Ariana flaps up into the air and hovers a few feet above the Voltorb. She looks down and growls menacingly at the Pokeball looking Pokémon. Voltorb starts powering up his sonic boom, sending out small waves of energy. Ariana decides this is what you meant by thrusting things and uses agility and moves around the Voltorb. Voltorb releases the attack, but misses by a hair as Ariana maneuvers out of his attack range. She quickly flies at the Voltorb and slams into him, her weight adding more damage to the attack, as well as flying into him from above. She hits and attempts a grin for an instant, but is quickly frozen as the static ability of the Voltorb sets in. Your Ariana flaps for a few feet before landing in a lump on the ground, trying to shake off the negative effects of the Paralysis. She struggles in vain as the Voltorb turns around and launches another Sonic boom, this one hitting head on. Well, that didn’t work to well; I hope you have a plan for healing your Pokémon or getting rid of the threat that is Voltorb. What’s your next move? :genderless Lv. 9 35/43 89% Lv. 7 19/39 85%(speed +2) (paralyzed) Edited by absesas, Jul 3 2008, 05:28 PM.

((I think Body Slam would have done more than 8 DMG)) I could have been quite pissed off right about then. That Voltorb just wiped out practically half of Ariana's strength with just a single attack. If she gets hit one more time with it, she's a goner! Damned Sonicboom... the attack is so ****ing stupid! But if I catch that Voltorb I'll be able to use it! But I can't let Ariana go out there by herself or else that Voltorb will floor her with that epic attack. I have to let Cole into the battle and make sure the Pokémon pokeball becomes mine. But first I have to think up of something that won't end up with my only two Pokémon's face crowning above the mud. "Alright, Cole, it's time to get in gear! Go out there and help Ariana beat the hell out of that uber Voltorb!" Cole mumbled something and loyally stepped in to aid Ariana. "Okay, you two, let's see some throttle! Ariana, use Agility and fly up into the air. Same goes for you, Cole, just without flying. Ariana will use Gust at the Voltorb to try and keep it from using Sonicboom, like you just saw. As she does that, Cole will thrust towards the Voltorb and attempt to Headbutt it while it's busy shielding it's eyes. If this doesn't work and the Voltorb tries to use Sonicboom, just change your course and work around him until he tires out from trying to hit you and then slam into him." I was getting desperate to get this battle over with. The registrations end by tomorrow and I have to be ready to wake up and sign in. If I could just get this guy's health down just enough, I'll be able to catch him and then finally rest my head for tomorrow. |

Obeying your commands, both Pokémon hoped on their way and into their attack formations. Ariana quickly shot up into the air and then began to flap its two little wings as powerful as it could. The wind didn't budge the voltorb much, but it was busy concentrating on pushing against the wind. Your second fase of action was already in play. As Cole began to dart quickly using agility around the the backside of the voltorb, and tackling into it hard with a headbutt. The voltorb rolled to a stop and then winced as it peared upwards at your Hoothoot. Once again, it began sending out slightly weakened sonicbooms. Trying to dodge them, your Hoothoot flapped its wings panicly, dodging two of the three sonic booms, but sadly being knocked down by one. Eevee, protecting its companion began to charge at Voltorb againwith its agility still in place, as it quickly charged towards it. Voltorb did the same. Both Pokémon clashing and flying back. :genderless Lv.9 19/43 65%Vs. Lv.7 13/39(Paralyzed) (speed +2) Lv.8 37/41 82%(speed +2) |

The exploding sensation in my stomach was keeping me from concentrating on the prize so I tried to neutralize it by wildly shaking my head. I had only a few moves left before I catch this Voltorb, so I'd better make them quick ones. Wait- If I get Cole to attack twice with Quick Attack, then I should be able to win this fight! No, no, I have to keep the attacks stabilized so I can catch the Voltorb properly. Plus with Eevee's Adaptability technique, his attack should double, thus giving me the use of my pokeball instead of the greatball if it hits. I figured out how I'll save this problem quick and easy: by sheer agility. "Ariana, please back out! I don't want you to get hurt any further. Okay, Cole, let's grind some speed into those mad engines! Use Agility and circle around the Voltorb by at least two meters off so you can easily dodge it's close-combat attacks and since it's Sonicboom only goes one way, it's just the same thing. Just keep dodging his attacks until he's so tired of trying to track you down that you just hit him in a blazing trail with Quick Attack. That damage it any further after that, I'll have this pokeball ready in hand." Just this last attempt. That Voltorb is suppose to be fast, but it can't compare to an Eevee at daredevil speed! God, the pokeball in my hands are going to fall out if I don't stop teetering. I coughed once and regained balance and waited for the next round to unfold. (Short post cuz I know that's how most of you refs like them :P ) |

Cole looked at you and blinked. What the hell was 2 meters? Was it a type of food? Man was he hungry! Maybe he could get a tasty snack after this battle he could have those special pellets in your bag and just eat them until he became a munchlax. His mouth began to drool for a moment or two before snapping back to reality. The voltorb seemed to be charging up some sort of attack. It looked like another Sonicboom. Cole noticed this and shot off around the Voltorb, making it loose concentration and become confused. Despite not knowing what 2 meters was, Cole kept a reasonable distance away from the living Pokeball. The Eevee continued to circle the Voltorb for several laps when finally with an even greater speed, rushed towards it with a quick attack. It caused the ball to roll several inches backwards. It was now on its last legs (or so to speak.) Now was the time for you to capture it. :genderless Lv. 9 2/43 61%

((I already said I had my pokeball in hand but oh well)) Another achievement due to cooperation and skill. Cole returned to my side, but his face was drooling as if he was thinking about a t-bone steak. I shrugged the notion off my shoulders and threw my pokeball at the pokeball Pokémon. It was everywhere near weak so the problem was heavily solved. And since I still caught it, both Ariana and Eevee should get their fix of knowledge due to the battle. The pokeball pinged out a third ring and faltered for a few seconds until I knew it was caught. I picked up the pokeball and placed it back inside my bag. Boy, This guy's going to be pretty useful in the tournament. My plan for the last hours of the day were to go back into the Pokémon center and heal my Pokémon and then head out for the Pokémart to purchase a basic potion and a super potion. After that, I'll rent out a room at the center and register for the big day. Then, at long last, I'll sleep on a bed and doze off. So much to do and so little time. [So, from what I see, I caught 1 level 9 voltorb, loss 1 pokeball, and gained some exp. Anyone care to tell me whether I can add this in?] Edited by Lurk, Jul 4 2008, 04:00 PM.

Your new Pokémon would surely come in handy for the tournament, it should do well in it! Although, i wouldn't count your eggs just yet. I mean ofcourse now you had a good chance but, you wern't going to beat me. Anyway, rest was your best remody right now. And ofcourse, your Pokémons. And after about 10 minutes of walking, you were there. At the famous red roofed building. It was getting late on in the day now, and there was few people in there. This gave you enough time to scoot on over to Nurse Joy, hand her your Pokémon, spend a few minutes looking around at posters, and then take your Pokémon back. On the wall was the poster for the tournament, and under it was a small table with a large red book. The book had 'Sign ups' Written across it, and had quite a few names down. Next to the book was a pen, chained to the table. After you had written your name down, you could now rent a room. But first, maybe it was best to go across the street to the Pokémart, and buy the things you needed. Then you could go back and head into your room. Choosing the wise idea, you quickly nipped over the road to the Pokémart. Now you can get what you want. |

My entire team was finally ready for the tournament, and I still had tonight to get everything ready. After an hour inside the Pokémon Center healing my team, signing up for the tournament by pen and paper, and finally being able to rent a room out of all the already vacant ones. It was about eight 'o clock P.M. now and the Pokémon Markets would be closing soon for tomorrow's big day. I hurriedly pumped my legs and ran out of the Pokémon center and headed towards the Pokémon Market. I entered the shop and instantly scanned the shelves for the items I needed. I quickly snatched away a potion and a super potion from a packet and ran to the front counter to purchase the goods. I examined the two spray bottles to check for any leaks and found both usable and slammed both onto the table with the payment.
Before I left the Pokémart, however, the clerk placed a pokeball into my hand and said, "Please take care of her." I had no objections why not but asked why he gave the pokeball to me. He simply replied that he couldn't take care of it and left the counter. I shrugged and left the Pokémart and reentered the Pokécenter across the street. After I found my night-only room and swiped my card to get inside, I plopped onto my bed and threw all my crap onto the side and sighed. I wonder whether I'll even make by on the first round or not. No! I have to stay positive if I want to keep past the first round. I have to keep my team up, as well. I figured I'll just name the two Pokémon I have right now in the morning. But since I have an idea of what I want to name the two Pokémon, I'll name the Voltorb Jordan. The Pokémon the store clerk gave me... he addressed it as a "she", so it must be a girl. I'll name her Chloe, since it was my mother's name. Well, I've gotten both of their alias' down. Now I'll get acquainted with them tomorrow. [Leaving soon so I have to finish this up now] Edited by Lurk, Jul 5 2008, 04:49 PM.

You crawl into the chair that the center has for trainers to sleep in, and start to doze off, not quite sleeping but not quite awake either. As the night proceeds you finally fall asleep. As you sleep you dream wondrous dreams, dreams of grandeur and victory. Dreams in which you win against the Elite four and have your dream team. Suddenly your awake and take a moment to recognize were you are. You’re in the Pokémon center with your Pokémon, waiting for the big day to arrive. Suddenly a noise alerts you that something is moving around the room, going through your bag of stuff. You stand up slowly, trying to remain as quiet as possible until you can find out what is making the noise. In the dark of night it’s a bit hard to locate whatever is making the noise. Then you hear a different noise. “Duskull,” the noise arises from near your gear. As you look closer you notice a small floating Pokémon pulling things from your bag and looking at them. A second later the Pokémon notices you and floats into the air, a look of surprise coming from its single eye. “Duskull dusk,” the Pokémon says angrily and starts floating towards the door, glaring at you all the way. Wait a second; was he just holding something of yours? Is that the super potion you had just paid for? Yes, it is, you better catch that darned thing before it gets away with your potion. Lv. 11

Alright, Cole and Ariana, that ill be enough for today. Boy, I can't believe it's already been a decade since we've both met each other. We practically have the Pokémon society giving us parades everyday now that our team has gotten rid of the ghost epidemic. Boy, what I would give to be nineteen again... The dreams I was having was the best I've had ever since my girlfriend's death. I was never able to sleep so easily until now that the Tournament was in process. I was like a snug baby, sleeping on the most angelic mattress of cloud ever to be fantasized. That is, until I snapped from it and spontaneously sat up to find a f***ing apparition rummaging through my possessions. First I just sat there and stared. Then I rubbed my eyes. Then I stared again. I was immobilized. I had always wanted to kill a ghost, but to actually confront one was always one of my most dreaded fears. I inhaled calmly, and then went Godzilla on the masquerade. The thing didn't even twitch at my round of obscenity. Instead, it simply glowered at me and slowly hovered towards the door with a... with a?! I didn't expect a "with a"! I totally got mind that instant and angrily released Cole and Ariana. Cole woke up, not knowing what was going on and very exhusted, while Ariana, being an owl, just fluttered over my shoulder looking puzzled. "No time for questions, guys. Cole, use Helping Hand and cheer on Ariana on the sidelines. Ariana, use Foresight and scan that Duskull. Then dive at it with a Skull Bash in mind. If it dodges by going invisible (since it's too slow to move out of the way), just lash your wings forward to stop yourself from slamming into the wall. The Gust that you produce should make the Duskull reappear since it's still too low-classed to be able to teleport." Cole obediantly thought up of a uplifting chant and began his part of the battle. Ariana happily cheered up and then dive-bombed herself towards the Duskull, hoping not to crash with the idea in mind. I just don't want that damned ghost to get way with my $160. if it does, someone's gonna have to tak the blame. |

(Ye sorry about that, they both get 38 exp so go ahead and add it.) Duskull glared at your Hoothoot. So she was going to try to battle him? That was nearly laughable! How could a bird who knew mainly normal attacks beat him? Normal attacks were useless against a ghost, surely you knew that? Unfortunately for the Duskull he didn't know that Ariana knew foresight! The small owl's eyes began glowing a fierce red and began looking up and down the ghost Pokémon. The Hoothoot now knew a way in which she could attack the ghost Pokémon with a normal attack! This battle would now would get much smoother. Duskull wasn't expecting any attack and merely floated there waiting for Hoothoot to strike. Cole was cheering on Ariana on the sidelines and was glowing a bright white light to symbolise that he was using his attack, helping hand. Ariana was spurred on by this encouragement and she was more confident and for this turn she would attack more powerfully for her ally. He had faith in her and she would have to prove herself. Arian then began to hover with her small wings and flew towards the ghost who was still not bothering to move or do anything. Halfway between you and the duskull, Ariana began pressing down on her one foot to spring up from it. She then bounced from it and slammed directly into the ghost, thrusting it against the wall. So the bird could attack! What witchcraft was this? Lv.8 41/41 87% Lv.11 41/47 98%

It's, like, three in the morning and I have to be battling in my pajamas against the most fowl of all Pokémon. The tournament was just hours away and I can't do any well if I don't get any shut eye. If this pesky runt wanted to keel over before me, then that will be the case! I wonder if I should just send out my entire team, though~ Ariana had gotten into the game with an unexpected bash on the unwelcoming visitor by really taking him by surprise. The look on it's hollowed out face was a pretty laughable sight seeing as it was just ready to burst that flaming candle inside of it's head. That might be a bad idea, though, so I'll just stick to beating it up. My best chance to finish this quickly is to send out the swift duo formation again with both Cole and Ariana stabilizing the Duskull and keeping it clear in a short range so the attacks make perfect contact. But with Cole's attacks being mostly ineffective against the apparition, I have to keep with the Helping Hands and sabotaging for Cole so Ariana can get the attacks. Sand Attack won't work since we're in a clean environment, not to mention a sparkling facility. All I can do is use basic attacks and hope for the best. Ack, who am I kidding? Maybe I should send out one more trooper before I attempt anything. But I remember from the labs that this thing also knows Foresight, so I'd better try and keep Cole away from whatever schemes it plans to uphold. If I also thought right, it's Disable would be a nuisance to have if it somehow takes over one of my teammates. I just need to keep them moving so the Duskull can't lock-on. If it does, I'll just have to knock the Duskull around a bite with the other guy and make sure it doesn't get near the frozen one until it's mobilized again. Right now, I concentrate on agility and control. "Cole, get out there into the formation. Both of you, use Agility to get the thrust of adrenaline. Keep moving quickly and try your best not to make eye contact with it. Ariana should soon get enough speed to create a strong surge of wind. When you do, aim a Gust at the Duskull's eyes and try to make that candlelight flicker so the Duskull becomes blind momentarily (I heard that this is possible). "Cole should then be able to leap forward and take hold of the Duskull's body with Bite and jam your in fangs hard. Keep holding on until I can think of something else. If one of you guys happen to freeze, the other should do whatever it takes to disrupt the Duskull so the inanimate one can be broken free." Cole and Ariana glanced up at me with scrunched up faces when they heard my comment about one being frozen. But they shrugged it off and adamantly leaped into the Duskull's range with a throttle in their pace. This should be the- one, two, three, fourth! Fourth battle we had today. And in all those battles these two knuckleheads have been real cooperative with each other. I knew my lecture back at the Pokémon center was going to do good. |

Eevee and Hoothoot started moving around the room, quickly gaining speed as they boosted their stat with agility. Hoothoot quickly reached an acceptable speed and started sending a powerful gust of wind towards the ghost Pokémon. Eevee took advantage of this and leapt up to bite the Duskull on the head. The Duskull looked down, its eye still moving around inside its mask as it glared at your Eevee. It’s eyes started glowing a bright red as it started scanning your Eevee with its own foresight attack. It prepared to use another attack as it found a weak point in your Eevee. The wind started picking up, a black ominous feeling settling in as it prepared to attack. All of a sudden a frantic child’s voice could be heard from outside. “Mama, I lost Dusky,” the voice said. It was obviously a child that had to be quite young, she didn’t sound like she could be over 6 years old. Duskull instantly stopped attacking and your Eevee dropped off the Pokémon and looked at you for its orders. Duskull instantly became happy as it flew towards the door and then through it. A second later the girl’s voice sounds again. “Dusky, oh Dusky were have you been? You naughty boy you, have you been picking on a trainer again? You better not be, I told you that’s not nice.” The girl’s voice said and then a knock sounded from your door. You opened the door and see a girl whom, as you guessed, was 6 years old; the Duskull flew happily around her head. “Mr. Trainer, I am sorry for my Duskull, he didn’t mean anything bad when he came into your room. We are staying the night and I told it to have fun but forgot to tell it not to leave the room. I’m sorry,” she said as little tears started to well up in her eyes. Well, look at that, the Duskull belonged to someone, and somehow you had made her cry. Shame on you for making this poor girl cry. How were you going to fix the problem? |

Aw, damn it. Why do these girls always have to interrupt me during the time I'm trying to catch some good Pokémon? If this isn't more of a piss-off the second time, then I don't know what is. Ugh, at least I can get back to sleeping. Tournament's tomorrow and I don't want to miss a thing! The awkward moment of me standing there across the room from the crying girl was much more awkward then when I met that alleyway girl. This one was the mini Niagara Falls compared to the other one. But since I've already dealt with these kinds of protocols so many times before, I had no trouble thinking up of something to comfort the girl. "Apology accepted, little girl. Just try to have Dusky under control when you're sleeping because you know how some people are just terrified of ghost. I'm a perfect example of it. I just can't stand ghost, like how some people can't stand those filthy Rattatas. But anyways, go back to your room and we won't have any of this trouble, ok?" Cole yawned with sleepy tears streaming down his cheeks while Ariana hovered above me shoulder waiting to be recalled back into their pokeballs. The red-beam vacuums sucked both of them back into their shelters and I latched them back onto my belt. I waved twice at the girl with a amiable smile, but I turned away with a exasperated groan. I really had an eye on that Duskull. Maybe I could have made some extractions from that thing and figure out how it lives like that. I wanted to exterminate it! I wanted to crush it! I wanted to kill it! Oh, snap out of it, Tony! Whatever, let's just get back onto that chair and rest up. I don't want to be like that kid from Pallet Town who was late for his starter Pokémon and had to get the remainder. *Yawn* Although good things happened to that guy. *mumble mumble mumble* |

I'm assuming you want Tony to sleep, but if not just pm me and I'll edit it to something more exciting. The little girl seemed to stop crying when you accepted her apology. Her sad face, slowly turned into a happy expression as she both had your forgiveness for troubling you and having her Duskull, or as she referred to it Dusky, back with her. Better luck next time on catching a Pokémon, hopefully no little girls will interrupt you when you find even better Pokémon. But at the moment, catching a Pokémon wasn't what was primarily on your mind. The tournament was. The little girl smiled and left happily towards her own room with her Duskull, as you closed the room door behind you and moved towards the chair. Taking a seat, you got comfortable in it and could feel yourself slowly falling asleep. Hopefully, no more people would disturb your attempt at sleeping and you as well as your Pokémon could finally get the rest you longed for. Edited by Tari, Jul 7 2008, 04:20 PM.
