When Xavier still didn’t answer Sprocket nudged his leg to get his attention. “If that’s what you want, then so be it.” Xavier said to the pup. Sprocket grinned satistfied that he convinced his trainer to go through with it. Xavier, now turning his attention to Alex, replied,”ApparentlyI’ll be glad too”, while giving Sprocket an menacing glance. This wouldn’t be so bad, Xavier reassured himself, After all by the time it is over Tempest should be defrosted. With his egg in his arms and Sprocket by his side, Xavier walked outside the Pokécenter in order to find a suitable place for the battle, seeing as having the battle within the Pokécenter would be very unorthodox. Go outside, find a suitable battle site, and battle. Seemed simple enough you thought, as you strode out into the streets. What is this? A comotion, it seems to be coming from on source, a large man with deep musculed features. He was holding a struggling woman in his hands above the ground, but he was not hurting her, despite his physical appearance he was quite calm. The woman stopped struggling, it was then that you noticed the knife in her hand, she swore at the top of her lungs, and through them you could hear the words dirty, rotten, scum, best friend, how could you, divorce and I will kill you. This was obviously a scene that had nothing to do with you, but the strength and calm state of the man was very enticing and like a car crash, the state of the woman was just too horrible to turn away from. An officer came along to arrest her, taking the knife as evidence. There was blood on the knife, if only a small trickle. You then saw the man behind the tough guy, his glasses cracked and he was being supported by two guys, his arm was bleeding and he looked like the woman had give him a beating. He was the husband you assumed, the tough man was just a good semaitan. Distracted by all of the action going on, you were an aware of what was unfolding behind you, and by the time you noticed it was too late. A pickpocket took off with some of your money, not much, but a generous sum. However, his sniveling frame only managed a few meters before he was knocked down by the strang man you had seen before. He squirmed but the grip was to much and he eventually gave up. The man picked the money up, "Wow, today has been hectic, why couldn't I have chosen a nicer place for a vacation" he said, taking the man by the scruff of the neck and thrusting him into the police paddy wagon. The man then turned and came over to you "Here you go son, I believe this is yours," he said placing the money in your hands which came to $150, when you checked it was what was missing. "Maybe you can help me, my name is Constable Green, I'm from Johto" he said in a gruff voice "I'm looking for a man called Alex and his son Jake." You turned to see that Jake and Alex were no where in sight but Ashe was still there so they couldn't be far away. Who was Constable Green and what did he want with Alex? Only time will tell. |
