Exo, oblivious to the Pidoo being a fake, nodded towards you and soon enough began to radiate energy throughout his body, creating an invisible, but thick armor around his already powerful shell. Soon enough, he started glowing a bright white, and it seemed as though he was going to evolve, but then the white light burst off his shell as he looked at Pidoo with a new force. "Aron!" He called quickly, while Pidoo just started blankly at him.

The real Pidoo simply stood back, controlling the Substitute Pidoo with his mind. "Pii..." The Pokémon said from far back, which caused the fake one to do the same as the fakes needle began to eminate a bright violet light, which then turned white as it engulfed all of Pidoo's body. Oh no, it hadn't, did Pidoo HONESTLY just take Exo's state incre-

THWACK! The energy was released in a pink ringlet as it knocked Exo back hard. "Pii.." The Pokémon said as, before Exo even hit the ground, it darted across the skies, knocking the Pokémon on its stomach, back into a building, where the little Pokémon slid down onto his body, and had to force himsef up.

Exo weakly got up as he was lucky to have hardened his shell before the attacks struck. As you could see though, the wall behind him now had a crator in it, but on the plus side, the increased defense of Exo's skin caused the little Pidoo to take some damage, not much thanks to its cushion ability though.

Angrily, Exo started off his next attack sequence as he jumped into the air, and came down on Pidoo's needle with a hard bite attack. Sadly, since Exo hadn't learned that move on his own, it was taken as a normal type attack, but while he still had hold of it, he slammed Pidoo into the ground numerous times, causing the clone to pop soon enough.

The real Pidoo appeared out of the shadows as it angrily looked at Exo.

A small hiss escaped Jeremy's lips as he observed what poor Exo was now going through. The little Pokémon had just gotten slam-banged all over the area; Thank God that he'd had the little thing use Harden. Bite's results had surprised him a little, but at least the troublesome Substitute was finally gone. This Pidoo would definitely be a valuable asset to him...if only he could catch it!

Exo blinked in confusion as he saw the Pidoo vanish and appear elsewhere. It didn't take him long to put two and two together before he realized that Jeremy was right; he had been tricked. Grunting angrily, the little steel type braced himself for Jeremy's next round of orders.

"Exo, not bad, but I think we can do better. Time to teach this thing a lesson by using Agility to heighten your speed, and then give it even more problems by using Dragon Rush. If that fails, rush it with a Tackle!"

Three moves, one opponent. Exo hardened his gaze, wanting to prove his "metal" this next round.

{I am officially just playing around with colors now}

Finally this battle was going to get serious! Well, not that it wasn't already... but.. nevermind. Hurriedly, Exo started the round off by performing the first command you had given him, Agility! Darting to and fro, Exo seemed to be a silver blur, as light struck his shell and reflected off of it.

Angrily, Pidoo looked abount for the Pokémon, and decided to use an attack from before as his body began to glow brightly again. "Pii..." The Pokémon said as soon enough, it disappeared matching Exo's speed thanks to Roleplay.

Dangit, this bratty little Pokémon was starting to get irritating, don'cha think? But atleast you knew that once you, if you, caught it, you'd have a very powerful ally on your hands. Suddenly, you saw Exo stop as Pidoo trailed close behind him, and before the pin cushion could attack, Exo began to glow a sort of dark pinkish-purple before charging into the Pokémon with DRAGON RUSH!

Transfering the dragonic energy that Exo had mustered up in his body, Exo slammed into the pin cushion with as powerful a Dragon Rush as he could create. "Pii!" The pin cushion said as it was thrown back, using its cushion ability to weaken the damage it would take from the physical part of Dragon Rush, but unable to stop the damage from coming onto it with the elemental part of the attack.

Suddenly, Pidoo's needle began to glow a bright gold as soon enough, its entire body did so. Exo and you both thought that the Pokémon was going to release some sort of electric attack, and braced yourselves for it, only to realize that Pidoo had been paralyzed by the Dragon Rush attack, leaving itself defenseless.

Taking advantage of the paralysis, Exo quickly leapt into the air and began rotating rapidly with his speed increase, before slamming into the pin cushion with tackle, knocking it into the ground with a hard thud before he quickly jumped back, and stood ahead of you.

"YES!" Jeremy yelled in triumph, pumping his fist into the air. Exo had done excellently that round, and he hadn't expected the Dragon Rush to paralyze anything; that had been a nice plus. He needed to research his moves more....But he couldn't get too confident now, unless he wanted to throw the battle as well as his chance to get a rare Pokémon.

"Good job Exo! You did great there. But don't let your guard down. Even when it's weakened, that thing can be deadly," Jeremy coached. "I want you to take advantage of its paralysis and use another Tackle, and then back it up with another Bite!"

True, Aron had a really small mouth. Still, they had razor-sharp teeth and a metal shell to help them deal with that problem. Besides, this Pincushion would be down in another turn or two if both of them were able to pull this off. Anyway, Jeremy couldn't wait to obtain this rare, exclusive creature.

"Ar!" Exo growled, clearly ready to charge this injured thing full of needles. New friend or not, it had the little Aron mad, and now it was going down!

This battle was getting exciting as this little Pidoo got up and looked at you fiercely. "Pii..." It said, not angry, but impressed as its stitches took the form of a smile for a moment, before it got serious again.

This round started off well as Exo, with his still enhanced speed, charged towards Pidoo with as quick a tackle as he could muster. Luckily, since he had an iron head, the attack was more like a Skull Bash as he leapt through the air towards Pidoo.

Pidoo wasn't about to be taken down by that attack though, no sir. "Pidoo!" It called, releasing a quick, but strong, confusion attack at the oncoming Pokémon, who was stricken in mid-air. Exo flipped in the air, landing on his feet as he slid back, and he wasn't about to lose this fight now, not when he had already gotten so far!

"Pidoo!" Pidoo called once more as it charged up another confusion attack, this one obviously stronger then the previous as more energy had been focused into it. Exo quickly charged towards Pidoo, his small mouth open as he called out his name, and leapt into the sky, bitting down on Pidoo's little needle, and slamming it down onto the ground, keeping its bite down hard on the needle.

Not a smart idea honestly, as Pidoo released his confusion directly into Aron's mouth, focused through the needle as aron's mouth glowed purple with energy. Luckily for Exo though, the energy was also stuffing his mouth, thus entering his teeth as he bit down harder on Pidoo's needle, its once normal Bite-attack, converting to a now Psychic-Bite (Shall we name is Psycho Fang) attack.

Both Pokémon weakened slowly, losing more and more HP as time passed by, obviously Exo was loosing more HP then Pidoo, being the one focusing the attack into Exo's mouth. But, then again, Exo was striking a Psychic-type with one of it's weaknesses... Psychic, so who knew how this match would turn out.

And soon, the match was determined as both Pokémon took on a "@_@" appearance in their eyes. Which one won? Who knew honestly, but soon you saw Exo shake slightly as he got up weakly, triumphant over Pidoo as he stood on the needle for a moment before falling into a state of unconciouness. Not quite fainted, but exhausted.

EXO WON THE MATCH!
EXO GAINED 77 EXP!
EXO LEVELED UP ONCE TO LEVEL 7!
EXO MIGHT'VE LEARNED HOW TO CHANNEL ENERGY INTO HIS TEETH!

Anyways, didn't you wanna catch that Pidoo?

"Excalibur!" Jeremy fairly yelled, running to his almost fallen Pokémon and scooping him up. He cradled Exo to his chest and whispered, "You did good, boy. Time to rest." With that, he recalled the young Aron, with the respect of an injured comrade.

"And now..." he muttered, whipping out an empty Pokeball. "Little Pidoo, you are officially...mine." Flinging the Pokeball towards the miniature pincushion, he watched the Pokeball engulf it. Well, this capture was in the hands of Fate now, even though it was pretty well one-sided...After all, this Pidoo was down for the count.

Zoning out for a moment, Jeremy wondered what he would name the weird-looking thing. It was a pincushion, not to mention genderless, so..."I think I'll call it...Valor, AKA Bravery." That made a lot of sense and, oddly enough, it fit Exo's description sort of well...

Jeremy couldn't quite put his finger on it, but somehow, he knew that this Pincushion would be...heroic. As soon as he bagged this Pokémon, he was off to the Pokémon Center for some well-needed healing on both fronts.

As you launched the pokeball off towards Pidoo, you started thinking about what you might actually call the little Pokémon once it was caught. Pondering different names, you paid little to no attention as the ball shook once, twice, thrice, and eventually a loud "DING" chimed from it.

After having chosen a name, Valor no less, you walked over to the pokeball and picked it up. With that, you just walked off towards the Pokémon center where you would heal both Excalibur and Valor. Then again, didn't you also have some items to return to the Pokémart? Or maybe you wanted to keep it now. It was up to you.

Anyways, as you walked down the streets of Wayford, you saw many trainers battling Pokémon all over the place. Some were even battling each other. Though, there were people who simply wanted to just hang around in the city, relax.

After a good half-hour's walk across town, you found yourself at the Pokémon center, where a Chansey quickly scuffled over to you and took your pokeballs. "Chansey," She said as she passed the pokeballs through a machine, which almost instantly healed them. The chansey then came back to you, with a Nurse Joy with her.

Nurse Joy looked at you and smiled, "Hello. Would you like a room for the night?" She asked, as you turned around to see that the day had turned to night already. While you tracked that girl before, you had practically wasted an entire day, but atleast you had a new ally, and your original ally had leveled up twice.

So, what now?

"Thanks Chansey," Jeremy smiled to the pink Pokémon as she whisked off his two Pokeballs. They were returned to him within moments, fully healthy and healed. Nodding to the pink Pokémon in a friendly manner, he took back his Pokeballs and placed Valor's on his belt while attaching Exo's to his neck chain.

Now, to return that bag of stuff to the Pokémart...In the confusion of finding the Pidoo, Jeremy had nearly forgotten all about his "delivery". The problem was, he'd forgotten the way to the Pokémart...No problem, right? He could always ask Nurse Joy...

As if on cue, the Nurse Joy who had followed the Chansey (dang, why hadn't he noticed that before) asked him, "Hello. Would you like a room for the night?" Really, that would be quite nice, but Jeremy couldn't sleep with that bag-almost literally-weighing on his conscience.

"Yes please, dear Nurse," Jeremy said to her, nodding. "As soon as I make a short delivery. You wouldn't happen to know where the Pokémart is, do you?" Hopefully, she'd be able to give him straight directions so that he'd get this over with and get some well-needed sleep. He definitely wasn't a morning person...

Of course, the thought of keeping the items had crossed his mind, but that wasn't how he worked. Unless something was earned through either money, effort, or pure luck, he'd take it. However, he knew what this precious sack of cargo belonged to and wasn't about to lose his virtues that easily.

Nurse Joy smiled, and instructed you to go straigt down the street, and around the corner. "I'll have a room ready for when you return." She said, before hurrying off behind the counter to tend to some other trainer's needs.

With the direction fresh in your mind, you nodded and headed out of the Pokémon center, towards the Pokémart. Walking straight down the street, in the dark, with only your two Pokémon, and a bag full of items, you didn't see much. A few trainer-crews were walking down the street, and you could only tell that because the street light shined down on their heads for a few moments until they passed and walked away.

Finally, after turning the corner, you found yourself infront of the Pokémon, where the owner stood at the door, about to lock up for the night. Recognizing your face for one odd reason or another, the man kept the door open and pondered about something unspoken for a moment. "Hey there..." His words came out somewhat confused as he looked at you.

Before you had a chance to answer, the man noticed you were carrying a bag of items, and then snapped his fingers remembering EXACTLY who you were. "Oh! Your the kid from before. You actually got my items back?" He said happily as you held out the bag to him. Snagging the bag from you, he made sure everything was their and smiled, "Come in, come in." His voice was now inviting as he opened the door again and walked behind his counter, searching around for something.

After a good ten minutes or so, the man came up from his hunched, searching position and smiled. "Here, this is for retrieving my items." He said as he placed two strange looking pokeballs on the countertop. "This one is a Healball. It works like a pokeball, but when you catch a Pokémon it heals their status effects, I think someone told me that it restores their health too... but I don't quite remember." He said, pointing to the pink pokeball he had layed out.

:healball

"This other one here," He said, pointing to a green and black pokeball on the counter beside the pink pokeball, "is a Duskball. It works like a pokeball during the day, but at night, or in dark areas, it increases your chances of catching Pokémon."

:Duskball

Well, this was a nice turn, right? You returned 7 items, and got two rare-pokeballs. Nice, and since it was night RIGHT NOW, if you encountered a Pokémon... you could use that Duskball and catch yourself something nice.

Then again, you didn't HAVE to take the rewards, and could just head on back to the Pokémon center where you could actually get some sleep for the night.

With Nurse Joy's directions fresh in his mind, Jeremy meandered his way down the street. Odd, how there's a ton of Nurse Joys, and almost all of them look alike, he thought. At least they're all nice...Unless you count Nurse Wrath in that old Pokémon-X comic that I used to read...

Finally coming to the Pokémart, Jeremy was a little shocked to find that the guy was locking up. Was he too late? As it turned out, the guy actually recognized him and beckoned for him to come in. Feeling a little warm inside for doing a good deed, Jeremy followed. He wanted to inquire about what the guy had "done" to upset the thief in the first place, but decided to stay away from that subject; after all, it had gotten him into trouble earlier that day.

Breaking out of his thoughts, Jeremy watched as the man returned the stolen merchandise to its proper place(s) and took out two rare Pokeballs that he had never before seen. As the man explained what they were, Jeremy took an interest in the two Pokeballs. Interesting...but should he take them? They were his reward for returning the stolen goods, but he never really expected to get anything. In fact, he never did expect to get anything for his actions; his foster parents had taught him that much.

Still, perhaps it would be rude to refuse the Pokeballs, since the man had willingly given them without Jeremy dropping any cryptic hints whatsoever. In this case, the man's generosity was winning over Jeremy's battling conscience.

"Thank you sir, although I don't believe that I really deserve them," Jeremy said with a smile. "But if you insist, I'll take them." He really meant that, and he hoped that it had been the right way to phrase his feelings.

After this little business transaction was over, he'd return to the P.C. for a good night's sleep. No doubt that Exo and Valor would like a nice bed as well.

The man didn't exactly insist that Jeremy take the items, after all, they did cost him money. He smiled as Jeremy collected his prize, saying a quick thanks before disappearing. The events of the past quest must have been a roller coaster ride, but Jeremy learned from it, and that's all trainers need to do if they happen to decide to do anything. If you never learn, you'll never know, and if you never know, you can't do. Or something along those lines of motivation.

Anyways, the trip back to the Pokémon center was quick. Jeremy had known the path, and the Pokémart wasn't that far off in the direction of it anyways. Not too many people were crowded inside the building, but it was rather late at night, so there's a good reason why. Nurse Joy's assistant, a young girl in about her twenties, with long, flowing violet hair, lead Jeremy up to the room he'd be staying in for the night.

It wasn't anything spectacular. A room with two beds on either side of the room, a night stand with a lamp in between the two, and a small, red phone. The room was small, but comfy. Unlike most Pokémon center's rooms, this one actually had a wall paper. Although it was a tacky-western feel, it still provided a relaxing cover to the walls. The beds seemed to be made of one-hundred percent pure pine, which was interesting to say the least. Tonight's rest would be swift.

The next morning, Jeremy awoke with the smell of a nice breakfast in the air. There was another boy sleeping in the bed on the other side of the room, he must have come in after Jeremy finally dowsed off. The boy had a cute little Cyndaquil curled up next to him. Perhaps after Jeremy fetches a quick breakfast, he could introduce himself to this boy, if he's awake.

Although, Jeremy had other choices. If he deiced to remain unsocial, he and his Pokémon could always just venture out back into the city. There's plenty more things to do in the city. There's always someone interesting out there.

As soon as Jeremy retraced his route to the Pokémon Center, he was able to easily find his room and sleep in perfect bliss. It was amazing how tired he was; the feeling hadn't really hit him until now. Anyway, he had an opportunity to sleep now and gradually took advantage of it. In his sleep, he unconsciously gripped the arm with the Marowak skull tattoo.

The first sensation that hit Jeremy's senses as he stirred to consciousness was the smell of...breakfast? Egad! He had slept through the whole night! Being in a new place, he hadn't fully expected that, but perhaps being dog-tired was one of the main reasons.

Slipping from his covers, he quickly redressed himself from his pajamas and reattached his belt. Putting on the chain necklace with Exo's Pokeball was unneeded; he always wore it, even in the shower. It was at this point that he noticed his roommate: a boy with a Cyndaquil. Both were curled up together and sound asleep, making Jeremy smile a little as he left the room.

Now, where was that delicious smell coming from? He had heard rumors of Pokémon Centers having cafeterias, but he hadn't really been on the lookout for one the night before. After breakfast, he'd probably introduce himself to the kid and then hit the road...That is, unless something else arose and the kid wanted to battle him.

If the kid did want to battle, using Exo would probably be suicidal; in that case, he'd probably try out Valor in battle. The Pidoo had proven its worth the night before when he had been battling it, and Jeremy hoped that the little pincushion would come through for him in times of need. Like dear Exo, naturally.

Having already changed your clothing and gathered your things before exiting your room, you had no reason to return. So, when you closed the door of your room, you had failed to remember that when you closed the door, the tiny bells that hung on the knob would shake and rattle.

The other boy inside awoke to the sound of rattling bells, and quickly sat up with his Cyndaquil still soundly asleep. "Cinder, return." He said, using the short-version of the nickname he gave his Cyndaquil as he stood up and looked over to your bed, which you had left a mess, to see that you wern't there. Soon enough, he dressed himself and walked out of the room with three pokeballs on the right side of his belt, and one pokeball on a small chain that hung off of two belt loops.

That didn't matter I suppose as, after a good ten minutes of searching, you found yourself in the cafeteria where there was so much food, that you could barely keep your eyes in their sockets! Of course, that's only a metaphor, but still. So, as you walked through the cafeteria, grabbing a tray and a plate, you collected your tid bits of food and soon spotted the trainer who had shared your room with you across the cafeteria, barely grabbing his own tray.

Soon enough, you found yourself a place to sit and you started eating your food, and a few minutes later, the trainer from before sat down across from you. "Mornin'" He greeted you happily before starting to eat his own food. After a good five minutes, the boy looked up at you and spoke once more, "My name is Alexander, Nurse Joy assigned me to the same room as you last night. She told me that you had helped the Pokémart owner with some stolen gear, and that you had an Aron, and this weird Pokémon that she didn't know the name of." He said, trying to spark a conversation with you.

Well, atleast he wasn't creepy... And he didn't seem like he wanted to battle... He did seem interested in Pidoo though, maybe you should enlighten him on the little pin cushion Pokémon?

Argh, he forgot about the fact that the door had bells on it...He had probably awakened the other guy. Oh well, unless the kid was a headhunter, Jeremy wouldn't really have to worry about anything. For now, his highest intention was to fill his stomach and then go out to train his Pokémon.

Finally finding the cafeteria and grabbing his tray, Jeremy loaded the thing with breakfast food. He'd share some of it with his Pokémon, depending on their preferences; he didn't see a food area for Pokémon, unless he was still half-asleep enough to be as ignorant as he was earlier.

Sending out Exo and Valor to pick stuff off of his plate as they wished, Jeremy ate a few minutes in solitude before the trainer that had been in his room joined him across the way. He didn't look mad or anything, so Jeremy assumed that he wasn't in trouble.

Immediately, the kid started babbling. "My name is Alexander, Nurse Joy assigned me to the same room as you last night. She told me that you had helped the Pokémart owner with some stolen gear, and that you had an Aron, and this weird Pokémon that she didn't know the name of." Obviously, the kid was trying to start a conversation.

Jeremy was a bit disappointed that the kid didn't want to battle, but he did seem interested in Valor. "The stolen gear wasn't too big of a deal," he said, laying icing on the cake. Why were females so stubborn? "And...you seem to be interested in Valor here," Jeremy continued, indicating the Pidoo as it munched on some bacon. "I've never seen one until last night. I think they're exclusives to this region. It's called a Pidoo, and strangely, there's two varieties of them: Psychic and Ghost. Valor's of the Psychic Variety."

As he said this, Valor made a ^ ^ expression on his face as he moved on to some eggs. Exo also seemed to be enjoying himself.

"So...Alexander, what kind of Pokémon do you have?" Jeremy continued, trying to keep the conversation moving amidst bites of food.

Alexander continued eating as you spoke, seeming very interested in Pidoo. He seemed especially interested in his unique potential to be one of two types. It was definitely something original. As you began to talk about the few interesting that you knew, Alexander opened his mouth, which was still full of food, in awe. How nasty.

As you asked him about his own Pokémon, he closed his mouth (thank God) and finished chewing and swallowing. Finally done, he said, "Well, I think you saw Cinder in the room last night, right? Well, I also have Dragon, my Charmander. And I also have Big Blue, my Munchlax. You know, I really kinda want that Pidoo thing. Want to trade?"

He looked really excited. He seemed very much willing to do anything for Valor. Would you trade?
