Janine looked at you and laughed as you both tucked into your dinner. "Anyone COULD have saved me, but it was you whom performed the action of doing so." She said. She was getting posher by the second. "They may have saw a girl dressed in poor clothes and saw that there was no reward from it maybe?" "But you didn't, you didn't do it for a reward." (Cough) She smiled sweetly and continued eating her pigeon and you looked at your plate. So after all this you were going to steal? The very power you had got your Growlithe from and once worked for, was the very one you were now going against. Oh how fate turns. This girl whom had just given you a free Pokémon and who knew what else she would've given you, is the one you're going to steal from? Then again who am I to judge for theft? You finished your dinner and she led you upstairs as the servants came out to clear the table and wash up. She led you back past the door. In front of the door was a wide marble staircase that opened out at the bottom. If you were going to steal, you'd need a quick get away route and need to know some of the finer details of the house. There was a room on either side of the staircase leading to what you could only imagine. To the other side of the front door was almost a living room with a big pine bookshelf, many comfy chairs and a big tv in the center of the wall furthest from you. Janine led you up the stairs, you counted them all, there was 52. What an odd number. She led you off to the right side of the stairs. You passed 5 rooms on your way down the corridor. 3 on your left and 2 on your right. She finally took you down a left turn where there two rooms facing each other. "This is your room," she said pointing to the room on the left and "this" she said pointing to the room on the right, "is the study." Well how conveniant for you! "I'll see you tomorrow Ryan I'm off to bed, if anything happens in the night give one of the servants a shout and they'll be here in a second." She walked off and you entered your room. You flung your stuff near your bed ready to grab and get away. You decided it would be best to sleep for a few hours until everyone was asleep. Well now it was midnight. And your wake up call? A very helpful person smashing through your window! (I'll do Abs' later but you can still reply to this.) |

Giving a nervous smile at Janine for her comments on him helping her without expecting reward, he decided it was time to eat. Hey, it was a good meal, and he didn't want to end up being too sick with himself to eat it, which could also offend the very generous girl. Swallowing hard, he felt like his throat was dry, and he took a sip of water, although it didn't seem to help at all. Eating quickly so that way he could get away from the girl, he wondered if he he'd actually be able to go through with stealing from her. While she was rich and probably had a huge amount of Pokémon, she was being very nice to him, and it wouldn't be right to steal from her. Feeling as if his stomach was being shred from the inside, Ryan pushed his plate away, shaking his head and holding his stomach. "That was a very good meal, really, but I seem to have lost my appetite. But I would like to thank you and your chefs, they really are good at their job. Perhaps we should be on our way?" Ryan tried to smile at her, though he found it difficult as he got up from the table, which she did as well. Following her, he looked around, deciding that it'd be best to know some details of the house should he need a quick get away. Granted, he was now thinking of canceling the whole plan, but decided that no, he really wanted some more Pokémon. Besides, obviously this girl's father was rich, although now that he thought about it, she didn't say anything about a mother. More guilt tore at him as he figured that she had probably died somehow, leaving her with only a father who was obviously gone for long periods of time. Turning right of the stairs once they reached the top, he walked down a long corridor that had five rooms, before turning down yet another hall on the left. Listening to Janine, he couldn't believe how luck had gone in his favor, placing him right across from the study. As a matter of fact, it was very lucky, too lucky as far as he was concerned, and he began to wonder if this was a test. Janine had told the servant to go up to the study and fetch the Pokémon, giving away the exact location of where they were kept. On top of that, she also placed him in a room right across from the same location, making it perfect for him to be able to go in and take something. Nodding, he looked at Janine warmly and bowed before her, trying to show his gratitude, no matter what his plans for the night may be. "Thank you Janine. Again, this was so kind of you, and I truly do appreciate it. Have a good night." Smiling, he watched her walk away before he turned and went into the room she had placed him in, thinking more. Finally reaching a decision, Ryan decided that it was much too risky to actually go into the study and take something. It seemed to him that this was indeed a test, probably Janine seeing just how loyal he was to her. Shaking his head, he huffed, getting angry at the sense of morality and guilt biting at him and telling him not to do it. Why couldn't he just have a free conscious like every other criminal out there, though he wasn't a criminal yet. Although technically, planning a crime is a crime itself, so maybe he actually was a criminal, though that just made his head hurt. Closing his eyes, Ryan decided that it wouldn't hurt to go into the study and take a look around later. It's not like he would be stupid enough to just go in and start taking whatever he saw, as there were precautions to take. Of course one of the first defenses of the girl's may be to have a Pokémon or two protect the other Pokémon. So he'd have to be sure to use Pokémon of his own to help him, and if he was caught battling, he could just say that he was attacked when he walked in there. Actually he could probably say he saw them and wanted to battle, and planned on taking them to the Pokémon Center after. Nodding his head, Ryan figured it out and made sure to remember to use Growlithe to sniff anything out. Being trained by the police would probably prove useful again in being able to find any traps or anything as well. Laying down in the bed, Ryan knew he'd need some sleep first, though he hoped he'd wake up before Janine did. If he didn't, then he wouldn't be able to take anything if he decided he waned to after all, unless he stayed another night. Dreams swept Ryan up, and he saw himself in the study, taking Pokémon, sending off alarms and getting caught. Janine obviously was very upset about this, and she actually pushed him, sending him through the window which shattered. No wait, Ryan actually heard the window shatter, and he bolted up in bed, realizing someone just broke into his room. But he didn't hear any sirens, which probably mean that the house wasn't secured with an alarm system. "Who are you?" he called out, reaching for the clothes he had left on the floor, leaving on only boxers. Grabbing Lapis' Pokeball, he was ready to do battle with whoever it was that decided to come into his room. Or rather, the room that had been given to him to use for the night. Either way, he had no intention of letting anyone get by him and do whatever they wanted, which was probably to steal. Wait, wasn't he planning on stealing from here as well? It didn't matter, he wasn't going to let this person who probably didn't earn the stuff that they would steal. Did Ryan seriously just tell himself that, and did he honestly think that robbery was something someone earned to do? Maybe he really was going to wind up a criminal, though of course he'd only do some petty theft. Right? He sure has changed, he didn't know what he would do right now as a matter of fact. What an odd turn of things for him! |

Alicia grinned as she crawled in the window, hoping no one heard her break the window, but wasn’t to terribly worried, if they did and tried to stop her she would just have Shuppet kill them or something. She shrugged as she got in, brushing off the glass that got on her. She looked around, noticing the guy in the middle, standing only in boxers, and smirked faintly, making sure to hide it in the darkness. “Why, I am but a poor weak trainer trying to get by in a rough and sad existence.” She said, turning on her own charismatic charm, her eyes going wide, little pools of water forming at the bottoms of them, almost as if she were about to cry. “I just needed some money, my family is all getting sick, my father died yesterday, and my mom is in the hospital with the same thing. The doctors told me they won’t help me unless I get money…..” She hesitated a minute, turning her head just enough so the light from the moon would reflect on the single tear she let roll down her cheek. She brushed it absentmindedly and looked at the boy for a second, before clasping her hands behind her back as if in a compliant manner, then looked down at the ground, before mumbling silently, “I’m sorry for waking you, that was not my intention, I just want to save my family, my poor 3 brothers, my unfortunate 5 sisters, their all going to d….d….die.” and with the last word Alicia starts acting as if she is crying, turning her back on the boy and putting her face in her hands. She cried for a few more seconds, before stopping herself, silently spitting in her palm a few times and rubbing the saliva on her face to make it appear as if she had really been crying, and then sniffled loudly. “Well, I guess I’ll be out of your hair, I’ll just go and hopefully find another house that can give me the money to save my family,” She said and a look as forlorn as any could ever be crossed her face as she looked at the boy, despair evident. She turned to leave, not moving to fast in case the boy asked her to stay. |

Eyes on the Shuppet, Ryan's hand gripped Lapis' Pokeball tighter, and he was almost wishing that he could just let her out. However that probably wouldn't prove to be very beneficial, since that might only make an already upset girl cry more. Besides, he had to let her tell him her little story of why she was breaking into the house, and besides, for all she knew, he owned the house. Taking that into advantage, he put a finger up to stop her from leaving, and making sure he had her full attention. Quickly going to the door of his room, he pressed an ear against it, listening for any noises of anybody coming. Although he didn't think he heard anything, that didn't necessarily mean nobody was coming, and so he knew that if he wanted to help her he'd have to work quickly. "Alright, my father is out of town on business, which is good for you. There still are servants here though, and I don't want them to find out that you broke in here. While I would normally be able to just take you wherever I wanted without getting questioned..." Ryan waved his hand towards this girl. "Your attire deems to be appropriate for the work that you are trying to do right now. Normally I'd take that into consideration and think that you were playing me for a fool, but I trust that you're not. If you are you'll find out just how much power I have here." Okay, so Ryan might not actually be a resident of the fine house that they were both currently in. However, as Janine had said, all he had to do was call out for a servant and one would be there in a jiffy. If this girl ended up being deceitful and tried to do anything to him while they were taking Pokémon, then he'd call for one. Granted, he wasn't sure if he really believed this story, but he couldn't prove it to be false either, and therefore wouldn't question her any further. Tilting his head a bit, Ryan looked at the girl some more, trying to figure out what she was capable of. Seeing as how she had managed to climb the house and break through his window without harming herself, Ryan guessed that she was a lot more capable than she was letting on. But again, he had to be fair, and so without proof of her lying, he figured that he'd help her and let her help him, without her realizing it of course. "When we go out the door, there's another room right across the hall which leads to the study. My father stores Pokémon there, and we'll take some and then be on our way out, making sure not to make too much noise. I'll make sure you get out okay, and then I'll lead you off of our property so that way I know you're safe. The worst case scenario is that one of my servants sees us, in which case I'll just tell them that you threw a pebble at my window and it broke. Hopefully they'll believe me, and even if they don't, who are they to question me or anything I say?" Ryan was actually liking the whole rich son part. Of course he'd have to make sure Janine didn't think he left of his own accord, or else he'd have no chance at coming here again. "Look, I want you to go into the room first, I want to just clean some things up in here, and then I'll be right there. If you see a Growlithe come in, don't worry, it's mine. Sometimes my father sets things up in his study as traps, and I want to make sure that we don't trip anything. What do you say? You with me?" |

Alicia nodded slowly, facing the ground as she shuffled her way towards the door. “Are you sure this is ok?” She asked quietly, motioning Shuppet towards her, a plan already formulating. She shrugged and looked at shuppet and nodded, hoping that the training in burglary she had put him through would work. “Ok shuppet, you know what to do, I want you to peak into the hall, if there’s no one there then I want you to check out the room across the hall. Check for anything resembling a trap and follow it back to its source, once you find the source disable it quickly and efficiently, I won’t allow any incompetence on this, this could very easily put us ahead of the game, and could get you some very nice treats if you succeed.” She whispered quietly to her Shuppet. When shuppet headed out she moved into the shadow and looked around. The room was definitely nice, but didn’t have the lived in feeling, giving her the impression that the guy in front of her wasn’t who he said he was, either that or he had been gone for a long time. Either way she felt that he was a bit less then he put forward, but decided to keep her doubts to herself. She looked towards the boy and smiled tentatively “You have a Growlithe? I love growlithes, their so cute and cuddly, I love petting their soft fur, love playing with them. My mom used to have a growlithe when I was little, but it died of old age unfortunately.” She said, shuffling slowly towards the boy, wiping her tears off on her shirt. “Sorry about my earlier display, I’ve just had so much on my plate, so much stress. According to the doctors we need 15 thousand dollars to be able to get my dad healed. I’m hoping that I can get at least most of that while I am here.” She said, still looking at the ground. She moved closer to the boy and started to turn on a completely different charm. She draped herself over him, rubbing herself slowly on his back, “you know, your kind of cute,” she said to him, and rubbed his shoulders slowly. “Maybe this wasn’t as much of a bad idea as I thought it would be, at first I was just here to try to help out my family, but it appears destiny has intervened and brought me someone who is gorgeous and smart,” she said, still acting meek and shy, but with a slightly more voluptuous undertone. “Now, all we need to do is wait for shuppet to return.” |

Watching this girl look around the room, Ryan couldn't help but realize that he forgot to ask Janine where her room was. For all he knew, she was right around the corner in the corridor, in which case they'd have to be quiet when they left. He thought about just telling this mysterious person the truth of who he was and all, but then he figured that she'd just try to get rid of him. Looking at her outfit, he thought that while he had meant just leave him and tell him to stay away, she could actually probably dispose of him. Shivering, he looked away from her and instead towards the window, which was broken, glass everywhere. Now Ryan realized he wouldn't have to make the room look more like a mess really, since he had thrown the sheets back in a hurry to get out of the bed. Between the window and his apparent hurry to get out of the bed, Janine and the police will probably think that someone had subdued him quickly and then kidnapped him. Of course he would like to leave a ransom note so that they would really believe that, but he didn't think he'd be able to. Unless he tied it in with her need for money, which could work actually, and then he could go along with her and she'd never have to know that he wasn't the actual son of the guy who owned this place. Smiling, he turned towards her and was about to tell her all about his leaving a note so she could get money, only to find her throwing herself at him. Eyes wide, Ryan looked around, trying to figure out what was going on, and finally it clicked in his brain. She was going to use sex appeal in order to get more than just Pokémon, which she obviously didn't think she could sell. Well if she really needed ten grand, he understood why she thought that, as he would have thought the same thing. Licking his lips, he couldn't help but feel excited as the girl rubbed up against him, and he tried to force himself to calm. Of course that didn't work, and Ryan swallowed hard and began to gently push her off of him so he could explain his plan. "Look, I don't know where my dad keeps any money in this house, or if he does actually. It could all be in his bank, in which case I know I can't get you the money right now. But I don't want your family to die because the doctors are evil and won't do what they have to first. So what I'm going to do is leave a ransom note and I'll just go along with you until you get the money. I know that you might think that's really weird, but that's all I can think of to help get you the money." Smiling gently, he hoped that this would work, although if the story was too far fetched and she didn't believe it, he'd just tell her the truth. Then he could leave a ransom note anyways, since Janine would probably feel semi responsible for not guarding her guest better. Ryan could wind up with a large sum of money after all of this, as well as keep Janine as a friend should he need her again. ((OOC: Abs, respond to this post, and at the end say something about seeing if Shuppet is done. Request a ref from Shock, and he can ref if Shuppet found anything and what not and then we can continue on our way accordingly.)) |

Alicia looked suspiciously at the guy, who in their right mind would accept the position of easy target and simply lie back as he was held hostage? She had her doubts about this guy, and they were starting to mount, but she still held her opinion to herself, but decided to keep an eye on him, and checked to make sure her defenses were in place in case she needed to act fast. She had her Pokémon, sure, but as a last resort she had a set of 12 poisoned daggers hidden in various places on her body. None of the poison was deadly, it either paralyzed or put one to sleep, but she found she rarely needed them, but they were always there just in case. She moved away from him and started wondering where her Shuppet was, her agitation over taking this long was starting to show on her, her shy meak demeanor was slipped for a second as she imagined a noise in the corner, and out flew a dagger, sticking an inch and a half deep into the wooden wall, a barely audible thunk sounding. Alicia sighed and moved over, pulling the stuck dagger out with almost no effort, before sliding it back in its sheath behind her back, and looked at the guy, “Sorry about your wall, i thought I heard a noise,” she said and turned back towards the door, willing Shuppet to come in with good news. |

Shuppet floated away from his trainer and began to scout the room opposite. It all seemed quiet and nothing there. Shuppet looked in the darkest of courners and yet found nothing, but this room was meant to be home to many Pokeballs! Shuppet of course didn't know that but there was something about the room he sensed. There were no Pokémon, he'd made sure of that. But what was it? There were many paintings in this room above all else. One of a man standing in the rain, one of abstract shapes and one of a rather sunny day at the beach. But there was something about that last painting that stopped Shuppet. The sun on the picture was protruding slightly. Becoming coporeal, Shuppet pushed the button with his head. The effect was immediate, that room, and that room alone began to shake and a wall began to fall away revealing a staircase. Shuppet could have easily have passed through that wall but it never occured to him that there could be a secret structure or passageway or anything behind it. He ventured forward down the staircase and saw shelves. But on these shelves were the red and white spherical objects that you housed your Pokémon inside. Of course you didn't realise this until Shuppet came to find you and lead you down the stairs. Unfortunately, there were only 3 balls on the shelves, and there were quite a few shelves. Maybe the numbers were to put you off track a bit? Now you were in the room but you could hear fast approaching footsteps, you needed to act fast, in the corner you could also see a small amount of money but it was very menial. You could take it if you want but these could be rare Pokémon worth stealing here! You had about 30 seconds now, if I were you i'd hurry up now! (Plot done, I will just say your next ref will be your Alternia teleport.) Edited by Shockwave, Jan 27 2009, 12:50 PM.

At Alicia's sudden movement, Ryan's head snapped towards her and he saw a knife fly through the air and embed itself into the wall. Swallowing a lump that had grown in his throat, Ryan couldn't help but feel that this girl was obviously way more than she was letting on. However, before he could do anything, he felt the room across the hall start to shake, and looking at Alicia, he sprinted towards it. Once they got through to the little secret place inside, Ryan could hear footsteps quickly approaching, and he knew they'd have to act fast. Quickly, Ryan pushed Alicia towards the money, since that's what she was clearly trying to get ahold of, while Ryan plucked the three Pokeballs off the shelves. Now he had to figure out a way to escape from not only whomever was approaching, but also from Alicia. The last thing he needed was her to figure out that he wasn't really the son of the man who owned this house, which would make him disposable. He looked around the room, trying to find a place to hide, though he wasn't sure he could get away with that. Well, he'd be able to if they found Alicia and took her before she could point him out to the rest of them. But then he could always just tell whoever was coming that she had taken him hostage with that knife of hers. Yes, things should go very well for him. |

So you were now about to turn on the person who wanted nothing more than to make sure her family were healthy and well. I have to say that is pretty heartless even under the circumstances. Anyway you had ran into the room in attempt to outrun Alicia to the room that Shuppet had uncovered and snatched the Pokeballs from the shelves. The foot steps were becoming clearer now, someone had heard the glass breaking! You quickly bent to scoop the money from the floor, just then Alicia appeared behind you, murder in her eyes. Suddenly something caught both your attention. "The study door's open and so is Ryan's!" Came the voice of the servant you knew as Sean. They were running in, all you next was an earth shattering explosion and muffled screams. You opened your eyes to see that the study had completely disappeared into the floors below, you could see a fire entering the room, but yet this fire didn't seem to burn anything it touched, because it wasn't a fire, it wasn't intended to burn. It was the legendary bird Moltres. The bird squawked and flew off into the sky and sent a flamethrower at a distant thing that was also flying. You couldn't see it clearly but it was obvious from its retaliation of a Thunderbolt what Pokémon it was, the legendary bird of Thunder Zapdos. You knew something was wrong for these Pokémon to be seen, let alone fighting. Now Zapdos had sent a Thunder towards Moltres who had swiftly evaded, unfortunately that meant that the attack continued going, straight for you and Alicia. Suddenly a green Pokémon with swords extending from it's elbows appeared and teleported off Alicia. That was all well and good but what were you to do? The attack would decimate half of the house if it hit and you were in the center of its firing line! Arceus was smiling down on you though (quite literally) and suddenly a figure of Clay appeared in front of you and clutched your hand and within a flash of light you were gone from Tohea. Claydol had saved you, but that was the last of your life in Tohea. You were never to be seen again. (Moving Time!) |
