The wonderful continent of Tohea in the brilliant and fiery city of Hurst. You are looking for adventure and you were going to find it. In fact after getting off your ride, the Ghetto of Hurst was a great place to start.

The war-happy city was quite dirty, especially here. Graffiti covered the walls and it looked as if gang members were around everywhere, wonderful. Tow teenage boys dressed in red were coming up behind a teenage girl. She looked to be about 15 and the boys only a few years older. The girl was totally unaware, walking with earphones and music playing way too loud. A boy with tanned skin and dark hair had a pokeball in his hand as his light-skinned blond friend was pulling something out of his pocket.

"Growlithe."

The boy with dark hair released the Pokémon to reveal a Growlithe. It looked mean and angry, the girl still clueless as to what was about to happen. Would you help?

“Holy crap this place is horrible!” came the alarmed cry of a teenaged girl in pink boots as she wandered through Hurst City. Bebe didn’t think there would be a perfectly clean, straight road to her goal, but neither did she expect to see trash scattered everywhere and graffiti on every wall. To be honest, Bebe kind of wanted to turn right back around and go home. However, as soon as that thought entered her head, another thought came up: the thought of living in a tiny ranch town, surrounded by imbeciles until she died. This thought alone is what steeled her will and propelled her forward through the clogged streets and smoggy air.

Feeling alone and scared, Bebe thought that she might as well introduce herself to the Pokémon that she “borrowed” from her parents before she left. She had been far too nervous on the ship ride to do so. The seasickness probably would have put a damper on things as well. She hoped that it would be something big and strong, something that she could use to conquer the toughest trainers in this new region and show her family what was what. And with that, Bebe slowly reached into her backpack, brought out the pokeball, and prepared herself to meet her newest companion.

A bright, white light shot out of the open pokeball and formed itself into the shape of furry, red, fox Pokémon with six tails and large eyes. The Pokémon rubbed its eyes and looked up questioningly at Bebe. It was this look that immediately set her off. “Oh, you are the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen! You are so cute and I am going to name you Gogo because I can and we are going to have adventures together and become powerful and be awesome! Does that sound good to you, Gogo?” squealed Bebe in one breath. The newly-christened Vulpix chased its tails before lying down and looking at Bebe again with an even more questioning look. “I’ll take that as a yes. C’mon Gogo, let’s go find something to do in this town.” Bebe swooped down and picked up the young fox before continuing her walk down the disgusting alley.

Bebe and Gogo had not been walking for very long when they happened upon a very peculiar scene. A youngish girl was walking along with her headphones playing extremely loud music, which was distracting her from the two boys that were walking along behind her. The pair watched with horror and trepidation as one of the boys pulled out a pokeball and released a small, orange dog with black stripes. Her eyes widened. “Holy crap. Alright, Gogo, here’s what’s up. That girl needs our help. I know which moves you can do, and I know that she probably won’t be very appreciative about this, but I need you to use Agility to knock her out of the way before something happens. Can you do that?” Bebe planned. Gogo nodded, and leaped into action.

The Growlithe opened its mouth and began to charge a large fire ball, before letting out a stream of hot, red fire towards the girl. The girl still walking along, turning at the last second, noticing this attack coming towards her. She quickly grabbed a pokeball, but it was to late. Or it would have been, if it wasn't for a small red fox pouncing on her. The stream of fire scorched a nearby wall, removing alot of graffiti; well that was a good thing, right?

Wrong, the two boys didn't seem very happy, nor did the girl. Until she realised who was on who's side. She quickly hopped onto her feet and bowed towards you. "Thank you." She mumbled. "You little brat, this isn't any of your buisness!" One of the boys growled, throwing a pokeball into the air, revealing a dark, canine Pokémon.

:houndour lv. 5 :male

Uh-oh, this was hardly fair odds. "Wow, two tough guys like you picking on two innocent girls like us, real tough." The teenage girl sarcastically stated, now standing by your side. She elegantly chucked her pokeball up in the air, as it twisted a bright light shone out from the sky. A small humanoid shape emerging on the ground. Now theese odds were more like it!

Well, looks like your only option is to fight now, so you best get your first move in quick.

Bebe’s teeth clenched in anticipation of what was about to happen. Would her newfound friend successfully shove the girl out of the way, or would she fail and watch the girl get burned like so much toast? The answer, she joyfully discovered, was no. Bebe watched with bated breath as the girl suddenly started to pull her own pokeball out before Gogo helped her dodge a fire attack. Bebe saw that some graffiti was eliminated along with a small patch of wall. She couldn’t tell if it improved the look of the place or not, but she decided that this wasn’t the time or place to ponder that.

Bebe rushed forward and emitted a little cheer at the accomplishment of the task, but she was taken aback. Although she expected it, the girl didn’t look happy at all, and neither did either of the punks. In fact, the light-skinned hooligan released another Pokémon, a Houndour that rushed to join the Growlithe. Startled at the sudden change of events, she looked nervously at the girl she pushed out of the way. The girl seemed to come to her senses quickly, and Bebe heard her appreciative remark. Bebe nodded and rushed to stand next to her new partner in battle. “I’m Brienne, but my friends call me Bebe,” she introduced.

"Wow, two tough guys like you picking on two innocent girls like us, real tough," the girl shouted to the ruffians. Bebe was starting to like her! However, the odds still looked weighted to Bebe. The other girl seemed to think so as well and threw her own pokeball into the air and freed the Pokémon within. Bebe watched with wide eyes as the brilliant light faded and revealed an adorable dog-like Pokémon that stood on two legs. Having never seen this Pokémon before, Bebe consulted her Poketch and discovered that the girl’s Pokémon was called Riolu.

Bebe then found herself in a sticky situation. It was obvious that she was expected to battle these two thugs, but she had only known Gogo for a short time and wasn’t exactly confident in the girl she just met. But then Bebe smiled. She didn’t have experience, she didn’t have a strong bond with her Pokémon, and she didn’t have extreme confidence, but she did have one thing. She had hope. While investigating her partner’s Riolu, she saw that Gogo had an awesome advantage over their opponents: her power, Flash Fire. A plan formed itself in her mind.

“I think it would be easier to take them down one by one,” Bebe confided to her partner. “Maybe we should go after the Houndour first, as it seems to be weaker." She thought for another second on what she could do in order to utilize her ace-in-the-hole when an idea presented itself. "Alright, Gogo, let’s try to draw a fire attack. I want you to use Agilty in order to pick up some speed and Headbutt the heck outta that Houndour,” Bebe commanded to her Vulpix. She watched as the battle scene unfolded before her.

The girl nodded in return to Bebe's greeting, but refused to formally introduce herself until after you had given orders to Gogo. "I'm Samantha, but I'm informally known as Sam," she said, gritting her teeth. "And these two punks are about to get a major @$$-kicking.

"Eon," she started, addressing the Riolu. "While Bebe works on the Houndour, we need to deal with the other threat: Growlithe." Here, she was ignoring your advice, but perhaps keeping that Growlithe in check would also help you. "Eon, start off with Quick Attack on the Growlithe in case she makes any risky moves. That's all for now." Odd, her orders were a little adrupt and broken...

"You're not going to thrash us that easily," Tanned guy sneered. "Growlithe, use Agility to raise your own speed to try and dodge Quick Attack, and then threaten that Riolu with Ember."

The lighter-skinned guy went next. "Your turn, Houndour. Use Leer when that Vulpix approaches you, and then give it a taste of its own medicine with Headbutt."

As Gogo started speeding around the field, Sam's Riolu took off with a Quick Attack towards Growlithe. The Growlithe was using an Agility of her own, but it wasn't quite enough to dodge the Quick attack. Riolu nailed her fast and hard, sending her into a nearby wall and knocking the breath out of the dog's body. Without any air, she couldn't inhale to create an Ember.

At this point, Gogo lowered her head to deliver a Headbutt. Glaring at the incoming fox, Houndour was able to successfully Leer in her direction. Then, he lowered his own head for a crash-collision Headbutt similar to yours. Needless to say, both Pokémon collided with each other and were knocked back a few feet before snarling angrily at the other. Yep, these two hated each other.

In almost literal terms, this battle was starting to heat up. Sam showed some signs of wanting to cooperate with you, but you had to make this battling relationship with her work before it's too late.

Bebe was startled by the ferocity of the battle that was happening in front of her. Her little Pokémon baring its teeth and growling like a wild animal? Not Gogo! Bebe had no clue about just how much her Vulpix loved to battle. Indeed, behind this fox’s cute exterior lied a feral creature waiting to get out. Her lust for battle had barely been sated by this point, and it was obvious to Bebe that Gogo only wanted more.

In fact, Bebe was a little scared by this sudden change of attitude in Gogo. But she thought that it could maybe be a blessing instead of a curse to have such a battle-hungry companion -- especially if there were many battles such as this one, where her defeat could mean a harmful end for both her AND her friends. But what if it took too long for Gogo to abandon her rage? What if it were too easy for her to enter it? Bebe decided to sit her down and have a “discussion” about this fury in order to get some facts straight.

Nevertheless, Bebe opted to wait until after both she and a strange girl she only knew as Sam were in danger. If she could just figure out a way to get Sam to cooperate with her more, than those two Pokémon would go down easily. Both girls were obviously much more intelligent, and Bebe seemed to have a mind for strategy, but Sam was acting quite strange. Bebe noticed her abrupt manner of giving directions and Eon seemed to understand well enough to perform them proficiently, but the left almost no room for strategy. What about if the Quick Attack missed? Sam gave no other instruction for the Riolu to follow. Plus, Sam didn’t even think to follow Bebe’s advice! Well, she seemed to be doing well enough without doing so, and Eon hit hard enough for the Growlithe to not even be able to emit an Ember attack, but they will definitely be defeated if they didn’t work together.

Bebe tried to reason with the strange girl. “Sam, listen. I know you probably have more experience than me and we just met, but we have to work together if we want any hope of winning. If you don’t think my strategy is valid, at least tell me what you are doing so we can work as a team.” She looked at Sam with pleading eyes. This was her first real battle, and she'd be darned if she lost it.

Hoping she didn’t sound too bossy, Bebe continued to command Gogo. “Good job girl! This time I want you to use your speed to Body Slam the Houndour and use Growl while you’re on top of it. You ready? Then let’s go!”

While Gogo prepared to use her heightened speed to charge the Houndour, Sam contemplated your words. "I'm ready to cooperate, but these two may go down faster if we hack at both of them while defending each other. Deal?" Without waiting for a full response from you, she gave some fresh orders to Eon. "Good job Eon. Now, I want you to use Agility to raise your own speed. When the time comes, I'll give you further orders." Maybe this was abrupt again, but perhaps she had a trick up her sleeve this time.

In response to Sam, Eon started speeding around the area while the two annoying boys dished out their own set of pain. "Houndour," light-skin started, formulating a plan. Defend yourself with Harden while the Vulpix uses Body Slam, and then show it how much you hate being sat on by negating Growl with Howl!"

"Growlithe, use Agility to match your speed with that troublesome Riolu, and then move towards it with a matching Bite!" Dark Skinned kid said, his eyes gleaming with malice. In response, his puppy started speeding up.

While Gogo moved in with Body Slam, Houndour slumped down and tightened its muscles. Instantly, the dog's skin became slightly rough, depleting some of the received damage from your Vulpix's Body Slam. Yet, the poor dog's Harden didn't keep it from becoming paralyzed. Still, he was able to use Howl, completely drowning out your Vulpix's Growl.

At this point, Growlithe decided to use her great speed to strike out at Riolu. Baring her teeth, she ran over to the motionless Riolu and sank her teeth into the puppy's pelt. Gritting his teeth, Eon prevented himself from crying out from the pain. Luckily for him, fighting types were fairly strong against dark moves.

"Use Counter!" Sam put in suddenly. Eon smiled sadistically, his body starting to glow with a purplish sheen. Instantly, the Growlithe was thrown back into her trainer with twice the force that she had used for Bite.

So...Not a bad round, aye?

“Sam… but… Counter… wow.” This random collection of words came from the slightly -- make that highly -- baffled mind of a girl who had just been proven wrong. Who was she to question and doubt the mind of a person who obviously had much more experience on the battling front than her? Who was she to boss someone around who should be the boss in that situation? What had she done to make herself think her battling abilities were even close to the level of this girl? An idiot, a nobody, and nothing, in that order.

Sam had pulled out that Counter attack flawlessly and impeccably, without showing any sign that it was coming. Bebe needed to take some notes. She would never know when a well-placed Counter could change the entire tide of battle like the one she had just seen did. The Growlithe that had before been one entire half of a formidable twosome had been reduced to a quivering mass with only a fraction of health left, almost leaving its paralyzed partner to take on two healthy Pokémon by itself. And Bebe was fine with that.

Not only had Eon almost obliterated the enemy Growlithe with one attack, but even Gogo did well. The gods seemed to be on Bebe’s side that day, for she was doing pretty well in her first battle, even if it were against two people at the same time. Really, again thanks to Sam, it was more like a one-on-one battle -- a battle that she was winning.

Bebe wondered how best to take advantage of the Houndour’s paralyzed state and incorporate that into her battle tactics. She was torn between two courses of action: heeding Sam’s advice by concentrating on taking down that Houndour and completely ignoring Sam’s advice by assaulting (and therefore finishing off) the Growlithe. She weighed the two options in her mind, comparing the pros and cons of each course of action. Bebe decided to make the ballsy move and help Sam.

“Good job Sam! That was way awesome! Now let’s finish off that Growlithe. You ready Gogo?” she called with a smile in her voice. The confidence was rising within her. “I want you to use Skull Bash and then Bite to take care of it.” Sam had told her to keep her distance and let them fight separate battles, but Bebe saw an opportunity and she took it. Besides, the Houndour had used Harden. How could any of Gogo’s attacks even make a difference? Also, it was paralyzed and probably couldn't even catch Gogo. Bebe gritted her teeth and hoped this plan of hers worked out for the better.

"Don't give into the pain, Growlithe! Use Harden to defend yourself from that troublesome Vulpix. When it attacks, use a Bite to keep her at bay!" the tan-skinned trainer ordered, his eyes darting around nervously. It was obvious that he was having second thoughts.

"Houndour, your turn. Fight through your paralysis and use your own Body Slam to try and impair that Riolu," the lighter-skinned guy ordered, not even bothering to try another order; he didn't want to exert Houndour too much.

Sam glared at you a little in annoyance; you weren't heeding her orders. Yet, she decided to ride along with you and focused her attention on the Houndour. "Eon, let's use a single attack to even out the odds on the Houndour. It's time to use that new attack that we've been working on. Time for a Force Palm!"

Gogo ran at Growlithe with a Skull Bash ready. Whimpering, the little dog used Harden to raiser her own defense by stiffening her muscles. She was hit by the Skull Bash, but was able to use Bite to latch onto Gogo. Whimpering painfully, Gogo bit back. A short Bite war between both females started, and eventually, your Vulpix came out on top as the other Pokémon fainted.

That left Houndour free for a Body Slam against Eon. Running stiffly towards the Riolu, the mutt jumped into the air and prepared to smash his bulk down on the fighting dog. Eon had been preparing for this; his hand glowing, he struck at the Houndour with a Force Palm, sending it backward and crashing into the ground.

Struggling to maintain its footing, it was quite clear that Houndour was really weak. A couple of more hits would probably be enough to finish it off.

“Woo hoo! Alright Sam!” Bebe started to celebrate by raising her arm for a high-five before seeing Sam’s peeved look. She slowly put her arm down and focused on what she was going to do in order to end the battle. The Houndour was struggling to even stand up and Bebe felt for it, but she also knew that the punks asked for it by threatening them. Really, it was their fault that neither of their Pokémon was able to really be a threat to either girl, Bebe thought. They should’ve trained them better.

The girl frowned slightly. She didn’t want her Vulpix to go down like those two did. And she would have to do some major training in order to get to the level of Eon. Bebe marveled at the way it used Force Palm, a move that Riolu usually doesn’t learn until much later in its life, and at Sam’s ability to strategize. She seemed like she was two steps ahead of everyone, even their foes! You could even say that Bebe sort of looked up to the other girl. She had obviously trained hard in order to reach the level, strategy and power-wise, that they were on. This is exactly what Bebe needed to do, and she knew it.

Bebe chose to end the battle quickly. There wasn’t much left that the Houndour could use to fight back with. She was pretty certain that Gogo could handle the incredibly weakened Houndour, so she initiated the final moves. “Gogo, let’s end this with a Body Slam followed by a Bite, just in case. Get to it!” she directed. Bebe watched Gogo follow through on her commands and hoped she would show at least a little mercy on the other Pokémon. Bebe didn’t know if she would be able to live with herself if Gogo didn’t and something horrible happened.

Eon wagged his tail as though he was ready to fight some more, but Same held the Riolu back. "Let the Vulpix finish this one." How about that, she was allowing you to deliver the final blow. Wasn't that sweet? Eon crossed his arms at this, but complied with his trainer's orders.

The tan-skinned guy had already recalled his Growlithe and looked rather nervous. The lighter-skinned dude, however, was still in control of the injured Houndour. "Headbutt the Vulpix away from you, Houndour! Don't let it deliver a Body Slam. Then, use a Bite of your own to block it!"

Barking its assent, the mutt butted away Gogo with a Headbutt just as she was about to flatten him with her bulk. Reacting quickly, Gogo latched onto the Hondour's left leg and dragged him with her, using the thing's own force against it. Yelping in surprise, the Houndour finally couldn't take anymore and fainted.

At this point, the Houndour's trainer recalled his dog. Both guys looked as though they were about to wet themselves. After a moment, one of them said, "See ya!" and both of them split. Bloody cowards...

Gogo gained 66 :exp and grew to Level 6!

Anyway, after recalling Eon, Sam came up to you. "Nice battle," she commented. "First time in a while that I've seen a new trainer show some decent talent." Was she complimenting you? "Sorry that I was a little resigned, but I'm used to working alone. Sorry about that."

Turning around to leave, she stopped for a moment as though she was debating with herself. Turning around, she handed a full Pokeball to you. "This is Eon's younger sister. She just hatched, and she doesn't have a name. I honestly have a full party already, and don't really have time to train her. Want her?"

What luck! Would you take the gift?

Was this actually happening? Was Sam serious? First the compliment (which Bebe really appreciated) and now this? It all seemed so surreal to Bebe that she thought she was dreaming. She actually began to twitch a little as she considered what she had just been offered: a Pokémon, and a rare one at that. This Pokémon was also related to the Pokémon that pretty much decimated two strong enemies that would’ve been a challenge for Gogo, which almost guaranteed her strength in battle. Besides, Gogo needed a comrade that could help her out. It just wouldn’t have made any sense for Bebe to say no.

“I would absolutely love to take that little one off of your hands! Thank you so much for this gift. That was a truly awesome battle, by the way.” Bebe took the pokeball out of Sam’s outstretched hand and cradled it to her chest before placing it in her pack next to Gogo. She would have to wait to introduce herself to the young Pokémon until she reached the Pokécenter. She couldn’t have a Pokémon not at full health when she tried to take on the country!

“Goodbye Sam. Thank you so much for this gift. I will make sure to only treat her with the utmost care and raise her to be the best she can be. Catch ya later!” Saying goodbye to Sam for perhaps the final time, Bebe turned and walked away in search of a Pokémon Center. She was elated, of course, at the fact that she was getting another friend on her journey, but nervousness was beginning to set in. The battle that she just took part in was a wake-up call that let her know exactly how hard it would be for her to rise to the heights she expected herself to reach. She knew that if Sam hadn’t had such a powerful Pokémon, both girls would’ve been in big trouble. She also knew that if she didn’t start training as hard as she could, every battle would be that tough.

Bebe stopped walking in order to think harder. “On the other hand,” she thought, “if I don’t have more varied types of Pokémon, I could be in the same situation I was just in. Gogo couldn’t use any of her special attacks because of those Pokémon being the same type as her. So the question is, which aspect should I work on first?” She chewed her knuckle while she considered each option more in-depth before finally coming to a decision. She would go heal Gogo at the Pokémon Center first, and then go in search of more Pokémon to add to her team. If she came across a Pokémon that she didn’t want to add to her team, she would still get to train by defeating the other Pokémon! Looking up from her thoughts, she smiled brightly. It felt good for her to have finally reached a decision and have direction in her life. In fact, the combination of the beautiful day, her victory in her first battle, the acquisition of a powerful new friend, and a decision being reached made her laugh out loud and start running around. The next thing she needed to do was find the Center and she was off on her first real journey!

Congratulations on your first victory. I'm hoping that it will be one in many soon enough. But besides all that we have to get you to the nearest Pokécenter unscathed city hobos and alley-dwelling rapists. I'm serious, Hurst is a demonic place with every corner screaming and yelling and blood and, er, "sexual" blood.

But luckily for you, the district you're in has one fourth less of that. The Pokcenter's red dome glowed and flickered with a very dim light compared to the bright summer sun. The inside had an even harsher light fixtures beam down from the ceiling.

Trainer's and their Pokémon interacted with one another like any other common Pokécenter with some doing trades with others and some just chatting about useless strategy crap. Since this place was a tremendous metropolis, the Pokécenter was able to afford two free-use healing machines for anyone who needed to recover their Pokémon in a hurry. Like always, the place was packed with people and their injured pets so the line requirements were to wait for a consuming amount of time.

The second line to the free-use healing machine took less time and gave you a fresh hour that some other trainers didn't have to sit down and relax a bit. You didn't have much planned for the day except to eat, crap, and later on, sleep. Although you do have time to have your new teammate have a bonding experience with it's owner. You could do that for awhile until dinner comes around.

Before you do that, though, there is something else that you could tend to before you do that or whatever else you plan to do. You see that guy over there? Yeah, the one with the expensive looking watch, apparel, and everything else? Uh-huh, well he just passed by you just a few feet away and accidentally, or I think it was accidental, dropped a folded piece of white paper onto the floor.

He walked out nonchalantly as if nothing happened and turned a corner. If you picked up the note, it would have read:

Hello, fellow stranger. I do not wish to reveal my identity as of this moment, but I can inform you this: There is an item in my possessions that has very useful strengths, indeed. I do not wish to keep it, since I have no use for it, but maybe you might like it for whatever it is you trainer's like. So if you want your hands at this, be prepared for a Pokémon battle in the park that follows these directions. I will be the luxurious looking man that I'm pretty sure you saw leave the note and will have the item at hand. You may have this treasure if you can beat me in a duel of strengths, wits, and strategy. In other words, a Pokémon battle. I tend to repeat myself a lot, so don't pay attention to that. Just meet me here and be ready.

The rest of this paper is practically a loop of what he just wrote down but with synonyms of the original. Sounds like lies to me, but maybe he might have such an item and will go by his word. Who knows? But anyways, I leave this plot here for you to stir in your head while I wait for the results of your decision to come out.

“Some people are so strange…” mumbled Bebe to herself as she read the note that the man had dropped earlier. She looked over to her left shoulder, on which sat her new Riolu, and asked, “What do you think? Can we take him?” Bebe didn’t really expect a response from the small Riolu, so the fiercely burning eyes and quick nod she received in response surprised her. It seemed to her that this young Pokémon already had the confidence of someone that had won many battles. Bebe liked that about her. It was nice to have just met someone and have their confidence.

“All right!” she giggled. “You are the cutest thing ever. But what should I name you? I can’t just keep saying Riolu all the time.” Bebe really wanted to name her a name that was reminiscent of her older brother in order to remind her exactly what she was capable of. “I know!” Bebe yelled. She picked up her Riolu and held it in front of her. “Listen. I’m going to call you Era. I want you to know that this means I want you to be a part of my team and that you are important to me. You understand that?” She was reassured by Era’s sincere affirmation.

“Alright. Now let’s go find that park Era.” Bebe put Era back on her shoulder and walked out of the busy Pokécenter and onto the dirty street. Looking around with wide eyes, Bebe and Era noticed exactly how grimy and filthy the town they chose to start their journey was. They also observed the extreme danger that could befall them. Bebe was happy she had two Pokémon that would protect her if anything happened. Thankfully, she thought was smart enough to try to avoid most things. A person couldn’t easily trick Bebe Warner, especially with Era right there on her shoulder.

But if I’m so smart, she thought to herself, why am I following directions on a cryptic note -- that was left on the ground by some incredibly strange guy who I didn’t know -- to a park in a ridiculously dodgy city that she could easily get lost in? The sheer irony of it all wasn’t lost on her. But that wasn’t the point. The point was that she was challenged to a battle by someone she didn’t know. The prize was an item of apparently huge significance and possibly experience for her Pokémon. Both Bebe and Era were ready.

The closer they got to the park, the more nervous Bebe got. “This could easily be a trap Era,” she mumbled. “Be prepared.” The diminutive Riolu nodded again, eyes blazing just as they did at the Center. When they reached the entrance to the park, Bebe got scared for the first time since she reached this town. She was filled with excitement when she came to a dangerous city for the first time in her life and she was only a little nervous in her first battle, but her confidence grew. But this situation was different. She couldn’t really blame anyone else if something went wrong because she was willingly walking into it. It was no-one’s fault but her own, which only hit her at that exact moment.

She froze at the entrance. Her mind was trying to make her legs move into the park, but her legs just weren’t getting the message. She decided that she needed a little more assurance and let Gogo out of her pokeball. When surrounded by the two things in this town that care about her well-being, the spell that was cast upon Bebe was broken. She knelt down and patted Gogo, stood up and looked at Era, and ventured into the park -- ready for whatever would come her way.

The really creepy thing about this park is since it's part of Hurst, a lot of crimes fester here and usually lead up to terrorist attacks because of the now-common sights of kidnapping and etcetera. No one is willing to do anything about it now that it seems to be growing a profit most of Hurst. So now instead of a nice, friendly park filled with natural forest critters and a harmonic chorus singing in the background.

But the letter was an quite honest with it's oh-so sharp edges. The man familiarity was standing below the tree observing his fingernails pretending as if his interest was diverted to only the ends of his fingertips. He did see you but made no eye contact to make sure that anyone saw, even though there wasn't anyone around at the time.

Walking closer with all the more caution, the tension and suspense almost made the guy's muscle pull so the black coated man stomped his foot onto the ground signaling you to either move along or get over here now. You're goal was to figure out what the objective of this guy's scheme was so nothing to do but listen to him and get over there.

"So you are the receiver of my letter? *sigh* I was hoping for a more experienced looking trainer, if you know what I mean. You look like more of a professional Pokémon co-ordinator than what I expected. So you are the finder of my note, eh?"

It went on like that for a couple of synonym switches later and then he finally took you to the point.

"As I promised, I will hand over my item of sacred powers. But as I said in my paper, you must defeat me in a skirmish before I give. But I might as well give you a little peek of what you are going for so you will battle like a warrior."

The man groped the inside of his cape for the item you were going for and unveiled it with an amusing brush of his cloak.

"Behold! The over worldly majesty of the Fire Stone!"

Not a very majestic gem, if you asked me. The blazing crystal with the fire emblem glowing from within the stone looked almost fake. But it was quite real, alright. The aura that glowed on it's surface was making the pokeball that encased your Vulpix was trembling.

"But before we get to that...," the man slid the stone back into his wanna-be's magician cape, "you must battle me in the duel, as said in print. If you're wondering why I'm doing this... let's just say that I have a certain test I have to perform that maybe useful for the near future. But for now, I just want to say how deeply grateful I am for you to trust me enough to have you in my experiment. Now, let's duel!"

The creepy hobo (I will identify him as whatever I want, thank you) whipped a pokeball into mid-air and with it an explosion of glitter and then reveal of the Pokémon inside. Now standing before you is a very bold and uptight looking Bagon ready to do his master's bidding and do whatever is necessary to please him.

"Well? Did I stutter or something? Please cooperate with me here, I can't battle someone if they don't have their Pokémon out. Well, I could, but I don't like being one of those filthy scumbags that fight for no reason."

Tch, yeah. Tell that to his breath.
