His heart was racing. Yuki grasped the front of his shirt and tried to calm himself. Never had he had this much excitement in his life, and he may never see another moment like this in his life again. The only thought that held his mind was to catch this behemoth and call it his own.

Truthfully, the creature looked like some sort of Demonic dragon to Yuki and he had his heart set on catching it from the first moment it appeared. Even though he seemed at a size disadantage, Yuki and hi two small companions were holding it off pretty well, but it looked as if all the combos were starting to wear the two down. Luckily they weakened the enemy first.

"Time for a change of tactics. Swablu use gust and return to me. Umbros just retreat for now." The dog complied and retreated back to its still realitively new trainer. The dog seemed to have the same excited face on it as Yuki had. The Pochyena was definatly enjoying himself as well.

"Umbros, you'll attack its legs this time. Run behind it and use headbutt behind it aiming for the back of its knees. When he falls back off and keep away from it."

Swablu will have to hit it in the head with Dragon Rush once it falls, but it relies to much on actually having him fall. It isn't enough.

"Umbros if it doesn't fall just stay back and dodge its attacks. Swablu, if it falls aim a Dragon rush at the back of its head and retreat away from it. If it doesn't fall, Growl and dodge it's attacks."

There were too many faults in this, but Yuki needed to let the two rest while battling. If he had a third Pokémon or some help then he could beat this thing easier or at least faster than what he is moving now. All that he could do was watch and pray that another doesn't show up to aid his companion.

The thought of help was near next to impossible with the way the people are acting. Yuki was no hero, he had no real thoughts of grandure, but other trainers usually do hold these thoughts, so why was he alone? Best to put distracting thoughts away until after he secures the beast before him.

"GO!"

Character Title
Gentleman Adventurer
You gave your commands to your Pokémon. The two did seem a tough fatigued, but considering what they were up against it could be much worst The other creature was being double-teamed after all. It’s a good thing that there weren’t more of them around.

Umbros lead the attack. He loped towards the monster, brushing past it’s leg before it could react. Swablu flew just behind the dark hound, readying her attack as well. The monster’s red gaze followed her though. Umbros quickly turned, slamming his head against the back of the monster’s knee. The Headbutt had worked, making the blue-rubbery leg fall out from under the massive monster’s weight.

The creature tried to use it’s wings for balance, but to no effect. After all, it had a bad wing, right? So the creature stumbled backwards. It nearly trampled on Umbros in the process. But Swablu swooped in using Dragon Rush on the monster’s face. This completely disoriented the monster, and it finally fell backward, landing hard on it’s backside.

Your plans had worked. The monster was down, but not out yet. Both of your Pokémon backed away, trying to stay cautious around the thing. The monster eyed you Poochyena, and lashed it’s long arm out. It was trying to Pound him from where he was on the ground. Umbros was able to dodge the clumsy attack, and even retaliated of his own accord. Umbross Bit down hard on the monster’s hand. It didn’t do a lot of damage, but it looked like enough.

This was your chance. The monster was now weak enough to catch, but barely.

Yuki could barely keep himself up. His legs were shaking to hard from the excitement. HIs plan, although somewhat rough had succeeded and the behemoth of a demon fell into his trap. Now the creature was in capture range. Yuki shook his head to steady his thoughts.

Now is my chance! without taking his eye off the creature, Yuki pulled a couple of Pokeballs out of his backpack. I'm not missing my chance even if I must use all of the Pokeballs I have.

Yuki took one step forward as he arched his arm over his head in a throwing motion, and with all the strength he could summon, he launched the pokeball at the monstrosity before him. After the ball left his hands he took a defensive stance with the second ball ready to throw should the creature break out.

"Swablu if it gets free don't attack it. The same goes for you Umbros. If it breaks free dodge it and keep it occupied. Wear it down some more without hitting it. Swablu use growl to lower its attack so if it does hit it won't be as powerful. Umbros use agility and run circles around it. Maybe we'll get lucky and confuse the titan."

All was set. The Pokémon knew what Yuki wanted, and Yuki waited to see if his first attempt at Pokémon catching would be a success or a failure.

The pokeball in your hand was thrown and the Pokémon before you saw what was happening and cried out in anger and frustration. It tried to fly away in vain, and only managed to howl in pain, its wing shooting pain throughout its body. You saw it glare at you in a menacing manner, and you knew that if it had a choice, it'd much rather just kill you than let you have it as your slave. But it didn't have much of a choice as it was sucked up into the small sphere. If you were inside as well, you would see it trying to break free, pounding on the walls of its prison, but being completely unsuccessful, not having the strength to break through.

It had to have been at least thirty seconds before the beast gave up, allowing itself to fall to the fact that it had lost, and in doing so, has becoming your slave. Even if you don't treat your Pokémon as slaves, you should realize that that really is what you are, since you are considered a master after all. And this is all this creature knows. It knows not of people's compassion really, unless the Pokémon is kept as a pet, and not some machine to fight at a trainer's will. However, this Pokémon knew, just like all of the others, that if it wanted some freedoms, then it would have to earn it by doing its very best at pleasing you. It hated to admit that, but it knew that that was what would need to be done.

Your other Pokémon however, stared at you in admiration, proud that you were able to instruct them well in taking down the monster and then were able to capture it to add to your team. Now you have three Pokémon, and one of them is a Pokémon feared by many and not easily controlled. Once it gets any kind of freedom, you can be sure that if it hasn't grown a bond with you, it will try to run away, and perhaps even try to kill you. I suggest you be careful from here on out. Speaking of here on out, what do you plan on doing now that you just captured this creature?

OOC: I will add your new team member right away.

Yuki's body felt as if it were moving in slow motion. To him every move seemed overly exaggerated as he performed the throw. His Arms swept as if they were going to throw his body with the Pokeball. On the launch it felt like he would lose his balance. Yuki stumbles from the weird slow motion feeling and stumbles forward from the force of his throw.

The Pokeball was on target. It flew true and hit the mark, taking in the demonic creature into its tiny spherical body. Yuki's heart was pounding too hard for him to hear the creature's angry cry. To Yuki there were only three things that existed, him, the Pokeball, and the thumping sound of his heart. The adrenaline was skyrocketing. Though the battle was fairly one sided, this was Yuki's first Pokémon Capture. The beast did put up a decent fight and now it was soon to be his.

All eyes were on the Pokeball as it rocked as the creature inside tried to escape. Eventually it gave up and Yuki, Umbros, and Swablu all let out a held breath. Yuki completely collapsed onto the ground as Umbros went to retrieve the Pokeball. Swablu stood on her master's chest and started fanning his face with her cotton soft wings. As soon as Umbros neared the two with the Pokeball in its muzzle, Yuki reached out and grabbed Umbros and Swablu pulling both into a big hug.

"You two were amazing. Continue to do this good and we will have fun on this journey."

Yuki released the two dazed Pokémon and took the Pokeball from Umbros. giving him a thank you pat for retrieving the Pokeball for him. Yuki then spun the Pokeball on one finger and tossed it into the air catching it with the same hand.

"Well I need to name it. What do you call something that you have no info on?"

Yuki heard a faint beeping sound coming from his pockets. Reaching in, Yuki pulled out his Pokedex. A light was flashing on the main body of the Pokedex. Curious, he opened the Pokedex. New Updates found. Yuki's Pokedex had updated itself when he caught the creature. Pressing a few buttons to go forward, Yuki found the new info. Cthooloo. Water/Dark type.

"Well it isn't much, but I know what it is now. I'll call him Loo for a while. And you my dear," Yuki scratched a small spot under his Swablu's beak. "How do you like the name Artemis?"

The Swablu chirped her joy at having a name. She was feeling left out with Umbros having a name and she not.

"Well thats settled. Lets go heal and rest at the Pokémon center before we head out. We may run into another one of these and I want the one on our team fit as a fiddle for when we do have to fight."

Yuki picked himself off the ground and started to head back to the Pokémon Center with Artemis and Umbros following behind him.

The Pokémon center is a wise choice. Luckily for you, it isn't all that far away. Artemis happily flew behind you, sometimes flying around you. She must be happy to finally have a real name. Umbros walked beside you, like a little guard dog. It must be nice to have such faithful Pokémon. The only real monkey wrench there is Loo. Would it listen to your commands? Will it try to eat you when and if it gets the chance? You just can't tell what Cthooloo are thinking.

A short walk later and you and your possi arrived at the center. The doors opened and you went inside. There at the counter was a substitute nurse. Nurse Joy must be busy at the moment. Although there isn't much to worry about, she looks experienced enough to do her job. You handed her your Pokémon, after recalling Artemis and Umbros, of course. She took them and placed your balls on the healing machine while you went to the waiting room. It should only take maybe five or ten minutes before you get out of here and back to finding more Pokémon.

About three minutes later, an alarm started ringing from the front desk. Concerned, you go to investigate what just happened. There, you see the substitute nurse with about three others swarming around the healing machine, where your Pokémon are! One nurse tells you to stand back, so you do. They should know what they're doing. About 30 long seconds later and the machine was turned off. The substitute took your now freed pokeballs to a scanner to check on your Pokémon. On the computer screen, there appeared to be nothing wrong. She called you over to have a look for yourself. You scanned their stats to find them at full health, so what went wrong? You then looked at the :exp bar. To your horror, Artemis and Umbros's :exp went down! Artemis's dropped 20 points and Umbros's fell 10 points. One of the other nurses said that there was a short in one of the lines and a mechanic was on the way. Well, at least that won't happen again.

Doesn't that just SUCK. Your Pokémon dropped experience over a stupid short in the healing machine. Frustrated by this, you left with your healed Pokémon. Walking outside, you nearly run into a passer-by. She said, "Hey! Watch where your going, unless you want to end up battling." She then looked down at your pokeballs. The teenage girl, as you now got a better look at her, continued saying, "Oh, so you are a trainer. Want to battle anyway?" Well, it looks as though you may be getting your Pokémon's experience back after all, that is, if you can beat her.

(#40 was, well, I think you can figure it out. Suck is the right word for it. I'll regretibly edit your profile)

Yuki was having a good day turn bad. The day was excellent when he caught Loo, but the machine's mess up with his experience was just plain wrong. How could the machine make his Pokémon lose battle experience? It just didn't seem possible. The more Yuki thought on it the worse his mood got. Eventually he just retrieved his Pokémon and stormed out before something worse happened.

"I should complain, but a loss of experience isn't that bad. These people have very little manners about it though. The least they could have done was compensate me for my loss. Or at least made sure that there was nothing wrong with their equipment. They were lucky it malfunctioned on me."

Yuki wasn't paying attention and ran straight into some girl on his way out. His bad mood caught the better of him unfortunately.

"Hey watch where you're goin!"

Yuki looked up at the person he ran into. She seemed like she knew her way with Pokémon. She certainly wouldn't just come out and challenge random people. She obviously didn't know what Yuki had on him. Loo was a monster, there was no doubt about it. Worst part is that Loo was freshly caught so Yuki had no time to tame or teach it anything about fair fighting or holding back enough to just do damage and not kill.

Would Loo even listen to me? He seemed crazy now that I think about it. How would one of these monstrosities react to commands from a human?

"I'll take your challenge. One on one with Three Pokémon each sound good?"

Yuki took a few steps back to give the girl and him some battle space. The first thing out was Umbros. Yuki caught the Pokeball as soon as it released the dog and made its way back. So long as she didn't produce a flying type, Umbros can take it. Indeed Yuki thought that. Umbros originally lost to his Swablu, a flying type, but Umbros also helped defeat a flying type as well, Loo. Maybe Yuki's bad luck began and ended with the machine.

"Umbros, be ready for anything. If its a flying type take its wings out with bite. Use Agility to get a good start on it. After just dodge what it throws at you and wait for further orders." Yuki whispered into his dog's ears. He then gave the Poochyena a quick scratch behind the ears to show his encouragement.

The girl said, "Yeah, one on one sounds good. My name's Kayla by the way." She also stepped back, allowing ample room for your battle. She then reached to her side and produced a pokeball of her own. As she launched her pokeball, Kayla said, "Alright, Pi, you can do it!" Pi, the Pichu emerged with a flash of light. She had a little pink bow tied to her left ear and looked so cute. Even in your bad mood, you agree don't you?

Kayla said again, "Alright Pi, use Charm, then Thundershock." Hmm, that could be a shocker. Oh, bad pun. Anyway, Umbros ran forward using Agility, glad to see it wasn't a flying type against it. Pi quickly started working on Charm, producing little heart like bubbles. Umbros ran into one of them, dropping his attack power drasticly. It still didn't slow him down though as he latched onto Pi's arm. The little Pichu screamed in pain as she was then thrown by Umbros. It was a little something he though of on the fly. Such a good Pokémon you have there. However, Pi then charged up enough energy for a Thundershock and launched at Umbros. Boosted from Agility, he had no problem dodging the attack. Your Poochyena returned back to you awaiting more orders.

Kayla then said, "Aww, come one Pi, get up and use Tail Whip. Then, use Thundershock again." Well, that round worked well. So, what will you do now? You had better hurry up and decide before that Pichu gets any closer. Close range Thundershocks hurt much worse than when farther away.

Yuki was a bit surprised that Umbros threw the Pichu only to have the Pichu release an electric shock shortly afterwards. Umbros had saved his own skin by a slim margin. Any more close calls would be Yuki's defeat. All he could do was coordinate Umbros the best he could until the end of his part in this battle, whether it ends in victory or defeat.

"Good job Umbros lets keep up this pace. Use your Speed to get in close and smash the little rodent with a Headbutt. Be wary of the electric attacks though."

The electric attack isn't all the Pichu has for it either, there is still its ability Static to worry about. Yuki pulled ot his Pokedex for a little more info on Pichu.

"Pichu the electric rat Pokémon. Pichu is the baby form of Pikachu. Pichu have trouble using electric attacks as their electric sacks located on their cheeks are under developed. This usually causes the Pichu to shock itself when using electric based attacks.

Yuki slowly closed his Pokedex, the little bit about Pichu being a double edged sword was a nice tidbit, but this one didn't seem effected by its own attack at all. Maybe this one was older and had a well developed electric sack, or there may have been intensive training to avoid the blast back. All this was a little confusing to Yuki.

I'll stick to my original plan, if something goes wrong I'll have him dodge what ever attack may follow. All I can do is wait and see how things go.

Static can Paralyze your Pokémon any time it makes contact, and yet you don't have too much of a choice about that, do you? This is when your Pokémon needs to know at least one special attack so that he can stay out of the way of that kind of Pokémon. But I'm sure you and Umbros can work through this and come out on top, all depending on how you handle this of course. Pichu didn't hurt herself when she attacked you with Thundershock? Well that's a little odd, and I can't help but wonder why that is... wait... is it holding something?

Upon a closer inspection of your current opponent you found that it was holding some little ball in its paw. When the sunlight hit it, it twinkled and you could easily tell that it was holding a Light Ball. Hopefully it won't break if Pichu loses it during this battle, especially with Umbros charging at it with a Headbutt! Pichu charged up another Thundershock, and you saw electricity spark around the Light Ball. But before Pichu could unleash it, Umbros smacked it with the Headbutt, causing Pichu to cry out, and electrical energy flew from Pichu to Umbros.

Howling, Umbros fell and started to twitch, unable to move out of the way of Pichu's enraged Body Slam. It basically bounced off of your dog, but was still able to do something anyways, and Umbros remained unmoving. It seems that Static did take hold like you had feared. But eventually he should be able to move and do something. Or maybe you should just switch Pokémon.

(Sorry, Snow. You took too long.)

Vince Roden stood and watched this battle with amusement. The kid with the Poochyena was doing pretty well. He watched for a while as the Poochyena, apparently called Umbros, attacked and succeeded moderately. The little hound was paralyzed by the Pichu, but it had spirit.

Vince cocked his head as the battle continued, and he finally nodded to himself, knowing what he should do. Taking the Pokeball with his mysterious Slugma, Vince walked over to the kid's backpack. Dropping the Pokeball in there with a note he had written on the way, he took $200 and left.

The note read:
Dear kid,
I was watching your fight and thought you were pretty good. I felt you could use this Slugma. I did take $200 if you don't mind, but Slugma should make up for it. I hope he's good to you and you to him.
