A yellow duck was peering at you from the water, a blank expression on its face. As you approached it it hid under the water, seemingly swimming away. You sighed and started to walk away, the sky darkening above you. As you walked you could hear something behind you, but when you looked, there was nothing. An ominous feeling washed over you as the sound continued. You feigned looking and quickly turned the other way, noticing the yellow duck that you had seen earlier behind you. but, it wasn't alone. Two dull looking beavers stood on either side of it. It stared at you and raised an arm slowly, opening saying something in its own tongue. Immediately the beavers leaped at you, barely giving you time to take out a Pokeball. This Pokémon must not like you, sicking his lackeys on you like that. I wouldn't worry about that duck, its his big toothed buddies that are dangerous. I'd be surprised if they didn't try to bite your hands off to stop you from calling out a Pokémon. Anyway, the choice is yours. Run or fight? Good luck... Lv. 7 39/39 100% Lv. 5 35/35 100% Lv. 9 43/43 100%{Not involved in the battle. Merely observing} Edited by nopok1, Jul 28 2008, 06:03 PM.

Rex saw a yellow duck peering at him from the water, a blank expression on its face. As he approached it it hid under the water, seemingly swimming away. That was really weird. He never saw a Pokémon at that way before. Someone once told him that every Pokémon has a different personality. He just sigh and walked away. He looked at the sky and yawnd. Rex was getting so tired, after all the things he did. Battling a wild Grimer, going into a creepy house, saving a Pidgey, and now just catching a Staryu. So much things he did in one day after just getting here from Kanto. He just continue down the road. As Rex walked he could hear something behind him, but when he looked, there was nothing. "Please don't tell me it's another Ghost Pokémon." Rex said still walking. Rex feigned looking and quickly turned the other way, noticing the yellow duck that he had saw earlier behind him. "What the heck is going on?" Was the only thing he said. Two dull looking beavers stood on both sides of the Psyduck. He was guessing that the two Bidoofs were his bodyguards or something like that. Rex had no time to say anything to the Psyduck the Bidoofs leaped his way. Rex just jumped to the side and sent a Pokeball flying. Out from the Pokeball came a purple ghost made of gas. It wasn't the female Gastly, it was the male Gastly. Rex caught two not just one Gastly. "Use Hypnosis on both of the Bidoofs." Rex yelled landing in some bushes. |

So I come on to do my lovely duties of reffing for a bit before I leave to hang out with a friend, and this is what I find? Some rabid Bidoofs being led by some Psyduck that they follow around? And I thought that Bidoofs were low lives before, but this is BEYOND retardation, following a Psyduck around like its their ruler or something. Besides that, why would they be attacking you? You're a human, and isn't that against some kind of conduct with most Pokémon. Personally I was only aware of a certain few species of Pokémon who could be hostile to humans and times, and Psyduck and Bidoof were never on that list. But like I said, I'm pretty sure that they're practically rabid. Anyhow, the Gastly saw what was happening and knew that she had to do something to help you out here, and you did ask her to put these fellas to sleep. The two Bidoofs were angry that you were able to send a Pokémon out and squared up against her, though they weren't expecting the Hypnosis. Both of them, who were looking at Gastly, were easily put to sleep, and thus, Psyduck was very angry. He started throwing a fit, and if you could understand what he was saying, you would know that he was calling his lackies a whole bunch of fowl names. And then he decided that if you wanted something done, you had to do it yourself. Only when Psyduck made a step towards you and Gastly, his foot caught in a hole and he fell. Now I would find this absolutely hilarious if I wasn't so certain that he wanted blood. Erm... your actions now? { You might of read the post wrong, I sent my male Gastly out not the female.} Rex saw what happend, how in the heck could he send the wrong Pokémon out? That was a mistake that any new trainer could make. He took the female Gastly's Pokeball out from his backpack. "Return.." The red light shot at the purple ghost, sending it back to it's Pokeball. Rex put the Pokeball back reached in and got the other one. "Come out!" He threw the Pokeball to the ground, the white light formed into another Gastly which was the male. The male Gastly went to Rex's side. He hovered next to him waitting on his command. Rex looked at the Psyduck that was stuck in the hole. Rex wasn't going to hurt the yellow duck. "Gastly, if the Psyduck attacks me get ready to use Tackle." Rex approached the Psyduck with caution. He helped it out of the hole and kneel to the ducks level and offered it some Pokémon food. "Psy Psy ay ay Duck!?" The egotistical psyduck looked at you strangely before taking the pokefood. It ate while giving you the empty stare that all psyducks seemed to make. After finishing the meal that you provided, it seemed to think. "Psy aye aye DUCK!" The orange colored duck finally shouted, seemingly coming to a decision. The deranged duck ran to one bidoof woke it up, then ran to the other and woke it up. "Duck duck psy aye aye duck psyduck!" said the psyduck. "Bi doo ooo doo Bidoof!" both of the Bidoof's replied to the psyduck. All three Pokémon seem to be having a serious discussion about what to do. The discussion ended with psyduck yelling his name at them loudly. The 2 bidoof, grudgingly, walked off to a distance of 10 feet away turned and watched. The psyduck on the other hand walked up to you. It first pointed to an empty pokeball that you were carrying around. Then it made battling gestures. It seemed to want to be caught, but it seemed to want to fight first. The best thing to do is comply, it'd probably follow you until you complied. So you have a deranged egotistical duck who wants to fight and be captured. And you have 2 bidoofs watching from a distance. You could leave the 3 Pokémon to their little game, and possibly be follow. Or you could battle the psyduck and capture it, and possibly go after the 2 bidoofs. Hmmm choices choices choices. This psyduck could be a nice addition to your team, and those bidoofs look like they could be of some use. So what's it gonna be? Have fun. |

Rex looked down at the Psyduck as it pointed to his Pokeball. He noded and let the Psyduck know he was wants too. "Gastly use Tackle!" Rex yelled watching the ghost disappear. Rex always wanted a Golduck. This would be a good time to get one, also the Bidoof would be good too. |

Seems as though you're trying to put all your eggs in one basket. Seriously, you were trying to catch two Bidoof and a Psyduck roughly in one sitting. I wouldn't be so confident if I were you, but it can be done. You'd have to pray for luck if you even wanted to subdue this duck. Gastly was a nice choice, but was he cut out for battling a fat, clumsy duck? With that comparison, I'd say yes. Gastly began everything by disappearing and reappearing behind Psyduck, ready to use a Tackle. The blundering duck didn't seem to expect the move and was sent flying onto his overgrown stomach. The Bidoof from their far-off vantage point snickered, thinking that the dumb duck couldn't stand up to you. Boy, were they wrong. Psyduck staggered up, an eivl grin stretching across his beak. With a low "Psy" you could see at once that he was trying to spice up this battle a bit. In fact, he didn't seem to be as stupid as he looked. Gastly was still visible and in close range, so the duck instantly hit it from behind with a Water Gun. With a low cry, Gastly floated back to you, slightly shaken from the unexpected torrent of water. Not much had happened so far, but you now knew not to underestimate Psyduck. He wanted your very flesh, and he wanted you to prove your metal to him. If you could do that, then he'd gladly allow you to capture him. If not...well, let's say you'll be humiliated in front of two Bidoof, a Psyduck, and a Gastly. Lv. 7 30/39 92%VS Lv. 9 37/43 94%

He couldn't lie, he was getting a little cocky, there wasn't no way he could get all three. Rex will at least get Psyduck. The Bidoof will also be a good addition to the team. He had a lot of different types in his team. Fire/Dark, Water, Flying, and Ghost. Thinking about the different types he had made him wonder where his sister was. Rex always wonder what type of Pokémon she had and how many. Gastly was doing good but so far this was only the first round. Looks like it was his turn again. Rex looked at the yellow duck and smiled, pretty good so far. "Gastly, Psyduck can't attack with you with any physical attacks but what out for that water gun." Rex told the Gasty as it floated next to him. Gastly could do this, he believe in him. Rex thought about what to do for about ten secounds. He still couldn't believe it was almost dark time, and he was battling. After this he was planning going to the Pokémon Center and heal his Pokémon then look for a Sneasel. Sneasel are likely to be out at night. "Gastly use Lick and Spite.. After that use Body Slam." Rex command the ghost. With that said the Gastly disappear. |

Planning to go after a Sneasel, are we? Rare Pokémon indeed, and fairly useful too... First thing's first, Gastly carefully moved in with Lick. Lightly vanishing, he reappeared behind Psyduck and attempted to run his wet, slippery tongue on the thing's feathers. However, Psyduck had been waiting for such a move and narrowed its eyes a little. Immediately, they started glowing a light purple, and Gastly was trapped in the confines of Psychic. God, what's up with all of these Egg Moves? They're more common than meets the eye, for sure. The purplish aura enveloped Gastly, but you didn't have anything to worry about...at first. After all, Gastly was a ghost Pokémon, right? True, but we're forgetting its second type...poison. That made Gastly's immunity to psychic attacks null and void, although it only took regular damage from the move. Regardless, it was still a surprising sight to see a ghost get slammed into the ground. Reeling slightly, Gastly's eyes glowed a black color, and Psyduck suddenly lost a lot of energy from having used Psychic. It didn't quite understand why it was tired, but it knew that the source of this had been Gastly. Giving an indignant quack, he shot another Water Gun at your ball of air. Gastly was ready, however. He was able to hover over the attack and headed towards Psyduck with Body Slam. Not a bad move on your part, but might I remind you that Gastly only weighs one-fifth of a pound? Therefore, the Body Slam didn't pose a lot of weight at all and caused hardly any damage. Honestly, next time make sure that your Pokémon isn't a lightweight when using weight-dependent moves. Anyway, ready for another round? You were definitely entertaining those two Bidoof in the distance.... Lv. 7 21/39 68%(3-Attack combo used) VS Lv. 9 35/43 58%(3-Attack combo used) |

Another mistake from Rex. Gastly was able to hover over the attack and headed towards Psyduck with Body Slam. Not a bad move on Rex's part, but he then forgot the fact that Gastly only weighs one-fifth of a pound. Therefore, the Body Slam didn't pose a lot of weight at all and caused hardly any damage. If he wanted to prove himself to the Psyduck he has to play his cards right. Rex looked at the little yellow duck and smiled. The Psyduck was one clever Pokémon, though most people thought it was as dumb as a Magickarp. Who ever thought that were wrong as can be. Rex closed his eyes for a secound then opend them again. "Gaslty disappear and use Lick then fallow it up with a tackle." Rex said looking at the Psyduck. |

As Gastly listened to your command, he disappeared and floated over to the Psyduck, reappearing in front of it, causing it to become startled and start flailing its arms around. As Gastly moved in to Lick it, the Psyduck's arms simply passed through it. Licking the Psyduck, Gastly's saliva began to work its magic, slowly paralyzing the Psyduck as it tried to back away. Instead, it lost its balance and landed flat on its backside, sitting there, it's hands on its head as if it had a headache. Taking this chance to follow up, just as you had instructed, Gastly raced towards the Psyduck, tackling it hard, sending it skidding backwards, crying out in over-exaggerated pain, kicking and crying in a mad fit of aggravation and distress. Soon, the paralysis had taken full effect and Psyduck now lay motionless, soft murmurs coming from it. So it seemed you now had the upper-hand here. Let's see if you can do anything about it, though. ;:ALLY:; Lv.7 21/39 65%;:ENEMY:; Lv.9 25/43 51%{PARALYZED} Approvified. Edited by Lurk, Aug 9 2008, 02:45 PM.

Instead, it lost its balance and landed flat on its backside. This was the first time Lick worked. Back in the Tournament of Eternal Flame he tried that move and it did work. Now that Psyduck was paralyzed, it was now time to turn up the heat. Gaslty floated back to Rex's side with a cheerful look on it's face. He looked at the Psyduck laying there just sitting. Rex let a laugh escape his mouth. It was time to show the Psyduck what he had. Gastly looked at Rex still waitting on his next command. His mine was on the Bidoof, but that went away for after a while. Rex turned to the purple ghost on his right side. "Use Tackle then Bite." Rex said. |

((Please note, I don't count sentences that are nearly word for word copies of the ref post.)) "Gaaastlyy." obediantly, Gastly floated casually over to the Psyduck, circling him. "Pssy.. duuuck." Psyduck struggled with his paralysis, started panicing. Gastly suddenly rushed Psyducks backside, pushing Psyduck down, then biting Psyduck's head. Psyduck cried out in pain, and frantically scratched Gastly's currently substantial form, forcing Gastly to back off. Psyduck turned to face Gastly, who was safely in Ethereal form. Psyduck thought, something Psyduck doesn't get to due often, but the bite to his head shocked him a bit into it. As Gastly floated there, making faces, Psyduck bent over, as if in pain, then brought himself up and unleashed a Water Gun! The water struck Gastly, forcing him back. Psyduck isn't out of the game yet, and Psyduck is getting used to being Paralyzed. What will Rex do now? Gastly was ready to go, and Psyduck was ready to fight. If only Gastly had some sort of attack that didn't require him to be substantial. ;:ALLY:; Lv.7 14/39 55%;:ENEMY:; Lv.9 17/43 46%{PARALYZED} Edited by Stephan Reiken, Aug 13 2008, 02:56 AM.

Rex was starting to sweet, this could all be over with one more hit. That's if he plays his cards right. This all reminds him of that Grimer in the alley way when he first arrived in Tohea. Rex was being a little too cocky that his Houndour ended up getting poisned. From that sitution, he learned to stay calm in battles. A smile formed on his lips as his eyes closed. Right now he was thing of something to do to end this battle. Rex opend his eyes and looked over at the two Bidoof in a distance. He still couldn't believe that they were taking orders from a Psyduck. "Gastly let's finish this up, use Tackle and dodge any on coming attacks." Rex shouted. |

Psyduck began to move, its hand rose into the air at your Gastly as it struggled to surpass its weakness but to no avail and it collapsed in a panicky motion, nothing could be done. Your Gastly flew at Psyduck and rammed it with a strong tackle, retreating incase of retaliation but there was none, the Pokémon was weakened and unable to move it rolled a little and then stopped. It tried to get up, "Psssyyy" it squawked collapsing, that took a lot of energy from Psyduck and it was unable to move at all. This was what you needed, the opportunity for capture, or otherwise you could continue and give your Gastly a little extra experience. The Bidoof's began to chatter, their so called master was down and out, should they flee or try protect him? "Bi bidoof" one said turning and running off into the distance. The other one called to him "Bidoof!" it commanded but lost sight of his companion "Biiii" it said sadly turning towards the battle. One Bidoof and an incapacitated Psyduck, now this was a good turn of events, the Bidoof was loyal to Psyduck and would probably follow it even in capture. ;:ALLY:; Lv. 7 13/39 49% ;:ENEMY:; Lv. 9 7/39 40% {PARALYZED} -Awaiting Mod approval, we apologize for any inconvenience.- Edited by Lurk, Aug 17 2008, 11:50 AM.
