You're probably right about nobody looking for that pink puffy thing of singing wonderment. But still, to be on the safe side, you should probably keep her hidden away for a little while in case you come upon somebody looking for it. Especially if that somebody has an uber strong Pokémon ready to take you out. Like maybe that trainer up there a little ways who's staring intently at you and seeming to be waiting. Once you reached him he extended a hand in a formal shake.

"Hello fellow trainer. My name is Mike, and I would like to challenge you to a battle before you head into the city of Wayford. Two Pokémon battle, though not a double battle please. First up for you to battle is my Shinx, which I have named Shilling! Let's try this trainer out!"

Indeed, it appeared that you would be facing a Shinx first, an electric Pokémon which might not be easy for you to defeat. Most of your team is made up of Pokémon weak against the electric type after all. However with a good Pokémon choice and an excellent battle style, I'm sure you can pull it off! So how about you show us just how it's done?

Rex continued down the path of route 2, heading toward Wayford. As he walked, he started thinking about what he was going to do once he got to Wayford. The thought of catching Pokémon, battles, and even a possibity of challenging Gym leader. Rex couldn't wait any longer now thinking about it. All of his thoughts faded when he saw someone ahead. "I wonder who that is?" He said approaching him. The guy introduce himself as Mike and he wanted to battle him before he entered Wayford. "What a way to enter a city." Rex said.

This could be his chance to win for the first time. All the trainer versus trainer battles he had he lost. Now he feels he could win this if he played his cards right. "Sure, I'm up for it." He said with a smirk on his face. Rex watched the trainer as he open a Pokeball. The young trainer was surprise when he saw it was a Shinx. That Pokémon looked in good shape, it looked small but he new it was power. Rex aimmed his Poketech at the Pokémon, he had to find more on the Shinx before he would battle.

Shinx, the Flash Pokémon. Its forelegs have a muscle-based system of generating electricity. Its body shines if endangered. "I only have one Pokémon for Shinx to battle on my team." He said reaching for a Pokeball on his belt. Rex enlarged the ball and threw it to the ground. "Come out Houdour." He said seeing the brown dog. The Houndour barked and got into an attack ready for what ever. "Mike... I'll let you start this off." Rex said with a smirk on his face.

Letting another trainer start it off might seem like a good idea since you can take what his commands are and try to counter them. However, that's not necessarily a good thing if he gives out battle requests that you can't counter at all. Although that's usually never happened as far as I know. But still, you are placing the first round of battle into the ref's hands, and technically he could make this Shinx attack Houndour before you can give any counter commands.

Fortunately for you, I'm not evil, although it is sort of irritating to have to come up with a post such as this one just so you can finally do something that I can actually reply to. Still, I think I'm doing rather well with coming up with fillers, don't you think? Alright, the trainer glared at you and commanded that Shinx use an Agility followed by a Growl. There's something that'll probably be hard for you to counter. Oh, and also he tells him to be ready to dodge anything necessary.

Rex folded his arms and closed his eyes and waitted for the trainer to give his commands. He notice that the Shinx looked like a well trained Pokémon, but he didn't let that faze him. Rex was very confindent in this battle. The young trainer was quite tired from all that walking on route 2. Maybe after this, he would goto a Pokémon Center and sleep for a while. He would also train some of his Pokémon, which needed to level up and learn some new attacks. The young trainer opened his eyes and smiled thinking about going in Wayford.

Hopefully they had different Pokémon than they did in Tohea. Rex was in need of some Pokémon that were useful. Instead of having the same type in his team. For now though, he was going to forget about all that stuff untile after the battle. "So you're going to start off easy.... Houndour, use Ember infront of the Shinx on the ground and fallow it up with Tackle." He commanded the dog. Houndour barked and got into attack mode. Rex was planning on making a little dirt cloud to mess up the Shinx sight.

Once upon a time, there was a boy with a Houndour who decided to battle a Shinx and let the Shinx's owner go first with commands. Unfortunately, that was the biggets mistake he ever did, as the Shinx then heard what his commands were after and dodged everything and just massacred the poor little puppy. Angry, the Houndour's owner threatened the other trainer whom pulled out a gun and shot him. Wait, you're getting upset? But why? Oh no, this is a completely different story from your own. Silly boy, I wouldn't kill you so soon at all!

Anyways, the Shinx started it off with an Agility to raise his speed and then used Growl to fight your Houndour's attack. Houndour did as you asked, using an Ember that struck the earth before Shinx, raising dust like you had hoped. Coughing, Shinx was ill prepared for the Tackle that followed, and his trainer didn't look all too impressed with his Pokémon. Sighing, he shook his head and glared at the scene in general before giving his Pokémon some more orders.

"Use another Agility Shinx, and this time I want you to go in for a Tackle! Make sure you hit him hard, and if possible, get his face with a Bite attack!" Ouch, this guy was being serious with this, wasn't he? You should probably play things a little more like him.

His arms were still folded as he watched the battle. Rex wasn't worried about his plan not working and he wasn't that surprise his plan did work. He was more worried about what his next move was going to be. Once he heard the other trainer's commands he thought of something. The trainer told his Shinx to use a another agility and a tackle. The young trainer looked at Houndour and smiled. Rex had another move that would hopefully help him out.

"Houndour rush toward Shinx and dodge anything it throws at you. Use Howl, then once you're close enough let loose a Ember in it's face with full force." Rex said. The Howl would bring his Pokémon attack up and make the Ember stronger. That way it could inforce the Pokémon to get burned. With his arms still crossed over his chest, Rex just continued to watch the battle to see what would happen next.

Ember is a special attack, and therefore would need a move to increase special attack to do more damage. Since Howl only increases regular attack, Ember won't do more damage from that, but your commands are set. The electric type had used Agility and was running really fast at your Houndour who used the Howl you asked him to. But before he could unleash the Ember you had asked, he was hit by the Tackle and sent skidding across the ground. Once he stopped, he looked up to see Shinx at him again, and this time it lunged at his face. Houndour opened his mouth and Ember came out, scorching Shinx, and causing him to run off.

The other trainer smiled, pleased with the battle so far since things were definitely in his favor. Licking his lips, he nodded towards you. "So I see that you seem to be hoping that a higher attack will help you. Well Ember isn't going to be more powerful because of that I hope you know. Alright Shinx, use a Leer followed by a Body Slam! I want to finish this battle as fast as possible so we can find a real worthy opponent."

Ouch, this guy wasn't very nice, was he? You have to admit though, you haven't shown to him that you're very good. I think you might want to come up with some kind of tactic.

Rex watched as the Shinx ran toward his Houndour. The Shinx tackled his Pokémon, making it skid across the ground. Looks like his plan didn't go so well. Rex looked toward the other trainer as he spoked. The young trainer couldn't even believe what he was hearing from Mike. A real worthy opponent... Those words stayed in his mind for a while. As he sat there a part of him was saying to give up and run away, but another side also said stick with it and keep fighting. Still though, how dare he say something like that.

"I wouldn't count on that." He said to the trainer as he pointed. He was going to make him pay for those words, by defeating his Shinx. "Houndour, once the Shinx goes in for the Body Slam use Ember in its face and fallow it up with your own Body slam." He shouted. The brown dog waitted there until the time was right to do the commands.

As vicious as the trainer was, Shinx was just as evil, as now he activated both of his abilities at the same time, while using the Leer. Houndour's attack was lowered from Intimidate, and Shinx's own attack rose from Rivalry. Now things were going to get ugly, as the trainer watched Houndour very carefully. Following his eyes, just as Shinx got close, he yelled, "Duck under and come back up with your Body Slam!" Shinx ducked, and the Ember passed over his head, but Houndour was hit hard with the Body Slam.

With a yelp, Houndour was thrown up into the air from Shinx's upward movement, and he landed with a dull thud back onto the ground. Trembling, your dog tried getting back up, and Shinx took matters into his own hands, using Quick Attack. Houndour looked up, eyes wide, and was struck face on, yelping yet again and falling back flat on the ground. Grinning, the other trainer recalled his Pokémon, and you saw that you had lost the battle. Houndour wasn't moving, and he looked pretty badly beaten up. I'm sorry to say, but it looks like this battle didn't end in your favor.

Shaking his head, you heard the trainer mutter pathetic as he began to walk away. Looking back toward you, you saw an evil look in his face. "Next time you want to battle, I suggest you use a much better trained Pokémon." He scoffed before walking away again.

Rex thought the battle was turning around for him, but he was wrong about that. He continued to watch as the Shinx dodged the Ember attack. As soon as he saw that, he knew that it was all over now. The trainer's Pokémon slammed its body onto Houndour as hard as it could. Houndour yelpped as it was thrown up into the air from Shinx's upward movement, landing on the ground with a thud. Rex could tell Houndour was in a lot of pain, just by telling the way he tried to get up. Without the other trainer saying a word, the Shinx finished Houndour off with a Quick Attack. The words the trainer left him with just continue to repeat itself in his head. 'Next time you want to battle, I suggest you use a much better trained Pokémon.'

The thing about those words hit him so hard because Houndour was his most trained Pokémon. Rex had Houndour ever since he started his Journey. They even had a little adventure together before they arrived in the Tohea Region. Right before Rex went on the boat to Tohea City, Houndour and Rex encoutered a swarm of Beedrill. Both the trainer and the Pokémon ran for their lives in a forest. Rex kept running as fast as he could with Houndour by his side. The young trainer turned around to see if the Beedrill were still behind and as soon as he did he tripped over something, falling flat on his face.

Rex could remember telling Houndour to keep running. Houndour barked at him, basicly saying they were a team in Pokémon talk. Rex was then hit by an attack from Beedrill, knocking him out. In a flash Houndour leap at the swarm and let loose a Ember attack. Rex woke up in the Pokémon Center on a bench. Nurse joy walked up to him and told him that Officier Jenny found him in the Forest with Houndour keeping guard. Since then, Houndour's been his most loyal Pokémon and they've been very close.

He shook the flash back off and looked at the dog. Unfolding his arms the young trainer walked over to the Houndour and got down to its level. Rex started to rub the dogs fur and smiled. "You did great, I'm proud of you. I truely am." He said looking at the dog. Houndour looked back up at him and licked his face. "Let's get you to a Pokémon Center." Rex said returning him to his Pokeball. Once he was done healing Houndour, they were going to do a lot of training. Rex put the Pokeball on his belt and entered Wayford, not knowing what he would see.

As you carried your wounded poke'mon's poke'ball, with it inside, back to the poke'mon center you consider what would happen if you met that trainer again. You should probably avoid firghting him again, if ever you two do meet. That is, untill you have trained your poke'mon. Anyways, you head to the poke'mon center and give your poke'mon to Nurse Joy. She gladly takes them and you wait for them to be healed.

While you are waiting there seems to be a commotion outside. Nurse Joy comes and returns your poke'balls to you and you walk outside to see what it is. There are two poke'mon outside fighting. It seems to be a Starly and a zigzagoon. The starly dives in and hit's the zigzagoon with a wing attack, knocking it out. The Starly, in an agry rage, starts to fly around and dive at almost everything around, will you stop it or let it continue it's angry rage.

As he walked, he reached for a Pokeball on his belt. The Pokeball that he reached for contain Houndour. Rex wasn't about to release the brown dog, he just stared at the Pokeball as he walked. While looking at the Pokeball he had little flashs back a the battle. He could see the Houndour hitting the hard earth, feeling mastive pain. Rex would never forget the words the trainer left him with or the evil grin the Shinx had on it's face. Rex was going to train his Pokémon to the fullest until they were stronger. Once he was in Wayford he started heading toward the Pokémon Center. About a minute later he was stopped by the sight of a sign.

The trainer started reading the sign. "Welcome to Wayford City, home of Lady Kioja, the Wayford City Gym Leader." A smirk appeared on his face after reading the sign. Rex would being seeing her before he left Wayford. The trainer then made his way to the Pokémon Center. He was so happy to be here, it seemed like he would never see one against while on Route 2. Before he healed his Pokémon he walked over to a PC. Rex put both Jigglypuff and Staryu in the PC. Rex didn't want to be caught with seven Pokémon so he put Jigglypuff aka Pinky in the PC. There was also no point in having two of the same types in a team. After that he went to the counter and got his Pokémon healed.

When he left the Pokémon Center he saw two Pokémon fighting, a Zigzagoon and a Starly. Rex aimmed his Poketech at the two Pokémon to get info on them. Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon. It walks in zigzag fashion. It is good at finding items in the grass and even in the ground. Rex smiled once he got the info, now it was time for Starly. Starly, the Starling Pokémon. They flock in great numbers. Though small, they flap their wings with great power. "They're both great Pokémon, I have to have them." Rex said taking out a empty Pokeball. Before doing anything he would watch to see what would happen.

Next thing he knew, Starly dives in and hits the Zigzagoon with a wing attack, knocking it out. "Zigzagoon you're mine!" Rex then threw the empty Pokeball at the Zigzagoon to see if he could catch it. The Zigzagoon would be a good addition to the team, he could use it to find rare things.

So yes, you entered Wayford without event. Nurse Joy looked at you a little funny as she took and healed your Pokémon and returned them but otherwise said nothing. After she returned your Pokémon you rushed over to the single PC in this particular Pokémon center but you were promptly forced to wait in line for an agonizingly long amount of time. It appeared that a portly woman was deciding which Pokémon she was going to deposit and keep. She must have been quite the trainer when she was younger as the Pokémon she needed to deposit was rather rare. It was a Scyther and a Smoochum. Quite the pair. In the end she chose Scyther and he was able to chop up here vegetables rather nicely for her.

But FINALLY you were able to use the PC, much to your enjoyment and then you went on your merry way outside of the Pokémon Center. The fresh sea air of Wayford welcomed you as you stepped outside. Nowhere, not even in Tohea, was the sea air so prevalent. In and around Wayford some of the regions best water-types made their dwellings. But it wasn't water types you were after was it? No, no you wanted the Zigzagoon and the Starly currently battling outside of the Center. Thus you threw your pokeball at the knocked out Zigzagoon and you captured him. Good job. Now you must turn your attention towards the Starly and send one of your Pokémon out to deal with it before it goes flys and attacks a small child or a baby. If it is able to do that, then death is imminent for some people in Wayford. What were you going to do? Stop the bird or allow Wayford to suffer?

Rex smiled as he ran over to the Pokeball and picked it up, putting it on his belt. The Zigzagoon will definitely come in handy soon. Now it was time for the Starly to be captured and Rex had the perfect Pokémon for the job too. He then reached for another Pokeball that contained a Pokémon in it. The young trainer tossed the ball in the air and when it opened a beam of light hit the ground. The beam formed into a shape of a little yellow mouse.

It was his Pikachu, also known as Zap! This Pokémon was going to be perfect for this battle because flying Pokémon are weak against electric types. "OK Zap! Use a Thundershock on that Starly to get it's attention!" Rex commanded the yellow mouse. Zap let out a cheerful but yet cocky cry as it got into it's attacking stance. Pikachu then leapped in the air and let loose a Thundershock. Rex just watched to see what would happen next.

Ah yes, Starly. They weren't bad Pokémon honestly. Rather good when you began to evolve them. Staravia is a Pokémon that'll take you where you need to go, but in order to aspire to attain Staravia, you would first have to capture Starly which with your Pikachu would prove a possibly simple task indeed. Electric attack are, as you know, highly effective against flying Pokémon. Well anyway allow us to get this battle started shall we?

At the sight of your Pikachu, Starly took to the air flying high; it wasn't about to get hit by a thunder-shock. Moreover Pikachu was a rat, a rat! Starly eats rats for breakfast. No mouse was going to conquer mighty Starly. At least thats what the bird was thinking as it began to think of a way to get rid of you. As it was Pikachu's thundershock missed. Wonderingly your electric mouse looked languidly up at the sky and wondered whether or not Starly would return. Since it appeared that the bird was probably gone, Pikachu turned around--a grave mistake--and started walking towards you. Through the clouds shot Starly with purpose in her eyes, and she delivered a raking scratch attack right across Pikachu's back.
