"I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." - Nikola Tesla

Interestingly enough this round of attacks worked better then one could hope. As Noah charges forward he hears a growl coming from Bagon, which works enough and causes the Skarmory to focus on him for a split second, long enough for the Squirtle to slam into it from beneath with a tackle attack. It gets knocked off its course and falters in the air for a second, only to be slammed from the front and the back. The front is by a tackling Growlithe, the second is by a bubbling Squirtle. And the combined effect of the two cause the steel bird to land with a solid thunk on the ground. Skarmory quickly jumps back up and looks at the other Pokémon with pure anger, a look that seems to say that she is going to give them a major dose of pain. Skarmory takes to the air again, circling around until it finds a good position to hit more then one target at once, as its wings start to glow a bright white color. Skarmory seems to form a wicked grin as it dives right between squirtle and Growlithe, hitting both with its steel wing attack, and sending both Pokémon flying through the air, landing hard by each respective trainer. The Skarmory caws loudly, mocking both Pokémon and trainer as it comes around for a second attack, this time focusing on the Growlithe, the fire Pokémon most likely to do the most damage. It flies close to Growlithe, its beak glowing as it prepares to peck. Growlithe jumps back as the peck closes in, and barely gets away from the bird. Skarmory slams its beak into the ground and gets stuck. Great ending for a good round, sure some of your Pokémon took damage, but you guys also did a farely good amount of damage, and now the bird Pokémons beak was embedded into the ground, and it would have to spend a few seconds trying to release itself, maybe if you move fast enough your Pokémon can take advantage of this fact. Lexi was completely surprised to find herself being thrown onto the ground, sure, she felt a bit bruised up by the entire experience, but all in all she was ok. It wasn't that she wasn't expecting to get hit by something, it was just that she thought that something would by Skarmory, not Kaen. Smiling to herself despite the situation, Alexis assured the girl, that she was now more than happy to call a friend, that she was alright. What came of slightly less of a surprise was that Noah had been thrown to her side. The Skarmory was clearly quite a formidable opponent. Lexi pulled the Squirtle up to his feet and told him what a good job he'd done thus far, before glancing back towards the battlefield. Ryuuza, Kaen's young Bagon, and the mystery boy's Growlithe had joined the fight. Lexi wasn't quite sure what had gone down; her eyes were covered for most of the time, but somehow the Skarmory had got itself lodged in the mud. It was a really strange thing to see to be totally honest. One thing Lexi couldn't understand though, was why the Growlithe wasn't utilizing its type advantage. Sure, she may not have been watching closely, but Lexi would still have felt the warmth from an Ember attack if it had been used in such close quarters. She turned towards their anonymous battle partner and began to question him: "Hey.. uh... you!" Well what did you expect, she didn't know the guys name... "I don't know if you've realized, but this isn't exactly a friendly battle, so there's no harm in using what you got. I can tell by looking at it that that pup's plenty strong enough to get things heated up, so why don't you save us all a lot of trouble and finish this thing!?" A bystander might have thought 'Gee, Lexi. Don't you think that's a bit harsh?' but Lexi wasn't in the mood for soft. Sure, the kid might not be as familiar with type advantages as she was, and to be honest, the steel type wasn't very common so he mightn't have had much experience with them before, but there was not point making this battle last any longer than it had to. Which reminded her... "Noah, I know that this isn't a lot of fun, and that you're a bit outclassed here, but do you reckon you could give it another shot? Use your Bubble attack... I think it's probably the best way to go." Noah looked into Lexi's bright blue eyes, and without a sound the girl knew that he was still willing to do whatever it would take. A warm feeling came over her as she realized how loyal the turtle Pokémon was to her, especially considering they'd only been together for four or five months. Noah turned back towards the battle and rushed towards Skarmory with an enraged expression on his face. |
