Ah, grand Tohea. The center of these islands. It stood proud and tall, surrounded by the magnificent ocean. The waves crashed onto the beach, rolling back out as soon as they stretched to their limit. All around you, people walked and talked as they headed onto the pier. Vendors called out their various goods and bickered with their irate customers. Well, it was a pretty nice day today and several people were out enjoying the sunshine.

Down below on the beach, children ran around, giggling as they played. Several were gathered around as a couple of Water trainers battled their sea-bound Pokémon against each other. The Goldeen and Tentacool faced off in the ever-changing waves.

On the dock, however, a kid was arguing with his friend over who had the best Pokémon. The Growlithe and Niodran growled at each other, hackles raising. The kids had now gotten into a shoving match. "Growly! Ember!"

The Growlithe barked and almost spat fire at the purple Pokémon. The Nidoran, however, rammed into him at the last minute, sending the fireball up. It smashed into the light on the dock which happened to be home to a family of Wingulls. The nest caught fire and began to burn. The mother squawked and flapped out, the nest sliding and falling off of the light. It managed to land safely on the ground somehow and the baby Wingulls inside began chirping in fear. Momma was off, pecking and driving away the two trouble-causing Pokémon as her babies began scattering in fear. Well, this was an interesting way to start. The Wingulls were getting a little too spread out for comfort. It might be wise to try and keep them herded together so one doesn't fall into the ocean.

-Slowly she walked, down from the craft she had travelled on, and unto the soil of Tohea, the center isle of three. The girl stretched out, and turned to her blue companion. She nodded at him, the Bagon which had been with her thus far. She stretched her arms out, thoroughly enjoying the sunshine beating down upon her. She paid no mind to the constant arguing and peddling sounds

How innocent those younglings were; they played by the beach, presumably without confounding thoughts as how to work life out of its wrinkles. She briefly feasted her eyes upon the battle between the Water-Pokémon, before blinking (largely due to the sun) and continued on her way.

She cared not for the two children who were shoving each other. When one commanded his partner to attack the other Pokémon, she raised her eyebrows for a split second before turning away. There was no point in watching a fight between two young, probably inexperienced fellows. There was nothing to learn from them save self-restraint to save oneself from the shame of losing.

The teenager glanced upwards, following the fireball’s line of movement; from its starting point until the point where it slammed into the light. She sighed, before glancing downwards at her Bagon. She had nary a care for helping the baby Wingulls; instead, she merely stood there, observing the situation with the slightest of humour bubbling within her.

She briefly thought of helping the spread-out avian-Pokémon get back together, reforming their nest of birds, but shrugged the thought away. It was entirely pointless to spend her precious time on something as trivial as this. For one, the mother was still there, and if she had the smallest strand of love for her young ones, she would’ve ignored the brewing battle and focused on herding up the baby Wingulls.

The lass crossed her arms, before looking up at the blue skies. Now, what would be the next curveball that life would throw at her? She smiled at her own impertinence, before turning to glance for the third time at her Dragon-Pokémon, the smile completely disappearing from view. Her eyes bore into his, as she slowly moved towards one of the baby Wingulls.

‘Keep on the mother Wingull while I see if I can do anything with one of these birds,’ said she, before moving towards the seagull-like Pokémon that she had selected with her eyes. She then attempted to nudge it with the tip of her shoes, so as to see if it was worth her time. If it was not, she would not spend further time her and allow the matter to straighten itself.

-The little Bagon rubbed his palms together. Distract, eh? That command was vaguely familiar, ah, didn’t it mean diverting away someone’s attention? He smirked, toddling over to the mother Wingull (but still keeping a safe distance away from her), still rubbing his palms together in sheer glee.

His first, real command that wasn’t under the watchful eyes of his Trainer’s father! How he wished to not complicate this matter and please her, maybe even prove that he was a Pokémon of value, a Pokémon worth keeping by her side.

Bagon watched the Wingull warily. Mothers were incredibly unpredictable when it came to their children. However, she looked to be completely involved with the Growlithe and Nidoran and didn't pay attention to you or Bagon. The dragon kept an eye on her though in case she did try to swoop in.

The Wingull you poked turned around, fluffing up his feathers to appear bigger. His little eyes were incredibly bright and gleamed with malicious intent. He snapped at your foot to try and drive it away even though you were much bigger than his tiny body. He did look a little bigger than the others, probably because he shoved the others out of the way when mom came with food. The other Wingull had huddled together next to the ashes of their nest and stayed as far away from you as possible.

Momma Wingull then noticed that her babies were terrified and flew over to herd them back. She counted with her beak and came up one short. Bagon growled at her as she turned to see where her other baby was. She ruffled her feathers at Bagon and then noticed that the baby Wingull missing was that one. She glanced back up at the dragon before slowly backing down. Shuffling, she herded her children on the other side of the dock near the railing. There was a spare nest under the wooden structure.

The Wingull was now biting at your shoe. It refused to back down even though you could probably step on him and kill him. He seemed to just wish harm on every part of your being. Well, he was no sane bird but he probably would make a ruthless fighter.

-She smirked. This was pretty simple. However, it usually wouldn’t be that simple every time…that just meant that she’d have to make the most of this time. Would it work? Yes. What if it didn’t? She would make it work. Shooting a look at the mother Wingull, the girl then proceeded to look at the bird she decided to poke with her shoe.

To tell the truth, she sort of liked the look on this Wingull. It had bright eyes, and possibly a sharp mind – what was there not to like about it? Her father had once told her that malicious beings, though difficult, can be worth something if they can be reined in. And that baby seemed like one of those Pokémon. The confident smirk came crawling back across her visage.

Her sharp eyes flicked over to the huddled Wingulls. Deep down, she felt that if she had picked one of them, it would be a much easier task for her to do so – possibly getting away with one of them without the mother noticing. But ah, what was done was done, and the girl was stuck with the one she had nudged boldly.

Then she sighed. A destroyed house wouldn’t do any good, even though it held sentimental value. There weren’t supposed to be emotional attachments to things that held no life within them, let alone a soul. As the mother herded her shocked babies, she raised an eyebrow to her Bagon.

Vaguely, she was rather pleased by his efforts to stop her from coming closer. Hobbling and shuffling, the mother Wingull then ushered her precious younglings towards the opposite side of the pier. Before she could investigate further, a disgruntled hiss slithered out of her lips when she felt something nibbling at her shoe. Her head snapped towards him, and shot a cold glare towards his small skull.

She desperately wished to be able to maim him on the spot, but her conscience and general sense told her not to do so. This Wingull was definitely a fun one to play with.

-He snarled softly at the Wingull mother. He didn’t want to scare her, ultimately drawing attention to the avian his Trainer was singling out. His narrowed eyes focused on every movement of the female. The Dragon-Pokémon wasn’t about to allow her to lunge at him, completely out of the blue.

When she noted the situation her children were in, the Bagon took a step back. Surely she wouldn’t think that he was the perpetrator of this whole situation? A growled hurtled out of his throat, rumbling and warning her not to come closer. He didn’t think he could take her if she came – someone once said that a mother’s love for her young ones would drive her to do anything – so he thought that dodging out of her sight would be his top priority then.

He seemed taken aback when she ruffled up her feathers. For a moment there, he seriously pondered the chances of a fight happening between them both. But as she chose to tend to her babies, the Bagon felt that nothing too drastic would happen. As much as he wanted to show his relieve by sighing, he ignored the urge to do so.

The girl’s Pokémon ally allowed his focus to slack when the mother backed down to lead the way back to the wharf. That most possibly meant that her remaining babies were of the extreme importance. He grinned faintly when he saw the Bird-Pokémon biting at the female’s shoe. Things seemed to be alright for now, just like the life he had back home.

Bagon was quite happy about not having to fight off the mother Wingull. It would've been a bit of a strange fight anyways, seeing as the little Wingull would probably join in as well. The dragon strode back over at looked down at the Wingull still trying to maim your shoe. He reached down and poked it with a foot as you had done. He turned his attention to his foot now and chomped down on it. Bagon yelped and hopped about with the Wingull dangling from his toes.

He kicked out and the baby went off. The bird shook himself off and ruffled his feathers. He looked mad now. Squawking, he fired a Water Gun at the dragon. It did little as he wasn't that strong yet, however, it did spray in his eyes and he shook his head to try and stop the stinging. It didn't look like the Wingull was going to go down without a fight now.

Well, it wouldn't take too long to beat it, considering how young it was. Although it would give you some good practice and to see how much of a fighter it really was. If anything, he could put up a fight merely because he wanted to beat you and Bagon up.

-She laughed softly. How funny, watching her Bagon trying to distract the Wingull from her shoe. She awaited a chance to see what the blue dragon with do. As the Wingull bend forwards and bit her partner's foot. Ha! What a joke, and what a fool the Dragon-Pokémon was making of himself. While her partner hopped around, she walked over him, shooting him a short glare, before her eyes relaxed.

'Kick it,' she ordered, only to see her companion getting squawked at by the seagull-hybrid. Sniffing in a displeased manner, she shot another glare at her partner. 'What are you waiting for?' she said coldly, flicking her eyes towards the baby Wingull. Before the Bagon could attack, a jet of water came from the bird, shooting directly into her partner's orbs. How useless could he get? she found herself thinking, pangs of annoyance striking her in the gut.

Snapping her fingers, the female Trainer found a rather good way to get out of this situation. 'Get him, Ryuuza,' she smirked, 'Charge at him with a Headbutt.'

-Smiling, Ryuuza trotted over to his Trainer, happy that he accomplished something. Surely he would be praised now? No? When the girl laughed, a ripple of fear ran down his spine. What was she thinking? He then prodded the avian with the tip of his foot. A split second later, pain surged through him. How Ryuuza wished to shriek, yet he held it in, feeling his eyes water. This bird was no little guy.

A moment later, he yelped, feeling the force on his foot tighten. The Bagon hopped around, trying to fling it off his limb, but to no avail. Then he got a brainwave. Maybe he could kick out and get him off! And thus, the little blue Pokémon lashed out with his feet, and felt so very relieved as he saw the Pokémon head off. But he hadn't escaped from danger yet. There was still a battle to fight, or at least, the looming prospect of a battle.

As the bird ruffled his feathers, a strong blast of water fired out from his beak, before hitting him squarely in his head and eyes. He shrieked in pain, before flinging his head from side to side to get the pain and water out. Of course, it intensified the stinging. Upon hearing the orders from his calm Trainer, Ryuuza pawed at the ground and growled.

His eyes snapped to the Wingull, now red and wide due to the previous jet of water. Then, lowering his head and charging full force, the partner of the girl tried to headbutt the opposing Wingull.

-Attacks: Growl, Headbutt

Time for your first battle in Tohea, huh? Well, this playful little Wingull was a perfect first Pokémon. The time for fighting had begun with that little shot of water. Now it was serious.

Ryuuza watched the seagull warily. His anger at the bird's low blow with that Water Gun caused him to growl viciously. In response, the Wingull cowered in fear. Maybe Ryuuza was a bit too scary.

At your command, he began to charge at the little bird. His little frame picked up speed and rushed at the seagull. Still in fright and afraid of the dragon charging at him, the Wingull forgot he had wings. Or at least, he forgot until Ryuuza was way too close.

Remembering at the last second, the bird jumped up in fright trying to fly up and away. Ryuuza crashed headlong into the Wingull's legs and sent the bird sprawling through the air. Timing it just right, the bird managed to send a pressured stream of water out at Ryuuza. It didn't hurt a lot, but it was something.

-She crossed her arms before her chest. Ryuuza didn’t seem to be able to handle his own self properly...maybe a little pain would help him. As planned, the Bagon growled at the Wingull, scaring it before he begun to charge at it. She smiled to herself. ‘Go on,’ she urged, and then had the satisfaction of watching the Dragon-Pokémon dart towards the seagull, head briefly glowing as he tried to headbutt the Wingull squarely in his chest.

However, the attack failed somewhat, and Ryuuza ended up crashing into the Wingull’s feet. Yet another jet of water greeted her partner’s face, causing the Bagon to take a step backwards. ‘You’re weak,’ she spat, ‘Get up and fight back. Tackle then Headbutt.’ She was calm, collected; she knew what she had to say to get Ryuuza fighting to her wishes.

Instil fear...or something.

-He grunted as he watched the seagull for a while more. This fight, though simple was taking a serious turn... The Bagon’s throat began to rumble once again in rage, letting out a slow but fierce growl directed at the Wingull. The bird had caused him pain, and he was going to make him pay for it.

‘Gon!’ he grunted briefly, disgusted at his inability to land a hit on the Wingull before its stunned brain remembered that wings were for flying. His Trainer’s words were like a sharp knife, rubbing his already bruised soul with salt. It stung.

Then he felt the water, and knew he had to do something. Something, anything. The Dragon-Pokémon smirked to himself. More orders from his Trainer, which happened to be something he could do well. He'll make the Wingull pay...

He slowly started to move towards the Wingull, starting with a trot but steadily picking up speed as he tried to attack the Flying-Pokémon with the force of his charging body, followed by a strong blow with his somewhat armoured head.

-Attacks: Tackle, Headbutt

Still struggling with this troublesome, horrendously common Wingull? It wouldn't surprise me if you didn't want to catch this thing, they're so common. But if you wanted to one-up this Pokémon onto your team...well, at least some of its abilities would be useful. Maybe you would catch it just for spite since it was giving your Pokémon hell right now. Or your Bagon could use it as a chew toy. Either way, you'd get some satisfaction out of this whole situation with the dumb bird.

Wingull decided to start this round off with a Growl. However, as your Bagon was now too angry to really care, the attack had no effect and he slammed into the now-stationary bird. Out of pure luck, the Tackle was a critical hit that sent the bird slamming into the ground. Bagon then used his advantage of gravity and slammed into the troublesome pheasant with Headbutt. Luckily for you, the Headbutt had caused the bird to flinch and he was now within catching range...unless you wanted to finish him off.

Suddenly, the sun disappeared as black clouds started to form and block out the heavens. The clouds expanded and grew until they covered the sky from horizon to horizon, and even then you could tell that they were thickening. The atmosphere had taken on a greenish color, and your first thought was that a tornado was going to occur. Joy, and on your first day in the region! Wait...that wasn't quite what was happening here, was it? In fact, this event was new to the world altogether. What you were about to see next would make Tohean history.

The huge mass of clouds started rotating in its center, the motion expanding through the clouds until it seemed like the whole sky was twisting clockwise. In the middle of the dark mass of clouds, a black hole opened up. The vortex seemed to lead to sheer nothing...at least until green fireballs started falling out of it. They came irregularly at first, and then it expanded into what could be called a fiery hailstorm. The flaming fireballs started falling towards earth, landing in many different locations. Throughout the city you could hear people screaming.

Were you going to abandon this battle in an attempt to check out what's going on like some of the braver trainers in the city? Or were you going to finish up with the Wingull first and then go fireball-hunting?

-She sighed for a while. This Wingull was getting tiresome...she could, of course, order Ryuuza to finish this Wingull off and forget about it. ‘Ryuuza,’ she drawled lazily, a slow smirk crawling across her visage as the bird-Pokémon tried to no avail to lower her Bagon’s stats. ‘Get it.’

She watched as the Dragon-Pokémon slammed his torso, followed by his hard skull into the Wingull’s body. ‘Not even your mother can save you now,’ she said quietly, walking slowly over to it. Should a jet of water shoot out – no chance, her hand was already snapping to a spare Pokéball by her side. She contemplated catching this Wingull as a training companion for Ryuuza; her fingers slowly drumming against the red-and-white orb.

A shower of green fireballs hurtling her way made the decision for her. ‘Finish it, Ryuuza,’ she ordered, pointing her index finger at the hapless Wingull. Screams reached her ears; this situation was no simple one – the faster the battle concluded the better. ‘Ryuuza...’ her voice was threatening.

‘Or, suit yourself,’ she growled, seeing no response from the Dragon-Pokémon, which seemed momentarily occupied with the flashes coming from the clouds. She hurled the Pokéball at the hybrid Water-Flying-Pokémon. If it was caught, it’d be safe, but be a toy for Ryuuza; if it wasn’t caught, fine, it was sending itself to its own demise, and she couldn’t care more.

-Ryuuza wanted a chew toy. A something that he could bat around and it came in the form of this Wingull. He momentarily hesitated finishing off the foe despite the rage that was bubbling within him. He took in a deep breath. His attacks had connected; the Wingull was in a weak condition. He smiled to himself as he looked up at his Trainer.

He had done the job well, and it seemed that she was interested –

But the skies were more interesting. He watched as a vortex revealed itself, followed by a steady raining down on green fireballs. Ryuuza growled at the Wingull in an attempt to scare (and maybe stun it) as the red-and-white Pokéball slammed into the bird’s abdomen. So she wanted to catch it...

Chew toys. They were fun, and were good companions because they couldn’t complain. However, the need to get out of this dangerous area was more prioritized in the Bagon’s mind. ‘Gon,’ he uttered, as if hurrying the Pokéball to capture the Wingull and let them get the hell out of here.

The red-and-white spherical Pokeball soared through the air, revolving and rotating as it spun towards the battered and barely breathing Wingull. The creature struggled weakly on the ground as it made a feeble attempt to dodge the Pokeball, but to no avail. Within seconds the little Wingull was sucked up into the object with a flash of red light, and the spherical orb landed on the ground shaking. It rocked feebly a few times before the lock clicked, and you abruptly knew that the Wingull was now yours.

Ryuuza gained 24 :exp !

Now that this was all taken care of, you could go off and heal your Pokémon if you so chose. Then you could go out and check those flying fireballs out. Even though the event was obvoiusly of the supernatural sort, you could see if any Pokémon were connected to this whole occurrence. Unless you're a coward, you could have a decent adventure right here in the city. Destruction and strife seem to be right down your alley, at any rate.

"Chansey!" something chirped behind you, and you saw a group of about eight Chansey waddling down the street with a carrying cot. On it was a Machop with obvious burn marks accompanied with a worried trainer being led along with a psychologist. The trainer kept gibbering something about monsters from Mars or wherever and that they were pure evil. The psychologist kept trying to comfort him and ask questions while taking notes. This obviously means that, like you, other trainers were also checking this happening out...sometimes by accident if these things were causing real fires. Hopefully you didn't end up like Gibbering Jim over there.

Seeing your Pokeballs, one of the Chansey waddled up and sprayed a Potion apiece on them for quick treatment. Nodding, she then went off with the rest of the group after signing for you to get to safety. Yeah, like THAT was going to happen! You could obviously prove that you were more competent with strange events than that other broken trainer and his severely injured Machop. At least, that's what you thought until one of those fireballs almost hit you...literally.

Sidestepping it at the last moment, the fireball slammed into a garbage can and caused a mini-explosion in the side alley nearest to you. Pieces of metal garbage can, the lid, and...ugh, garbage...were spinning all over the place. The scorched spot where the garbage can had been was now occupied by a small coughing form of...something...concealed by smoke. When the said smoke cleared, something of about two feet in height was revealed:

:... ? Lv. 2

Whatever it was, it seemed to be fairly innocent and young, if not a little strange-looking. That trainer had to be WAAAAY wrong, right? I mean, this thing obviously came from the fireball, but did it look huge and monstrous to you? I think not! Then again, you didn't know what this thing was, so it would probably be best to be very careful around this child.

-She smirked, azure eyes watching as the Pokéball launched into the air. ‘It’s of no use,’ her voice almost a whisper as she trained her gaze on the weak, struggling creature. In a blast of red light, the Wingull was destined to be her as it rocked slowly before the button clicked, meaning that the bird-Pokémon was now hers without further doubt. She bent over to pick up the Pokéball, firmly gripping it within her hand.

The girl stretched, despite knowing that the fireballs were still there for her to investigate, that is, if she chose to. Her dual ponytails moved around as her head turned to survey the situation around her. A group of Chansey made their appearance out of nowhere, and upon seeing her Pokémon and Pokéball, one of them waddled up to her. However interesting the Chansey might be, there was definitely something more intriguing.

And that something came in the form of a certain man who seemed to be off his tracks.

She pondered chasing after the fireballs for a moment. The guy was really starting to look like he was losing it, his Pokémon was scalded (or worse), and for the first time in her live, she witnessed what true chaos was like. There might be Trainers everywhere scuttling to safety in this city of Tohea... ‘Thanks,’ she smiled. Despite her cold exterior, she wasn’t without her manners as she thanked the pink Pokémon for its Potion.

Wait, did that Pokémon just sign her up to head to safety? What were her chances of investigating the odd fireballs if she left with them? Or could she possibly probe deeper into the mystery before heading to safety later on? A thousand questions were asked, but none answered. She was left alone, once again as the Chansey left her, nodding to herself. At least she was cute and happy despite the terrible happenings.

Now, it was fireball time – and it was answered by a fireball coming her way. Drawing on her previous dojo experience back home, she sidestepped the fiery substance. Finding her body flinching after a small explosion coming from an exploded garbage can, when the smoke from the explosion cleared, she found herself accompanied by another creature which looked like a squid-bat hybrid.

The little thing that emerged from the smoke trotted out, and she couldn’t help but wonder whether that really was the thing that caused the apparent worry and fear of the gibberish-spouting Trainer. It looked harmless, but as they say, books shouldn’t be judged by its cover. She inhaled, resisting the urge to choke from the smoke.

‘Ryuuza, let’s get going. We’re going to the Chansey.’

But just before leaving, she aimed her Pokétech at the weird-looking Pokémon, hoping to gain some data and ground on it should she have the chance to meet them in future. A moment later, the girl and was heading after the Chansey and to safety.

‘Live to fight another day? I don’t believe in this, but matters say otherwise...’ she whispered to herself, running faster.

-Ryuuza stared at the soaring orb. Only two words were occupying his mind: chew toy. He smiled to himself, the habit of rubbing his hands together happening again. He let out a cry of happiness as the Pokéball’s lock fastened shut, indicating the successful capture of the Wingull. ‘Gon!’ said the Dragon-Pokémon, watching as his Trainer picked up the Pokéball. Chew...toy...

He wondered briefly if they were going to the green fireballs. Fire was supposed to be red or orange, but green...? He didn’t like the look of it. The little Bagon frowned, but he knew that a definite answer laid in his Trainer’s mind. He looked up at her, mouth opening slightly as he waited for a further command patiently. He could wait; time was theirs, and they could choose how to spend it themselves.

The Dragon-Pokémon stretched, yawning lightly. Adventures were everywhere for them, it was only up to them to choose what type of adventure they wanted. A sharp cry diverted his attention. Ryuuza glanced, only to see about seven or eight Chansey moving a cot down the street, and on it was the Fighting-Type Machop. It seemed wounded, perhaps burned by the fireballs. He shuddered.

He blinked as he felt a cooling sensation flow down his body. The Chansey had sprayed a Potion on him. The Bagon smiled in thanks to the Pokémon helping him. Chew Toy got a Potion too. Ryuuza bit his upper lip, before watching as the Chansey signed them up to get to safety. He wanted to be safe, away from these strange happenings he was finding a little hard to stomach.

fuu

A fireball slammed into the ground, and Ryuuza’s eyes widened. It had missed him by a hair’s length, and his Trainer managed to avoid it. He sighed in relief. As long as she wasn’t harmed, he was alright. But as soon as he recovered from the initial shock, an explosion caused him to be shocked for a second time, with the Dragon-Pokémon yelling, ‘Gon!’

Something was emerging from the clearing fog. He tried to get a closer look, but his feet were rooted to the ground. It looked odd, to say the least. Ryuuza took a step backwards. Was this the Pokémon that harmed the Machop? That means despite it being a smaller size than he imagined, it still packed a punch. Before he could do anything else, his Trainer had made a decision.

In a bright flash of red, he was sucked into the virtual simulated world of his Pokéball. Then there was the bouncing sensation of running. Where was she running to? He didn’t know, but he hoped that she’ll be safe. His safety didn’t matter; hers did.

As you turned around to run, you had pointed your Poketech at the little thing. Expecting it to read out whatever was happening, all you got was "No information available". Obviously this was an exclusive Pokémon that had never been seen before. Oh well, you didn't have to bother with this thing at all, right? A passing Rattata seemed to think otherwise. It shrank away from the little creature almost fearfully, to which the creature responded with a calm "Cth....". Waddling towards the mouse like a baby, the thing ran off into a nearby hole.

The weird-looking thing from the fireball then shoved one of its stubby little arms into the hole and let out a small chirp of satisfaction as it felt the varmint's tail. It had apparently upset a whole burrow; the adult Rattata and three babies ran out in alarm. Quick as a whip, the baby thing's small tentacle things around its unseen mouth extended, wrapping around all of the babies. The adult had been able to escape, and you wondered what the ugly baby from space would do with the cute Rattata infants from your own planet. Use them as play toys or rattles?

Neither. Instead, the thing's tentacles seemed to vanish as it elevated the baby rats into the air; by how the air would shimmer now and again, you knew that the tentacles were still there, just invisible. By and by the little Rattata were all losing their health, and they seemed physically and mentally sick. In fact, the little baby thing from the fireball seemed to be growing in size...and health. As the horrified Rattata parent watched, the thing's tentacles reappeared and relinquished their hold on the infant mice; the whole situation was sickening, as the little babies were now lifeless. And the thing you had passed over before? It was now five feet tall.

Grieved as it was over its babies, the Rattata had had enough. It tried to escape, but the previously-ugly-and-now-uglier thing was able to suck the thing's life force out the same way like a parasite. Needless to say your escape was impeded by the new Pokémon carcasses that the monster had cast away. Tripping, you tried to scramble to your feet before you realized that the thing had already bound your left ankle; struggling against it, you turned around and found yourself face-to-face with a being who was at least eight feet tall. Talk about a growth spurt!

:... :genderless Lv. 7

(Normally its level won't change when it does that, but it's considered experience for the thing if it "kills" Pokémon until captured by a human. Don't worry, it's a rare occurrence)

-She glanced up at the monstrous creature towering above her, yet fear had not sunk into her body. Perhaps it had sunk in too deep, too deep before she realized it had happened. She glanced over at the Pokémon carcasses, hands groping for her pockets to dig around for that one needed item. Things came when she didn't want them to - and they don't appear when she needed them.

A quiet moment descended upon them, just like in a show where everything just goes all quiet and menacing while doom befalls one of the actors. The sole hitch in this situation was that she, herself, the girl, was the player in this situation. A small hiss escaped her lips. She knew when she was cornered.

Fighting this creature was futile...she needed to get out of her. Ryuuza was stored safely within his cage-of-sorts, but she wasn't placing aside the possibility that whatever it was that was facing her probably had the ability to pop open a Pokeball to get to the contents within if one of its pointed fingers found their way unto the clasp.

There, she found it!

The 'item found' chime sounded within her mind as she took out a small Pokeball - one that was not in its expanded state. Growling inwardly, she inhaled before drawing her breath, pulling her hand containing the Pokeball backwards, and then hurling them at the being before her.

'Here goes nothing...or something...' she muttered to herself, ready to make a break for it if it was absorbed into the Pokeball for just a moment.

For all she knew, the thing could just brush the orb away, turn on her, and bring upon her eyes the words GAME OVER.

The creature began a long, odd sounding yowl, but it was cut off when your pokeball hit it square in the face. Its red eyes widened from the pain, and for just one fraction of a second, you saw anguish pass through its gaze. It was as if this odd Pokémon from the sky... Had never felt pain before. Was it possible? You surely didn't know. All you cared about was escaping, and now was your perfect chance.

Breaking away from the scene you had been entangled in against your will, you turned tail and ran. You got about ten long strides into your escape before you heard the common 'ping' of a Pokémon being captured. The sound had come from behind you. You turned, thoroughly confused. It shouldn't have happened so easily... But the unknown Pokémon was yours now. The ball had stopped moving, and the creature was nowhere in sight. You had captured it.

Moving cautiously toward the ball, you picked it slowly up. So the weird creature had been a Pokémon after all.

What an odd day this was turning out to be!

And then, when you looked back up... There she was. A beautiful blonde girl, coming toward you, a squirtle at her side. Who was this girl? What was she doing there? You didn't know. Best find out.

[[ Cthooloo x1 added. Also, both you and Alexis will post in this thread from now until your split. ]]
