Liana merely smirked, obviously having a trick up her sleeve. Opening her mouth, she said, "Seviper, girl, you can beat that floating solar rock any day. Star off with..." But what she was going to say swiftly died on her lips. She was looking up at the sky with a confused expression on her face, and her Seviper was quick to follow her gaze. Copying her, both Smithers and the ref followed suit. Even your beloved Rocky was distracted from the battle. Naturally, this confused your battle-ready self. What could be so interesting as to distract everyone, even the freaking referee, from this highly anticipated battle between yourself and the snake queen? What the heck was wrong with....*gulp!* Looking up as everyone else, what was happening in the previously beautiful twilight sky was enough to make you quit breathing for a few seconds. This unnatural phenomena, unknown to you, was being experienced all over the Tohean islands. The sky had previously been clear and a blend between inky blue in the east and pale orange in the west. But now, the sky had turned a sickly green and black, putrid clouds were starting to appear. Before long they seemed to be revolving around, almost to the point of being called a vortex. Heck, was this some sort of weird tornado forming? No...Wait, what's up now? The thickening mass of clouds continued swirling around in a circle, until finally a huge black hole opened up in the center. All over the region, priests and the few people who cared were screaming about the apocalypse and praying to God for forgiveness. Suddenly, from the black hole, flaming green fireballs started emerging and falling onto the earth. It was almost like a meteor shower, only this phenomenon made things almost horrendously creepy. You noticed that a particularly bright one landed just beyond the grounds and in the woods nearby. Everyone watched this happening while tongue-tied; you could even notice the servants and other trainers piling out of the mansion now. Even dearest Lady Grace, Max, and Champ had piled out for a look. "I'm going to check it out." Snapping out of your surprised stupor, you saw Liana recall her Seviper as she started running in the general direction of the fallen fireball. She seemed very curious about this happening, and you probably felt the same. Hesitating, Max also seemed to be thinking along the same lines; ignoring his mother's cries of worry and warning, both he and Champ took off sprinting after Liana. Everyone else seemed too stunned or scared to move or care. So...what about you? Ready to follow Liana and Max? Or are you just going to stand here and mope about your opponent running off on you and Rocky? |

Blaze sighed as everyone started looking up at the sky. He looked up and saw the strange looking phenomena. He couldn't quite place what was going on, but he knew it probably wasn't good. It gave him the creeps as he looked at it. He quickly looked at Liana as she recalled her Pokémon and started running towards the strange thing. Max and Champ followed her, both of which were running. Blaze sighed, as he once again recalled his Pokémon into their pokeballs. He started running after the 2 Pokémon trainers and Champ. He hoped that this wouldn't turn out to be a deranged adventure. He hated deranged adventures. |

You really weren't sure if this adventure would classify under "deranged", but it would definitely classify under the "weird" category. Either way, you didn't seem to be the sort of person who would want to miss out on something like this. After all, it was very apparent that this strange event was anything but normal. Then again, when could most trainers not attest to the fact that they had experienced weird happenings? Sprinting after Max, Liana, and Champ, it wasn't long before your little group of odds-and-ends had entered the woods. Reaching the scene where the fireball had shot down, you first saw what looked like a really long gouge in the dirt; obviously this was where the fireball had landed. It was about ten feet long, and one foot wide. The grass and other vegetation around it had caught on fire (normal flames), and it was slowly spreading. However, Liana had that covered; calling out a Gyarados, the thing put out the small blaze within seconds with a Hydro Pump. Good thing she hadn't pulled out something as high-leveled as that against you. But...where was the actual fireball? Maybe it had been a meteor and had disintegrated on impact with the earth. Still, this phenomenon couldn't just be a bunch of weird-looking space rocks hitting the earth, especially if you went with the theory that they came from another dimension. "Champ, what's wrong?" Max sounded concerned. Turning to where the little Growlithe had been sniffing at a nearby tree, you saw that the friendly little puppy looked...well, strange. His eyes were oddly blank, and he was growling at your group savagely. Once in a while the air behind his back would distort slightly when he moved; at these points, the little fire type would blink in what seemed to be confusion before resuming his savage pose. "Are you okay boy?" Reaching out to touch his little puppy, he recoiled slightly as the Pokémon snapped at him. "What's up with you?" Liana had watched the whole situation with a calculating expression on her face. Narrowing her eyes, she commanded, "Gyarados, use Ice Fang right behind the Growlithe's back. Something isn't quite right there." Roaring, the thing obeyed. Swooping down, its fangs glowing a light blue, it snapped at the general area of Champ's back. At first you were about to protest this action as you saw it an attempt to hurt the puppy; the next moment your eyes widened with surprise as something materialized on the Growlithe's back. Before you could get a decent look at it, however, the huge serpent threw the thing behind it and off into the woods. Liana was smiling. "Thought so. Your mutt was possessed." Champ blinked in surprise, before giving a happy bark and running into a giggling Max's arms. Suddenly, Liana's Gyarados snarled. More of the said creatures had appeared all around you in ripples of air, and now you got a good look at them. To describe their anatomy, it was...well, weird to say the least. Looks like all of you may have a huge battle on your hands. Liana looked as though she would welcome it, while Max looked just plain nervous and still rattled from his puppy's possession. Evil, rasping laughs filled the clearing. :cthooloo (Multiple) Round one, begin. *bell clangs* Edited by Bahamutrant, Jan 16 2009, 01:34 AM.

Blaze sighed as he watched the strange events unfold before him. He liked Liana, she had guts and smarts. Her water Pokémon was strong, he at least was grateful she had a water Pokémon. She was also the first to realize what was going on with Champ. He watched as the water Pokémon knocked something off the puppys back. "What would make a Pokémon possess another Pokémon?" He asked as he watched the :... start gathering around them. "Don't Worry Max, you don't have to fight if you don't want to. I think Me and Liana can handle these weaklings." He said as he grinned at Max. He looked at Liana and back at the strange beings. He got out his poketech to see if he could get any info on them. No Infomation available. "Was worth a try." He said. "Okay this is gonna stretch my planning ability but here I go. Rocky use agility to boost your speed, then use confusion on any of the strange beings. Cuddles use double team to make it harder to hit you, then use confusion on one of the strange beings. Dracos use agility to boost your speed then use bite on any of those stranges beings." Blaze shouted. He knew he couldn't take the chance that the strange Pokémon like beings would over run him and Liana. "Soulster, Salam, and Slyster. You three are my backup. Stay next to Max and Champ, if any of the strange beings try to get to him and Champ attack them." He said looking at Max. Max looked a little to nervous at the moment to be battling. A nervous trainer is a trainer liable to make mistakes. Something a trainer can't be when dealing with multiple unknown things. "Good luck Liana. But if what I've seen, a good luck comment is just that a comment. Your a good trainer, you have wits and smarts." He said looking back at his Pokémon and getting ready to having a long fight ahead of him. |

At your wish of luck, Liana turned away so that you wouldn't see her blush. Luckily for her, you hadn't noticed any of this. A couple of your Pokémon had, however, and they were fighting not to start cracking up a little as they took their respective positions on the battling field. While three of your Pokémon moved to flank Max and Champ (who was still whimpering in fear and confusion, being a puppy), the other three squared off against two of the monsters. It appeared as though Liana's Gyarados was high enough in level to take on the remaining beasts. Just for good measure, she even called out an Arbok, her Ekans, Seviper, and a Dratini. Two eight-foot tall creatures against your Pokémon was obviously asking for almost more than enough. That, and the two said beasts that you would be battling seemed pretty hefty in terms of power. Still, that didn't mean that your Pokémon didn't want to try. Rocky started everything off by speed-floating through the air with Agility. At the same time Cuddles created multiple copies of himself by using Double Team. Dracos also started running around the main field, his stubby little legs propelling him as fast as possible. Before the two nasty monsters could quite gather themselves, they were surrounded by two speeding blurs and at least ten copies of Cuddles. The higher-leveled being decided to extend its long mouth tentacles and whip them around at the copies of Cuddles, but to no avail did this work. Each copy vanished as the whip-like appendages came into contact with them, and there were still three remaining. Not giving up, both creatures used an Absorb in Rocky's general direction. The higher-leveled one missed, but the lower-leveled one was able to glean some HP by this maneuver. Angered by this, both Cuddles and Rocky double-teamed to use a Confusion. True, the attack glowed around both monsters for a minute, but it didn't seem to be damaging them at all. Perhaps these things had ghost or dark type characteristics? Meh, you'll probably find out if you catch one. Angered at this, Dracos charged the weaker one and bit into one of its legs with Bite. The weaker one was able to shake him off after a few moments, and your dragon went flying through the air before he was safely caught by the floating Rocky. The attack had done little damage, so perhaps these things WERE dark types...and possibly more. The two things had hardly done anything, and you already had some troubling things to do with. You weren't currently paying attention to your potential girlfriend as you figured that she had her own problems at the moment. :cthooloo ? Lv. 10 45/45 91%:cthooloo ? Blaze watched as his Pokémon fought as well as they could, he made note of the fact that the confusion attacked weren't as effective as he'd hope they'd be. Blaze thought about it quickly, he knew that psychic attacks could touch ghost Pokémon. That meant that there was a good chance that they would have dark type qualities. This meant that his psychic Pokémon would be nearly useless against them. 'Hmmmm a change is in order here.' Blaze thought to himself as he made the needed plan changes. "Okay heres what we need to do. First Cuddles use another double team, Rocky use another agility. Then both of you use confusion to pelt one of those strange creatures with small rocks or small hard objects that are laying around. Dracos use another agility, and follow up with the strongest headbutt you can on the other creature. Please try not to get to badly hurt doing this." He said as he watched them getting ready to follow though. Blaze looked at Max and Champ, he worried about Champ more so. He was still young and from the looks of it wasn't use to battling. Max looked like he was holding up on his own. "Don't worry Champ everything will be just fine." He said as he looked at Champ then up to Max. He looked back at his Pokémon, he couldn't afford to keep doing that. He needed to focus now, and then an idea hit him. He looked at Max with a grin. "Max I need you to watch the strange beings, see if you can see where their weaknesses are. If you can tell us, it'd give us a great advantage to know what they are." He said as he watched Max, before looking back at the creatures. Knowing opponents weaknesses would be a great thing to know if one doesn't know one's opponent. He only hoped that his Pokémon could hold out long enough to exploit it. |

The battle raged on as you THOUGHT you had discovered the opposing Pokémon's type, or atleast, one of them. Though, could you be sure? Maybe they were just highly intelligent life-forms with the ability to not take damage from Psychic-Type mental-attacks? Well, it didn't really matter, because now round... eleventy billion was about to start! As you commanded your Pokémon -and Champ- it seemed as though you had a good plan. Champ was debating whether he could help or not, because the opposing monsters were making him whimper in fright, fear for his very life even. Though, he decided that he would atleast try to help you, as much as he could anyways. With that said, Ralts and Solrock -Cuddles and Rocky- darted off to do your bidding. Cuddles was moving around both of the target with incredibly speed, creating after-images of himself as he moved, and even using confusion as the same time to make it appear as though those after images were pelting objects at the monsters. As he did that, Rocky too darted about, but as he moved around you could see his speed having gone up only a little from before. Though, atleast his speed had gone up and he was now using confusion in order to pelt the targetted beasts with larger stones, though it took him a little longer to do so. While all this happened your Bagon seemed to have disappeared with agility, possibly trying to use your other two Pokémon as a distraction while he raised his speed, preparing himself to attack when the monster's least expected it. Soon enough though, the beasts started to fight back as one of them used absorb in order to destroy some of the Ralts after-images, while also using its tentacles to swat away stones. The other seemed to be doing something almost entirely different as its eyes started to glow a bloody crimson color as it stared at Solrock -who was no longer pelting stones- and eventually caused the Pokémon to fall onto the ground; Solrock had been induced with sleep. Eventually, Ralts had been discovered by the monsters and as they neared him to attack, Bagon came from seemingly nowhere --Actually, he'd been hiding in a tree-- and slammed his rock-hard skull into one of the monsters' and sent that monster into a semi-domino effect as it knocked the other one off balance, saving Cuddles from oncoming doooom. :genderless Lv. 9 31/39 76%[[Speed +3]] [[Asleep]] Lv. 5 35/35 74%[[Speed +3]] Lv. 10 40/45 81%[[Evasion +2]] VS :cthooloo :genderless Lv. 10 39/45 83%:cthooloo :genderless Lv. 9 29/43 84%

'Crap... I didn't expect that to happen. I didn't expect them ot find Cuddles either. Okay sifting plans here.' Blaze thought as he looked around at his Pokémon. He didn't want to change Pokémon right now unless he had to. A sleeping Pokémon could still be a useful Pokémon to have around. But how could he use the change of events to his advantage. He thought about it for a few seconds before deciding on the change of plans. "Okay Ralts use agility pick up some speed. Then stand behind Rocky for protection, use confusion to keep pelting rocks and that at the beings. Dracos use another agility to pick up even more speed. Then use another headbutt at one of the beings. Whatever you 2 do don't keep direct eye contact with them. Also don't let them get ahold of you 2 either, who knows what they could do." he said as he watched both his Pokémon take his orders and started getting ready for another round. He hoped that Rocky would wake up soon, and he couldn't take the chance of trying to wake him up either. He thought about all the options he could take, he didn't just want to leave a Pokémon defenseless either in a dangerous situation. He disliked that kind of fighting, where trainers wouldn't care about their Pokémon as long as they won. "ROCKY WAKE UP! Please. This is no time to be sleeping." He said/shouted in a concerned voice. He hoped that would help wake him up, even drowsey he'd be more useful in this fight. He looked over to Max and Champ, he hoped that they were doing okay. "Hey. how you holding up?" He asked Max while keeping an eye on his Pokémon. |

"F-f-fine," Max barely muttered, his teeth chattering. You couldn't blame him for being scared out of his wits by these monstrosities. Liana was still fighting the rest of the creatures with her valiant Gyarados, and even though they were making headway, you could tell that her Pokémon were getting tired. Oh well, best pay attention to your own troubles for now. At least Champ's going to be okay. Using Agility, your Ralts sped behind the sleeping Solrock that was designated as Rocky. Bending low from there, he watched as the higher-leveled monster thing tried to Tackle Draco; however, Draco used yet another Agility to raise his speed to the max, and he was able to dodge the large Pokémon with some ease. However, the weaker creature put out its foot and sent Draco half-tripping onto the ground; barely able to react, some of the slightly smaller monster's tentacles slapped against your Bagon as he made his way out of there. From his vantage point, your Ralts started levitating rocks with his psychic power and flinging them at the two beasts. This distracted them enough that Draco got out of the thick of the battle, and the larger of the two creatures used Supersonic; a bad combination, as Ralts's rocks started flying all over the place after that. All of the Pokémon (and you) had to keep dodging the wayward rocks as your confused psychic type finished his "attack". Luckily this barrage of rocks was also able to awaken Rocky. As he started blinking in confusion and floating in the air, Bagon came up from behind the weaker monster and connected with Headbutt. Roaring, the thing turned around to confront your dragon, but...he wasn't there! You speeding up your Pokémon was really benefiting them, although they were using their energy quicker. Pay attention, as this battle is far from over. :genderless Lv. 9 30/39 76%(Speed +3) Lv. 5 32/35 68%(Speed +5) Lv. 10 37/45 76%(Evasion +2) (Speed +2) (Confused) VS :cthooloo :genderless Lv. 10 35/45 72%:cthooloo :genderless Lv. 9 18/43 82%

Blaze smiled, things were working out fine. His Pokémon may be tired, at least they weren't majorly hurt. Cuddles seemed to be confused from the supersonic, but he thought it wouldn't affect anything majorly. It might prove a slight annoyance, but other then that he could work around it. "Okay now is the time for the full out assault. Dracos use your speed to get close and headbutt one of the beings, then follow through with a powerful tackle attack. Cuddles and Rocky both of you use 2 confusions to throw as many rocks and that at the 2 beings as you can. Remember try not to look direct in their eyes, and stay away from their tentacles." He said, getting 2 pokeballs ready. One of the strange beings looked like it was weakening, and if it was a Pokémon then he was gonna catch it. A new species could make him a good ranked trainer. And if it was a rare species then it would really boost his ranking in the trainers community. Not that he cared about ranking, all he wanted was to become a good psychic Pokémon trainer. The other strange being looked like it needed some more weakening to be caught, but he was willing to fight. After all, after his pal fainted and was caught it would be 3 against 1. Of course he'd probably call back 1 of his Pokémon to at least even the odds, just to make it a fair fight. "Don't worry... this fight will be over soon Max." He said looking at Max with a grin. "Hey Liana! How are you holding up on your end?" He said glancing over to make sure she was okay, before looking back as his Pokémon. If what he expected was true then he had nothing to fear. Liana seemed to be able to take care of herself. |

"Peachy," Liana simply replied. She seemed full and confident, but you could tell from her voice that both she and her Pokémon were starting to get pretty worn down. Then again so were you, so I'd say you both were in the same situation. Her Pokémon were also of a higher level than yours, so they could more than likely hold their own against a hoard of these alienish things from God-knows-where. Your instructions for your Pokémon to not look at the beasts' eyes were very well thought out. Both of them used Leer simultaneously, but only Cuddles was foolish enough to even glance at the said attack in his confusion. Luckily that seemed to be wearing off, and both he and Rocky started readying their Confusion attacks; rocks were already starting to float up into the air. Dracos lowered his head and ran at the slightly weaker one with Headbutt. However, his attack was intercepted as the stronger one caught him with his tentacles and used Absorb to drain his energy further. If Rocky and Cuddles hadn't used two double Confusions on their part, your dragon would have been in a lot of trouble. The two squid-things hadn't planned on a blinding shower of rocks and boulders, and that's exactly what happened. As they were damaged, Dracos was able to wriggle free and use his remaining Tackle on the stronger monster. As it was, after all attacks were over, both creatures were definitely in the hurt; in fact, the weaker one was practically putty in your hands. That's literal as you lobbed your Pokeball at the monster and watched as it was consumed in a flash of red light. The ball wiggled violently a few times, and you wondered if the ball could take it. As it was, you were almost positive the lock was being strained to its breaking point. And then, just as you were debating about using another one, the lock clicked and a *ding!* came from the spherical orb. How about that, you had actually caught one of these beasts! One down, one to go.... Blaze smiled as she said she was fine. The last thing he wanted was her being in trouble right now. Although from the looks of things, he could handle all the strange creatures without trouble. "Thats good. Just one to deal with over here." He said as he thought about the best way to deal with the creature. "Okay, Dracos go around behind the creature. Then use skull bash and headbutt to deal some heavy damage to the strange creature. Cuddles and Rocky both of you use confusion twice again to throw some more rocks at the remaining creature." He said with a grin, he knew he had the creature beaten. There was no way for it to win now, its partner was captured. He hated feeling cocky, but he knew there was no way for him to lose unless more creatures showed up. Blaze got ready to throw the other pokeball once the creature was weak enough to be captured by it. He knew it was gonna get desperate to win, desperate creatures tended to get dangerous when cornered. "After this I could go for a long nice soak in a steamingly warm bath. I wonder where this things came from? They don't seem to be any Pokémon I've seen or heard of." He started thinking out loud. He also wanted to drink some rather nice Russian tea. He was rather fond of the mildly bitter taste of the tea. Mainly because it relaxed him during long stressful periods of time. All he wanted was this strange encounter to be over with. Although, the thought of having 2 or more new probably rare creatures in his possession was a tempting thought. But that was a idea for a later time perhaps, and maybe he'd get lucky and get some more later on. Right now he had some pressing issues with the current creature. |

Cuddles and Rocky both started flinging rocks using Confusion, and the thing was almost powerless to stop the attack. Roaring, it charged forward and tried to use Tackle on Cuddles, but the little psychic Pokémon was able to narrowly dodge. While the monster was preoccupied with Cuddles, Dracos was able to edge around behind him and used Skull Bash. Despite its hideous face, it wasn't too hard for the creature to show how shocked it was by this maneuver. Before it could fully turn around, however, your Bagon used another Headbutt. Not being able to take too much more, the monster fainted. (To simplify EXP calculations, which I personally think the system needs work, I'm going to elevate your Bagon by two levels and the rest of your participating Pokémon by one. They will still retain all of their previous EXP) Normally by now you'd probably be upset with yourself that the monster had fainted, right? Not so in this world! Unlike the games, the Pokémon don't just disappear when they faint. No, here they normally lay on the ground, helpless to the world. Throwing the Pokeball, the thing wiggled weakly a few times before the lock clicked. You had knocked out the monster, so did you really expect too much resistance? Looking around, you could still see Max cuddled up with his Growlithe, still trying to comfort the disturbed Champ. Liana had finally finished her battle with the rest of the monsters, and all of her Pokémon were winded but alive. Recalling them, she turned to you and looked as though she was about to speak before she was interrupted by a "Maxie!" Turning around, you saw Lady Grace appear and pat her son and his dog over, checking to make sure that they were unscathed. Two servants flanked her, obviously nervous about being out here in the field of fireballs. "Oh Maxie, what happened? I saw Champ act all strange...are you okay?" she doted, nearly crushing her son in a death-hug. Despite his mutterings that he was all right, she looked around the clearing and saw most of the knocked-out creatures. "I hope you weren't the one battling all of those demons...you aren't strong enough for that yet with just Champ! Who helped you?" Winking at you, Liana took charge from here. "Blaze and I took charge of the battles. Compared to me, Blaze dominated and knocked out 3/4 of those monsters. He's way more powerful than he looks." How about that, she seemed to be lying for you! Lady Grace looked at you, that spark of foreboding finally gone from her eyes. "You...saved my Maximus?" she asked. Before you knew it, the semi-revolting woman ran up to you and gave you a glomping hug, and you wondered whether you'd ever be able to breathe again. "I underestimated you." Composing herself, she then invited both you and Liana back to the house "until this wretched event ends. They're covering it on the news. Apparently it's happening all over Tohea." Not too bad (and dramatic) of an ending, eh? Edited by DDXD001, Oct 24 2008, 07:38 AM.

Blaze looked at the pokeball as it wiggled and captured the strange Pokémon. It vanished after a few seconds, but that wasn't unexpected considering he already had 6 Pokémon with him. He looked over at Max who was comforting his Growlithe. Liana looked like she was finishing up her battle, her Pokémon looked tired but unharmed. He was surprised to see Lady Grace and her servents coming out from somewhere. He was even more surprised when Liana said that he had dealed with about 3/4ths of the fight. Which wasn't true, but he wasn't gonna argue with a lady. "It's true that i dealed with a few of them, but i can't claim all the credit. Liana did her part too." He said trying not to be modest. "We'd be honored lady Grace." he said returning his Pokémon to their pokeballs. He waited for everyone to start moving, he didn't want to walk ahead of everyone. It just wouldn't be the thing to do, to walk infront of a lady. A good rest until the event was over would be a good thing, besides his Pokémon could use some time that didn't involve battling. |

Lady Grace led the small party into her home. A doorman greeted each of you as you entered. The building want the largest you’d seen, but for a home it was massive! Marble columns reached high to arched ceilings. Crystal chandlers lit the room. Lady Grace led you down a small, spiral staircase to a smaller room under the main level. To call this a basement would be an insult. The room was decorated with dark hardwoods, and a forest carpet. A large wooden desk sat at one end of the room, while bookshelves lined the wall. This appeared to be a study. The walls also help various mementos. Pictures of people you didn’t know were up, with objects that were probably antiques. In one of the cases, a flat screen TV was tuned to the Tohean News Network. A woman in a red jacket was talking: “…opened earlier today. The fireballs have been spotted in every corner of the Tohean Region. However, we are now receiving news that the event appears to be ending.” The camera paned up to the sky. The black vortex you had seen earlier was shrinking as green fireballs launched back into the void. The report came back into view. “Officials are asking everyone to please stay inside until this matter has been cleared up. Now back to….” lady Grace pressed a small button on the remote that she help. “well young man. It looks as though I owe you my gratitude. Tell me, what do you plan on doing with those horrible monsters you’ve captured?” |
