Jake looked blankly at the newly hatched Pokémon on is team. For a few moments, Jake felt nothing, no love, no joy, no hatred. Then suddenly it had hit him. This Pokémon was his! A grin that seemed far too big for Jake's face crept upon him. He slowly picked up his Budew as if it was the most sacred Pokémon in the world. He had always wanted a Budew! And now he had one. This Pokémon was all his, yet if it weren't for the young lad from earlier he wouldn't have the bud Pokémon now would he? But maybe this Budew was living breathing proof that if you stuck at something, and did the right thing, the things you wanted would come to you. Now he had Budew, he had the first Pokémon on his dream team. He now only had to find 5 more. He smiled at the Budew whom seemed to smile back. "Hey there little guy," Jake said to the Pokémon. "I'm your daddy." He said. He sounded extremely babyish, but talking to a baby Pokémon, what did you expect? He still needed to introduce his Zigzagoon to Belle's and both Lotad and Zigzagoon needed to greet the new member of their team. Jake took the two Pokeballs from his belt with his spare hand and tossed them into the air where after a brief display of white light, Lotad and Zigzagoon were standing in front of him. "This is our new team member," Jake said to his Pokémon. What would be their reaction to this new baby Pokémon. |

Your Zigzagoon and Lotad looked at the Budew for a few seconds, as if trying to decide whether or not they were going to like the baby Budew. Lotad took a hesitant step forward, sniffed the Budew, and grinned happily. “Lotad tad,” it said and nodded in confirmation that it did indeed like the newest addition, quickly followed by the Zigzagoon. Belle quickly voiced her own admiration of the grass Pokémon. “That’s a cute Pokémon you got there, now remember to take good care of it. I have to be heading out, I got places to go and Pokémon to catch, see ya later,” she said and headed out. As you sat there admiring your new Budew a man walked up and looked at you. “Excuse me; I was wondering if you would be interested in a battle. I know a good place to have one.” He said, and motioned out towards a fountain about 15 feet from the door. As you stepped out to check over the place he tossed a Pokeball out towards the water. A water Pokémon appeared in the water. “this is Carvanha, he’s not to strong, I just want to try to train him a bit more, so please if you would go a bit easy on him I would appreciate it.” The man said and looked at you, wondering if you would take his challenge or not. Jake was led outside by a man whom was requesting a battle from him. After tossing a pokeball into the air and an eruption of bright white light from within this tiny red and white orb, a piranha type Pokémon known as Carvanha was swimming in the sea next to them. The man wanted him to go slightly easy on the Pokémon but Jake knew one Pokémon who also needed the training on his team. Even though he had only just hatched, Jake was going to be sending Budew into the battle. He had total trust and faith in this baby Pokémon, and like all his others, knew that he would try his best in order to win. Jake wasn't sure but it seemed that the Budew might have had an egg move. They would have to test this out in the battle, maybe if it was a ranged one then they wouldn't have to go near the Piranha Pokémon and be caught by an attack. Jake set down Budew and gently tapped it as to step forward. Budew looked slightly worried but Jake gave him a re-assuring smile and his nerves seemed to perk up a bit. For any type of Pokémon to go into a battle literally 5 seconds after hatching would be nervous. But hopefully Budew would be able to master his fear and pull of a win. "Okay Budew," Jake said in his babyish voice. "I want you to try and do your egg move on that Carvanha over there okay?" Jake asked nicely. He wasn't going to ask too much of Budew at this stage, the poor Pokémon would definitely become confused by all these different commands so he would just have to put up with it and start simple. “bud?” Your Budew asked as you told it to use its egg move. It thought for a second, trying to comprehend the request and grinned as it understood. “Buu…deeew!” It said and released a huge storm of leaves as it used its egg move, leaf storm. The leaves flew straight and true through the air, aimed directly at the unsuspecting Carvanha. The Carvanha was most definitely not prepared for an attack of this magnitude. Albeit your Budew was newly born it seemed to have an instinct to fight that came out in that attack. It grinned victoriously as the attack hit and turned to grin at you. “Carvanha, Hydro pump,” the man said and the Carvanha peaked its head over the edge and unleashed the fury of its own egg move upon your Budew. Luckily for you your Budew was resistant to water attacks and only received light damage, were as the Carvanha had taken a lot more do to weakness. Well, the first round hadn’t been to bad, especially for your new Budew, lets see if it could finish the fight in the next turn. Jake stood there and stared at Budew, awestruck. How could something that small produce such power? Jake had been expecting something small like synthesis or sleep powder. He had definitely not expected Leaf Storm from his Baby Budew. This made Jake even more glad that this small flower was his. It looked like already Budew had taken a considerable amount of Carvanha's health away. Jakes smugness was cut short however as Carvanha unleashed his own egg move. Hydro Pump. It seemed that both Pokémon were extremely powerful and had extremely powerful moves. But Budew had the type advantage here and this was were Budew would shine the most. It wouldn't take that long now before Carvanha was down and out for the count. "Well done Budew," Jake said smiling at his Budew. For a first ever attack Budew had done fantastically well. "Now Budew, that's called Leaf Storm, I want you to use it again on Carvanha okay?" Jake asked of his Pokémon whom seemed to understand fully this time. "Then after that I want you to do it again and you should've won by then!" Jake said excitedly. |

“Carvanha, if the little Pokémon sends any more leaves I want you to counter with hydro pump ok? If you find an opening go for it.” The man told his Carvanha, making sure to give simple commands as well. Your Budew moved closer to the water, making sure to keep his eyes on the Carvanha, after an attack like the one the water Pokémon had used it didn’t want to suffer again. He decided to try a bit of tactical moves and started moving from side to side, trying to confuse the piranha Pokémon and make him make a mistake. What genius for someone who has just hatched, either that or he has some very good fighting instincts, either way the move worked. The Carvanha quickly grew bored of the movement and fired a powerful hydro pump again, as your Budew waddled quickly out of the way, barely missing the edge of the water. Budew let out another blast of leaves, followed quickly by a second in case the first missed. Fortunately for you the Carvanha was a bit tired from the hydro pump and took both attacks head on. After a few seconds of glaring at your Budew it closed its eyes and fainted in the water. Congratulations you won this battle. “Good job Carvanha, you did very well, I appreciate your hard work. And to you young trainer, that’s one powerful Pokémon you got there, I liked the battle, we should have another one some day, my name is Tim.” The older man said and held out his hand to shake. He recalled his Carvanha and headed back to the Pokémon center, obviously needing to heal his Carvanha again. Lv. 3 21/25 46% 6/30Congratulations, your Budew gained 36 exp. Jake ran up to his Budew and gave it a huge hug. He was so proud of him. The first battle and he had taken out the opposing Pokémon in 2 rounds of attacks! This Budew was truly special. He even managed to improvise a strategy all on his own! Jake held Budew out in front of him and smiled. Budew smiled back. He held Budew close to his chest now and kept moving with his Zigzagoon and Lotad close by his side. They probably needed to head back to the Poke center again being that Budew had used an extremely powerful move 3 times. It probably took a lot out of the small thing. They retreated back to the center which wasn't too far away. Jake knew that after he had been to the center he would wade through the town in search of a shop, or someone that sold rods. Then after that he would head to the nearby lake. But first thing was first, he would have to heal up Budew. He stepped back through the clear sliding doors to the front desk. Your Budew was indeed tired, and it definitely deserved a nice long nap after a battle like that, He curled up in your arms and started napping. He snored faintly and mumbled in his sleep, his face scrunching up from time to time. It looked like the little Pokémon was reliving the battle, and was triumphant yet again. You smile down at your little Pokémon as you reach the front desk. Nurse joy comes walking over. “Yes, may I,” she stops as she sees the sleeping Budew in your arms and smiles warmly. “Ok, I’ll quiet down, if you’ll follow me I have a place you can put him so he can sleep if you want,” she whispered and lead you down a hall into a room in the back. A recliner was in the room, as well as a small white bed for your Pokémon if you wanted to put him there, “I recommend sleep for him, you might as well let your other Pokémon out so they can bond more with you and the Budew, and I would recommend all of you taking the chair rather then separating from that Budew.” She said and turned and headed out. Well, were you going to follow her advice and take a nap with your Budew? Or were you going to ignore her and do what ya wanted? |

Jake merely smiled at the Nurse as she departed from the room. He sat himself in the recliner in one corner of the room after letting his Budew sleep on the bed. The poor thing must have been absolutely exhausted from the recent battle. The recliner was surprisingly much more comfortable than he had expected. He managed to get cosy in the chair as he kept a sharp eye on Budew. He didn't mistrust him, he was extremely protective of the Bud Pokémon. Lotad and Zigzagoon leaped onto his lap and were the only two whom didn't seem to be able to settle down. Eventually they tired themselves out and curled up on Jakes knees. Jake looked at them and smiled. They were still so young, it was his duty to keep watch over all 3 of them. They were now his responsibility and he had to keep them close to him at all times. It was odd, despite all this travelling and adventure, Jake didn't feel tired in the slightest. It must have been his Paternal instinct. He would stay awake to watch over them. He couldn't go yet, he would just have to wait for all 3 to wake up from their deep sleep. It had been a busy day for all 3 of his Pokémon. Hopefully they would arouse from their sleep refreshed and energised for more battles and adventures. |

You stay awake for the next 4 hours, watching over your peacefully sleeping Pokémon. As the night rolls on you wonder around the room from time to time, looking out the window occasionally, watching the moon shift places in the sky. As the night continues you hear a noise outside the window and spot two Pokémon in the alley beside the Pokémon center. As you look closer a wild Abra and a wild Grimer are fighting out in the alley. As you watch the two continue fighting, trading blows and progressively getting more and more tired as their energy fell lower and lower until, finally, they just sit there on the ground, unable to move more then their eyes. What luck, two Pokémon laying there, completely helpless and ready to be caught if you could either hurry out there or lean out the window and through two Pokeballs. What were you going to do? Jake leaned out the window further to get a closer look. An Abra and a Grimer, both just sitting there. Begging to be caught! This was too much of an opportunity to miss out on. Jake ran from the building to the exact alley where the two scrapping Pokémon were before. During this fast paced run, Jake had retrieved two Pokeballs from his bag, the only two he had left. Jake arrived at the entrance to the alley and looked to where he had once been. The two Pokémon were still there. Both looking extremely helpless, there shouldn't be too much of a fight here should there. Both Pokémon were extremely weak, but if they did decide to fight back, well what would happen then. Jake tried not to think too much on that, besides he was near the window and could easily call for Lotad and Zigzagoon to help him out. Jake pressed the button on both balls and enlarged them, he then tossed them at both the toxic sludge Pokémon and the Sleepy Psychic Pokémon. Hopefully they would both catch their target. |

The two Pokeballs flew through the air, hitting both Pokémon on the head and sucking them in with a bright red beam. The balls shook for a few seconds, as both Pokémon tried to escape, but it was useless as the two Pokémon were already tired from their battle. As the two balls stop shaking you go to pick them up, wondering what they were fighting over. Then you see something out of the corner of your eyes. Against the wall is a small circular case with writing on it. You pick the item up and clean off the gunk that was on it and look to see what it says. “Focus punch.” As you look at the case you notice a latch on the side and click it, causing the case to open, revealing a small circular disk that can only be one thing. A TM, useable one time but can be used to teach a Pokémon a great move, especially one like Focus punch. You head back towards the Pokémon center; armed with your two new Pokémon as well as the TM they had been fighting over. You wondered if this happened often as you walked into the center, intent on healing the two new Pokémon. Well, look at that, you got new Pokémon and a cool TM, what a night this turned out to be. |

Jake smiled at the swag he had just obtained. So he now had two new Pokémon to his team, bumping the total up to 5. And now he also had a TM as well. Jake picked up the two pokeballs, he would need to buy some more before he set out fishing, he might need to get some more money first. Jake entered the building again and approached the front desk to whom he hoped, Nurse Joy or someone would be there and waiting to heal his two newly acquired team members. It wouldn't take too long and then he could go back into the room where his other Pokémon slept. It wouldn't be long now until it was sunrise. He placed the two Pokeballs containing Abra and Grimer on the counter and waited for the person behind the counter to take them, heal them and hand them back. They soon would be able to step back out upon a bright new day, full of battles, Pokémon and everything in between. Could it possibly top this day? |

As you approach the desk Nurse Joy starts making her way towards the counter, and then takes your Pokeballs. “It’s a nice night isn’t it?” She asks, obviously making small talk to relieve the all too common boredom that comes with spending a majority of her life in the center. She healed your Pokémon and handed them back to you. “Well, have a nice night,” she said and disappeared in a room behind the counter. You turn and start to head towards the room that has your Pokémon in it. As you enter the room you see all of the Pokémon staring at you intently, your Zigzagoon notices the Pokeballs and starts sniffing them as you sit down. It’s obvious that they know what you just did and they are interested in meeting their new companions. Well, what do you think? Think you should introduce them to the group? It might be a good idea; you never know they could end up being good friends. What’s the worst that could happen? |

Jake smiled at his Zigzagoon's inquisitiveness. It was slightly amusing about his curiosity for near almost anything. Was there anything he didn't want to know? Would he only stop when his thirst for knowledge had been fully quenched? Who knew? Budew and Lotad had also gathered around him in hopes of seeing a new team member. Well they were all in for a big treat. He didn't have one new team member. Oh no. He had two, both of which Jake knew would make a contribution to the team. They could now effectively cover up many of their weaknesses. Jake lightly tossed the two Pokeballs into the air where after a small display of white light and flashes, was a collection of Purple gunk and an extremely tired looking Pokémon. Grimer and Abra stood there, well Grimers couldn't stand but you get the picture. Jake only prayed that they would all get along. Zigzagoon and Lotad had done so well with Budew, could they do the same again? |
