"Are you ok Diglett?" Cuburt thought a bout returning Diglett and sending out Cherry. In the end he decided against it since this was Diglett's fight and her's alone to settle. "Digglet can you still fight?" Diglett looked ok enough. "You are doing great Diglett!" Cuburt got back into fight-mode.

The battle was turning around though. It was now or never for Diglett to use dig. Shouldn't be to hard though since 'DIG'lett had dig in its name and has been digging since birth. Using dig would be a good way to deal damage also. Weedle being a poisin type would have been hurt even more by the attack. Well time for action, Cuburt looked at Diglett.

"Diglett it's time for a new move! Use Dig on Weedle!" Diglett looked a t Cuburt kind of dazed. "You know Diglett, dig! You can do it. It's just like tackle only from underground!" Cuburt gave a soft smile to his Pokémon. "Just dig deep and ram up towards Weedle."

Grr... I need to do this fast, Cuburt thought, I don't want Diglett to become too hurt from all that poison. In thought of his Pokémon Cuburt shouted, "Ready Diglett! Use dig now!" Quickly Diglett dove underground preparing for the dig attack. If this hits the battle will be ours! "You can do it Diglett! Its a simple attack, remember what I told you, just tackle from underground! Ok Diglett, Dig!"

This battle was truly not going in your favor. Diglett was poisoned and slowly, but steadily losing health. His only chance of winning was to attempt something simple yet complex. Could the creature do it? With your explanation, I think not. Tackle from underground is what Dig is yes, but it is not so simple.

Diglett fell into his tunnel and began heading towards where Weedle was. Weedle's trainer simply informed Weedle to move over. The little bug moved slightly to the right, out of where he was. That sucks for Diglett. Well, the creature burrowed up and popped his head up weakly where Weedle was supposed to be. Diglett's aim was a little bit off and so the mole was able to nudge Weedle gently. The mole looked around confusedly and turned towards you again. Had he done it right? I don't think so.

Weedle's mouth opened and purple spikes rained out again. They hit Diglett square in the back, sending the mole sprawling out of his hole. He was now lying face down defenseless in the dirt. Could you rectify this situation by correctly teaching Dig? Who knows? Lets try again.

Oh my gosh, Weedle has a mouth! Cuburt was amazed. But back to the subject. Cuburt didn't want Diglett to suffer any more. So he had to teach Diglett Dig correctly this time. "Diglett I'm really sorry! We'll get it right this time!" Cuburt thought hard. There was two questions that needed answering. What went wrong last time and what is dig exactly. Cuburt remembered the best he could. Diglett was doing fine until he came back up! That's when weedle easily moved aside and dodged it. That must be it. All Cuburt had to do now is tell Diglett to ise its nautral speed to hit Weedle when it moves.

There must be more though. Hmmm, oh yeah! How is Diglett going to know where Weedle is? Easy enough though digletts by nature can sense things above ground. So that was that. Now to put it into words.

"Diglett in order to dig you need to use your natural quickness. Dig underground and sense where Weedle is by the vibrations it causes when it moves around above ground or even by its heart beating. Come up as suddenly as possible too. Don't give it a chance to dodge." Since Diglett had ninty-five base speed and Weedle only had fifty base speed, according to his poketch, Diglett could easily move fast enough to strike before Weedle even had a chance to think about dodging. "Diglett remeber to strike suddenly and and without warning! That is the key to dig." Cuburt crossed his fingers and said, "Dig on Weedle Diglett."

"Another Poison Sting, Weedle!" the other trainer ordered confidently, wrongfully assuming that he had a solid upper hand. "And then use Defense Curl to strengthen yourself in preparation for another hit!"

Poison continued to hack away at your Diglett, but he was still well enough to try and learn Dig. Tunneling down again, (while using this method to dodge Weedle's Poison Sting in the mix) Diglett tried to sense Weedle's movements. He could feel light vibrations as the caterpillar thing moved into a Defense Curl, prepared for the worst. Using what you had ordered him previously, Diglett tunneled up to the surface and came up...right to the left of Diglett. He had been close, but still hadn't gotten things quite right.

Yet, this was enough to knock Weedle slightly awry since he was still curled up in a ball and into his own trainer, and his trainer fell to the ground, sputtering as he tried to regain his breath. Not a bad hit, but Diglett still needed to fully learn Dig. Until that was achieved, this battle was going to be hard...Unless you wanted to switch tactics for now? That was all up to you, of course. Nobody's about to force you to change anything in your attack procedure.

Wait too long on trying to learn this new attack, and Diglett might get creamed. We wouldn't want that to happen now, do we? The poor ground type is already suffering enough from poison....

"Wow Diglett! You are awesome. You almost mastered it!" Cuburt smiled a big cheesy grin at his beloved Pokémon. Diglett was truly impressive. Due to the poison though, Diglett was in trouble. If only he wasn't poisoned then he might have learned dig this battle. Diglett took to much damage though. Maybe if he felt better he could do some sort of Whack-a-mole move to hit Weedle repeatedly, but that was also too much. There was only one thing to do now though! Just stick to tackles and scratches.

"Now Diglett use Scratch! Unless you want to come back to your pokeball?" Diglett shook its head and growled at Weedle. It seemed to be mad about the poison that it had so rudely put into her. "Ok then, your choose! Scratch attack Diglett!"

Diglett started moving through the ground, heading directly towards the Weedle. “Weedle, poison sting again, if that misses try another one.” The trainer said and Weedle took a step forward. It opened its mouth and released about 15 tiny purple needles flew straight for Diglett.

Diglett popped its head underground for a second as the needles flew harmlessly by, then popped back up, continuing his attack on the Weedle. H closed the gap and slashed at the little bug Pokémon, and sent it flying again. Weedle flew through the air, and sent out a long thin line, catching he roof with it and causing the Pokémon to hang by its tail.

Weedle flew back around towards Diglett, and unleashed a second flurry of needles at the mole Pokémon, still to no avail as Diglett dodged underground again. Well, that had been a good round; at least you hadn’t been hit by an attack, and had done some pretty good damage to the Weedle. Now, if only your Diglett could continue without fainting from the poison.

"OK diglett, can you still battle?" The mole nodded. Cuburt could tell that Diglett was hurt and exghausted. "Fine if you say so. Nice move digging underground to dodge by the way too. See if you can do it again this round.

"Headbutt Diglett! Hit em fast and hard! Don't overdo it though! I don't want you to get hurt." Cuburt glanced over at the Weedle's trainer. He looked pretty smug over there even though his Pokémon was so hurt. What a jerk.

The battle was almost over. Who knew a weedle would be so hard to beat? Maybe his Pokémon needed to train some more or something. Well anyway, it was is his first battle after all. What more could he expect?

"Hey you should praise your weedle more, he is doing a good job this battle. Maybe give him a snack or something when its over." Cuburt smiled, "Just say Good Job if you are too tired. Anything would do. Praise dude, praise." This was Cuburt's first battle but he just thought he should say something.

Diglett went underground yet again, and this time the Trainer knew exactly what to do and started shouting. "Weedle, hurry and crawl to where Diglett used to be! Then turn around and use two shots of Poison Sting of where you are right now! He's bound to be there!"

You could try shouting, though it wouldn't do you much good. Weedle immediately stated crawling, though he was only halfway to where he was supposed to be before Diglett popped up where he was. Diglett turned and saw what Weedle was doing and quickly moved there. Before Weedle's trainer could do much of anything, the bug got a nice Headbutt.

Long story (not really) short, you won the battle hands down, though Diglett was still pretty messed up. And Weedle's trainer didn't look too happy. As a matter of fact, another Pokémon was released on the field and he told it to demolish Diglett. Diglett tried getting away, but was struck hard by the Pidgey's Tackle attack and he fainted. The trainer laughed and returned Pidgey and started walking away, saying that you couldn't tell him to treat his Pokémon when you were the amateur. Weedle was returned as well.

I suppose you could always jump the kid if you wanted, though I don't know if that would really do you any good. Police is always an option too, as well as just completely ignoring the jerk. Don't know which you really want to do though.

Oh yeah, Diglett gained 50 :exp which I will add right now.

"Return Diglett!" It took all Cuburt had not to take a pokeball and crack him in the head....hard. He decided against it and went to the nurse. "Please nurse, can you heal my Diglett again. I'm sorry about the floor too." Cuburt looked down at the pokeball Diglett was in. He smiled and handed it to the nurse.

"Awesome Diglett, lets work on Dig when you get back. You earned yourself some extra pokefood." Cuburt sat on the couch and waited for his Pokémon to return for the hospital. Cuburt couldn't wait to meet that jerk of a trainer and kick his butt next time. Then maybe, just maybe, bash his head in...

(Careful...you're barely scraping the minimum.)

"That's no problem at all," Nurse Joy said with a smile, even though it was somewhat forced. "We have an emergency fund for such things. I'm used to battles tearing up the place every once in a while. Your Diglett will be returned shortly."

Indeed, after a swift healing treatment, your mole was returned to you. He looked rather happy, especially with you. He nuzzled against your foot, since he couldn't really come up out of the floor. Times like this make you wonder, what does a Diglett's lower half look like? All you ever see is their head...unless that's all that there is to them. An odd mystery indeed to surfacers.

Back out on the street, you passed a dirty, fenced-in old lot. Most of the ground was covered in dust and grass, and some garbage lingered. It looked like the perfect place to train Diglett how to use Dig properly, and you could easily jump the fence. Still, it looked sort of forbidding and rather uninviting in general. People usually have to suck up these fears, though.

Or you could just look for another opportune place, although this place was for the most part deserted. Nobody could get mad at Diglett for tunneling through it, and I'd personally take advantage of the opportunity. Just try not to disturb any Pokémon that may be living in it, as urban Pokémon usually do frequent abandoned areas. Great care should be taken in this situation.

"Hey Diglett look over there! A perfect place to train!" Cuburt hopped the fence with ease. Cuburt waited on the other side of the fence hoping that Diglett was going to hop up too, even though that was highly unlikely, Diglett just tunneled under and came up on the other side though. Maybe he would never see Diglett's feet

Disappointed Cuburt ran to the middle of the lot and grabbed some rocks. He gently lined them up about two feet apart each. He stood back and yelled towards Diglett, "Ok Diglett you almost mastered the move Dig. Lets completly master it though ok? I want you to hit these rocks i set up here with some digs. I know you are tired and propably want to rest, but we need to teach you a ground type move.

Cuburt sent out Cherubi to watch. All this sun was good for her leaf's too. Maybe should would also get a tan.... just kidding of course. Cherubi sat on Cuburt's head and waited patiently.

"OK Diglett lets try it out! You are ninty percent there. Should be easy enough. Since the rocks are moving it will be hard to detect them so try to memorize where they are at before you dig. I doubt they will run away." Cuburt chuckled to his not very funny joke. "Now Dig Diglett."

Honestly, how could Diglett not know the move dig yet? It was beyond me. The Pokémon was basically digging none-stop so how it didn't somehow know how to use this attack in a battle was obsurd and something I wanted answers for. But anyway, lets see how your Diglett gets on doing this move...

Diglett began to burrow deep into the ground. Tunneling through the soil. Hmm, I wonder what the bottom of Diglett looks like... Do you think its just round? Or just a flat edge, or do you think that things got feet? Hmm, wierd... Diglett began to burst through the surface of the ground, smacking into the rocks you had provided for your Pokémon. Perfect hit! The Diglett went under again, and once again hit another rock, and again, rinse and repeat.

Diglett knew Dig, definately, but maybe you ought to train it on something that could move and pose abit of a threat, those rocks didn't seem a threat at all. Lucky, or unluckily for you. A sleeping trio of Pokémon had awaken and been glaring at you and your Diglett for some time. They began to speak among each other before deciding they were going to teach you a lesson, the hard way. They hopped out from what appeared to be nowhere and faced you and your Diglett, shouting their name in a fiersome manner. One of them began to glow a bright blue. All the small rocks around you began to glow the same colour and hover in the air.

I guess you had something you could train on now, huh? Hey, you could even catch one or two of theese Pokémon, they are a pretty neat asset to anyones team.

:ralts Lv. 5 :male & :female
:glameow Lv. 7 :female

[Dig is practically learnt, but I suggest you try using it on a moving object I.E theese Pokémon to put a 100% on it]

"Woah didn't see that one coming." Cuburt grabbed his Yanma pokeball. Diglett and Cherry were already out which was convienent. "Ready guys lets train hard!" Cherry hopped off Cuburt's head. She seemed excited about the battle. Yanma came out of his pokeball buzzing and ready for action! Diglett popped up from the ground looking around at the new Pokémon.

"Its three on three guys, team works the key!" All his Pokémon grunted in reply. Cuburt decided his first move would be to take out the ralts since their psychic powers could be a problem. "OK diglett time to master dig! Use dig on the male Ralts, Cherry you use headbutt." Cherry should have extra speed from the sunlight which will definatly help him. Yanma gets extra speed every turn thanks to his abilty speed boost. Diglett's speed stat was nautral high also, so speed was not an issue with Cuburt's Pokémon.

"Yanma use tackle also on the male ralts! Don't KO him though, I want to catch him. I doubt he'll go down on the first attack anyway." This was Yanma's first battle, Cuburt hoped that he does well. Cuburt pointed at the ralts to show his Pokémon it was time to attack their target!

Your Diglett quickly responded by digging underground. Your enemies didn't notice too much however, and kept eyes on the other two. Cherubi jumped at the male Ralts. But was stopped however as it used confusion. Cherubi began to wobble and struggly as it hovered mid air. Before the feline oponent quickly jumped into it with a powerfull tackle. You had made some mistake here, as you had forgotten about the other two opponents attacking you right now. The female Ralts then used confusion on Yanma and stopped it from doing anything.

The ground under the male Ralts began to crack, and it was attacked from under by your Diglett. Diglett to the rescue! The female Ralts looked as its partner was attacked, and lost its focus. Now Yanma was out of the confusion and quickly flew in for a powerfull tackle on the Male. The male Ralts fell to the floor, in some state of pain and shock.

The feline jumped up again, and with its sharp claws slashed your Yanma, causing the flying bug to fall to the ground too, screeching in pain. Well, this round hadn't gone aswell as it could be. Yanma and Cherubi were on the floor in some ammount of pain. Diglett was fairly tired from training. And two of your opponents hadn't taken a single hit.

I suggest you try and attack all of the, rather than just one.

"Good work we got the ralts down a few team. Now lets get them all." Cuburt thought about which Pokémon should attack which. He couldn't find a good plan so he decided to wing it. His Pokémon could do it.

The opponent Pokémon seemed to know what they were doing also. They worked pretty well on a team, plus they protect each other. That will be a problem for sure. Maybe they had like a Pokémon gang or something, who knows. Any way he should take one out of the equation to stir them up some and maybe confuse them slightly.

"Now Diglett use dig on the male ralts." Cuburt got a pokeball ready to catch it if it was low enough after the dig attack. "Cherry use tackle on the glameow. Yanma use bite on the female ralts."
