Lotad moved forward slowly, sniffing at the Grimer, then backing away swiftly as the rotten smell of the poison Pokémon reached its nostrils. Other then that brief instant none of the Pokémon seemed to have any major problems with your new additions. In fact, they all seemed quite pleased with the two new team members. As the Pokémon start to get to know each other better Abra teleports into your lap and the two of you start to take a brief nap.

A few hours later, as the feel of dawn approached, you awoke with all of the Pokémon spread on your chair in various places, each one sleeping happily snuggled up against each other….except for the Grimer that is, who was asleep on the bed beside you. You try sitting up slowly, trying not to disturb the peaceful Pokémon. As softly as you move the Pokémon still wake up. First is Lotad, who jumps up and starts shaking itself vigorously. This, in turn, causes Zigzagoon to get up and stretch, his tail slowly inching towards the Grimer.

As his tail touches Zigzagoon shivers in disgust and jumps up, and proceeds to run wildly about the room. This causes Grimer to wake up and release a foul smelling cloud, which reaches out and touches Abra, causing it to grab onto you and teleports you out into the middle of the Pokémon center. As you look around in wonder you realize what happened and make your way back to the room. You walk in to the mayhem and start calming Pokémon down, whispering quietly and pulling out food for them. Well, that was interesting, I wonder if all your mornings are going to be like that. How are you going to react to a morning like that?

Jake grinned as all 5 of his Pokémon managed to get along to some extent. Abra soon teleported onto Jake's lap and soon after all fell asleep. All 6 of them, Jake included, fell into a deep slumber and did not wake up for several hours after drifting off to sleep. It had been the first time Jake had slept so far.

Jake yawned and stretched out his arms and legs. Lotad awoke after him and Zigzagoon after that. Budew, Abra and Grimer seemed to awake themselves at similar times. Zigzagoon had stretched out his tail and had hit the repulsive sludge that was Grimer, this had cause Zigzagoon to go slightly crazy.

Grimer was a little confused to and released a cloud of toxic gas. In that instant, Abra managed to use her teleportation powers to get him safely out of the room. She had helped him and possibly saved his life! This was an Abra whom he now owed devotion and training to. Jake had appeared in the middle of the now crowded Pokémon Center. It was now daylight.

With Abra positioned atop his head where she now seemed to favour sitting, Jake approached the room which he had dematerialised from. He walked past many people to get to the room. He opened the door slightly and could see the poison mist still lurking there. "Come on guys, let's go!" He shouted into the room. They were going to get ready bright and early!

Every trainer across the world has to have their stamina rested every once in awhile. Especially one who needs to train five individual Pokémon who get constantly annoying from their unique abilities. You have yourself a handful, don't you? Well, that's what you get for catching a freaking Grimer that can knock you out with it's toxic fumes, but what you want now is breakfast.

The main foyer was clearly filled with other trainers who were staying overnight in the Pokémon Center. Most of them had some green trays in their hands and were standing a line for breakfast in the cafeteria. While they were in line, every single one of them were chatting about some sort of tournament being held across Amear, Tilinity, and Tohea but the preliminaries were being held in Hurst first.

The entire Pokémon Center was live with this sort of topic and as you were listening a spontaneous beeping sound alarmed from your Poketch. A serendipitous announcement swept over your Poketch screen and had the full explanation on the tournament that everyone was talking about and the date that the registration deadline was. Too bad you're all the way in Wayford or else you could get to the preliminaries.

Fortunately the tournament was going to be held on all major cities, but Hurst was going to get all the action first. So you still had some time left before having to battle, but the registration deadline is shorter than you think. Fortunately, the registration form was attached to the announcement so you could enter there.

That's all well and all but breakfast is the most important part of day so grabbing a tray and getting in line wouldn't be such a bad idea. What? Pokémon don't just go wild in a Pokécenter for no apparent reason. Well, except for the crazy Ponyta that had just bursted through the glass doors.

Jake walked and swerved through the people trying to get to the exit of the building with his Pokémon whom he had just collected from the poisonous gas filled room. Abra was still atop his head with Budew in his arms and Lotad, Zigzagoon and Grimer walking closely behind him, Grimer looking slightly sorry for the trouble he had caused.

Jake finally reached the middle of the large room full of people wating to have their Pokémon healed or just wait for People. It really was obscene to have just one Poke Center per City. There would be much less overcrowding if there was another. But obviously that would cost money.

Jake checked his Poketch which seemed to be emitting a high pitched beeping noise. A message had come through. Jake scrolled through to read it. There was a competition! It looked like the preliminaries wouldn't be visiting Wayford for a while, but it would be reassuring to know that he had a palce secured. With that Jake sent the registration via his Poketch.

Jake felt like maybe a spot of breakfast was in order for him and all his Pokémon and picked up a tray. Unfortunately there was no time for food for any of them. A Ponyta had just entered the building and was going wild. Many people were now in danger from this fire horse. But why had it entered the building, or even the city?

Jake didn't have time to wait about for an answer, people were defenceless and it didn't seem like many people were going to do anything about it. So who was? Of course, old muggins here. Maybe this would be a good chance for him to test Abra'a battling capabilities and he took her off his head and placed her on the floor in front of him.

"Okay Abra, I want you to go up to the Ponyta with an agility, then use your egg move, then get back ehre with a teleport!" Jake said. It seemed like a good plan, but with every plan came a vital flaw. This would also show if Abra had any unique moves, this was going to be an interesting battle.

(Btw, the egg move is Knock Off, I just wanted to roleplay it with my character)

As you ordered, your Abra shot off towards the Ponyta with a standard Agility. The real task at here was to beat the hell out of this horse and see why it just barged into a quiet facility like that. Fortunately, Abra was on the case and has already confronted the Ponyta face-to-face. The Ponyta faltered and stared at your Abra with tears sliding around her eyes. Why would the thing be crying do you ask?

The Ponyta whimpered something to Abra and then she responded with a human voice so you could understand. A barb stuck stuck on your hooves that won't come off? Here, I think I can help. And with that Abra examined the Ponyta's front-right leg and located the problem. A Poison Barb was stuck inside the Ponyta's fur.

So your Abra gently pulled it out so it wouldn't cause the Ponyta any excessive pain and the Ponyta smiled and thanked her in a neigh and quietly left the Pokécenter as if nothing ever happened. But then it reentered the Pokécenter with a puzzled look and didn't know what to do. Abra had no idea either and teleported back to you and showed the Poison Barb to you.

Now what? The Ponyta was only here because she had a very agonizing arrow stuck in her leg. You could battle her, but that would cause some sort of a fiasco in this place, wouldn't it? Then Abra began to speak to you after the Ponyta called after her with a few grunts. She wishes to come with me. She had lost her family and now is trying to regain herself by finding a new one. She felt something odd in me that told her that she should join. But you're the one with the capturing device; I'm not sure you even have any left.

Stuck in these kinds of situations would be a bit complex and awkward, but sometimes satisfying as well. You now have yourself a very useful item, and a chance to get ahead with a level ten Pokémon! Not like you already have enough to take care of and raise~

[You found 1 Poison Barb. I will add this to your inventory]

Jake smiled at his Abra as she handed him the delicate barb that would enhance the power of Poison type attacks. This would certainly come in handy for his Budew in later stages. What Jake had found more interesting though was that Abra had communicated with Jake via telepathy, she was his link to communicating with his Pokémon!

The Ponyta had now returned to the building with an arrow in her leg. That wouldn't be causing her too much comfort now would it? Jake walked over to the horse at a fairly slow pace, as not to startle the poor thing. She was probably already scared out of her wits, leaping towards her would not solve things.

Jake patted her on the head and examined the wound where the arrow still was. It was too deep to be pulled out, Nurse Joy would have to look at it. Jake slowly led the Ponyta to the desk, her limping on her bad leg didn't help things. "Nurse Joy, this Ponyta has an arrow in her leg, can you see what you can do about it?" Jake asked.

Jake then turned his attention to the crowd in the Poke Center. He needed to address all of them and spoke with the loudest voice he could muster. "Excuse me everyone, I need some help!" He yelled. "If anyone has a spare Pokeball that they're willing to sell can they come to the front please!" He shouted, hopefully someone would step forward, he would pay the same price as they sell in the shops so they weren't getting a bad deal were they?

Nurse Joy looked up from some quick paperwork and frowned in the direction of the Ponyta. Instantly, she beckoned for some Chansey to help the horse on a stretcher so that she wouldn't have to limp into the infirmary by herself. Three of the larger Chansey immediately rushed out with a large stretcher and carefully lifted the injured horse onto it and wheeled her away. Finishing a few things hastily, Nurse Joy shortly followed.

The Center around you was rather packed with trainers for various reasons, most notably their hurt or injured Pokémon. A few other Nurses under Nurse Joy were on duty, and plenty of Chansey and Blissey were rushing about. Yet, the noise levels were atrocious, so few people could hear your pleas for a spare and ever-so-common Pokeball.

An older man that was sick of your yelling pitched a spare Pokeball towards you, hoping that you'd shut up; he had just been dozing off despite the loud atmosphere when you had started yelling practically in his ear. Luckily, the Pokeball didn't activate, and you successfully caught it without being sucked inside. Now, step three, find the Ponyta and confine her in a Pokeball.

After a few minutes, you were allowed back to the RU (Recovery Unit), where the Ponyta's leg had been dealt with and patched up. The horse looked slightly happier, and was now sleeping peacefully. It was odd how she'd wound up in a town, since Ponyta were not urban Pokémon. More than likely, she had been abandoned or had lost her real trainer.

The Pokeball immediately activated, sucking the horse in with a flash of red light. It wiggled for a few seconds, but with little resistance, the ball locked in about a moment. You had caught the Ponyta!...sort of. She had been a willing target, and not all Pokémon are willing.

Seeing this business done, the Chansey wheeled the stretcher away and made room for other Pokémon. You no longer had any business here, and soon you found yourself back out on the street. You needed a breather, so what were you going to do now? Stay around Wayford and explore it some more, or travel elsewhere?

Jake clipped the Pokeball to his belt. This was the final addition to his team at the moment, he could fit no other Pokémon onto his team and now any Pokémon he caught would be sent to a lab to be stored. Jake looked at the new addition on his belt, maybe it would be fair to let her out of her Pokeball for a bit.

Jake unclipped the ball and lightly tossed it into the air where a rapid motion of white light occurred and before him stood his new fire horse Pokémon. This would make travelling much more faster, but he wasn't ready to leave Wayford just yet, he needed money, and a lot of it, maybe it was time for him to get a job.

Jake stepped outside the building with Budew still in his arms, Abra still on his head, and all his other Pokémon following close behind him. Jake pondered what he would do for a job though, and where could he apply for a job? Jake began touring the city looking for a building that could possibly be a job center.

Jake had concluded that some of the jobs he would want most were either a breeder, a Pokémon researcher or someone that worked with water Pokémon. Jake loved fathering babies so he'd be good at a breeder. But he was also quite intelligent so maybe a job in researching was right for him. But he also loved water Pokémon. He would just have to see what jobs they had.

As you make your way through the town you spot a quite official looking building a few blocks away. You start walking towards it, trying to figure out if that’s the building you want, when you see a sign hanging from it. “Odd jobs” and figure that’s the one you want. You arrive at the building, a large grey building with two windows on the first floor and two windows on the second floor.

A large brown door rests on its hinges, mostly open and beckoning you t enter. You enter and find yourself in a large room with white walls, white chairs, a white desk, and a receptionist. You walk up to the receptionist and she looks at you from behind her bespectacled dark blue eyes. “Yes, can I help you?” She asks in a raspy voice.

You inform her of your interest in a job and she points at a bulletin board against one of the walls. You make your way to it and find only one job remaining. The description is as follows. “Needed, one brave trainer willing to explore the Sewer system. We’ve had problems with the system for a few days now and require someone willing to go in and find out what’s wrong. Pay is $400 if you find the problem. 600 if you fix it.”

Well, that looked promising, maybe you should see about that one, seeing as how there isn’t any left. Might as well go talk to the receptionist again and get some more information.

Jake looked at the one job remaining and groaned. The sewers? It wasn't something that particularly perked Jake's interests or something he really wanted to do but money was money and Jake had no choice if he wanted to earn some. The sewers though? Who knew what was living down there?

Jake walked back to the receptionist who seemed to be rather hostile to him asking for a job. Obviously she had no time because she was so swamped out by crosswords and Sudoku. He needed to know the essential information like how he could get into the sewers, anything in particular he was looking for and who was going to be paying him.

"Erm, excuse me?" Jake asked the woman. "Where can I enter the sewers for this job?" He asked again. "I also need to know if there is anything I need to look out for and whom is going to be paying me." Jake finished. Hopefully the woman could spare some time from looking at number nine across.

Jake then addressed Abra whom was still sitting atop his head. "Okay Abra, I need you to memorize this place so we can teleport back here if in danger or if we need more money." Jake said. It would be quite handy having this little Abra on his team. Abra nodded and began looking round the entire room trying to memorize every little detail from the reception desk to the tiny cracks in the corners of the room.

After Abra had finished memorizing the room and the receptionist had answered his questions he would walk out and find the entrance to the sewers and climb down. If it was a sewer then this surely would be Grimer's time to shine? At some point Grimer must have lived down there so Grimer might know what was wrong!

She looked at you and blinked a few times before replying. "We have the reward here in the officers upstairs" She said, she was chewing gum and emotionlessly looked at you while blowing a bubble and letting it pop almost in your face. "There are manholes all over town, infact, theres one just outside the building and down the street to the left." She said, well that was convinient! She seemed sarcastic when she gave you the information, but being the better person, you ignored it and went on your way.

As you walked out, you looked down the street on your left and began to travel down there. It wasn't hard to see the rather large manhole in the center of the street. And, for some reason... The hole wasn't covered up, there was no grid... hmmm...

Nevertheless, you began to climb down the ladder, it was a long way down, but you finally got to the bottom. It stunk, under you was a shallow stream of water. And above you was small light boxes stretching the whole way down the tunnel. You had two ways to go, forward or backwards. Its up to you. The smell seemed to be coming from infront of you, wether that meant something I didn't know.

Jake climbed down to the bottom of the ladder and a horrid stench met his nostrils. What was that? Actually, when Jake came o think about it, he didn't want to know. The smell seemed to be coming from directly in front of him, Jake didn't know what that meant, maybe it was just clogged up there or something, Jake didn't know.

Jake was now in a dilemma, he could either go left or right. But which way would elad him to the problem. Jake thought it'd be best to go to the right, him being right handed and everything, but it was always good in these types of situations for someone to get a second opinion on the matter at hand.

Jake tossed up 3 Pokeballs into the air. After 3 simultaneous flashes of light, in front of him were his 3 latest additions to his team; Abra, Grimer and Ponyta. Grimer may have lived down here at some point and might know the place and what was wrong with it. Abra was a psychic type and might be able to see what the problem is. And ponyta, well Jake always liked the light.

"Okay everyone," Jake felt it was only fair that he consulted Ponyta as well. "Which way do we go?" He asked them all. They all seemed to point to the same direction. Left. Oh well he was outnumbered, Jake wasn't sure if Grimer did live down here and know the place or Abra did know the cause, it was all guess work, but Jake had picked his Pokémon for the job well.

Your Pokémon were right in the route they picked, but obviously being the right choice came with a consequence, you would find out a little further down in this ref.

As you began to walk down the tunnel, Ponyta lead the way to give abit more light than what was given to you beforehand. It wasn't long before your Pokémon stopped, each one of them feeling or hearing something as they began to growl there names viciously at whatever was ahead. Ponyta began to gallop ahead as the tunnel all of a sudden widened into a large room. The room was filled with about 6-8 tunnels going different ways, and above was another manhole. Several tunnels were blocked off with rocks and waste.

Pearing around, there was red eyes gleaming at you from several tunnels. From one tunnel, a Koffing began to hover out towards you and your Pokémon. Another tunnel shown a Shinx coming out towards you. And the only other tunnel that wasn't blocked off shown a Elekid emerged, waving its arms quickly.

This was bad, they didn't look happy.

Jake looked at the three Pokémon whom had just entered the large room from various tunnels. A shinx had appeared from one, an electric type. A Koffing had entered from another and was a Poison type. Neither of them particularly took Jake's interest in the slightest. Electric and Poison types didn't really do it for Jake.

But the final Pokémon, entered the room. Jake couldn't believe it, it was an Elekid! What luck, even though it was an electric type, Electivire, which was it's highest evolution, was one of Jake's favourite Pokémon. Jake was going to capture it! All 3 of his Pokémon could easily take on the opponents and win.

But Jake liked to be different, he liked to spice things up a bit. So for the first time, Jake was going to put all 6 of his Pokémon into battle, and with that he tossed his final 3 pokeballs into the air. Another 3 flashes of light later, and there stood Budew, Lotad and Zigzagoon, all ready to battle with these sewer Pokémon.

Now it was 2 on 1 and this battle would be over in no time. He paired them up as quickly as he could. The lower leveled Pokémon in his team would take on Koffing, the higher leveled ones, Elekid and the other 2 would go for Shinx. Jake had utmost confidence in all6 of them but it would be Elekid's battle he would be monitoring most.

The match ups were as follows, Budew and Lotad taking on Koffing, even though a type advantage was in Koffing's favour, a level advantage was in Jakes. Abra and Zigzagoon would be taking on Shinx whom no-one had an advantage on. And finally, Grimer and Ponyta were going against Elekid, this would be the most recent three's first battle with Jake.

"Okay, Lotad use a Razor Leaf on Koffing and knock him off guard, then Budew you follow that up with a Leaf Storm and knock down Koffing into the ground." "If Koffing tries to attack, Lotad, use a Razor Leaf and make sure you protect Budew at all costs" Jake said. "Try the leaf shrouding if it gets bad," Jake finished.

Jake then turned his attention to the next group whilst the grass Pokémon let off their leaf attacks. "Okay Abra I want you to teleport behind Shinx, then Zigzagoon rush up to Shinx with a skull bash," Jake said. "Then whilst she's still dazed, use a Knock Off Abra!" Jake yelled wanting to get all of this just right.

Now it was the final and most important group. "Okay Grimer, I want you to use a Mud Slap on Elekid to lower his accuracy and deal some major damage." Jake said. "Now Ponyta, I want you to use a Flame Wheel!" Flame wheel? Where had that come from, Jake didn't even know if Ponyta knew Flame Wheel! Regardless Jake would have to watch and see how the battle turned out.

(By the way, Ponyta does know Flame Wheel as an Egg Move)

Holy crap i hated you right now, this is not what i signed up for! Im just kidding but, your getting a slap when i meet you.

Koffing began to shoot a sludge from its holes, Agiley your Pokémon Dodged as they were just about to . Lotad swung its body around sending out a few leafs which hit Koffing moderately hard. It almost laughed at your Lotad to say, "is that it?" Until it seen what your Budew was doing, tons of leafs in a green aura pounded into the koffing sending it into the walls of the sewer, it wasn't the move that hurt, it was the wall.

Zigzagoon had began shooting out towards Shinx. Shinx looked evil, it rolled to the side dodging the move at the last second, skillfully and barely breaking a sweat. It then turned round to see Abra who quickly knocked it backwards with a Knock off attack, doing a somewhat moderate damage toll. Shinx got up and tackled into Abra to give some revenge.

Now for the one you had waited to read this ref for. Grimer swiped the ground sending out a horizontal slurry of mud with covered the Elekid's eyes. It began to rotate its arms heavily generating alot of electricity in a panic. Now your Ponyta rolled into some sort of fire wheel and then rolled towards the blind Elekid. Elekid was still waving its arms, and the two collided generating alot of energy which sent out tons of sparks and flames into the roof of the sewer. Both Pokémon were pushing against each other hard, there hp slowly going down as they did. But neither budged, tough Pokémon. Grimer just watched, waiting for you to make an order. It couldn't even get close to the two as the powerfully pushed, one going forward and then the other doing the same.
