Your first journey with a grass type Pokémon! Surely your Lotad would enjoy the sun beaming across Wayford, the white buildings glowing with the sun's energy as people went from place to place with little notice to others. Why should they care about a newcomer to the city like you? They were too busy trying to do their errands, after all, than to help you. A couple of people even bumped into you to enhance that fact.

A single trainer in the middle of the city simply smirked as people were seemingly becoming confused around him. As they neared his form, they began to wobble as if dizzy and slowly walked away dazed, knowing where to go next. A slight traffic jam of sorts happened straight in the middle as more and more people became confused. What was this trainer doing to force such a reaction?

That's when you saw the boy's Ralts. Standing on the ground between the trainer's legs was a small Ralts, looking at each person when they were about to become confused. The boy simply enjoyed the chaos he was creating within the city, smiling in pleasure and confidence. "What's wrong, confused?" He asked someone. "Maybe you should simply get out of my way." Obviously he seemed like a snob as well, his nose in the air with red curly hair dangling around his face.

There were a lot of people becoming dazed, and using Pokémon against people wasn't safe, was it? Besides, this boy was simply being cruel just because he could be. Someone really needed to give him a lesson, if you were interested. Maybe. The people around you barely noticed you existed, so why should you care about them, right? Your call.

Jake smiled at the hustle and bustle of the city around him. It was busy and Jake managed to blend in quite well and stay relatively unnoticed, which suited him just fine if truth be told. However his anxiety and curiosity was cut very soon. A boy using his Ralts' Psychic power to confuse people around him.

Jake looked at the boy and, frankly, was disgusted. How could someone be so cruel to force their Pokémon to inflict prejudice onto other people. Surely the Ralts was not enjoying this but was simply a slave. He looked at his companion who was swelling up with anger at the misdeeds of the childish boy.

Both Pokémon and trainer made eye contact and were immediately on the same wave length. They knew they should do whatever it took to stop this Pokémon's pain and suffering, and just teach the ignorant brat some manners and a lesson. Of course the people surrounded Jake quite well but obviously he could be seen.

Jake moved with his Lotad closer to the boy, hoping not to stray into his Ralts' psychic firing line. Psychic Pokémon were extremely unpredictable Jake thought. "Okay Lotad, I want you to use a Razor Leaf on that Ralts, but be careful because it may be expecting it!" Jake tried to get the last point across. "If you get an opportunity where you are close to Ralts, then use an astonish." "Good luck"

Your Lotad did everything you told it to do. By spawning leaves from its body, each leaf took a distinct sharpness as they floated in the air around your Lotad. In moments, the leaves shot out, winding around people as it aimed toward the small Ralts. The trainer didn't see the mysterious leaves coming at him, but the Ralts, being as aware as everything as it was, noticed the leaves, but didn't know what to do without its trainer's advice. The leaves managed to strike the Ralts, the Pokémon giving a short cry in surprise rather than pain.

Razor Leaf happened to be a short range attack, which meant the Ralts was barely in the leaves's attack range.

"Hey!" The boy shouted, not very aware his Ralts had been attacked as he stared at you. Your Lotad was trying to get in close to use Astonish, but this time, the snobby trainer was ready for a full on fight. "Don't you know your manners, kid? Don't mess with strangers that can beat you in an instant!" The red-head's chest puffed out in superiority, his nose still in the air, until the Ralts cried out again. Your Lotad managed to give the Ralts a light tackle with its Astonish attack as the kid whirled around.

"That's it! We're fighting! Ralts, confuse that Lotad and find some place to hide!"

The blue beam of energy spiked from the Ralts's head as it pierced your Lotad's own mind with its close proximity. Thanks to how close your Lotad was, the more powerful the attack happened to be. Your Lotad suffered from the attack, but managed not to become confused as the Ralts went and hid amongst the crowd.

"You're not winning this fight!"

His manners? It was definitely not his manners that wanted prioritising at the moment. Jake grimaced at the damage inflicted onto his Lotad by the Ralts. And now the Ralts had hidden itself between the moving people. Hopefully at some point there would be the slightest gap between the peoples moving feet and Ralts would be spotted.

Even though he was trying to focus his attention on finding Ralts and stopping it from getting near enough to attack, his mind couldn't help but notice how Lotad's Razor Leaf looked like a similar move. Magical Leaf. It seemed to manage to find it's target around the various people's legs.

Now it was time to give a command, and Jake was absolutely baffled as to what to do. He could only hope they could spot Ralts, before they spotted them. There wasn't much Lotad could do at such an early stage and without the ability to find Ralts.

"Lotad I need you to start moving about amongst the people OK?" "If ever you spot Ralts, then I want you to use another Razor Leaf and avoid getting close to it at all costs!" Jake stressed. Although there was no type advantage, Ralts had done quite a good amount of damage on Lotad.

{{Hi Shock, I'll be your ref this time. This is my second official Tohea ref, sorry if it's not standard.}}

Lotad gave a nod as he took off into the crowd, making sure to keep out of peoples ways, and keeping an eye out all around him for Ralts. He payed attention to keeping an eye on you too though, why? Who knew, probably just in case you gave him more commands, but for now, he kept his eyes peeled for Ralts.

The red-headed boy had been looking at you, through the crowd, and smirked as he waited to see what your Lotad would do. Quickly, his eyes locked on you as he started to mix in with the crowd, already knowing the pattern by which his Ralts liked to travel around. Suddenly, you lost sight of him, though, I'm not too sure you were really looking for him.

"Ralts!" You heard a human voice call, followed by some more words which were muffled by the sound of the crowd, but then you caught sight of the trainer, who then seemed to vanish yet again.

A short buzzing noise passed by you, and you saw a sort of green and white blur as it flashed ahead of you, a small orange cut through the center of the green. "Ral..." you heard the echoe of the Pokémon as it passed on by, obviously using Agility to maneouver about easily. "RALTS!" He proclaimed, having come close enough to your Lotad that it was able to spin around quickly, using the speed from it's running, along with the radar on it's head, to create a gust of wind which it used to knock Lotad back a couple of paces.

Lotad, having gotten back up after being knocked into a random wandered, shook off the pain it had felt from the gust attack and kept an eye out for Ralts. He noticed as a trail of leaves was randomly floating around as something passed by them, and instantly recognized the leaves as the ones from his previous razor leaf, and knowing that since they were hovering, Ralts was constantly passing by that area. Quickly, he released a fury of leaves outwards, making sure to maneouver through the legs of people passing by.

With a slight thud, you watched sa Ralts was pummeled by multiple razor leaves, which it then brushed off and ignored the pain as it continued to dart around angrily, awaiting his trainers next commands.

(Heya, honestly don't worry about it, and this is well above the standards I would expect from someones second ref so excellent work!)

This Ralts certainly was full of surprises. Managing to know Agility was an accomplishment in itself. Now not only did they have to compete with the Ralt's hiding places, they also had to put up with the annoying Pokémon's speed. This was by no means going to be an easy battle. However Jake was quickly thinking up a strategy.

The leafs spawned ready for a Razor leaf did not have to leave the Pokémon immediately. Maybe if they could use them as a defensive move instead of an offensive move? It certainly was an idea to repel Ralts' speed and short ranged attacks. But would it now use Agility again? It was hard to tell. The trainer as well as his Pokémon were very unpredictable.

Jake looked up at the sky, trying to use any weather he could to his advantage. Unfortunately this wasn't the case at the moment, the sun was out and beating down on the ground around them. Unfortunately with Lotad's ability not being Chlorophyll the sun was worthless. But maybe, they could use it to try and blind Ralts.

"Okay Lotad, first I want you to use a Razor Leaf but don't let them attack Ralts!" "Use them to protect yourself, if any are left after Ralts attacks, then send them after it." Jake called to his Pokémon. "If you can, use an astonish and then shroud yourself in Razor Leaf again." "Now Lotad, don't worry too much if you can't, try to make Ralts face the sun when it attacks you." "Good luck." Jake finally said knowing that this was quite a hard task for such a young Pokémon.

{Hehe, that's because I know how you like to be reffed ^^ I figured you wouldn't remember, but you worked on my site, Myora, for a while. I'm Shadow :D Anyways, back to your ref.}

"Ralts! Use Sha-" You heard the boy call out from the nearby distance, before his voice trailed off once again, but atleast this time you got an idea of what he was going to use, and so did Lotad.

Lotad was looking about wearily for its target, waiting to see where Ralts would come up next. Suddenly, he saw something crawling THROUGH the ground, and as it came closer and closer, Lotad only found it easier to figure it was Ralts. Quickly, Lotad jumped into the air, and released Razor Leaf before the shadow could appear from the concrete, but when it did, it was stricken nice and hard by a powerful barrage of leaves.

Ralts, having used its egg move Shadow Sneak, was pretty much blown back in surprise to see that it's attack had been avoided, never had that been accomplished. Though, that was the least of his worries as he was onslaughted with leaves which cut away at his body. Closing his eyes, he hadn't been able to notice as Lotad landed before him, and when he opened his eyes he saw Lotad using an astonish attack, which sadly didn't work, or well, it had, but not the way it was intended.

Ralts, when startled, pushed his hands outwards as he fell back, releasing a sort of pulse of blue light from his hands, a confusion attack. Sadly, Lotad hadn't expected the attack and had already released Razor Leaf from a close-range, but when the confusion came towards it, the attack was reversed back onto the poor tadpole thing. Not to mention that it was also stricken by Confusion, but atleast he was still able to battle, right?

(...*Dawns on him* OH MY GOD SHADOW!...Hey.)

Jake winced at the double impact of the two attacks on his own Pokémon. It couldn't of helped his condition certainly. But the fact Lotad knew what to do during a Shadow Sneak attack, was to be frank, amazing. And Lotad had to some very high degree managed to perform his commands near enough perfect.

It looked like Ralts was nearing it's last legs, it shouldn't be too long now before they managed to defeat the poor thing and have a few choice words with the ignorant...well words couldn't describe what he wanted to call him but suffice to say a fair amount of profanity came into the picture.

Jake quickly looked at his Lotad, seeing if there was any lasting damage from that last confusion attack. Lotad sure didn't look dazed and confused so Jake assumed that it was fine to attack. Because of Lotad's perfect execution of moves in the last round, Jake saw no reason why they couldn't do the same again to win the battle.

"Okay Lotad that was excellent, good call on Shadow Sneak!" Jake called trying to encourage his Pokémon to not leave a shred of health after the final attack. "Now Lotad I want you to do the same as last time, shroud yourself in Razor Leaf and send them after Ralts after it attacks you." "Then follow up with astonish as strong as you can OK?"

”RALTS!” The opposing trainer with red-hair called as he now stood opposite of you, no longer darting through the crowd as he just looked at you furiously. “You’ll pay for hurting my Ralts you brat!” His voice was harsh as he called out to you, and suddenly the people around you scattered slightly as they could see the battle underway now. “Ralts, use Confusion and Shadow Sneak in a combination!” He called with rage in his voice, and through that you could see he was becoming frustrated with this battle.

Lotad gave you a slight nod before going off to work, as quickly he began forging the leaves for Razor Leaf as he waited for Ralts, now knowing that he had to steer clear of the Pokémon’s confusion attack, even when it was just startled, that attack could be released in all its fury. Lotad kept a close eye on Ralts, and when he blinked, lost track of the Pokémon, instantly knowing to jump into the air as not to be stricken by Shadow Sneak.

Though, his try was futile as Ralts appeared behind Lotad, having used a new version of shadow sneak, having masked himself in Lotad’s shadow to mask his movements. “RALTS!” The Pokémon’s voice was easy enough to identify as Lotad quickly spun around, just in time too because Ralts was releasing a barrage of punches and kicks at the little Lilly pad Pokémon, but luckily enough, Lotad released his Razor Leaves in a counter against most of the punches and kicks, taking minor damage from them.

So, when the attack of punches ended, Ralts vanished yet again, appearing above Lotad with his hands covered in a blue mist-like energy. “RALTS!” He called, as the energy became somewhat darker, a bit purpler as they changed, he was now focusing both his Final attack of Shadow Sneak, with confusion in order to finish this round. Quickly, Ralts came down upon Lotad with the strongest combination attack it could muster, and hoped that it’d be enough to knock the brat out.

But alas, it would no be as Lotad had saved the best attack for last, having remember to keep his second Razor Leaf ready to launch, he released yet another barrage of leaves at Ralts, hitting him square in the chest, sending the little Pokémon flying back against the floor, where it slowly, but surely, was left knocked out.

"Excellent work Lotad, you've done a good job!" Jake was extremely proud of his Lily Pokémon. This was their first battle together, it was against a higher leveled Pokémon...and they won! The feeling of euphoria flowed through the very veins of Jake's body. Such a feeling was too much to be described. Pleased was the word.

Jake then focused his attention on the trainer and looked at him with disgust, he then looked at the Ralts with pity. It was unfair to the poor thing. Did it not know any better? Surely the Pokémon was only as bad as the trainer. Part of him wanted to go to the Ralts, snatch him and run off to look after him. But the selfish boy was the rightful owner.

"Have you no shame?" Jake shouted to the trainer. "How, can you possibly make such a delicate creature do so much damage and cause it so much pain?" Jake felt very close to tears of anger now but fought them back with determination. "How can you stand there with a smug look on your face while your Pokémon suffers!?"

The kid continued to smirk, hands to his hips with his red hair vibrantly glowing from the sunlight. Did he care what you thought? Hardly. The only thing he really cared about as your... Lotad. "Ralts! Return!" Extending a hand with a Pokeball, the fainted Ralts returned to its Pokeball within a beam of light. However, the boy took out another Pokeball, its surface gleaming just like his hair as he tossed it to his other hand.

"Your Pokémon isn't quite right. He's not mine. I'm just, shall we say, borrowing him." Giving a devilish laugh, the boy threw out the other Pokeball as the Pokémon within emerged from a white light. A flying Swablu flew around the area, its beady black eyes staring down at your nearly defenseless Lotad as it circled slowly. "That's my Pokémon! If you want your Pokémon to survive this battle, you better give me your Lotad!" The Swablu cooed in response as it readed itself.

"Swablu! Use peck!"

Flapping its cloud like wings, the Swablu gained enough altitude and finally began to streak downward, its gray beak ready to pound into your Pokémon. You could run with your Lotad, hoping you could out run the Swablu, or you could do something equally drastic to get away or fight. Tackle the trainer? Fight the Swablu? Blend in with the crowd? The choice was yours.

Jake was absolutely disgusted with the trainer. It was as if there was not any remorse felt. Surely that was in human? Not to feel even the tiniest amount of guilt for literally destroying a Pokémon and sending out another Pokémon to steal another Pokémon? His Pokémon!

Jake didn't have much time to act now. The swablu was rapidly closing in on his Lotad. This attack would almost certainly knock Lotad out for the count, and then what would happen. He certainly didn't want to part with his Lotad after such a short amount of time. He wouldn't be parted!

Jake, with a quick flick of the wrist detached Lotad's Pokeball from his belt and aimed it at his Pokémon. The red beam began to emerge from the center of the ball towards Lotad. Jake could now only pray that the light would envelope Lotad before Swablu did with it's attack.

Jake knew that as soon as his Lotad was safe he would tackle the arrogant punk as best he could, hopefully knocking him off his feet and avoiding Swablu. Then he would take the Ralts. It wasn't in his nature to steal but what if the Ralts was not his? What if he had stolen it like possibly many others before it? Jake felt no guilt stealing what had been stolen.

The Swablu swooped up the moment Lotad was recalled, flying heavily to stop itself from slamming into the ground. With its soft, blue underbelly barely scathing the pavement, it pulled up, veering to the left to avoid people oblivious to the situation at hand. "Swablu! Do it!" The trainer continued to smirk, ignoring you approaching as the Swablu once more began to fly in circles, landing on someone's head. Others began to laugh at the man, the businessman clearly flustered in having the Swablu on its head.

As soon as you approached the boy to tackle him, he ran off. He weaved through the crowd, staying low yet inconspicuous, aiming straight for the man the Swablu was on. Since the bird Pokémon chose this man, that meant some where, he had Pokeballs exposed for the stealing. A nimble hand snatched the man's Pokeball as the kid passed, now having more Pokémon at his disposal to fight against you. The look on your face and your movement only meant you were going to do something the thief really wouldn't like from earlier.

Managing to get away within the large crowd, looking around for you once more, two Pokeballs were in the boy's hand. One for the Swablu, and the other the stolen Pokeball. Who knew what was inside? It could be a Steelix or a Gyarados, a powerful Pokémon to make sure you couldn't touch him. However, he couldn't see you at the moment. There's a chance you could blindside him and do what you wish, but if he saw you... the unknown Pokémon would be finally unleashed.

This trainer certainly was a slippery one, and very light-fingered to say the least. If Jake was fair, the Swablu had probably distracted the man, but how could he not feel or notice a pokeball being taken from your body? This indeed was a small feat in itself. But the real question was what was in that pokeball?

Jake looked at the man. He certainly didn't look like the type to be carrying something as weak as a Magikarp, but nor did he look like the type to be carrying something as overwhelming as a Gyarados. But Jake knew, looks were deceiving. Jake kept an eye on the kid. He had not noticed him yet. And Jake wanted to keep it that way.

Now that Lotad was safely away in his pokeball, Jake felt strangely alone. He had made up a plan, and there was only himself to carry it out. The swablu seemed to be enjoying the mans confusion at having a random Swablu land atop his head and the humiliation he was inducing upon him.

It seemed that the boy was focus sing the majority of his attention on the man but Jake couldn't be sure. Deciding it was worth a shot, Jake slowly, trying not to be noticed by the boy, edged his way to the boy. Jake knew that once he was behind him he would run at him and try to knock him down. He would then wrestle the gentleman's pokeball out of his hand and the Ralts' pokeball as well.

The kid never saw you coming. You tackled his mid drift, forcing the stealing trainer to land hard on his stomach as the wind was knocked out of him. He gasped for several breaths as the stranger's Pokeball rolled out of his grasp and further into the crowd, the Ralts one soon following, kicked and kicked until both Pokeballs went separate ways. As the boy tried to heave for a breath, clawing at the ground, everyone simply walked around him as if he didn't exist.

His inhaler was kicked away as well.

He laid on the ground, still trying to take a single breath, unable to as he frantically tried to look around. Three objects were kicked away, each in three separate directions. The mysterious Pokeball, the inhaler, and the Ralts' Pokeball. The trainer's Swablu finally fluttered up, fluffy wings allowing it to keep afloat as it eyed its trainer. It swooped in fast, high tempered as its black eyes narrowed on you. But instead, it flew into the crowd, weaving and struggling through the people.

Well, now it was your choice. The inhaler, one of the Pokeballs, or to see where that Swablu was going. There were a lot of chances here... The trainer could have stolen the inhaler and really didn't need it, the trainer could have been stealing back the Pokeball the older man may have taken. Choices, choices, choices!
