Clarisse rolled her eyes and nodded, continuing on the path again towards Tohea City, hoping to get there soon. The other trainer grinned and followed, clearly wanting to join your current party of two. Looking over her shoulder, Clarisse saw her and stopped, giving her a questioning glance before coming right out and asking what she was doing. Hurt, the other trainer stopped and backed up, not sure why Clarisse was showing such hostility towards her. Before she could respond though, there was a loud explosion followed by a lot off hoots and laughter from the bushes.

"Oh no, they're here," the girl whispered before looking at you guys with a horrified look on her face. "I knew that they'd be following me! Please, you have to help me! I was hoping that if I followed you guys they wouldn't do anything, but clearly they're going to get me anyways." Hysterical, the girl grabbed hold of your shirt, clinging close, which pissed Clarisse off more than anything ever has before. "You'll help me won't you? Be my hero, please!"

"Get off of him you little psycho wench!" Clarisse screamed, pulling her off of you and throwing her onto the ground. Obviously Clarisse was getting quite a bit jealous, meaning that she still had feelings for you, no matter what had happened previously. "If you want us to help you, then you need to tell us exactly what's going on. And don't go around grabbing whoever you feel like."

The other girl stared wide eyed at Clarisse before getting back up and brushing herself off. "Sorry. My name is Hannah Laverne. My family is supposed to be one of the most well known in a distant land, and apparently word has gotten to here. There's a mob group that is trying to find me and kidnap me for ransom, hoping to be able to get that money to start their careers. You see, it's a small mob, but still dangerous, and they followed me from Hurst City."

Interesting, isn't it? Clarisse just stared at her before looking at you, unsure of what exactly you guys could do to help her. "Maybe we should just go to Tohea City and find help there?" What do you think about that idea?

As both he and Clarisse continued on towards Tohea City, Jeremy sensed that the other girl was starting to follow them. Clarisse had obviously noticed this too, and she had turned around right then and asked the girl what she was doing. If she was about to say anything, that was interrupted by some loud laughter from the bushes. Instantly this frightened the girl, although Jeremy didn't really understand why.

"Oh no, they're here, I knew that they'd be following me! Please, you have to help me! I was hoping that if I followed you guys they wouldn't do anything, but clearly they're going to get me anyways." Oh yes, this obviously was unnerving the girl, and Jeremy instantly went on the alert. Some jerks messing with a girl against her will? That definitely wasn't on the "civilized" list. What surprised him next, however, was when the girl grabbed onto his shirt and said, "You'll help me won't you? Be my hero, please!" He could almost feel Clarisse's glare at this intruding female....Oh dear.

"Get off of him you little psycho wench!" Clarisse screamed, wrenching the girl off of him. And she was saying that the other girl was psycho...but was Jeremy about to say that aloud? Um...no. "If you want us to help you, then you need to tell us exactly what's going on. And don't go around grabbing whoever you feel like." Oh yes, he had had Clarisse's reaction right on the mark. His supposedly girlfriend was having a very bad day.

The girl's faced blanched before she got back up off of the ground and brushed herself off. A natural reaction for anyone, really.

The part that she was from a well-known family pricked up Jeremy's interest. He had never heard of this said family, but he knew enough about attention and paparazzi to know that she wouldn't enjoy being put on the spot...or abducted. He wasn't really that surprised that this small mob group had chased her from smoggy, crime-filled Hurst...those were two of the reasons he hadn't gone there in the beginning.

"Maybe we should just go to Tohea City and find help there?" Clarisse said, obviously not quite sure what they should do. Jeremy privately agreed, but perhaps there were more forces to this small gang than they thought. They could make it to Tohea, but where would they find help there? The Pokémon Center wouldn't be a bad place to start, but he wasn't sure if that would be the best bet. Of course he could scare them off for a little while....

"Jason," he said abruptly, making a split decision as he threw the Pokeball out. The huge midnight blue...thing appeared in a flash of white light. Then Jeremy pointed towards the bushes where the laughter had come from. "I want you to attack anyone in those bushes to the point where they can't...move. Knock them unconscious in the least, but don't kill them." Now was as good a time as any to try and change his Pokémon's nature from complete murder. If not...well, there'd be less criminals around.

Turning to Clarisse and Hannah, he said, "Ready to make a run for it?"

When Jason was released, Clarisse looked a little horrified, really not caring for the creature at all. But she couldn't help but smile when Hannah screamed bloody murder at the sight of the monster. She would have started to giggle, if things weren't quite so serious, although they were indeed. Three men popped out of the bushes (they were a small band, weren't they?) and threw some Pokeballs out, sending Pokémon everywhere. A total of six Pokémon, two apiece, were out to go against Jason, and immediately orders were being demanded. Things were too much of a blur to see, so I'm not even going to bother with the details on who attacked whom with what and all. But you might want to do something to help Jason out.

"We need to leave!" Hannah cried out, trying to drag you towards Tohea City again. Pissed off, Clarisse walked over and backhanded her. "You listen here you little psycho tramp! It's not our fault these goons are after you, so shut up and do whatever the hell it is we say!" Ouch, things are getting a little bitchy, aren't they? You might want to take a look at how things are looking for Jason...

Oh damn, why hadn't he predicted that they would have Pokémon? Such a stupid, yet obvious thing....He could've slapped himself in the face at the moment if it would've helped things. As it was, he would have to use just more than Jason...even his ferocity couldn't put up with six Pokémon at once. Both of the females hadn't liked seeing Jason appear, but there was nothing Jeremy could do to change his Pokémon's appearance. Hannah had plain freaked out, and Clarisse had to rather roughly bring her back to her senses.

"You listen here you little psycho tramp! It's not our fault these goons are after you, so shut up and do whatever the hell it is we say!" It wasn't quite Hannah's fault either...unless she rigged the whole thing, which he highly doubted. As it was, it was still quite plain to him that Clarisse was jealous of this girl.

"Right, you guys want to fight?" he jeered smartly, glaring at his competition. "Attempting to kidnap someone is a felony, as you well know. Seems like you need some refreshment in law." Grabbing Phae's Pokeball, he released the Magby first. "Phae, use Smog to blind them, choke them, confuse them. Jason, cover him should any attacks try to come his way, and use Supersonic if necessary to confuse the competition further."

Here he released the rest of his Pokémon, and gave his more recent orders. He didn't want to exhaust them too much...yet, so he was trying to keep attacks single and simple. He'd see how things played out. "Exo, Ridge, once Phaes has used Smog, run through the cloud and double Tackle the first opponent that you see. Try to make it a pinball effect if you can see more of them. If Phaes can't somehow pull it off, Exo, you use Dragon Rush and hit as many as you can, and Ridge, Body Slam the Pikachu." Finally, he turned to Valor, who was waiting Patiently. "Valor, use Confusion on the Butterfree. We don't want it getting away too easily with its wings, do we? Then use Substitute to entice it closer should it somehow try and miss the Smog or Confusion." He wasn't too worried about the damaged Pidgey yet, but its time would come too.

Turning to Clarisse and Hannah, he said, "If either of you have any Pokémon available, help would be appreciated." He knew Clarisse had a pretty powerful Dratini, but he knew nothing about Hannah's arsenal. Perhaps she didn't even have any Pokémon....Either way, he could use some help to make the situation improve. Hopefully they wouldn't tear each other apart in the meantime.

Time seemed to freeze around you as your Pokémon started to carry out their orders, although they halted out of nowhere. Grinning, the goons started barking out orders, but their Pokémon didn't move, and you could hear a voice in your head. All of the Pokémon turned to look at an Alakazam whom was obviously the one you could hear saying something. Unfortunately, it was too difficult as he seemed to be talking more to the Pokémon than to you. Eventually, though, you could tell that he was addressing you, and the goons and their Pokémon disappeared. Looking right at you, the Alakazam talked to you of a new world that was brighter and calmer.

Up above, the sky had darkened quite considerably, and you could see huge shadows of Pokémon fighting. Lighting streaked across the sky, though you couldn't quite figure out who was fighting. Alakazam said that you were to take a portal to this new world, though it all seemed like a dream, and Hannah started crying. Seeming to be enthralled by the psychic, Clarisse told her to shut up and listen to what it was he had to say. But Hannah took off towards Tohea City, and she didn't listen to a word Clarisse started screaming at her.

Before your very eyes, a portal appeared, and you couldn't see anything in it, except for blackness as dark as the sky up above. He promised that it was a bright new world, and yet why would the portal be so... dark? Do you think you should go into it, or are you going to do what Hannah did and also freak out? The choice is yours, although it seemed as if something was telling you to go into it. Clarisse looked to you, wondering what you were going to do...

Jeremy took a deep breath, not really sure what to do. Everything was happening so fast...the Pokémon freezing up, for one thing. At first he thought that this "glitch" was just happening to him, but in reality it seemed to be happening to the goons as well. And then they...vanished?! Obviously it had something to do with the telepathic Alakazam, who now seemed to try to be communicating with him.

The psychic Pokémon talked of a better world, but Jeremy wasn't about to jump on the bandwagon and trust anything out of the blue like that. After all, he had been to the Nothingness once before, although this didn't seem to be a signature of Darkrai. Looking up, his breath caught in his throat as he witnessed a darkened sky occasionally streaked with lightning. Shadowed forms of Pokémon seemed to be fighting each other; he wondered if this was only Tohea's seemingly apocalypse, or the whole world's? He felt a twinge in his stomach as he thought of his adoptive family; he hoped that they were safe, wherever they were by now.

Hannah started crying and, despite Clarisse's warnings of her to "shut up", she ran off towards Tohea crying. Meh, whatever. If Hannah was that shallow and...fragile, she could certainly get along on her own, right? Anyway, the goons were gone so she shouldn't run into any problems...by his reasoning, anyway. He had much more care for Clarisse, despite her slightly psychotic ways. She had next to nothing left, and he didn't have much to lose, either, except for his family....If this mess was indeed only happening in Tohea, then they were safe in Sinnou.

Suddenly a portal of blackness appeared in front of him, but it didn't really look "bright and promising" to him. Looks could be deceiving, but his slight urge for adventure was winning out this time. What if this Alakazam was telling the truth? That he was going to a better world? Well, there was only one way to find out...Arceus so help him if he was about to walk into some sort of oblivion.

"Come on, Clarisse," he said, nodding his head towards the portal. "The only way we'll sort through this...madness...is if we listen to it and walk in. You...don't have to come if you don't want to." He neglected to mention that this was also not the first time that his head had been messed with. Pulling out his Pokeballs, he attempted to call back his Pokémon despite their frozen states...if it could be done. He walked towards the yawning mouth of the portal, his stomach still doing uncomfortable somersaults over his decision.
