Manuel blinked confusedly and opened his mouth to say something to the man when he appeared but found himself -for the first time so far- speechless. Instead, he gripped his pokeballs and recalled Malifest, Flame, and Orion to their balls and sighed in relief that they hadn't really gotten stolen. He looked over to Kitty and smiled; "Atleast we have our Pokémon back, right?" At that time, he looked over at the man once again and started to process everything he'd said. First of all he'd called himself the 'Game Master' which could mean that he could be a mass murdered bent on destroying them... but then... why would he return the Pokémon? Later on though, he had said that He and Kitty had 'Pleased him.' and that the rest of the trainers hadn't the guts or state of mine for his 'invention.' Could it possibly be that he was owner of a large gaming industry? But still... The man had continued on to say that it was a test... and that there was a Job involved. Manuel looked over at Kitty later when the man asked if they wanted to go with him and his eyes seemed to say 'Do you want to?' though it was quite obvious that he did, and while he wanted to, and his eyes asked Kitty a question, his mind instructed Dini. Dini, if we go I want you to stay outside of your pokeball and make sure you take note of everything. This may turn out to be one big trick, so if anything happens, I'll need you to teleport us. He thought for a moment before looking back at the man. "I'm up to go, but I wont go anywhere if Kitty doesn't come with me." He stated, as it was quite obvious that, for one thing, he didn't trust this guy fully and if something happened he'd need Kitty's help, and for another thing, he had a promise to keep. |

Kitty watch with surprised as her Pokémon where returned to her. Terai and Shalicaes seemed to be happy to be back with their trainer because they both tried to get in her lap. She smiled and gently petted both of them before she returned them to their Pokeballs. She then heard the man's words outl. She wasn't sure on what to make out of this guy. He said that they had past the test and that both she and Manuel pleased him. She wasn't sure what he was getting at until he asked them if they will help him out with his invention. Kitty noticed that Manuel had looked at her a couple of times before he turned to the guy and said, "I'm up to go, but I wont go anywhere if Kitty doesn't come with me." When he said this Kitty felt something happen inside her. With this she realized that she could alway count on Manuel to help her out just like it seems he can count on her to help him out. She smiled and said, "I'm with you Manuel. Besides this might be very interesting who knows." "Taillow," Speedy said flapping his wings excitedly. *Roar* Pasaer said. He wasn't going to let Kitty do this on her own. He was with her all the way. Kitty looked at Manuel and then at the guy. It seems that I've really come to trust Manuel. I know that I can't rely on him because I have to rely on myself but I'm happy that he said that. He really is a great guy Kitty thought to herself. She wasn't going to rely on Manuel to make her choices for her. She knows how to make them herself. But she knows that she can rely on him to be a good friend and be there for her when she needs him. Speedy gently touch his trainer with his wing as he also watch the man and Manuel. Pasaer kept a guard dog look by standing in front of Kitty the whole time that the conversation went. "Right then, if you'll just follow me....," Aix said, nodding at both of you as you agreed. With your respective Pokémon in tow, he led both of you past the jealous onlookers, downstairs to the lobby, and then out the door. As you two followed him, he started jabbering about his gaming company's successes, failures, and blah blah blah. After that lovely monologue was said and done (some points of it had been rather interesting), you found yourselves outside of the huge corporate black office building known as AmTech Institutes. Now how official was it? Well, the two security guards standing at the door with pistols on their belts pretty well conveyed the idea. "Follow me to my office," he said almost impatiently, obviously bursting to give more details about what the both of you would be doing. He had his foot through the sliding doors when he looked up, gave a muffled squeak, and was forced to sink down in a sitting position to the pavement. Even the stony-faced bodyguards took notice of what he was staring at. "Oh...my....God...." The early evening sky had turned a sickly green color, and the few wispy white clouds that had drifted across the half-hidden sun earlier had turned a deep inky black color. Even as everyone watched, more clouds started appearing and congregating in a huge mass, soon filling the whole sky over Tohea City and the rest of the islands. The center-most clouds started whirling around in a circle, and the rest of the mass soon followed suit. Even still, the cloud mass was thickening. Suddenly, a giant black hole opened up in the middle of the cloud mass; obviously it was a vortex of sorts. Bright green fireballs started falling from it almost like hail, but not as common as the element. A rather large one suddenly came very near where you stood, falling into a nearby park. Others fell at further distances; what in Arceus were these things? By how half of the city's population was trying to clamber indoors, evidently many people didn't want to find out. Even the professor and bodyguards (the former yelling, "Come back later when this stops! I need you!") were taking cover inside the building. Bunch of cowards. But were you? Only one way to find out. |

Manuel followed the man, mostly ignoring his babbling as he looked up into the sky. He noticed dark clouds looming about and blinked confusedly... only a little while ago had it been bright and sunny. He shrugged as he followed the man to a building which was guarded by two men with guns. All of a sudden he heard Aix say dramatically "Oh... My... God..." and immediately Manuel looked back up into the sky as the clouds now loomed in green. He blinked, he'd never seen green clouds, never imagined it. Eventually, everything was covered and Manuel's jaw dropped as he turned to Kitty and Dini briefly before looking back up. Soon enough green fireballs started falling from the sky as the clouds twisted into a dark vortex of doom. He noticed as one of the meteoric fireballs struck the earth near them, in a park. He turned to say something to Aix only to realize he'd run into the building like the coward he was. "Kitty, let's go check it out." He said as he looked at her, obviously intrigued by the falling fireballs. He smiled and looked at Dini for a moment as the little Abra started to glow blue, having read Manuel's thoughts and already concentrating on getting them all to the park. Manuel held his hand out to Kitty, wondering if she would want to go with him as he too was enveloped in the blue aura that Dini had forged to teleport them. |

Kitty was ignoring Aix's words herself but when she heard him say "Oh...my...God..." she looked up in the sky and saw the unusual green clouds. When she saw a green ball of energy land in the park she turned to look at Manuel about to say that she was going to check that out and ask if he wanted to go when she noticed that Dini was glowing blue as was Manuel who was holding his hand out to her. Kitty made sure that Speedy was still on her shoulder because he had also looked up in the sky just like Kitty did. Pasaer had moved closer to her. His fur standing on end. Kitty smiled at Manuel and took his hand. "Lets check that out," she said. She had noticed that Aix, being the coward that he was, had went in hiding as soon as things began to happen. She was going to see what this is all about. Maybe something new has happen. But the question is, is the thing that is happening a good thing or a bad thing she thought to herself after she took Manuel's hand and waited for Dini to teleport them to the park since that is closer to where they where at. |

Dini's eyes widened a little as your whole group was teleported from his efforts to the park. When you got there, you found that the scene hadn't changed at all; the only difference was that there were few people and Pokémon around. Those that were Fanning out and searching the park, it was only a few moments before your little group found the crash site of the fireball. There was a long, deep gouge in the dirt where the fireball must have contacted the earth. At the edges of this gouge were regular tongues of flame starting to lick at the grass and flowers around the hole. Soon the fire would spread if it wasn't put out in time. Where the fireball should be at the end of the gouge...there was nothing? While all of you stood there puzzled, the air suddenly started rippling around you as some sort of weird hissing filled the air...it was almost like laughter. The strange disturbance stopped after a moment, at least until Dini and Speedy both walked/hopped a ways from their trainers. Their eyes were eerily blank, and they were staring at the humans with utmost loathing. "Tail..." "Bra...." Dini's fists lit up with Firepunch, and Speedy's beak started glowing slightly for a Peck attack. Grinning wickedly, they fanned out around their human trainers, their eyes narrowed, calculating. Prepare for your doom, mortals, Dini drawled lazily into your minds. Death is painless for those who don't resist. To reason or to run? That would depend on the both of you. (Right...*coughs* Going to put up sprites for these things soon? Like ":...." for example) Edited by DDXD001, Oct 1 2008, 02:45 PM.

Having appeared at the desired destination Manuel looked around in order to analyze the perimeter. The only thing that seemed odd was that the fireball seemed to have doused itself. He sighed, finding it kind of depressing that they'd come all this way just to see nothing. Bt soon enough a faint hissing noise started to fill his ears and he instinctively walked closer to Kitty as Dini and Speedy seemed to move about, eventually leaving the hissing to stop. At that point Manuel looked at Dini and noticed something strange, when he looked at Speedy the same 'stange' energy was eminating from him. Soon enough, Dini started lighting up an apparently new attack, a Fire Punch. "Dini, when did you learn Fire Punch?" He questioned, knowing that his Abra's egg move was Ice Punch, it seemed a bit odd that he knew Fire Punch aswell. Eventually, Manuel could hear a dull, serious sound in his mind as he stood ahead of Kitty defensively. "Kitty, stay back." He stated as he moved his hand near a ball on his belt. What if... what if that humming caused it? Or that weird fireball? What if.. what if I bring out another Pokémon and the same event happens? What if I end up having to battle Dini? Manuel thought to himself as his fingers twitched around the ball he was now going in to grasp. It's a risk... I'm willing to take. He said before saying it aloud, and quickly grasping one of his pokeballs and throwing it out ahead of him where it erupted into light and formed his Pokémon. "Malifest, use Hypnosis on Dini and Speedy! Also try to constrict the two of them with your tongue while using Lick!" He ordered, praying that Malifest wouldn't be subdued to whatever had effected Dini. In the case of that event happening though, he hurriedly reached for more pokeballs on his belt. With his left hand he coiled his fingers around the ball of the strongest Pokémon on his team, Orion. With his right his fingers tapped over the two female Pokémon of his team's pokeballs: Ari and Flame, his Igglybuff and Vulpix. "Kitty, try recalling Speedy. I know that Dini will probably just redirect the pokeball from my hand if I try to recall him, so it's not worth it currently." He stated as he looked straight ahead, through malifest's spiritual body. |

Kitty soon realized that they had made it to their destination. She was wondering what happened when she suddenly saw Speedy acting weird as was Dini. She down at Pasaer and saw that he was still acting like his normal self. If that is the case then how come Speedy is affected by whatever is causing him to act this way. She then heard Dini's voice in her head. She was shock because she knew that isn't the way that Dini is meant to act. She has seen first hand that he cares for his trainer Manuel so the only explantion is that whatever was in the fireball was controling both Dini and Speedy. She noticed from the corner of her eye that before Speedy and Dini began to act like this that Manuel moved closer to her. She was grateful for that. She also noticed that when Dini said those serious words that Manuel moved to stand in front of her defensively. "Kitty stay back." She heard him say. She nodded but she didn't stay completely behind him because she wanted to help. She then heard Manuel say to her after he called out his Malifest and gave him his commands, "Kitty, try recalling Speedy. I know that Dini will probably just redirect the pokeball from my hand if I try to recall him, so it's not worth it currently." "Okay I'll try hopefully it will work," Kitty said. She then got Speedy's Pokeball in her hand and said, "Speedy return." She kept Pasaer close because she wasn't sure if whatever effected Dini and Speedy will effect Pasaer or for that matter Malifest. She waited to see if she was able to recall Speedy back into his Pokeball. I hope Dini won't do that to Speedy's Pokeball like Manuel said he was sure Dini will do if he used his she thought to herself. |

(If I get names wrong I'm sorry.) Malifest tried to make eye contact with Dini and and Speedy and focused on putting them to sleep. Dini tried it's hardest to block it but couldn't and fell asleep and curled up in a ball. Speedy on the other hand was able to not make eye contact and was still awake. Malifest then moved in to warp around the Abra with Lick and hold it long enough so that it could be recalled. Kitty, who at this time was more concerned with returning her Speedy, brought out its pokeball and tried to recall it. A flash of red came out of the ball and wrapped around the little bird. It was then sucked up into the ball and recovered. The only threat now was whatever came from the fireball. Malifest was still holding Dini waiting for it to be returned. ![]() 43/43:energy 90%/100% Verses ![]() 30/39:energy 100%/100% Edited by Logar99, Oct 10 2008, 05:39 PM.

[[=\ You need to be a bit more descriptive when doing refs. Otherwise it's fine ^^ Thank You.]] Manuel watched as Dini was put to sleep by Malifest's hypnosis, aswell as Speedy's being wrapped in his tongue and he sighed. "Thank Arceus." He sighed as he put out one pokeball, recalling the now sleeping Dini before Malifest started to float around him. Malifest started smiling and Manuel smirked aswell before he remembered what they'd come for in the first place. "Kitty, Malifest, Pasaer, we arn't done yet." He said as Malifest stopped in his tracks and nodded his ghostly head/body. Manuel then became serious as his face tightened and he looked at where the dent in he ground was. "We know that the fireball landed here, and I also know that fire doesn't turn green, it fades from red to blue and then further on to white, but never green." He stated. "Show yourself," Manuel stated as his hand now passed over Ari's pokeball. "Or I'll torture you out." He stated, releasing Ari from her pokeball. "Ari, let's give whatever this was fifteen second to show itself, if it doesn't, use Perish Song." He stated, holding Malifest's pokeball in his right hand, and Ari's in his left as he looked at Kitty. "Dini was controlled by something, you know that right? So was Speedy. If I'm right, it was more than likely a psychic Pokémon, though I may be wrong seeing as Dini should've been able to reject any psychic intrusions." He stated, knowing full well that it could've been Speedy who was under control, and Dini had used Trace to pick up on it, but he said nothing to Kitty. |

Kitty sigh with relief when Speedy was returne to his Pokeball. She wasn't sure what could have happened to cause him to act this way. She then listen to Manuel's words. "Yes, I know that because I know he wouldn't say something like that on his own. I know you what your not saying either. Speedy was controlled by something which caused Dini's ability Trace to kick in and got caught as well. I'm sorry for that Manuel," she said softly. Looking at Speedy's Pokeball when she said that. But she meant the words. "If Speedy hadn't been out of his Pokeball at that time then Dini wouldn't have been like that," she added. She then saw that Manuel called out Ari after talking to Malifest and was talking to whatever took control of Speedy and Dini. "Pasaer be prepared for anything that could come out of that hole. It seems that it wasn't able to control you, but you should still be careful just the same. I'll have to call you back into your ball if Perish Song is used so that it won't effect you like it could with that other thing whatever it is that is there," she said to her Houndour. |

More of the weird, hissing laughter ("Cth...cth...") filled the air, and suddenly the air directly in front of you started shimmering strangely. There was definitely a disturbance of some sort there, and finally something materialized. The said eight-foot-tall something looked as though it had jumped out of the newest blockbuster horror film or your worst nightmare; part squid, part evil ET, and part the uber-Dracula Van Helsing bat form, this thing definitely hit the description of "ugly". It's midnight-blue body just seemed to radiate evil. :... ? Lv. 12 The thing for the most part was unmoving, but the tentacle-like things around its mouth were rippling a little as the rasping laughter continued. Obviously this thing must have a mouth of some sort, more than likely concealed by the said tentacles. But how could this thing control Pokémon? Considering that you knew nothing about it, you had no clue about its type(s), weaknesses, strengths, and so forth. Either way, the thing had shown itself before Ari's Perish Song, so the attack was on standby for now. Whether the thing had actually complied to your demands or just simply made itself visible was beyond you. Growling now, the thing's mouth tentacles seemed to extend, almost snake towards Pasaer, smoothly entwining around the dog's legs. Yelping, the puppy's mouth was immediately silenced as the thing wrapped a tentacle around the noisy extension of the dog. Instantly the tentacles seemed to vanish, although the air around where they used to be rippled now and again as they made small, controlled movements. As you watched, the thing seemed to be slowly sucking the dog dry through some sort of parasitic force, both physically and mentally; Pasaer's tongue was lolling out a little, he was barely conscious, and his body seemed to start wasting away. All in all, the scene was disgusting. To sum up the situation? A giant alien parasitic thing from outer space had shown up and started to seemingly suck Pokémon dry both physically and mentally for its own nourishment. Soon Pasaer would be an empty shell, and I'm sure you lot can do better than just simply stand here and watch with horror and disgust at the event. Even the young Houndour's whimpering was growing weaker.... Lv. 7 32/39 95%(is being drained) Lv. 7 39/39 100%VS :... ? Lv. 12 47/47 97%

Manuel watched astounded as the eight-foot tall beast came from seemingly nowhere. His eyes widened as he looked at not only the appearance of the monster, but also the height at which it stood, even he hadn't heard of a Pokémon who stood that tall besides legendary Pokémon and a few select dragon-types. "There's no way..." he started to say as he looked at the monster, watching the tentacles that covered its mouth as they seemed to ripple a little. He raised his wrist some, trying to find SOME information about the grotesque monstrosity. "No Information Located." The Poketech said as it released a thin red beam towards the beast, scanning its appearance, then leaving Manuel with nothing. Manuel cursed under his breath, "Damn," before watching the being wrap its tentacles around Pasaer. Again he cursed, this time a bit more foully, but he was sure that it wasn't heard by anyone. But at that time, he had to help. "Ari, hurry and use Defense Curl combined with Roll Out to get Pasaer out from that monster's grip! When you make contact with it, focus your ability and try to infatuate it, if that doesn't work just use Charm from as close-up as you can!" He ordered, starting to look at the squid-like beast more closely. It's got tentacles over its mouth, and claw-like hands. He thought as he scanned the beast with his own eyes, trying to maybe come up with some idea of what it might be. It also has those wings on its back, He continued to think. That means... for sure it's a Water-Type, no doubt in my mind, those tentacles seem to work like those of a squid or just a Tentacool's. There is also that sort of ability its using to suck Pasaer's energy like a parasite, or... a... VAMPIRE!! That means its possibly a Water/Bug type, or a Water/Dark type. He deduced, smirking, starting to think of what Pokémon fit either description. "Let's see, Masquerain is a Water/Bug type." He thought and said at the same time (insert thought bubble here) --> :...(Pop thought bubble) "No, that's not it... Crawdaunt is a Water/Dark type." He continued, coming up with whatever might work. (Insert another thought bubble) --> :..."Definately Not" He said soon after as he pondered. "Well for now it doesn't matter. What I know is Water-types are weak against Grass-Type attacks, even if they come from non grass-type Pokémon." He said as he grabbed a pokeball off his belt and looked over to Malifest. "Flame, let's go. Use Energy Ball, and fuse it with Ember!" He ordered as he thrust his hand outwards, releasing his Vulpix as she came out and immediately did as Manuel had shown her to do previous, collect energy within her mouth for Energy Ball and then use the 'inner-fire' to fuse Ember with the energy in order to produce an attack they had been hoping to learn properly; Fire Blast! "Come on Flame, we should be about half-way to learning the attack, if we can just perfect it, there's no way we can lose this battle." He cheered. Flame nodded and thought to herself; I can't lose, not again. Not again, especially not against another Water-type. She thought, reffering to the Tentacool that they'd lost to only a while ago. With that, she continued to focus as passion to not fail Manuel fueled her desire to win this match, and perfect Fire Blast. Manuel then looked over at his other Pokémon, Malifest, and coughed slightly. "Malifest, thank you for helping us earlier, but I still need your help now. I need you to use three attacks at once for me. First, use Lick to try and paralyze it, make sure to avoid contact with Ari, Pasaer, or Flame's attacks when the time comes. Then, I want you to use a combination of Mean Look and Hypnosis so that we can make sure this monster can't run away." He stated, recieving a nod from Malifest as he then looked back over to Ari. "ARI!" He called out, holding her pokeball in his hand as he put Flame's bakc on his belt, "After you are done with your commands, return to your pokeball!" He ordered knowing full well that Ari, despite how tough she was, didn't stand a chance to this monster when it came to size, unless she EVOLVED miraculously** it would be highly unlikely that she'd be able to defeat her opponent. Holding out Ari's pokeball, he used his free hand in order to grasp the pokeballs of his three remaining pokeballs, hoping to possibly find some water so that he could release his Finneon. With that, he was done, but still he kept his eyes open for water, and possibly more of these beasts. He looked over at Kitty and smiled; "Don't worry, Pasaer's gonna be safe." He said, and then looked on at the battle. [[**NOTE: Yes, I have talked to Seenter about this. Ari IS ready to evolve ^^]] |

Kitty's eyes widen when she saw this tall thing come what seemed out of no where. She then gasped in fear for Pasaer when he was grabbed by this things tentacles on its mouth and watch as Pasaer slowly began to look drain. "No, Pasaer," she cried, "Terai and Shalicaes come out I'll need your help in saving Pasaer." Kitty threw the two Pokeballs that held Terai and Shalicaes in them. She wasn't sure how much the two of them will do against this thing but she was going to give it a try. She heard what Manuel commanded his Pokémon to do and agreed with it. "Terai do the same as Ari and use Charm on that thing. We've got to free Pasaer. If you can get close enough without getting caught as well use Thunder Fang on that creature. Shalicaes just watch for an opening and once you see that Pasaer is free from that thing's grip use Sand Attack to block it's view the best that you can then dive into it's side with a Tackle attack do your best to avoid getting caught as well," she said. She got out Pasaer's Pokeball ready to use it if all else fells so that she can call Pasaer back and out of that thing's grip. |

(Hands Shadow the "confusion of the year" award. I'm also setting Flame at 50% for Fire Blast, unless I'm wrong.) Ari instantly curled into a ball and upped her defense, getting ready to play the imitation of a bowling ball. Then she pushed off with Rollout, her skin hardening as she rolled towards the huge beast. As the monster had been distracted with making Pasaer a potential meal, it didn't even think about dodging until it was too late. Slamming into the monster, Pasaer fell out of its tentacles as the beast rounded on your little pink balloon. Sadly, the thing didn't seem to respond to "love" because of its obviously sadistic nature and lack of a gender. Therefore, Ari decided to play on what she had left; teaming up with Kitty's Snubbull, both of them used Charm to lower the monster's attack a few points. This is when Flame stepped up to the plate. Opening her mouth, she sent a combination of Energy Ball and Ember forward at once, exploding upon contact on the creature. While the combination of attacks had been rather explosive, they hadn't formed into the five-pointed star that a Fire Blast usually took the form of. In fact, the explosion itself had been rather...wimpy. But you still had time to work on it. Malifest then phased forward and attempted to Lick the thing; however the creature had finally gained a bit of a brain and grabbed the Gastly with its tentacle; before the ghost could react, the thing started using Absorb by slowly draining the ghost with green energy. This also left your ghost open to use Mean Look and Hypnosis, however; Not only could the beast not escape, but it suddenly started letting off rumbling snores. Lucky you! As the monster was sleeping, Terai used Thunder Fang and caused a hefty amount of damage despite her lower level. Shalicaes then used a combo of Sand-Attack and Tackle on the thing with little resistance. This little battle was going quite well with all of your teamwork "Jiggly!" she chirped, reaching down and finding a small black marker forgotten on the ground as she did so. In fact, she was about to sing before she thought better about it and decided to just stay in-tune with the battle. As for water? Well, there were some ruptured water mains in the city, but none of them were near you, sadly. I highly doubt you'll want to take this battle to the sewers either.
