The gentle breeze blew by, smelling of salt and fish. Cries and squawks echoed around dock as Wingulls and other seabirds flew about. One Wingull had managed to snap an unimportant fish out of the water and was being chased by other Wingulls for his catch. Trainers disembarked the boat and began splitting off along the pier, hoping to also succeed in this fine city. Around you, vendors boasted about their wares and hoped the new trainers would be suckered in to buy them. One man was incredibly proud of "the finest Miltank milk" on this planet while another claimed he had the rarest items ever seen. A couple of trainers were already being duped into getting "mystery bags" but they were young kids. Their mother managed to drag them away at the last second, scolding them for buying his verbal crap. But now, as you noticed, a large crowd was gathering around on the beach. People were squealing with surprise at the thing in the middle. Lifeguards were already running in and trying to break through the swarm of people. Some were talking on radios and ATVs were starting to pull up, "Pokémon Rescue" written on their sides and tails. Well, you could go see what was up or continue or your merry way past the vendors. They might harass you but that shouldn't be a problem, right? Unless you call that Pokémon over there a vendor, but he's not doing anything. Merely for the pleasure of you kicking it's doggone ass. The slight gentle breeze felt good against my skin. The sounds of the beach were music to my ears. I grabbed a pokeball from my belt and sent out my loyal companion, Tempest. He was bewilder by his new surroundings and wished to be held. I shook my head for I had already carried him all this way and I was not about to do it again. He silently protested but quickly got over it when he realized how great the city really was. He began to hop around enjoying the sights, while I looked awe struck at the new place we found ourselves in. The beach would be a perfect place to sit and relax and take a load off, but I decided to go explore more of this region and then maybe go there later on, until something caught my eye. A large group of people gathered around something or someone. There was only one way to figure out which. “Let’s go check out what happening over there”. I said to Tempest, who was too busy enjoying his self to notice my call. I let out a small sigh and picked him up. Tempest was shocked at first but then settled into my arms. “Don’t enjoy yourself too much, we’re not going to stay here for long”, I scolded, and against my better nature I headed off towards the crowd. on the beach. Because, it was either that way or risk getting scammed. |

As you reached the beach you notice the Growlithe lying on the ground on its side. A man stood over it, a stethoscope against its chest. A Wingull cawed in laughter, and judging by the condition of the fire puppy it was likely a good assumption that the two had just fought, and the Growlithe had obviously not fared well over the flying water type. The man looks around and points at the Wingull. “You stupid beast, this Pokémon wasn’t harming anyone, he’s a stray that lives at the beach house. Why had you attacked him?” The man says and gets up, a Pokeball in hand. “You little brat now your in for it.” The man and the Wingull moved a ways down the beach to decide exactly who was going to be getting what. As the healer fought the Wingull the people quickly started moving down the beach to watch the fight. A man looked at you, then at the battle, “Heya kid, would you take this Growlithe to the Pokémon center and get it fixed up?” He asked and took off to watch the fight. Well, now you had a choice. This was stated to be a wild Pokémon, and was lying there, unconscious and definitely hurt. What was your next move? |

The sight of the injured Pokémon was a big surprise to me; I expected a battle or some sort, so it was only natural for me to want to watch the fight. But, instead I got stuck having to take care of a Growlithe. Now don’t get me wrong I would always help a Pokémon in need, but geez nothing beats a good battle. Tempest, on the other hand was interested in neither. He wanted more than anything to get out of here even if it meant letting the pup die. So it was only natural when I choose to carry the Growlithe to the Pokécenter for him to get mad. “Sorry ‘bout this buddy”, I said looking sternly at Tempest, “but you’re going to have to ‘walk’ the way there.” I placed him gently down in the moist sand of the beach. He protested by blasting my sneakers with ink, but they were already dirty so it failed to bother me much. I struggled to pick up the Growlithe who was at least 2x (if not more) heavier than Tempest. But nonetheless it was a Pokémon in need and the aching in my arms would have to wait. At this point Tempest was showing quite a bit of jealousy. He was constantly trying to attack Growlithe while it was in my arms. The only way to quiet him down was by me threating to place him back into the Pokeball until he learned to stop acting immature. After that he went silent and I had no more problems out of him. It wasn’t until I got off the beach that I realized I didn’t have the slightest clue were the Pokécenter was and the pathetic excuse of a map on the Poketech didn’t help either. It was ironically Tempest, who had a sudden change of heart, pointed me in the right direction. I felt like slapping myself for not noticing the bright red building with a giant poke ball on top that stood out from the rest of buildings. With Tempest by my side and a 41 pound dog in my arms, I headed off toward the Pokémon Center. |

When you enter the Pokémon Center you saw that it was really quiet in the building. It seems that either everyone is out on their own looking at the stores and sightseeing the town or they went to watch the battle that was probably already happening outside between the man and the Wingull. You saw a couple of Chanseys wondering about in the Pokémon Center with a red headed Nurse telling them what they should do. When she heard the doors open and close after you she turned around and started to say, "May I h-. Oh no that poor Growlithe. Go ahead and hand him to me dear and I'll take care of him. You can wait over there." She had pointed at some comfortable looking seats before she got some Chanseys get a stretcher and gently place the Growlithe on it. She then rush into the emergency room. The needle light above the door blink red. Well you've done what you where asked. You had brought the injured Growlithe to the Pokémon Center. So are you going to wait or leave? |

Ah the Pokécenter, though I have never been to one before it seemed to be a nice place. Quiet and peaceful just the way I liked it. Before I could look around the Pokécenter nurse what’s-her-name swiftly took the Growlithe I brought in. Tempest, who was hopping alongside me, was relieved that the Growlithe was gone. He was usually the jealous type when it came to me hanging out with other Pokémon. So I learned to accept that about him. Now that the Growlithe was finally off my hands I could leave and probably catch the end of the battle, but I still felt like I responsibility towards the little guy. So I took a seat and waited. Tempest managed to hop his way into my lap. He appeared to be tired so I cradled him in my arms. Holding him again was a relief; his little body was actually much colder and lighter compared to the Growlithe. “So you ready to leave”, I asked him only to find out that I was talking to myself since Tempest had decided to take a nap in my arms “So I guess that’s a no”, I muttered under my breath. Holding Tempest closer to my chest I began to search for something to do to pass the time. At first I decided to watch the Chanseys perform their various tasks, but that grew boring almost instantly. Not seeing anything interest to read I began to count the tiles on the floor like I did so many times at home when I was bored and next thing I knew I was sleep. |

After an eternity of waiting (it was really forty minutes), the light over the ER doors blinked off. Your heartbeat started increasing rather rapidly; did something terrible happen to the Growlithe? It had appeared to be in bad shape, after all. Could you forgive yourself if it had died? The circumstances weren't really your fault, but still.... A smiling Chansey waddled out of the ER, wheeling a sleeping Growlithe on a stretcher towards you. It was definitely a drugged sleep, and some bandages and stitches were evident among the fire type's fur. The smile indicated to you that the Growlithe would be okay, so perhaps you could now go and watch the end of that battle? As if on cue, the Growlithe carefully opened its eyes. With a groggy whine, he looked up at you with pitiful eyes and gently licked your chin. Through some way or another, he knew that you had brought him to the Center. With a signal from Chansey, he carefully crawled into your arms while she wheeled the stretcher to help out another Pokémon. With the healed Growlithe in your arms, you could now return him to the man who was battling the offensive Wingull....unless the man had fallen against the bird himself. That would leave a battle open for you...ah, the possibilities were endless. So many different paths and directions in your life could be taken from simple, single events. But for now, make the choice that seems right. Then again, you didn't really have a huge choice here unless you came up with one of your own. |

The sight of the Growlithe, now fully healed, on the stretcher filled me with joy. And according to the expression on the now awaken Horsea; he was happy too, though as soon as he caught me gazing at him he quickly turned the other way. This moment made this whole trip worth it, so I couldn’t help but let a single tear travel down my face before traveling down to my chin and then finally falling off onto my shirt just to disappear. I welcomed the Growlithe into my arms and, for once, so did Tempest, by actually nudging towards the pup. With both Tempest and the Growlithe in my arms I got up from my seat, gave a nod of thanks to the Chansey, and left the Pokécenter. Holding them both in my arms was no longer any problem for me. They both seemed to belong there. “Now how about catching the end of the battle guys”, I asked them, both seemed to be eager as I was. So with their approval I headed back to the beach that got me into this bloody situation |

Need I say that your walk back to the beach was eventful? If so, I'd be lying. Nothing of interest caught your attention as you trotted back to the scene where the Growlithe had so ludicrously been attacked. Indeed, most of the time you were weaving through the regular crowded streets and so forth. Nothing new in that book. Returning to the beach, you saw the man that had earlier been trying to protect the Growlithe was now having trouble holding his own. Two more Wingull had joined their assaulted comrade. Even though the Wingull that had started all of this had fainted, so had the man's Pokémon, a Magby. Not the best choice against three flying/water types. Lv. 6 x2Seeing you approach with the Growlithe, one gave a warning squawk while the other kept pecking at the man. He was trying to protect his Magby from worse damage but was failing rather horridly. Catching sight of you, he yelled, "Let me be and save yourself! Nothing can stop them now!" Oh boy, was he wrong. If you were up to the challenge, why not allow Tempest to do some work. With a snarl, the Growlithe also jumped out of your arms and, despite its injuries, also prepared for battle. He shouldn't be battling, but you didn't really have a choice in the matter, so it seems. Perhaps he'd let you command him, though.... Anyway, time to bushwhack these birds. |

((Occ: I have no clue what level or gender the Growlithe is, since the one stated at the begging of my Journey was a completely a different one.)) Well this was a great turns of events, instead of watching one I was instead about to be in one. With Tempest I would have a better chance with the Wingulls, not much but he would fare better than the man’s Magby. And just maybe with Growlithe’s help we could pull this off. When Growlithe jumped out of my arms I knew there was no turning back. “Don’t worry ‘bout us” I said as confidently as I could to the man, which wasn’t very confident due to this being the first battle with Tempest and the Growlithe. “HEY,” I said to the two featherbrains flailing my arms in the air attempting to get their attention and at that the same time making myself look like an idiot, “Leave the man and his Magby alone you two birdbrains, and fight me and my Pokémon.” Not knowing the Growlithe’s attack I decided to check the Poketech for a moment. After seeing its attacks I pushed by glasses up to my face began formulating a plan. Hoping that the Growlithe would obey my commands I ordered my attacks. “Okay guys,” I said to them both, “Here’s the plan. Tempest you use Smokescreen around the field and then you, Growlithe, use Roar to stun them and while they are still stunned Tempest use Bubble on where you last saw one and Growlithe do the best you can to aim ember on the other”. With that I sat and watched until I remembered something that I carelessly disregarded. “Tempest,” I said getting his attention, “Try to protect the Growlithe from harm, I doubt that it can take another beating.” Edited by Treecko99, Jul 18 2008, 02:35 AM.

Don't worry.. I don't know either.. so I'll just make it the same as the one in the start. Two on two seemed to even things out, however both Wingull were a level higher than both of the Pokémon you'd command. No matter, I have faith that you could easily take these guys on. Tempest started things off as you commanded, making a blinding smokescreen that seemed to camouflage everything. The Wingulls were taken aback by the move, and couldn't really think of what to do. They began to flap their wings to create a gust attack, however it was cut short by Growlithe letting out a loud roar. Tempest then jumped into the air a little, and used a bubble attack that penetrated the smokescreen managed to hit the wing of one of the bird Pokémon. Success! Now what about Growlithe? It seemed rather confused as to what to do next. It appears Growlithe hadn't learned ember yet. The un-hit wingull took this chance to move in for an attack, it dive-bombed towards where it believed the Growlithe to be. Fortunately for you, its aim was off and the bird crashed into the ground. Quick! Think of something for Growlithe to do! Lv 5 35/35 96% Lv 5 35/35 98%vs Lv 6 36/37 97% Lv 6 35/37 99%

Things were turning out great. Tempest managed to hit one of the birds and even though I messed up when ordering Growlithe we still managed to stay ahead in this battle. It seems like the Smokescreen was the main thing protecting his Tempest and Growlithe from any major harm, though the Wingulls were not doing so well doing so well in it. Assuming that Growlithe knew ember was a major setback, but on the bright side Growlithe and Tempest managed not to get themselves hurt this round. Now that one of those pesky birds was out of the skies and onto our level open up the perfect opportunity for my Pokémon and I was not about to lose it. I gently pushed my gasses closer to my face as I formulated a plan for this round. Knowing that the Wingull would eventually get up again I didn’t think long and Just to make sure I didn’t mistake Growlithe for knowing another move that it didn’t I decided to stick with the Global Attack List this round. “Quick!” I said looking towards Growlithe who appeared to be enjoying itself, “Use Agility to attack the Wingull with a powerful Skullbash before it manages to get back up.” Then I swiftly turned my head to face Tempest. “Use the same tactic that I told Growltihe and if the other one tries an aerial attack blast it with bubble!” Tempest nodded and carried out my orders. |

Upon hearing your command, the Growlithe began running circles around the grounded Wingull with the help of agility. As the bird got onto its feet and was about to take off again, Growlithe jumped up at it attacking it with a well executed skull bash attack. The Wingull was knocked onto the ground, crashing into the sand of the beach and sliding further into the smokescreen. Mimicking the Growlithe, Tempest used agility as it bounced around at an increased speed. When he got under where he remembered the Wingull to be, Tempest bounced upwards towards the Wingull attempting to hit it with a skull bash. Unfortunately, the Wingull had moved to the side after the previous bubble hit, and so your Horsea missed. Don't fret though, Horsea knew what to do. As Tempest dropped back down towards the ground, it aimed a bubble attack at the bird hitting it directly again. Score one for Tempest! Looks like you're winning so far, keep it up! As the Wingull on the ground recovered, it hovered back to join his comrade. The two of them began to flap their wings, causing the smokescreen to float over away from the battle before disappearing. As far as I could tell the wingulls had the advantage by a long shot. The wingulls had the advantage as far as levels were concerned and they also had a type advantage over Growlithe who was not suppose to be battling in his condition and just when things couldn’t get worse those little devils could fly when Tempest could barely hold his own on land. Yeah basically the odds were against us until we could find a way to even the playing field. Yeah we managed not to take a hit in this battle, but it was still not enough to guarantee a victory and now that the smokescreen was gone we would have to find a new way of protection. As I contemplated all the things that could cost us the battle I noticed a funny taste in my mouth. Only when Tempest gave me a dirty look that I realized that I had picked up the dirty habit of biting my finger nail which I only did when I was either nervous or embarrassed and since my pants were still on my waist Tempest guessed I was nervous, I quickly spit out the half chewed fingernails and quickly began to think of another plan of action sense the other one didn’t turn out as well as I hoped. Tempest then nodded his head in approval since he saw that I was finally thinking. Seeing as the birds had the skies my two Pokémon would need a place of refuge to protect themselves from any other unexpected attacks. “Eureka!” I said causing Tempest to look at me with anticipation. “Tempest use Smokescreen to create a layer of smoke around Growlithe then use agility again and head towards the water. Once there use Bubble on both of the Wingulls and dive underneath the water whenever they try to attack you. And you-“I cut off to turning my head to face the Growlithe “You are going to have to rely on your sent of smell in order to find the Wingulls and jump up and use Bite one of ‘em and then if you begin to hear them start flapping their wings rapidly use Roar to stop them in their tracks. You both got that?” Tempest nodded which was reassuring enough. “Okay then go get `em guys.” |

So, you were fighting a battle against two Wingulls with a Horsea and a Growlithe that wasn't even yours? Sounds like fun. But the only problem I see here is to find out what guarantees that Growlithe will obey you? If he doesn't that leaves you one Pokémon down and pretty screwed. But, the Growlithe appeared to like you, so maybe it'll stick around. Your Pokémon took your orders and processed them quickly and efficiently. Then, they began to carry them out. Tempest, your Horsea, floated around looking for an opening. He found one and released a thick cloud of black smoke. Now the field was invisible to outside eyes and the playing field was somewhat leveled. You noticed Tempest exit the cloud of smoke and fire a stream of bubbles into the cloud. You heard the bubbles pop against something and you heard a growling noise as well. Maybe Growlithe had gotten a hold of one of the Wingulls. Regardless, you began to hear a flapping of wings. The sounds grew louder and louder. Suddenly, a roar came from within the cloud of black smoke and the flapping stopped. The smoke was becoming easier to see into, but it was still pretty hazy. You noticed one of the Wingulls headed straight towards the water at Tempest and the other one appeared to be reeling, but ready to face off against Growlithe.
